  1. While I dislike some of Whaleys doings. I also figure it was under the watchful eye of Russ Brandon who wanted Marrone, and to keep Buddy Nix on retainer as a consultant. Whaley was a rookie last year, and he will get better with someone with more football sense then Nix & Brandon hovering over him. Then I also hope the new owners crap can the analytic dept that is probably responsible for the OG situation.
  2. But we can be happy about them Changes are coming
  3. You get what you pay for in life. Clearly this hire of Marrone was Russ Brandon's idea of hoping to get a Chip Kelly without needing to pay what the Eagles are paying Kelly @ 6.5 mil per. That was the old Buffalo Bills. The new Buffalo Bills have new ownership that can afford to hire anyone, and everyone. Who do you want? Nick Saban, Jim Harbaugh, Bill Cowher. Take solace in the fact that things should do a 180 towards positive change, and then think of Bill Polian. Then think of Bill not needing to fight with Littmann or Overdufas to acquire anything!! Good things in the future, good things!
  4. and what happens when you keep putting crap players on the field? its not going to work in any sense. Just like it isn't working to any great degree in Buffalo now. Plus, I still say its a completely different world from amateur college players to the NFL with highly paid professionals. I don't trust any college coaches anymore, not after Marrone. then you need to stop and look at how Malzahn is doing his winning in 2013 which is 72% running. That isn't going to cut it in the NFL, as its a passing league. Then his defense is very questionable. He also has a problem with discipline, as his team 61 penalties with 612 yards ranks Auburn DEAD LAST in the SEC in penalties. I'd rather take the safer route with a known NFL commodity then another unknown again! Man, i so desperately want to see this team have a winning season, and then the playoffs. no more maybes!
  5. I've never seen such blind devotion to a coaching staff. I do hope you are ready to admit they suck. even if you still love Marrone & Hackett. Both Phil Simms / Deion Sanders both think its the coaching that stinks in Buffalo.
  6. Its not just about the offense, and being an innovator in college. Its about knowing how the NFL works in every aspect, and Jim Harbaugh played as a QB in the NFL before he built a winning college, NFL team as a head coach. Pete Carroll cut his teeth in the NFL in Buffalo as DB's assistant coach to being an NFL DC to head coaching with both with New England & New York Jets. Exactly how many college coaches make that extremely difficult transition from college to the NFL successfully? Nick Saban didn't- Steve Spurrier didn't-Lou Holtz didn't- Butch Davis didn't- Bobby Petrino didn't-Dennis Erickson didn't- Frank Kush didn't- Bud Wilkinson didn't- Dick MacPherson didn't- Rich Brooks didn't. Chip Kelly is an anomaly at his position as a new NFL head coach without previous NFL experience. BUT! He was also smart enough to hired experienced NFL assistants in DC Bill Davis & OC Shurmur. Unlike Maroon. I'm sorry, I'm so sick of maybes and wannabes. I want a proven winner that knows talent. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to know NFL talent at every position. Only two guys I know fit that bill, Harbaugh & Cowher.
  7. Russ Brandon's best choice was his alum buddy Doug Marrone, and he wants him to stay as HC for continuity sake. Brandon needs to go back to just figuring out a way to better the marketing dept, as he has proven he is pretty much useless at everything else. Now write a letter to the new owners who will actually make the changes.
  8. Its amateur hour at OBD, and I don't want that first round pick in the hands of a moron. I'd rather not see the kid severely concussed, and become worthless. I'd rather wait until the team has a decent O line with an OC that actually knows what he is doing.
  9. Sorry Kirby, I don't want some pukey college coach who may or may not know wtf he is doing in the NFL. I don't want an an NFL assistant who may or may not know know how to thoroughly do his job as an NFL HC in Adam Gase, Darrell Bevell. I want an experienced NFL HC with a past history of winning. Jim Harbough- Bill Cowher would be my choices, and this new owner could afford to hire both. I want someone who knows talent at every NFL position so we won't ever need to see players like Cornell Green, Colin Brown, Doug Legursky, Justin Rodgers on the field in the Bills uni.
  10. "I love it. God help me, I do love it so. I love it more than my life." "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son." or "We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life."
  11. Russ clearly wants to keep his alum buddy employed and that guy wants to keep all his buddy's employed. I say fire them all, and hire "the chin" to renovate the entire losing culture of the team. Sorry Maroon, words alone can't get that done.
  12. While Orton was inaccurate in both games. However, I don't agree with the run game helped him quite a bit at all. considering the Bills ran it only 24 times while attempting 48 throws from Orton against the Chiefs. This with the Bills run game averaging 5.0 YPC, and the Chiefs had the #1 pass defense in the league. The moron the Bills have calling plays worked the offense right into the strength of the opposing defense with so many passes. Orton could have an assortment of viable reasons for not being as accurate as he should be. Still, I think its ludicrous to be forcing the QB to throw 48 times against the #1 pass defense, and 38 times against the #2 pass defense. Its moronic.
