  1. I agree with KOKBILLS on this one, as there is No Way Manziel makes it out of the top ten. If he does make all the way to the 9th pick, then the Bills might have to rethink the entire EJ thing. They can also screw some team to the wall for picks, as they would be crazy to not trade back at this point in picking up multiple picks for Johnny Football. 10,000 yards of offense in two seasons with the Aggies. I would bet the farm some clubs have this kid as their #1 overall over Clowney.
  2. Perhaps back to the Chargers, or the Lions who would love what he can do out in the flat.
  3. I'm still sort of perplexed on how this type of thing happens to have so many FO people, and coaches completely miss on just how bad those back ups were. Anyway, This guy did end the season with the Chiefs as their highest graded player by PFF at (+18.6) That grade is better then any current player on the Bills roster currently as an OG. So yea, he would be a big improvement over both Legursky, and Urbik. The Bills need to find players that can grade in the green while playing against the Patriots, as only Glenn and Wood managed to do that last year. Hopefully the bills offer him a nice multi-year contract, and he accepts it.
  4. The Bills could build a stadium like the new Cowboys stadium http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/ and it would be half empty every game. 80,000 seats Winning cures everything! The Bills had no problems filling "Rich" stadiums 80,290 seats when they were winning games. Its all that losing they do... is the reason why they don't sell out some of the cheapest NFL seats for a stadium that holds 73,079 seats now. The Redskins play at Fedex field that holds 91,704, and you would need to have a whole bunch of people die in order to get good season seats, as they have a long waiting list to purchase season tickets. Same with the NY Giants.
  5. Sure he is...if the bills give him super Mario type monies. You guys are dreaming... Most NFL teams are looking at how Seattle won the SB with a terrific defensive secondary, and start thinking about what a young 3x pro bowl safety would do for their defense. He is a goner!
  6. My take is the Bills are willing to take a gamble that no team is going to offer Byrd more then they already have. Which to me is a huge mistake by Buffalo because they offered crazy money to Levitre who never even made the pro bowl. Byrd is a three time pro bowler in his young career, and some team is going to throw the bank at him. Something I'm pretty sure he, and his greedy agent are hoping for...
  7. I have the opposite view, as I think the Bills might just get lucky at #9. Right now the QB's have dropped a bit because most didn't preform at that the combine. Those QB' that didn't throw at the combine will throw and run drills at their pro day, or specific work out day. Then we should see the QB's start to rise again once the scouts get a look at their arms, and ability their to hit all passes. One thing we know for certain is that five of the eight teams ahead of Buffalo all have a great need for a "franchise" QB. I'm pretty certain that at least three QB's will go in the top 10, Bortles, Bridgewater, Manziel. Both QB's and O linemen seem to move up as the draft gets closer. The top three O linemen should also go in the top 10, Robinson, Matthews, Lewan. So that should leave the Bills with some interesting choices at #9. JMO
  8. There are two oddballs here in my view is OT Taylor Lewan who "wowed" scouts with some impressive numbers at the combine, as he could easily jump into the top 8. Plus, some mock drafts have QB Derek Carr going to the Vikings or Raiders, as they are both desperate for a franchise QB. I'll tell you right now that Lewan won't make it past the Giants at 12. Carr however could easily fall to the second round if no team in the top 8 takes him, unless a team trades up again in the first to grab him. Check out Bucky Brook's big board as Lewan is pegged at #8, and Mack is at #10. http://www.nfl.com/combine/story/0ap2000000329512/article/buckys-big-board-20-sammy-watkins-khalil-mack-rise-up
  9. Teams are so desperate for QB's, and yet only Bortles threw at the combine. Texans could go Clowney with the #1 overall, and opt for a QB in the 2nd, Carr or Garoppolo. St Louis- either OT Matthews or Robinson Jacksonville- QB Teddy Bridgewater Cleveland- QB Bortles Oakland- WR Sammy Watkins Atlanta- OT whomever is there Matthews or Robinson Tampa Bay- LB Mack Vikings- Manziel So, I see only three QB's taken by #9. The choices remaining- trade back or WR Mike Evans- TE Eric Ebron- OT Taylor Lewan. It only takes one team ahead of Buffalo to fall in love with any of those three, and they could get lucky. NFL's Charles Davis has Matthews falling to #12, and the Bills drafting Evans ahead of him. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/mock-drafts
  10. I voted for the guy most of you don't like. I'm still awaiting Mayock's thoughts as get get closer to the draft, as he will post a mock and his thoughts on each player. I imagine that is as close as we will get to an actual scouting report. I agree with the free agency for defense part simply because they were so successful last year with it. Bill in NYC is a diehard bama fan and if he doesn't like Mosley at #9...
