  1. Nope. When Jauron's putrid teams were going 7-9, I don't think anyone thought we were better than our record. If anything, those teams overachieved, at least from a W-L perspective. The Chiefs are 9-0 and we are 3-6. Did we look that much worse than them yesterday? There is some luck (and lack thereof) involved in a lot of teams' W-L records in today's NFL.
  2. Nope. It's not even a remote possibility. I would venture to guess that the Vegas odds of them going 0-7 the rest of their way with their schedule is probably 50-1.
  3. It's not just that we were right and you were wrong. It's that you were so incredibly adamant that anyone who thought Goodwin might be better than Graham was so clueless that you were going to block their posts from now on.
  4. +1. Yeah I'm an idiot, I was adamantly pro-Goodwin as well.
  5. Dude I've been questioning them trotting TJ Graham out there all season long. I just happen to think that your ultra-conservative end of the first half philosophy is a little archaic. FWIW, the week after the Miami game, Schopp and the Bulldog went on absolute tirade against a caller who thought the Bills should have run the ball with 1:47 left against Miami as you did. You're basically saying, "we can't score but we think you can so we're going to reduce your chances of scoring." Me, Schopp, Bulldog, Doug Marrone and most people who know anything about football would say, "hey Thad Lewis. WE have 1:47 left. that's plenty of time for US to score." You must have been really upset when Jauron got let go, I'm assuming?
  6. Go up by 10? We kicked a FG with 1:47 left to go up by 7. When did we have an opportunity to go up by 10 at the end of the first half?
  7. You gotta let it go man. You are really a rebel without a cause on this time management before the half issue. In the Miami game, they wanted to score more points. Period. That's what good teams try to do. Running the ball up the middle to make Miami burn their timeouts is sheepish, it is dated, it is 1980's football, it is not what winning teams do. You go out there and you try to score more points. As far as today, what are you suggesting they should have done differently WRT the clock exactly?
  8. Yup, we run on 1st and 2nd down, it doesn't work, so we pass on 3rd down and the QB throws one of the worst, most ill-advised passes I've ever seen a QB make, meanwhile, our #1 WR was wide open in the end zone and it's the coach's fault. We put together a gameplan that outgained an 8-0 team 470-210 with Jeff Tuel at QB and the coach is clueless. And once again, you have some bizarre fascination with calling out the coach for time management before the half. At least in the Miami game I knew what you were talking about (although I disagreed with you). In this game, I literally have no idea what you are talking about. And I love the Grateful Dead.
  9. They won't overturn this but geez, jboyst, there comes a time in a man's life where you gotta say, "hey guys I was wrong about that one."
  10. Is the jury still out on this one??
  11. So if we played this game 20 times, you think the Bills would be lucky to win once? You guys, this is not the 1985 Chicago Bears we're playing. I'm not saying we're gonna win but some of you are being a little overdramatic. I expect a game similar to most every game we've played this year- a close one.
  12. Exactly. He is usually a pretty good poster too, but that one shocked me.
  13. Uhhh dude, he had two electric kick returns in one game in the preseason. He caught a game-tying last minute TD against the Bengals where he toasted the guy. He made an insane catch last week against New Orleans. And he's barely even been on the field for us. You don't think it's warranted to be more excited for Marquise Goodwin than TJ Graham? What in the world has TJ Graham shown to make anyone think he's even worthy of being on an NFL roster? You are in the vast minority here my friend.
  14. I can't believe anyone in their right mind would vote for TJ Graham. I mean, the TD vs. Cincinnati and the insane catch he made against New Orleans last week are two better plays than TJ Graham's ever made. They do not have room for two little speedsters and I think Goodwin has already shown that his upside greatly exceeds Graham's. If I were in charge, my top 4 WR's on the Bills would be SJ, Woods, Easley and Goodwin. I still believe Easley will get snaps by the end of the year and show that he belongs. Why he hasn't already is beyond me. He's our best ST gunner since Tasker, he had 100 yards receiving on 7 catches from Jeff Tuel in ONE QUARTER in the preseason and everyone forgets that in 2011, he won the #2 WR job outright in the preseason before he got the heart thing. Not to mention, he's fast, he's strong and he is the absolute prototypical size for a WR. More so than anyone on our roster by a longshot. It remains a mystery why he doesn't get snaps.
  15. Yes that is correct, but there are still plenty of places to tailgate outside if you want to. Everyone does it up right- people are going hard but it's family friendly at the same time. The food is more of a focus than the getting completely smashed.
  16. I've tailgated in Seattle. Bills-Seahawks 2004. Everyone there thought we were crazy because we were drinking and cranking Van Halen. I didn't understand what the big deal was. The people were very nice but they all said, "yeah we don't really have a crazy tailgate scene." And to a man, everyone was saying that it was a Mariners town first. All that being said, I don't doubt that they go a little harder now that they've been good for a couple years. As far as the Bills go, anyone who thinks we have the best tailgate scene has simply never been to Green Bay or Kansas City. If by best you mean drinks the most then maybe we do. But the main lot is amateur hour before kickoff and after the game. It is rated R, while Green Bay is PG and Kansas City is PG-13. Top to bottom, they are both better because they don't have the absolute d-bags that attend Bills games. The best Bills fans are as good as anyone's best however.
