  1. Of course Brady is a better all time QB than Montana, it's not even remotely close. Just because they let players get away with more back then and you think "guys were tougher," doesn't mean they were better.
  2. Do I need to do this again? Last time: He throws the ball downfield. They do not incorporate screens, dump offs to running backs, checkdowns into their offense. Their running back, Brian Hill, who (I believe) was third in the nation in rushing in 2016, caught EIGHT PASSES all season. Naturally, his completion percentage is going to be a bit less. As far as the interceptions, yes, he is a bit of a "gunslinger" and attempts ill-advised passes from time to time. But again, it was his first season as a D1 QB. And he was named first team all MWC. They were 2-10 the year before and had sucked forever and made a magical run to the MWC title game (I was there in the freezing cold) that they almost won and then played valiantly in their bowl game against BYU as well. He did not "get worse." Feel free to go back to the thread on here during the Iowa game in week 1. I was telling everyone who would listen that he wouldn't have as a good of a year, his numbers wouldn't look as good and the team would be worse. HE DID NOT REGRESS AS A PLAYER. He lost, again, his top two RB's, his top two WR's, his TE and his C- four of whom played in the NFL last season. His entire skill position group was comprised of raw, unheralded freshmen playing their first games as D1 athletes and one sophomore (CJ Johnson) who had a horrible case of the dropsies at times last year. So when you talk about competition, yes, the defensive backs aren't as good but neither is his line, his receivers, etc.- which, I can assure you, was certainly the case in 2017. Please, PLEASE don't try and school me on Josh Allen. I have watched every game he played as a college QB and attended four of them. I do not think he is the end-all-be-all QB prospect (I have him ranked #2 or 3 behind Mayfield and MAYBE Rosen). But this idea that he "wasn't good" in college is absurd and patently false.
  3. UUUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Dude, for the millionth time, HE WAS REALLY GOOD IN 2016! This idea that he sucked in college is just not true. It's a blatantly false narrative. He was the best player on the field most games he played in as a college QB. The numbers were not flashy this year, everyone knows that. For the billionth time, he lost EVERYONE and was playing with unheralded freshmen recruits at every skill position. His starting running back went from the school's all time leading rusher and a guy currently on the Bengals, to a freshman who converted from linebacker right before the season started. I can't wait for this to be over. Again, he was the 2016 MWC first team all conference QB (in his first season as a D1 player) and was named the 2017 MWC preseason player of the year going into 2017. Stop saying he "wasn't good."
  4. Those four could go in the top five if the Bills DON'T trade up, which is what I'm worried about.
  5. Wait, WHAT? What in God's name are you talking about?? We have been in, far and away, the greatest era of QB play in NFL history for the last 15-20 years!! We're at the end of an era that saw four of the top ten QB's to ever play the game of football all in their prime at the same time (Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers), not to mention, Roethlisberger, who is a top 15 all time QB. But more importantly, we're in a time where a guy like Kirk Cousins is like an average NFL QB. A guy like Matthew Stafford is like MAYBE a top ten QB! Please, PLEASE, tell me the golden era of QB play when the average QB was better than Kirk Cousins. Please tell me the golden era of QB play when a guy like Tyrod Taylor was a below average starting QB, yet was actually pretty efficient. I am dying to hear your response.
  6. Yes!! So in other words, each of the guys this year has a 67% chance to be a franchise QB? What point are you trying to make? That sometimes big QB prospects bust so you should never take one? I'm genuinely curious what you're trying to say here. Did you think that posters on this website were heretofore unaware that not all first round QB's succeed in the NFL?
  7. Yeah I don’t know- Biff from Tonawanda insists that Josh Allen is definitely gonna suck. Surely he knows more than Scouts Inc. (Biff being a metaphor for half the people on this website).
  8. Just updated my post. Look at the throw he makes at 5:50. Who else makes that throw??
  9. Look at the throw he made across his body while on the run like 60 yards downfield to Mulhaurdt against San Diego St in 2016 (I was at that game). Look at each of the three TD passes in his bowl game this past season. Each of the three is unique and shows a different side of what he does well: the first one is an absolute laser that, again, very few NFL QB's could make right now; the second one he escapes a bunch of pressure and makes an improvisational throw on the run; and the third one is a rainbow bomb that hits the receiver perfectly in stride. Sorry, it was to Hollister. Hey everyone, if you want to see the exact game when Allen emerged as a top overall prospect, here it is. For all the doubters, please watch the throw he makes at the 5:50 mark and tell me who else makes that throw. Thank you.
