  1. Gonna be interesting, as so many big names should still be on the board. Will they go protection for EJ or TE, DE?
  2. I meant, better to give away next years picks then this years.
  3. It remains to be seen what happens next. Better picks in next years draft then in this years, and who knows what will happen this fall. This FO is showing so much confidence in what they are doing it almost gives me hope.
  4. me too Not unhappy with the way things went down. So many stated that they thought Watkins was the best player overall
  5. Not as bad as I thought, no other picks lost this draft. #1 2015, #9 2014, and a 4th in 2015 Welcome Sammy
  6. any DB in the first two rounds would pretty much disgust me.
  7. I'd say 90% of this board already knows who I want
  8. Perhaps Spiller too. The Bills did bring in 6 RB's for pre draft visits
  9. Great article, and I agree with it. I don't want to see any trade up at all because this draft is loaded with talent, specifically loaded at WR. So it really bugs me to hear about drafting the #1 WR. Plus, I don't believe there is one singular talent worthy of trading up for, unless they want a QB. Johnny Football perhaps? My reasoning is simple, because so many underclass declared I believe that good starting talent can be found thru rounds 2, 3 and 4. This hasn't been the case for the Bills for the longest time
  10. Well said, and I agree with everything. Welcome to the minority
  11. So much depends on what they do in the draft this week, and who they pick. Even then, I still have little faith this regime will ever field a winning team.
  12. I doubt Manziel makes it past Cleveland at #4 Plus, I don't see the bills going OT at #9 or Ebron. I think they go defense.
  13. wouldn't bother me at all, although I just don't see them doing both those. Besides like I said, I think Johnny Football is going to Cleveland at #4
  14. Good points, and I agree. Who knows whats a smokescreen and whats not. Just gotta wait one more day.
  15. Can ya blame him? I see him going to Cleveland with the #4 pick anyway
  16. and you would be wrong, as I post in other threads besides O line threads. just look at my content, as I have opinions about many other aspects of the team, and post about them. I'm just very passionate about what I believe in. I know I'm in the minority here on this particular subject, and that hasn't deterred my passion. Recently there is quite a lot of talk about drafting an OT in the first round. So, I know I'm not alone on this subject. If some of you don't like what I write or choose to believe in something different. Then simply don't read what I post or ignore me. It works great as I have a few on ignore.
  17. Hey man, I'm not calling you names or lowering myself to claim you have an agenda or are on a crusade. Yet, you relentlessly follow me around this board quoting me and arguing in post after post.
  18. Yea bravo... My so called "agenda" is to see the this team winning again, and competing for a super bowl, and nothing more. Just because you don't believe in what I believe in I won't call you a troll, or state you are on a crusade to get your points across. But, that is the difference between us.
  19. my stats tell me the Bills were 29th in 3rd down efficiency, 244 attempts, 69 converted =34%. Three, and out percentage 24.77, 214 drives, 53, and outs raked 25th in the NFL. There is a direct correlation between having the offense on the field, and winning games... mainly because its better to have the offense on the field more then the defense! Last year the Buffalo Bills were 30th in 5 min drive stats. Out of 214 drives only 10 were 5 min or longer.
