I wouldn't call him lucky to be thrown to the Lions...by St Doug

My only concern about Sunday...Suh.
thewildrabbit replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My concern is that entire Detroit defense, and offense. Stafford & Megatron...yikes. Suh, Ansah, Mosley, Jones....yikes! Then the Lions just went into the NY Jets, and owned them with 2nd string WR Golden Tate becaue Calvin was hurting. Then beat them so badly that there is talk of benching Geno. The score doesn't really reflect what happened, as the Jets managed a big run, and TD with only 6 min left in the game. Then fall flat as Detroit ran the last 3:41 out on the Jets. Hey, Orton is undefeated against Detroit...so, St Doug is throwing him to the lions . -
NFL Rewind ReWatch - Counting EJ Unforced Errors
thewildrabbit replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wholeheartedly agree that EJ sucked, and got worse as the game went on. Some questions? Why on gods green earth did Hackett have EJ come out throwing against the 27th ranked RUN defense? Why did Hacket play right into the Texans game plan by throwing 44 times, against relentless pressure. Then he only ran 23 times @ a 4.6 yard per carry rush. That tells me that if Hackett would have simply run more from the start, and often, then the game would have had an entirely different outcome. Then Spiller got 15 touches while the guy with the hot hand saw only 7 run touches for 33 yards, a 4.7 YPC avg. Mind boggling to me. Why did it take more then a few offensive snaps for Hackett to see the Texans defense wasn't in "off man" / "zone coverage", and why did it take until late in the game to make that adjustment? If Hackett doesn't know the feaking difference in what he is looking at for 2 hours. Then how in thee hell is EJ supposed to see it? This is the guy that is running that offense. Did you watch the interview with Mike Williams? Now, did you happen to catch the performance of super bowl winning QB in Tom Brady on Monday night against the Chiefs? Here we have a veteran QB as good as they come flustered all game because of an inferior O line. there is talk by the fans calling for the benching of Brady, and bringing in OG Richie Incognito to help that line. Something I think the Bills need to do before the season is lost. While I'm not really against EJ being benched as the Bills face the currently best defense in the NFL this week in Detroit, and Orton is undefeated against the Lions. Yea, good idea. Throw Orton to the Lions The real Bottom line is Bills OC Nathaniel Hackett needs to be benched, fired or whatever. He needs to be gone, gone, gone, from Buffalo, and the sooner the better. -
NFL Rewind ReWatch - Counting EJ Unforced Errors
thewildrabbit replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you come out throwing and its 3 downs and out, receivers dropping balls, and QB repeatedly getting hit at the start of the game literally destroys the QB's confidence. This usually doesn't go away, and the QB will then have happy feet all game. The Texans didn't have a very good defense, as they were 27th against the run, and really the only bright spot was their pass rush. So when Hacket had EJ come out throwing he was sending him right into the only facet of their defense to actually be concerned about. Then you have two OG's that clearly shouldn't be starting on any NFL team, and yet the Bills have no other options save bringing in head case Ritchie Incognito. Bottom line: when you say Hackett is clearly at fault with 44 throws. That doesn't even begin to tell the entire story. Watch this interview with WR Mike Williams in which he states that the Bills offensive WR's were game planed to play against "off man" coverage & zone, and once the game started the Texans were in press man. Hackett didn't make adjustments to this until late in the game, and as Williams described "we adjusted a little too late". He also went on to say. When we get the calls to play off coverage & zone, and they are in man...things tend not to work! Now WTF, Hackett is this lame that he doesn't even make this adjustment at halftime. How long must Bills fans endure this JV coordinator? WATCH THIS INTERVIEW!! http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Mike_Williams_We_Adjusted_a_Little_Too_Late/2229d307-9410-4b01-bdbb-c911b4607d09 PS If the link doesn't work for you on firefox or chrome, go to internet explorer -
I do, in fact. I see a playoff team with competent coaches and GM. Whaley might make brilliant moves on the defensive side, but wtf is up with the OG position...for two years now! This FO has had a policy in regards that OG's can be found later in the draft, and therefor aren't that important. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line stunk last season, and almost got Tony Romo killed. This year they draft Zack Martin and start him at OG, and that line is greatly improved, and their run game is dominate. The OG position is going to bite the supposed O line guru, and the GM right square in the backside this year.