  13. Do you really want to see EJ in the hands of Hacker again? I know I don't. personally I'd prefer to wait until the Bills hire someone who actually know how to build a proper offense then the lame tool who is running it now. I'd have a different opinion if this jackass wasn't calling 40 pass plays a game while not even trying to build a power run scheme, and if the OG / O line situation wasn't so bad. The O line coach sucks too. This moron runs a a lot against a strong run defense in the Jets who had a crippled secondary, and in the last two week throws 39-48 times against the #2 & #1 teams against the pass. Hackett is sofa king we todd ed.
  14. The Chiefs had the #1 pass defense, and the Dolphins have the #2 pass defense. So lets play right into their strengths!!! 39 pass attempts again this week. The Bills run game had a 2.8 YPC avg, with 19 rushes for 54 yards. I don't know what you can expect from a QB who literally has no support from his coaches or team around him. The offense and red zone offense were bad long before Orton took over. The guy has never been an elite QB, and he still isn't. He needs help from his run game to keep the defense honest. When the Bills have a solid O line, and run game then complain all you want about the QB. Things are only going to get worse for KO if the team has no run game.

  16. Deion is right, and I only wonder how long before we can see these craptastic college coaches go back to college I've been critical of Hackett since last years Chiefs game, and now after every game more and more join the ranks. If Whaley is smart he fires Marrone & Hackett tomorrow, and promotes Schwartz & Jim Hostler to HC & OC. Brings in Incognito while scrapping Marrone & Brandon's fubar moneyball analytic dept. I'd rather not see EJ starting with Hacker calling plays because he will be ruined by getting injured or severely concussed. At least Orton gets rid of the ball, and doesn't turn it over or take many sacks anymore. He is smart enough to not allow himself to be killed while completing one play.
  17. In case you are to lazy to click the link. Dion Sanders states after the game. The play calling was horrible, it had nothing to do with Orton!
  18. I get a kick out of this part, 1. The Bills announced the start of an analytics department last week. Despite Bill Polian's insistence that "Moneyball" won't work in the NFL, Marrone made it clear it will be an integral part of the team This is probably Russ Brandon still trying to save the owner some money. To carry that over onto this year was not only foolish, it was downright stupid. This is probably the entire reason for the unbelievably bad OG situation The O line guru who is about as much a guru as Chan Gailey was a QB Guru. Man 0 man, I hope Pegula can lure "the Chin" out of retirement with an offer of 8 mill per. I'm so sick of these wannabe head coaches, and the scrubs they hire for assistants
  19. The guy is an arrogant little dipstick too. I think he knows he is in way over his head and doesn't give a damn because he is just padding his resume while learning how to do his job from Kyle Orton. Now think back to last year with three rookie QB's on the roster and this bozo coaching them. The blind leading the blind with no vet QB or QB coach. Both Marrone and Hackett need to go. I hope Pegula doesn't listen to Russ Brandon spew his BS about continuity, and goes out and hires his senior adviser. Then he suggests hiring a president for the football side of the operations. Who in turn fires the entire staff except Schwartz. Whaley will take some serious heat this off season for trading away that 2015 #1 & #4 pick for a WR when the team still needs that franchise QB.
  20. The Bills ended the game with a 2.8 ypc avg with 19 rushes for 54 yards. The run game isn't working so the entire offense falls on the shoulders of the QB, and that only goes so far with a limited game planner / play caller. The red zone offense was bad under EJ, and just as bad under Orton because there is no imagination, no ingenuity from the coaches. I do agree with the OP to build a power run game. That endeavor would undertake firing this current HC & offensive staff, and hiring someone who knew WTF they were doing.
  21. First, fix the freaking offensive line to gain more then 2.8 YPC average with 19 rushes for 54 yards. Build a power run game to help the QB out even a little. Then hire an OC who can build a successful run / pass offense that can actually score in the red zone. Then lets revisit this conversation. Not even a mediocre journeyman QB who doesn't turn the ball over can elevate this teams offense all on his own.
  22. Even an experienced veteran journeyman QB who doesn't turn the ball over can't elevate this team by himself. 9 points this week, 13 last week The Bills rushes per play average for the Dolphins was 2.8 with 19 rushes for 54 yards vs 39 passes for Orton. The red zone offense was bad with EJ, and just as bad with Orton 7 penalties for 70 yards on the Bills I know I'd trade Hackett for the Dolphins OC, and I have no idea who he is.
  23. Is this site in the Bills red zone in the second half? predictably slow, and takes forever to work.
  24. He is already learning from Orton. The guy is an egotistical dipstick who is getting paid way more then he is worth, and unbelievably nobody in the FO comprehends this.