  17. This thread is about to get merged but I already mentioned this one: saying that Drew Brees was putting up "Star Wars" numbers. What the f*** does that mean?
  18. Didn't like either of the challenges but I really hope people aren't going to start saying that we should have run the clock out with 4 minutes left in the first half...
  19. Yeah I just saw that. Oh well, sometimes even metzelaars_lives gets one wrong. It doesn't happen often, so relish this moment.
  20. How about the fact that they acted like the Bills put Jerry Hughes in coverage against Kenny Stills? Any idiot could see that there was a blown assignment in the secondary and after Brees threw the ball, Hughes started chasing him- which, I may add, he did an admirable job of and almost caught him. But they were slandering Hughes because he started chasing the guy! They were like, "look, Jerry Hughes seems like a nice guy but you can't expect him to cover Kenny Stills."
  21. This is old news. I can remember looking at pictures from their "fairy wedding" at least two years ago. That being said, I wouldn't say that this necessarily means that he's not gay. I mean have you really looked at his "fashion" link? http://pixyland.org/...ashionPage.html And not to mention, their marriage was sealed with a "pinky swear" and not a kiss. Great thread by the way. Great thread.
  22. I never say stuff like this, but yeah, this is actually a pretty good post. I think the bottom line is that you have to try and lure them into an ugly game because you're not beating them in a shootout. And you're right, Jauron succeeded in doing that against an Indy team in their prime on the road. They didn't win, but they weren't winning it any other way. It was an excellent game plan. The problem with Jauron is that he had that same game plan in every game, even if our opponent wasn't that good. But yeah, if we can keep the game in the 20's, I suppose we have a chance in hell.
  23. Fact: causing cigarettes enhances your chances of getting lung cancer. Fact: playing football enhances your chances of getting CTE. If we can't agree on this, then honestly, you should probably watch the documentary. You are reading way too much into the politics of this. It's not a left/right thing. I think a few posters have drawn the parallel that people who are ignoring facts here are akin to people on the right ignoring the science behind other issues (I'm sure you know the one I'm alluding to but please let's not go there- although I think it is a dead-on comparison), but this particular issue is in no way political. What the hell does PBS stand to gain by exposing the NFL's blatant cover up attempt with respect to CTE aside from making a compelling documentary and getting good ratings? Dude, everyone loves football. No one is out to sabotage football. You even went so far as to say that ESPN also wants to end football as we know it, which may be the most insane thing I've ever seen anyone write on this website.
  24. Oh he jumped the shark a long time ago. This absolute nonsense about how we should've run the ball up the middle 3 times and burned an extra 15 seconds and their timeouts- YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. That is not how winning teams play football. For one, it's dated. It's 1980's football. In 2013, a minute is an eternity. Schopp and the Bulldog (like them or hate them, whatever) went on an absolute tirade about this the other day. If they ran the ball 3 times, you'd have EVEN MORE people- including me- criticizing them for playing scared. We're up by 10? Good. Let's go to halftime up by 13. As if 17 points was gonna be enough to win that game. I want a coach that says, hey go get us some more points. We got 1:47, THAT'S PLENTY OF TIME FOR US TO SCORE. Anyone who calls that clock mismanagement is an old curmudgeon who doesn't understand analytics, probability and the NFL in 2013. Alright I'm done. Precisely. I watched the game at a bar with a small TV in the corner with no sound, hungover as the dickens and then, by the second half, drunk as the dickens and the first thing I said to my friend after we won was, Dareus was our best player today. I was wrong, Mario Williams was, but to say he "didn't play so well" makes me wonder what game this guy was watching. And again, I'm a huge Grateful Dead fan... ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!
  25. I'll play devil's advocate here for a second. Alonso looks like he'll be our starting MLB for years to come. But I find it somewhat curious that ever since Manuel's injury, one by one, people are starting to question how good he might be. He is a raw rookie 4 1/2 games into his career playing the hardest position on the field. If we can go back to the Carolina game for a second- everyone was certain he was our guy. That was only 2 1/2 games prior to his injury. And I'm not saying that I'm certain he's our guy, I'm just saying that people have been curiously critical of him since the Cleveland game. Meanwhile, what in the world has Robert Woods done to cement his status as a sure thing? He's been non-existent the last two games. And for all those people who thought he'd be our #1 by season's end, I think SJ had something to say about that on Sunday. Look at what Keenan Allen is doing in San Diego. DeAndre Hopkins has outplayed Woods and Patterson is already a KR stud for Minnesota. All I'm saying is that I take issue with the over-scrutiny/skepticism of Manuel contrasted with this anointing of Robert Woods as a slam dunk.
