No he did the complete opposite and defended him. Nice try though. -

Agreed 100%. The same people who got all triggered over a stupid joke about SHS's eye shadow are the ones who are bent out of shape about it. -

Not true, he was 8-3 last year but nothing matters anymore so whatever. -
Anybody else have faith in AJ Mccarron?
metzelaars_lives replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t want Allen to start the season. I don’t have a ton of confidence in AJ McCarron. Thrse aren’t mutually exclusive ideas. I don’t really care how good the Bills are this year. I care about Josh Allen’s development and where he’s at, developmentally, this December. -

Hahahahaha!! -
If I had to win a game tomorrow, I’d most likely go with Rosen. I like the Allen gamble though. If you read my OP, I never said I thought he was even the best QB in this draft. I was really just trying to dispel the idea that he “sucked in college” more than anything else. But it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he turns out to be insanely good. I think the way he played in the Senior Bowl was incredibly encouraging as far as a glimpse into what he might look like with legit talent around him.
-
As far as the numbers, if you think that Rosen or Darnold would’ve put up even better numbers in Wyoming’s 2017 offense than they did in the flag football PAC 12 and that Allen would’ve put up even worse numbers with, say, Oklahoma State, then I suppose I can’t factually prove you wrong but we can agree to disagree. As far as his 2016 numbers, again, this was a team that went 2-10 the year before and it was his first year as a D1 QB. I would also direct you to his rushing stats from that year. Something to consider if you’re comparing them apples to apples. I can’t overstate what a big part of his game it is.

Clearly I am as pro-Allen as anyone and even I recognize he’s a bit of a project. They have invested a ton in him and I think doing what’s best for his development is paramount for the organization- even if it means they suck this year and draft the top 1-2 receiver in the draft a year from now. I honestly think he shouldn’t see the field for at least the first half of this season, if not the whole season.

So you are, of course, aware that Josh Allen went 2-0 against CSU the last two years (I was at the game in Laramie in the snow this past season). Look dude. He was really good in 2016. Good enough to take a team that went 2-10 the year before to a MWC Championship game and a fairly prestigious bowl game. Good enough to be named the 2nd team all-MWC QB and the MWC preseason player of the year going into 2017. Good enough to be projected as the #1 or #2 overall pick and going into 2017. I realize the numbers don't necessarily pop off the page but if you watched him play, it was uncanny the impact he had in turning the program around. Again, being a sheep fan, you have seen this firsthand twice. As far as the tweets go, give me a break, he was freaking 15. Not to mention, he was quoting rap songs and TV shows. It is a nothing burger if there ever was one. My God, Incognito said some of the most vile, racist and homophobic s**t you can possibly say- as an adult, mind you- and he was able to quell that in the locker room somehow. The stupid tweets will be swept under the rug soon enough, as they should be. 15 dude. He was 15.

WGR Hosts Scared Of On-Air Confrontation
metzelaars_lives replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then you’d know that WGR does a great job. They have to put together 14 hours of programming in a small market, two sport town, every day all year round. For the most part, it’s a great station. -
Biff from Tonawanda, Gus from Lockport, Ralph from Blasdell... I’m so sick of hearing people weigh in on Josh Allen who have no idea what they’re talking about. Again, the idea that he “wasn’t even good in college” is laughable. He was REALLY good in 2016. Particularly for a first year starter. Four of the six guys on cbssports.com had him as the #1 overall pick in their final mocks. But Skip from Lewiston thinks he sucks. Just wait til training camp- he will win everybody over when he is a man amongst boys (McCarron and Peterman). And I still think they should shelve him for a year. But just wait and see how quickly the sentiment will change amongst the fan base...

I’m not sure you have ever listened to a sports talk radio station outside of Buffalo. -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

Whoa a guy on WGR said that? Well s**t, that changes everything! -
Dude. What more do you want to hear? What do you think could possibly be said that hasn't been said already? We live in a city that has one of the highest TV ratings for the NHL playoffs, despite our team not being in it. So they're talking about hockey for a couple hours. You'll get your draft talk all day long, as you have for months and months and will continue to get for the next several months.

Is it fair to judge Josh Allen based on tweets?
metzelaars_lives replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some of these tweets in question are literally from when he was 15 and a sophomore in high school. People seemed to be OK with Richie Incognito, who said the most vile, racist words you could possibly imagine, as a full grown adult. -

Nightmare scenario: Josh Allen?

Oh FFS. -
I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You have me mixed up with someone else. But yes, I do have superior knowledge when it comes to Josh Allen's college career, if nothing else. And now that we agree on the meaning of the word "literally," are you maintaining that Josh Allen literally only completed half of his passes in the flat as a college QB? If that were the case then he would have had an astronomically high completion percentage on balls thrown downfield. Agreed 100%.