Will Tom Brady be benched?
thewildrabbit replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with our luck Brady starts, and sucks so he does get benched. Then Garoppolo comes in to lead the Pats to a win -
If you watched WGR 550 all 22, and you saw how poorly the Bills O line played vs JJ Watt then I'd think most any QB would get the "yip's Tom Brady didn't look well on MNF either, as he had no time to throw either. http://www.wgr550.com/JW-All-22-Review-Bills-Texans/20015538

Offensive game plan moving forward
thewildrabbit replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How is the rook at LG doing? Better then Urbik or Williams, and the kid needs to play to learn. https://mtc.cdn.vine...0rnzDFWzr9__FCi More importantly how is Pears doing at RG you ask? I'd say horrid but that is being far to kind https://mtc.cdn.vine...cgjUN2ouwSP5N5O More here.... http://www.wgr550.com/JW-All-22-Review-Bills-Texans/20015538 Hacket is a buffoon. WR Mike Williams goes on to say that the offense was game planned for a certain pass coverage by the Texans, and they ran something different the entire game. Hackett didn't make changes until after the half. Like Williams says, if you are in the wrong offense, things tend not to work. http://www.buffalobi...bb-c911b4607d09 -
Why I think Marrone should be fired...
thewildrabbit replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Size is meaningless without talent, just ask Colin Brown / Cornell Green / Derrick Dockery. The Texans had 5 defenders on the line, and two backers 3 yards behind them. The Bills had 5 linemen, a TE, and a RB. So that's 5 Texans vs 7 Bills, and those backers didn't blitz much. Still, EJ was getting hit, and saw pressure almost every pass play -
How Has Orton Looked Since He Was Signed?
thewildrabbit replied to Prickly Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Practice... I have to ask what the f**k kind of practices does this coaching staff run when they don't know how the line players will perform until they actually play another team. Don't the Buffalo Bills have a very good D line, and don't they have a decent secondary? Do they dance around in tutu's waving at each other or do they actually hit, and hit hard? I'm thinking the former. How does EJ even stay as the starter in the first four games, is he hitting his receivers with almost every pass in practice, and then gets into a game and looks so out of sync with all of them. The QB not even able to complete half his passes. whats going on? So many penalties on the offense, and mistakes made by coaches. This coaching staff is a joke. -
Offensive game plan moving forward
thewildrabbit replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fire the current OC, and hire an NFL experienced game planner, play caller who can get the most out of the players on the roster instead of wanting someone else to fit the system he wants to run. I'd call the man a moronic jackass but that would be insulting to the people who already are that way. Hackett is below that standard. This last game with the clincher for me that Hackett is beyond help, as he went into that game passing first against the 27th ranked run defense. Houston's defense wasn't all that good, and the only thing they do very well is rush the passer with Watt. So what did Hackett do, he came out throwing, and had EJ run face first into that fierce pass rush. 44 passes vs 22 runs was just beyond stupid. Perhaps galacticly stupid. EJ was rattled early and it screwed his entire day, and anyone who thinks that the O line isn't that important should have been watching the Patriots at Chiefs on Monday night. Tom Brady looked abysmal, and almost worse then EJ because of poor protection. You would think with two rookies, and a complete bum at RG the Bills would try and run more, as its easier to run block. They know where they are going, and get the first push. Apparently not with this team Then last game WR Mike Williams stated after the game that Hackett didn't make adjustments in the passing offense until later in the game. He stated that the Texans had previous run off man coverage's so that's what Hackett game planned for, and instead the Texans were in constant press man. How difficult is it for a pro OC to watch the game, and see what the defense is doing in their very first series. I mean c'mon, if you aren't smart enough to understand what you are seeing on the field, ASK THE PLAYERS! Hackett is making Chan Gailey look like an offensive super genius in regards to the run game. How much more of this JV game planning, play calling must we endure? -
Good point. reading JW's all 22 his take is the Bills OC is leaving a lot of plays on the field also. What made Sammy so great in college was all those screen passes. Exactly how many has he seen with the bills? Or bubble screens, end arounds, reverses, fake reverses, jet sweeps, fake jet sweeps. You know, aside from having Spiller run into the the backs of the lineman who can't block worth a Sh*t Mike Williams stated that the offensive receivers were game planning for the Texans to be playing off man coverage when in fact they were playing press man, and Hackett didn't adjust quickly enough. EJ benched to be followed by Marrone / Hackett benched
-
I think the entire reason why EJ was benched was because Sammy wasn't getting the ball enough for whatever reasons. So yea, i think Watkins will see the ball almost every play from Orton.

