  1. Nope, no he didn't. He only threw for 3 INT's in 7 games. Vick was replaced by Foles, who excelled incredibly in Kelly's system. Foles definitely took a step back in 2014 statistically but he led the Eagles to a 7-2 record before getting hurt. Then Sanchez took over and actually played fairly decently through the end of the season. So no, he did not get benched either. In fact, only Vick was benched (was he hurt too actually??) I don't even know why we're arguing at this point. Is this somehow your defense of EJ Manuel or something?
  2. No of course not. Nor was he. Where are you going with this one? You weren't on the debate team in high school were you.
  3. I don't like Marrone either, I was giving you a hard time on that one. And what is with the vitriol? You are not a good enough, persuasive enough or articulate enough of a poster to make these points and then cap them off with a "buh bye." Bear in mind you just dropped a "buh bye" on me after telling me that quarterbacks are unable to succeed in Chip Kelly's fast paced offense! In his second year as a pro (you know, the same year EJ was in last year), Nick Foles threw for 27 TD's and 2 INT's. Then this year, Mark Sanchez, a QB who had been pissed on by everyone in America and left for dead, who no I don't want on the Bills, started magically throwing for big numbers- numbers no one thought it physically possible for him to put up- and was actually winning games for a stretch in Chip Kelly's offense. In fact, people on this very website continually tell me that Nick Floes isn't that good, he only put up those numbers because he had the benefit of playing in Chip Kelly's offense. And also Sanchez only played because Foles got hurt. Foles was 7-2 this year (remember- winning games is the only thing that matters, that's what you always say??) So again, what in the world are you talking about?
  4. You're just a marrone hater. He only had two years to prove himself- it's still way too early to tell if he's a good coach or not.
  5. This is a classic example of your posts not even making any sense. What exactly are you trying to say about the eagles? And yes performance is the reason that EJ was benched last year, exactly. In his last game as the bills starter Robert woods was targeted 12 times and had 3 catches for 17 yards. That pretty much says it all. And lots of great qbs have gone on to become good analysts- Bradshaw, fouts, aikman just to name a few- what are you talking about? 0 for 3 on that one pal.
  6. We overpaid for Mario?
  7. I haven't lived in New York for a while but my brother, who I consider to be very knowledgeable, is a big fan of his. What is it that you dislike about him so much that you would derive pleasure from watching him get trampled (presumably to death) by a buffalo?
  8. I agree that he looked good in the Atlanta game- in fact I've stated before that was the best he's looked to me as a pro. But to concede that EJ is never going to be a guy who takes control of an offense- coming from an EJ supporter- I think is a little disconcerting. I agree with that sentiment.
  9. Agreed! As I've stated numerous times, nothing would make me happier than for EJ to develop into a franchise QB. Obviously, I'm a huge Bills fan.
  10. Ha. I started using that only in retaliation to being labeled a "hater." I saw someone else use it first and I decided I was going to run with it. I wouldn't use the term supporter because I certainly support EJ in his quest to becoming a legitimate NFL QB as well.
  11. I just think the whole "14 games" thing is misleading. It is the number one talking point thrown around by EJ dreamers. He only got to play in 14 games because a) he had a horror show of an offseason in his second season and then b) lost his job to an aging veteran who ending up sucking himself but was still viewed as giving them a better chance to win than Manuel. Otherwise he'd have played in more games.
  12. Who said that? Trent Edwards was not "no QB." He was a QB. Did you want to keep him?
  13. So then yes that means McCown can be a starter, right? That is what people are saying about EJ in your poll. It is by no means an endorsement of his abilities. Geno Smith can be certainly be the Jets' starter this year, right? Hey let me ask you this: Let's say that we we're both at the same Bills game one time and happened to be tailgating next to each other. And we got to talking about the Bills- "The defense sure looks great, huh?" "Cheers to that!" "How bout that catch Watkins made! That was awesome!" "Man Mario sure turned out to be worth that contract! How would've thought?" Maybe I toss you a cold one and we're buddies, right? And then you ask me, "So what do you think about EJ Manuel? Think he's got what it takes?" And then I said, "I don't know man. He seems like a great kid- I liked the pick at the time and I'm really pulling for him but man, from what I've seen so far, my gut is telling me that I just don't think he's got what it takes." Would you immediately turn off the music, point your finger in my face and start yelling "HATER! HATER! Guys get over here. Lookey what we got here, an EJ hater..." Ya know it's OK for people who have been watching football for a long time and seen lots of quarterbacks come and go to opine that they don't believe a certain QB is going to develop into a franchise QB. Is that fair enough?