  11. I clicked the link in your post that you quoted, and it took me right to the article by La Canfora. If they even end up in Toronto, as La Confora stated that London wants a team, and LA will get two teams. I highly doubt Buffalo Has an NFL team in the next five years.
  12. According to CBSSPORTS. com Jason La Canfora believes its only a matter of time before the Bills are playing in Toronto on a regular basis. http://www.cbssports...series-for-2014 The Toronto Bills... Buffalo fans, buying season tickets this year isn't going to stop all that money up north from buying the team when Wilson passes. There are so many entities that want an NFL team, and that have so much more money then local folks, and think they could pull off a Jerry Jones by turning this franchise into a 2 billion dollar Org. Lets not forget that good old Ralphie has already stated the sale of the team goes to the highest bidder. He already bought his way into the HoF, so what does he care if western NY hates him when he is gone.
  13. Schefter was making a comment that the Bills had interest in the past in Vick. Yea, that was like 2-3 years ago before we found out how injury prone, and how bad he is in the pocket. The Bills have a lesser O line, lesser receiver corps, lesser coaches then the Eagles. Mike Vick in a Bills uni = lump of dog poo
  14. Players the Bills might want, but should be gone. OT Greg Robinson- OT Jake Matthews- LBer Khalil Mack-WR Sammy Watkins- DE Jadeveon Clowney. If one of these players falls to the Bills there is almost no question they draft them. There are two ways the Bills trade up in the draft, no way and no how. JMO. If the Bills stay at #9 there are three players who are almost a certainty to be there that have been greatly speculated upon to be desired by Buffalo. OT Taylor Lewan- WR Mike Evans-TE Eric Ebron The bills could want to trade back to pick up an extra round two pick like they did last season while still getting Ebron or an OT Zack Martin We fans simply don't know who the Bills FO covets or who is actually worthwhile to draft from their standpoint. We will find out in two months tho
  15. I'll never forget a game in 1986, at KC where the Chiefs defenders had engulfed him, an arm arose out of the pile and threw a completion for a first down. The guy used to butt heads without a helmet at parties...Joe Peterno wanted him to play Lber for Penn St. Also, not mentioned is that he had a severe separated shoulder his senior year in college that was so bad he needed pins inserted to hold it in place while he recovered. Doctors had told him he might never regain his full range of motion. Nobody is tougher, and he makes the best of every situation he is faced with. Someone that Bills fans can truly admire, and that he stayed a Buffalo Bill for life.
  16. It amazes me on how few Bills fans get this fact, and most fans want a top O line. They just don't want to spend early draft picks in obtaining them. Like any other part of the team they are an integral part of making the offense work, and an elite player on the line is just as important as any other elite position on the team, save QB. An elite O line player is the opposite of a scoring play maker, as when he does his job to the utmost you don't hear anything about it. They just don't get the recognition that other positions generate. The NE Patriots had the highest scoring team in the NFL a few years ago, and got to the SB undefeated at 16-0, and then lost to the NY Giants who were able to put pressure on Brady with their front four. Even all those weapons the Broncos had this year didn't matter either. The Seahawks didn't blitz that much either, as they were able to get pressure because of great coverage. The Bills have many more high draft picks in their secondary, and on their D line, and were no where near as good as Seattle on defense this year. In my view the answer is teams must be balanced in order to win on every level. When the defense takes away the passing game, then punish them with the run game or vice versa. The O line should at least be as strong as the teams D line, and this hasn't been the case since the Jim Kelly days. The Bills let their best pass blocking player in Levitre walk and then try and replace him with garbage players, and with a cast of rookie QB's on the roster no less. Anyway, I feel TG has an ax to grind against the Buffalo Bills for various reasons, and against their fans for more obvious reasons. He feels the need to stir the pot, and most times it needs to be stirred. Winning cures everything, and until this team has a winning season... more pots need to be stirred IMO.