  20. There is a right way to properly build a winning NFL team, and its starts in the trenches, both sides. If you don't have quality players on the lines, then everything else obtained is wasted IMO. (Asper 6th, Calloway 7th, Mertz ? , Bell 7th, etc...)Is a funny statement considering where all those players were drafted, as we both know that almost any player drafted after the 2nd round by this team the last decade was a wasted pick. You forgot to add Ed Wang 4th, Zerbie Sanders 5th. EJ wasn't regarded as a starter right out of college, and the Bills clearly weren't intending to start him at QB since they acquired Kevin Kolb. That said, injuries to the starter (Kolb) forced the team into starting a QB that wasn't ready. In doing that they needed to simplify the playbook for all those rookie QB's. EJ, as well as the other two QB's encountered difficulties during the season for the most part because they weren't protected well enough. 108 hits, 48 sacks is unacceptable. That, along with the inability to control the line of scrimmage, as the Bills ranked near last in every category of offensive efficiency. Which is significant considering how many times they ran the ball, and how many yards gained. The Bills manged to run the ball more then any other team in the NFL, and yet were unable to win many games because they couldn't control the clock or line of scrimmage very well. Last season the Bills fielded an O line with three of the five that often graded in the red against many teams, and were bad against their biggest rival the Patriots. This fact is also significant because it shows the poor play of those three. Now, you yourself have stated in the past that the Bills could use a new starting OT, OG. So I'm not coming out of left field here. The resources the Bills expended early in the drafts have been very fruitful in #1 on Eric Wood, #2 on Andy Levitre, #2 on Cordy Glenn. The resources the expended later in the draft on the line have been wasted, as none of those players became decent starters. EJ, nor any of those young QB's will never develop properly if they lack the proper protection to make plays, and gain confidence. Its as simple as that.
  21. Nail meet head of hammer! fourteen years of maybes, and wannabes ...after last season its SSDY
  22. I don't get that first statement at all. The DB's worked for Seattle because their HC was an actual DB guru, and not like all the supposed gurus the Bills continue to hire. Carroll brought in players with specific physical attributes, large, physically imposing cornerbacks, and then coached them up in his bump and run press scheme. He certainly didn't continually draft DB's in the first, and second round "hoping" to find good players like the Bills have done the last 14 years. Seattle's starting defense includes only two first round pick, two second rounders, a third, two fourths, two fifths, and two went undrafted. which is a far cry from the Bills over the top, talent laden defense which had 9 of 11 first and second rounders. The Seahawk team build philosophy is 180 degrees different then the Bills, as in they prioritized hiring a top coach who won championships, and not another mediocre maybe. The Seahawks certainly didn't prioritize drafting #1 RB's like the Buffalo Bills have done. Instead they traded 3rd, 4th picks for the Bills #1 in Lynch when the Bills couldn't find a way to get more production from him. Pathetic really. This Bills team has had a philosophy of trying to get by with sub par players on the O line since the Jim Kelly, SB days. Each new regime comes in and finds one or two decent players while never building an elite unit that can control the line of scrimmage, or clock. If EJ fails to develop properly it will more then likely be from not getting enough time in the pocket to make plays. So, is it any wonder why the bills haven't had a successful QB since the 90's. Its about building confidence for young QB's, and they can't gain confidence when the pocket breaks down after 2.5 seconds, and are forced into bad decisions. The O line consists of five players, and those five players represent 45% of the offense. When that much of the offense fails in most games... well then, how can you possibly expect to win? If this team ever put as much effort into building an O line like they have done with the D line, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation and I'm convinced the team would start having winning seasons. Plus, I'd finally be able to shut the heck up about it.
  23. YoloinOhio convinced me that Carlos Hyde could be worthy of that #2, and yet now I highly doubt he makes it to round two. I view RB as not a big need just yet, and with better blocking Spiller would make a bigger impact IMO. If they can't resign him tho... Anyway, i'm also for a trade back, and still am holding out hope for an OT, OG, and perhaps a TE in the first three picks
  24. Mayock has him ranked as the #3 OT ahead of Lewan. Then a lot of scouts are drooling over how the kid performed against everyone he played against in the senior bowl. He played at OG & OT and did well at both positions. Bill Polian on ESPN stated he would move him to center, and he would have an all pro for the next ten years. "Martin lined up at both guard and tackle at the Senior Bowl and routinely stymied the competition with quickness, power and overall technique." "He's instinctive, tough and technically sound despite lacking elite athleticism, and his biggest appeal to NFL scouts may be his versatility as many believe he could step in and succeed either at tackle or guard, as a pro." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664509/zack-martin
