  1. 3rd n 8, and SAMMY was wide open.
  2. This is such a great time to be a Bills fan. Such an emotional game. I can only hope this coaching staff is up to the task of beating the team that just handed the Patriots their rear end.
  3. I suppose the Bills are trying to make do with the talent on hand, and possibly hope that the other two rookies will develop enough to become starters at some point this year. Don't forget they gave Williams a big signing bonus. The prevailing thoughts could be that "If" Henderson should falter at RT then Pears can step in and bolster that position. This really is the first time in years that I can recall the team having some decent qualified depth on that line in both OT Hairston, OG / C in Urbik. Its encouraging to see this team finally paying attention to the line. The real test for this line is when they face a top defensive team on the road like @ Houston, or Suh @ Detroit, and even @ NY Jets with DT Sheldon Richardson. Incognito is still available afaik, and should the current OG's fall on their face big time then he could still be signed. But yea, like you, I think he is a much better talent and definitely worth the risk. That is if they want to make the playoffs this year. JMO
  4. SB Nation ran a nice article on the current players, and how they think the line played in Chicago. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-analysis-all-22/2014/9/13/6133177/buffalo-bills-offensive-line-scouting-seantrel-henderson Mostly stating what so many here have already talked about. Better play / players at OG, and TE would allow the team to be much more productive on offense. I still don't get why this team doesn't switch out the TE's for OT's on dedicated run plays. Like 3rd and short at the goal line.... when you run an elephant offense it helps to use the elephants. Anyway, I was very pleased the line didn't disintegrate on the road like they have done in the past. The Bills still could have a very promising season. "I don't think our run blocking was as great as the stat line says. We still have issues consistently generating push and getting yards in bigger chunks than 1-3 yards. Luckily, we have running backs capable of making something out of nothing. Scott Chandler was targeted one time, dropped it, and had a subpar day blocking as well. Is it too early to start the #TE Watch for the 2015 NFL Draft?"
  5. Kind of perplexing isn't it? Last year when Hackett went with a 4 wide spread, and ran a draw out of the shotgun it was successful for 6+ yards, and then didn't use it again. He clearly wants to try and max protect a lot of the time to keep EJ upright. The problem is that formation doesn't usually work well with a hurry up offense, as he proved last year. Gailey stated he ran with 4-5 WR's to create a mismatch with opposing LBers vs DB's. With running a 4+ WR spread the defense then subs in extra DB's to cover those WR's, and then its easier for the run game to make yards. Should the defense stay in a normal set, and keep the LBer's in then its a mismatch as the LBers will be forced to cover a WR. Considering the talent Hackett now has in the receiving corps you would think he would want to run those 4 WR spread sets. Gailey never had talent like this. Then if he wants to use a max protect, power run formation then why doesn't he have extra tackles on the field instead of TE's? Lets face it that last year Hackett was so conservative, and predictable it's no wonder the offense was one of the worst in three downs, and out. We gotta hope he learned something from last year.
  6. Terrified? about a letdown of the Buffalo Bills this week? The only thing i'm terrified of is a global thermal nuclear war, or something happening to one of my family. In regards to the smelly fish... in the voice of Bruce the shark in finding Nemo. We're having fish tonight!
  7. The most orange in the stadium last week was from the empty seats, and their own stadium was nearly empty for that Patriots game. Let them talk crap, its all they have.
  8. Chicago isn't as good as everyone thought they would be. Their new HC took a 10-6 team, and made them worse into an 8-8 team. Man they missed Lovie Smith. Last year the Bears defense stunk, as they were ranked 30th in both yards, points. Plus, QB Jay Cutler only went 5-6 under new HC Tresteman. It was Josh McCown who went 3-2. My take is he runs an overly complicated offense and the Bears O line still isn't all that great. So, the Bills offense is not as good as they looked going up against one of the worst defenses in the league. Then the defense didn't really face the powerhouse everything thinks the Bears offense should be. That said, it looks like the AFC East could be wide open this year as the Patriots / Brady are also not as good as everyone thinks. The Dolphins ran the ball well on them, and Tom Brady was actually shut out in the 2nd half. I suppose you could say that Brady really missed his all pro OG who was traded to Tampa. My take is the Patriots are not as bad as they looked against the Phins simply because Bill Belichick needs game tape on teams, and won't lose to Miami the 2nd time around. Plus, don't expect Brady to have two bad games in a row, and look for him to bounce back against Minnesota this week. Still, they just might be very beatable this year. Miami is certainly improved after last years O line fiasco, and if that phins D can give Brady fits...then just think what they can do against EJ. That Miami pass rush can be nullified by a good Buffalo run game tho. Bottom line is if the Bills usually play better at home then on the road, and they did manage to sweep the Dolphins last year. The Bills D should be able to shut down the phins run game, and stifle Talleywhacker again this year. Not many are picking the Bills again this week, and that usually works out well for the bills. That stadium should be rockin over new owner Pegs squish the smelly fish!
  9. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...
  10. They put Matt Simms on their practice squad, and not Boyd. I like that the FO is looking at him, and perhaps signing him. Gotta be better then the tuel http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/article-randylangeblogfb/Seven-Signed-to-Jets-Practice-Squad/a9eb0f71-56d2-4513-b00a-0614f15cf119
  11. I just want a win to help celebrate new ownership!
  12. awesome, just awesome Can't stop grinning.
  13. Jeez, SDS just ask for donations and get another server. I'm sure so many love this site that they will gladly chip in to help this work better. Send the old stuff up to the cloud. BTW, thanks for enabling a such a great site for us Bills fans. Also, thanks goes out to the mods who help keep things temperate.
  14. such great news he started two threads on it! Just amazing news to hear, can't stop grinning.
  15. If this happens I'll live the rest of my life with a permanent grin , as in can't stop grinning.
  16. If I'm not mistaken the FO had the hots for WR Odell Beckham Jr, and then the rest Zack Martin, Eric Ebron etc. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/pages/buffalo-bills-pre-draft-visitor-history
  17. Cameron Wake sacking Brady was great. Kinda scary that Miami beat the Patriots 33-20, and literally dominated the 2nd half by shutting out Brady. The smelly fish have a solid run game with Knowshon 24 rushes, 134 yards. Brady clearly missed his all pro OG that was traded away to Tampa, Logan Mankins.
  18. Great win, and long deserved for all the diehard fans who have never seen a win in the windy city before...ever. Loved that Fred Jackson stiff arm, and the line gave EJ time despite the not so great play at OG. It is clear that the Bills need better play or better players at OG & TE. I have a man crush for the new RT. So many worried when Gilmore was inactive, and gotta say Cory Graham played a heck of a game, looked very good in replacing Gilmore. Man, that vaunted Bears receiving corps didn't have the game Bears fans expected with Marshal, Jeffery, Forte, Bennett. Nor did the Bears run game. Was the Bills D that good or the Bears offense (Cutler) just not clicking? Anyway Bill, I always look forward to reading your "few thoughts about the game" after the game. Good stuff.
  19. old school ownage right there, Go Fred!
  20. absolutely! The thing is, i don't think that Bears D is anywhere near as good as it was under Lovie. The line gave EJ lots of time on lots of plays today. I still don't like the 3rd and one passing plays. Some good play calling , and some of last years crappy play calling mixed in. Next the smelly fish...who just beat up the Patriots!
  21. The oldest RB in the NFL... go Freddy!