Why I think Marrone should be fired...
thewildrabbit replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there is more to this benching then what was announced. The way I see it Whaley needs Watkins to catch more passes, and a big reason why the team is probably passing more, and running less. And another reason as to why EJ was benched, and Orton is starting. Ole Sammy needs to be right up there in stats with Kelvin. Anyway, not to worry Biscuit. I think Marrone / Hackett will be gone by the end of the year. Hackett will manage to bring them both down. -
You didn't click the link and watch what Mike Williams had to say about the Bills esteemed OC did ya. It wasn't just EJ. If that fool of an OC would have run the ball like he did year this might not even be an issue. But alas, Marrone says it was all him, and I have a suspicion that Whaley needs Watkins to be a bigger part of the offense. Hence the more passing plays, and another big reason for Orton starting.
-
Welp I have visions of Jordan Palmer, and you have visions of the playoffs. A known entity that went 1-4 in Denver as the full time starter, and was replaced by Tim Tebow of all people. And what's EJ's mentality going to be like always looking over his shoulder? Marrone may have just made himself another JP Losman. It also helps if the receivers catch the ball, and the OC knows what type of defense he is going up against. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Mike_Williams_We_Adjusted_a_Little_Too_Late/2229d307-9410-4b01-bdbb-c911b4607d09

Lets not forget that the team started that season 0-8, and suddenly around week 6 the bills benched RT Cornell Green because of some mysterious injury. It wasn't until week 8 that they actually cut him. Buddy Nix was pulling O linemen off the waiver wire like they were weeds trying to band-aid that O line. He finally found some stop gaps in Pears & Urbik. That 2010 offense under Gailey was bad, and it took Fitz awhile to acclimate. Hence the 4-10 record.
-
Oh that will happen, just not yet. I expect this board to start exploding in December, and make its final 100.4 billion kiloton blast heard around April sometime. Kirby Jackson thinks its going to be Sam Bradford who the Rams will cut. Although, I don't know why he thinks Bradford will somehow lose that injury bug behind the Bills line, or why Bradford will become the savior of the franchise when he can't take the Rams anywhere.

A tough row to hoe for Orton
thewildrabbit replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't lick a sick horse in the mouth. -
An improvement remains to be seen. From what I'm reading this QB change has fans thinking it was ALL the QB, and its not. Changing the QB isn't going change the play calls for 44 passes vs 20 runs. Nor will it upgrade the run game in the red zone or short yardage, and it isn't going to fix the OG position. So, what happens if Orton falls on his face? What then?

Why I think Marrone should be fired...
thewildrabbit replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoa, are we both watching the same team? While I agree with the OP about firing this staff of clowns. I think it goes much further then just benching the 2nd year QB who hasn't even played a full 16 games yet. How about the fact that the HC is a supposed O line guru that has no clue as to what a talented OG looks like. Last season Colin Brown got the start at LG, and was cut after 6 games. This year its Chris Williams and his bad back, and Pears moves from RT to RG, and both OG positions have been a comedy of errors. The QB situation last year as the team kept 3 rookies on the roster, and no seasoned vet. No QB coach, and no senior NFL assistant to help out the first year OC. Now that OC is in his second year, and he is sucking worse then EJ. He should have kept the simplified offensive game plan and kept running the ball. Only now without better play at the OG position he can't do that this year. This coaching staff is a joke, and WR Mike Williams stated that the teams WR's prepared all week to see "off" & zone coverage and Houston's secondary was previously letting receivers catch balls underneath, and then try and strip the ball to get a turnover. The Bills didn't change up the offense until late in the second half when the Bills OC finally realized they were in "press man" coverage. Williams words, we got the calls for off coverage and zone, and when they are playing man it tends not to work. Unreal! Seriously, the Bills coaches didn't even make that adjustment at half time? http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Mike_Williams_We_Adjusted_a_Little_Too_Late/2229d307-9410-4b01-bdbb-c911b4607d09 I can't wait until October when Pegs takes over, and looks at the mess he paid 1.4 Billion dollars for.Things will change. The Bills need a viable NFL experienced offensive coordinator, and one who actually knows how to build a winning offense. -
Playoffs, really guys? Can we at least wait to see if Orton can still play. He will be going up against the #1 defense in the league at Detroit, and for some reason the Bills gave up on the idea leading the league in rushing again this year. It has been since 2011 when Orton last was a full time starter. He started the season for the Bronco's, and went 1-4. Tebow then replaced him, and took Denver to the playoffs. Not the other way around. He then went to KC that same year, and went 2-1 with them. For some reason the Chiefs didn't retain him, and he left for Dallas. In 2012 he had no game starts. In 2013 he had one game start, and lost. I don't get why this QB is looked on as a savior, when it looks like an act of desperation to me.

A tough row to hoe for Orton
thewildrabbit replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My first though was....No Mr Bond, we expect you to die! I have visions of Jordan Palmer looking good in comparison. This game should really be interesting, as the current brain trust must firmly believe that the starting OG's can get it done, and it was all just a bad QB. The Chargers don't have anywhere near the talent of this Detroit front four, and yet they were able to destroy that line by simply stunting to cause confusion. This Detroit defense is 6th against the pass, and 7th against the run. I find it a tad disconcerting that Schwartz leaves Detroit and the defense improves from 15th to 1st. What gets me is at least last year the Bills tried to run more to help out the young QB's. This year they expect him to play like a seasoned vet and come out throwing against a team with a weak rush defense, and fierce pass rush. -