  14. No they don't disagree with me. I already said I would vote yes. He will probably will start for the Bills at some point. Do you think Josh McCown can be the starter for the Browns? Please answer that question.
  15. All four of those guys have shown that they are capable of being solid starters in this league. EJ has not. Yes of course Sammy Watkins is a franchise WR. And yes Alonso and Aaron Williams are solid starters at worst. So yes. Here's the crux our miscommunication problem: most people believe that it is OK to have an opinion as to whether or not they think it's going to work out for a certain player. For instance, I happen to think Robert Woods is going to be very good. I happen to think Jonathan Meeks will not. Does that make me a Jonathan Meeks hater? I mean, we've seen less of Jonathan Meeks than we have of EJ Manuel. Why can't some of us just say that we don't think it's happening for the guy. And once again, your poll doesn't prove anything. What if I started a poll "do you think Josh McCown can be the starter for the Browns?" Well it would be 100% yes. How in any way does that speak to McCown's abilities?
  16. Yeah but why are you being a dick? OK so you think EJ Manuel is going to emerge as the Bills' starting QB and play well enough to be their best option and keep the job for years to come. I do not. I guess we'll see what happens. Once again, I hope you're right. And also Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench because they were developing under Joe Montana and Brett Favre, respectively. Not because they lost their job to an aging Kyle Orton who clearly didn't even want to be there.
  17. Dude. I would vote yes. He will probably start another game for the Bills. That means yes he can be a starter for the Bills. Will you please tell me if you think EJ Manuel is going to develop into a successful, viable franchise QB for the Bills and be their starting QB on opening day 3 years from now. I do not. Once again, what do you think? I'm being honest here, I'm not trying to troll you. And if because I feel this way that makes me a "hater," then so be it.
  18. You keep ignoring me. What is your prediction? Do you think EJ Manuel is going to become the Bills' franchise QB or not? Do you think he will be their starter on opening day three years from now? Everyone else is saying exactly what they think yet you continue to make fun of other QB's by botching their names yet you refuse to tell anyone what you really think about Manuel.
  19. OK there's another concrete prediction. Bills fan 4 ever, why don't you call your shot here?
  20. Listen man, why don't you- once and for all- tell people what you think is going to become of EJ Manuel. Kirby has made his feelings abundantly clear. I think he will lose the competition to whatever veteran they bring in and I find it unlikely he is ever going be a starting QB in this league. To your poll question- yes, I think he will start at least one more game before his career is over. Josh McCown- whom you mocked repeatedly all last week- "can" be a starter in this league too. Look at some of the QB's in the league who started games last year. 1BillsFan, who is an adamant EJ supporter stated on Saturday that EJ Manuel will win the job and throw for 21 TD's this season. So that's what he thinks. What exactly do you think?
  21. Of course it should be. Manuel only started in 2013 because Kevin Kolb slipped on a mat. So that year he "could" be their starting QB. Last year he only started because they signed Kyle Orton a week before the season started. So last year he "could" be the starter too. Of course he "can" be the starter. They could sign Sam Bradford and he could tear his ACL again. Of course he can start games for the Bills. The question has nothing to do with his abilities whatsoever and certainly has nothing to do with his abilities as a viable, long term franchise QB. For a poster who derives much pleasure from saying "IN" to everyone else's posts, I am shocked he started a poll so similar too- but far more ambiguous than- the one started on Friday.
  22. Might be time to take a break from TBD for a few days.
  23. I'm glad the verdict is already in on Bryce petty's pro career. Here I was thinking the whole draft thing was kind of a crapshoot. Fwiw petty is the guy I want. Shows what I know.
  24. Not that any of this is ever happening but... next time you hesitate to trade for drew brees watch the last 15 years over and over.
  25. Yes I was being polite. Possible as in I consider it within the realm of physical possibilities. I do not consider it a physical possibility for him to develop into a guy who is taking charge, grabbing guys by the face mask, barking signals and leading two touchdown fourth quarter comebacks. But I suppose it's within the realm of possibilities that the Bills- outside of the QB position- have a top 5 roster in the NFL this season and if he is able to play the way he did against Chicago- make a few throws and avoid the big mistake- then yes, I think there is a 5-10% chance that EJ could win us 10 games. This is by no means a ringing endorsement.