  10. He makes throws that no one else makes. Look at his first TD pass in the bowl game against Central Michigan. There aren't five QB's in the NFL that can make that throw. He was an A in his bowl game, an A at the Senior Bowl and an A+ at the combine. Also, I feel like not enough people are taking into consideration the fact that, outside of Lamar Jackson, he is far and away the best running QB of the top 6. He is fast, strong, and extremely elusive and hard to bring down. He is a team player and has a tremendous attitude. Never once did he make excuses after losing his top two RB's, top two WR's, his TE and his starting C (four of whom were active NFL players last season) after 2016. And I disagree, I think his 2016 game tape speaks for itself. I am so sick of people talking about what he did in 2017 (which, again, I could've told you his numbers would regress) and acting like 2016 never happened. He was really, really good that year. Were all his skill position players juniors that year and seniors this past year, we'd be talking about the slam dunk #1 pick and the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck.
  11. See what I just wrote in another Allen thread- he threw the ball downfield in college. In 2016, Brian Hill, who is now on the Bengals and took virtually every snap, and was like 2nd or 3rd in the nation in rushing, caught exactly eight passes. Do you have any idea how much higher his completion % would have been if Brian Hill caught, say 50 passes that season? They were not a screen pass/checkdown type of offense and he is certainly not that type of QB.
  12. Been saying this since the 2016 season. He is a freaking horse.
  13. I hate to be that guy but, as I've stated, I am a Wyoming fan and I have literally watched every game he's played and attended four of them. In 2016, as a sophomore and in his first season as a D1 QB, he was named the MWC first team QB and apparently played well enough to be named the MWC preseason player of the year going into 2017. He lost everyone (literally everyone) in 2017 and, as I could've told you (and was telling anyone who would listen on here before the season even started), did not have as good of a year. But believe me when I tell you he was very, very good in 2016. As far as his completion % is concerned, they throw the ball downfield and screens, checkdowns, passes to running backs, etc. are NOT a part of their offense. For example, in 2016, Brian Hill, who was like 3rd or 4th in the country in rushing and now on the Bengals, caught like nine passes all season (look it up). He is going to be good. And drawing comparisons between him and EJ freaking Manuel coming out of college is utterly absurd.
  14. Josh. Allen. Was. Good. In. 2016. You're talking about a guy who could go first overall in a good draft vs. a guy who was slated to and should've gone in the third round in the worst draft in modern NFL history. Such an incredibly lazy comparison. Do you have any idea how much more gifted Josh Allen is than EJ Manuel??
  15. Also tired of the mocks, but teams absolutely do NOT know how it's going to fall. The Jets have no idea which QB's are going to be available at 3.
  16. Prediction. Nobody on planet Earth has inside knowledge as to how this thing plays out. If I know of anything as the draft approaches I will be happy to share.
  17. You guys wanna know what happens? Here's what's happening: 1. Cleveland- Sam Darnold 2. NY Giants- Josh Rosen 3. NY Jets- Baker Mayfield 4. Cleveland- non-QB 5. Denver- non-QB 6 or 7. Bills trade up and select Josh Allen Book it.
  18. There isn't "a" CBS Sports mock draft. There's like six dudes on there who all do one. It doesn't mean anything anyway.
  19. Allen, obviously. Dude, Allen will absolutely be either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd QB off the board. Anyone wanna bet me? Also, I'm starting to come around to the idea of not moving and being perfectly happy with Mason Rudolph and four additional top 65 picks.
  20. Is there a thread on that yet?? I thought for sure there'd be one on the main page. It's almost as insane of a story.
  21. There is absolutely no way the Giants stay at 2 and don't take a QB. None. They will be offered way too much to justify taking a non-QB.
  22. Exactly. There is a 0% chance that the Bills did not have a chance to beat this offer. Either a) it was too rich for the Bills' blood and they might just stay at 12 or move up to like 7 on draft day or b) they knew that by moving to 3, the Jets could then simply throw in next year's first and move up to 2. By the Jets even being involved, it essentially ensured that QB's are now going to go 1-2-3. Unless you love three of the QB's about the same (which the Jets have to), getting to 3 is almost pointless at this point.
  23. Best case scenario is Bills fall in love with Mason Rudolph and, as many people do, have him as one the top 2-3 QB's in the draft. If that ends up being the case, they can still get a light blue chip player along with their QB and cash in those 2nd's and 3rd's as well. I'd be thrilled.