  17. thanks for posting I get the impression that the Bills are awaiting a decision from Kolb on if he wants to play again, and if not they are fine with Lewis as backup QB. Which is good news to me, as ESPN stated the Bills would be interested in Mike Vick...ugg http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2014/03/michael_vick_could_have_interest_from_the_buffalo_bills_says_adam_schefter.html
  18. I get the reasoning behind the "lets dump the kid who doesn't want to be here", and this same type of player attitude was held by Levitre, Jason Peters, Whitner, Poz as they chose to leave the Bills. We don't know what Whaley is fully capable of just yet, and he could do an excellent job as a GM this off season. We all know the positions that need to be filled and it sucks to need to fill another already. If Whaley can find a decent OT-LG-Lber-TE-S in the draft, free agency or both. I just gotta wonder if this franchise can retain Whaley if he shows the wherewithal to build a playoff contender this year or next. They sure can't find a way to keep the players that want out....
  19. Meet the new boss....exactly the same as the old boss! Seriously, what has changed? The losing? The hiring of sub par coaches? A head coach that is supposedly an O line guru on the field working "hands on with the players", and then allowing a total waste of space to replace the best player at LG. Mike Pettine turned around a defense loaded with talent 9 of 11 starters drafted in the first two rounds, and now gone after a single year. A defense that everyone knew was better then that PoS DC George Edwards & Dave Wannstedt showed. Coaching is everything, just ask Pete Carroll. Bill Belichick Pay 100 million for a pass rushing DE, and become the #2 sacking team in the league, and it all goes for naught because they let the top pass blocking OG walk away, and got nothing in return...except 108 hits on the QB, and 48 sacks. Plus, there was no veteran QB to help out the THREE rookie QB's. Ralph is cheap...oh no he isn't!!... look what he paid super Mario!!....But he won't hire a top HC!!... what HC in his right mind wants to work for an owner and team that will hamstring him on players. That doesn't have building a winning team as the primary objective? kool-aid drinkers=working for Brandon
  20. I'd rather see Jeff Tuel play all season, as at least he has some upside.
  21. Did you happen to read all the posts in this thread? Yolo had a point about how the Bungals used to run their scouting dept. All I was pointing out is, I have never heard of the author of this article, and it would seem to me that if the guy were good at his job... he would still have a job as a scout instead of writing minor articles for the NFL. And no, I was merely pointing out that there are some NFL scouts out there that are seriously bad at their jobs. Some of us Bills fans know this first hand, sadly. Mayock has been asked by several teams to work for them and he has turned them all down. I would imagine Mayock is making far more money as a color commentator for NFL / college games, draft analyst / guru that hosts shows like NFL networks path to the draft. He also is the main contributor to the NFL's actual coverage of the draft. I would also imagine that NFL most scouts can only dream of having the job he has. Yea, but at this time nothing is written in stone. The It usually takes these guys months to watch all the game film, study the combine stats and make a final decision a few weeks before the draft.
  22. Not really, he was actually making fun of that team and condemning their process of players evaluation. It was from an episode of NFL flims, and the scout was working for the 49ers at that time. He stated he left the film room ranting at the head scout stating that they are "Highlights", and how can they possibly properly evaluate players with just highlights.
  23. I highly doubt the east coast or even the location of the stadium or city is the issue. I would think that very NFL player worth a darn wants that ring, to hold up the trophy, to play for a winner. While getting as much money as he can of course. The smart players realize they have limited windows of opportunity to win a Championship, and to play at all. On a side note, Tag his arse! This is worse then letting Levitre walk away because he is a pro bowler.
  24. I realize that is what most people expect professional scouts to do. But, that's not what I recall a SF scout stating about a team he refused to name. I can only think that must be where he worked in the past. He stated they sat at a table around at the end of the year watching "highlights", and and he became so upset that certain scouts would point out how great a specific player was because of those highlights. Doesn't make you wonder what the Bills did the years previous to Whaley to be so bad at drafting, and free agents? Anyway, like i already stated. I'll await Mike Mayock's assessment on guys like Ebron, Evans who have grades as high as 15-20 from some draft sites before I even think about them at #9
  25. and if he sits out fine him as much as possible. Seems stupid to me to just let him walk as every other player after him will want to do the same. He wants to play hardball, then play hardball!
