Houston Texans Game - EJ Manuel
thewildrabbit replied to Hot Buffalo Wings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys need to consider that when the Bills played the Texans their defense was pretty ineffectual except for one facet, their pass rush. So what does brainiac Can't Hackett do, he has EJ throw 44 times vs 23 rushes for 96 yards, and again the Bills were averaging 4.2 YPC. Basically the Bills OC had EJ so often throw he forced his QB play right into the strength of that Texans defense. If the Bills had kept running the ball they could have worn out that Houston defense that was ranked 17th against the run. Chalk this loss up to our beloved (but soon to be history) boneheaded OC. Each loss has become a nightmare to watch, as either the Bills OC is trying to get the HC fired so he can be the HC or he is taking bribes from other teams to throw games. Seriously, no mentally competent person would continuously try and force his own offense to play against, and into the other teams strengths. It started with San Diego. -

Then look back at this singular season, and see who had absolutely horrid games, but then managed to get it together later on to have some stellar games. NE at Miami with a loss 33-20 to the Dolphins were they sacked Brady 4x, and NE had 9 penalties. Then the Patriots went to KC, and Brady looked like utter crap on MNF losing at Arrowhead 41-14. All the Patriot fans bemoaning that Brady was done, that the dynasty was gone. Think what would have happened if Brady had been benched! here is how that game went for NE, PUNT PUNT PUNT PUNT FUMBLE INTERCEPTION TD INTERCEPTION TD PUNT Jay Cutler of the bears had a horrendous game against Green Bay, and came back big to win this week. Andy Dalton had the most incredibly bad game against Cleveland 33 attempts, 10 completions for 86 yards, 3 INTs. worst game for a QB with a passer rating of 2.0. 2.6 yards per attempt. Now think where the Bengals would be if they benched him, as he just quarterbacked the win for Cincy in a very tough place to win in New Orleans. Trust me when I say we really don't fully know what EJ is fully capable of as he was being coached by morons who don't know the difference between a lineman who shouldn't be on the team, and a decent player. Lets not forget that mr stupid can't Hackett had EJ throwing almost double the runs 44 vs 23. Was EJ wild with his passes, and mostly ineffective? You Bet! But then so was Orton his last game. They are both products of crappy coaching. -

Gotta love how the Jets keep imploding. Sadly, I doubt Geno, Rex or GM Idzik will be with the team next year. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8326/geno-smith The New York Daily News' Seth Walder believes Geno Smith's Jets days "look to be just about over." Walder thinks Smith's chances of sticking around into 2015 are slim if GM John Idzik keeps his job, and even slimmer if Idzik gets canned. Smith had a long leash -- in today's NFL -- as Gang Green's starter, but amassed a disgusting 19:31 TD:INT ratio across 24 starts. The Jets were 9-15 in those games. Nov 19 - 11:57 AM More on this "As the Jets prepare for their final six games before the team’s owner delivers his decision, there are plenty besides Rex Ryan and John Idzik whose status with the team hangs in the balance." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-insider-jet-new-regime-article-1.2015769 and http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/mehta-rex-ryan-rescue-jets-gm-john-idzik-article-1.2014381 and NY Jets top priority vs. Buffalo Bills is to hold onto the football http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-priority-bills-hold-ball-article-1.2014385

Chuck Pagano and Mike Smith are worse than Marrone
thewildrabbit replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the team, the players, and the new owners. I just can't stand loser coaches, and I can't stand all the losing. While the defense has been terrific, they can't make up for just how bad the offense has been. Near last in almost every offensive category, and dead last in the red zone TD's. I can't wait for next seasons changes to a coaching staff that actually knows what they are doing. Its been a long frustrating 14 years, and I'm ecstatic that the Bills will finally have a chance become relevant again in the AFC East. I'm fairly sure you will see a much happier version of me next season. -
THIS JUST IN! The Jets and Bills Week 12 game at Ralph Wilson Stadium is still scheduled for 1 PM ET Sunday despite seven feet of snow expected in Buffalo. Yes, that's SEVEN FEET. Buffalo has already gotten upwards of four feet of white powder, and another 1.5 to 3 feet are expected overnight Wednesday. The Bills aren't able to practice Wednesday, as the coaches and players can't all make it to the facility. The Ralph Wilson Stadium crew has removed over 220,000 tons of snow from the playing surface. We'd think the NFL will need to decide the game's status by Thursday afternoon. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9388/sammy-watkins

I remember Buffalo back in the 70's when a huge snowstorm hit. Busses were stranded empty in the city streets for days
-
Yea, my wife was wondering this morning about how are they going to remove 51 inches of snow by Sunday.

Clearly you haven't really read anything about these new owners. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/bills-news-notes/2014/9/9/6126283/kim-terry-pegula-buffalo-bills-owners-sale-bio http://prod.static.bills.clubs.nfl.com/assets/pdf/Pegula_Terry.pdf These new owners have stated they want to win, and won't spare any expense in that process. Sorry, nobody is going to hold anyone's hand through this season. You just need to have faith that these new owners have multiple successful businesses, and know enough to hire intelligent people to work for them. I can only think that out of respect for the current president Russ Brandon who has been preaching continuity that there will be no coaching, administrative changes made this season. However, should the Bills keep fielding one of the very worst offensives in the NFL that changes should be made after the season. Kim Pegula has already been named CEO of the team, thus demoting Russ Brandon to president. Which in itself is a positive step towards creating positive separation from the football side, and the business side, as Whaley will no longer report to Brandon. Instead he will report to Kim Pegula. It has already been stated that the Pegula's will hire a football knowledgeable senior adviser http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24749471/accorsi-holmgren-wolf-candidates-to-help-bills-ownership-transition I would expect that soon after this process we will see a new president of football operations, and he will be in charge of the entire football side. Kim Pegula is the CEO, and will be in charge of the business side. If you can't see all this as positive change from the last 14 years, then I don't know what else to say...expect have some faith.
-
Yep, Wilson's words. If I can't hire you, then I'll fire you" Wilson thought he had made a decent offer to Butler, and in fact wasn't even close. Butler already had his bags packed for San Diego, but a better offer would have kept him in Buffalo. The late owner firing Polian, firing Butler, and micromanaging the team as president the last 14 years. No reputable HC wanted to be on the phone for hours a day during the season like Jauron reported was. He was his own worst enemy.

Article on Bills Handling of QB Situation
thewildrabbit replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm rather glad this coaching staff benched EJ, as I'd really rather not see him completely ruined before a new offensive staff that actually knows what they are doing takes over. I happen to like Kyle Orton, just not as the franchise QB for the next ten years. Maybe EJ is, and maybe he isn't. We won't know until next year. The 2014 Bills have shown they are coached on offense by people who don't have a clue how to build a proper offense to win games Anyway, think about last season with three rookie QB's on the roster, and no QB coach or veteran QB to help them. The blind leading the blind. -
Chuck Pagano and Mike Smith are worse than Marrone
thewildrabbit replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ahhh, one of the last Marrone lovers on this site. How nice. Why not look at just how bad the current offense is under a head coach who has all his previous experience as an ex NFL O line player, ex NFL O line coach, ex NFL offensive coordinator. Should we just call him a very crappy coach instead of a supposed guru? Then you have a head coach so determined to help his best bud on special teams by having an extra kicker on the roster just to kick balls out of the end zone. Then if that isn't enough he deactivates a decent red zone threat to have another player on coverage's for his special teams buddy. That must be one of those "Just In Case" things because he does have the extra kicker to get the ball out of the end zone. An guy who is out on the field in preseason helping coach the O line, only to field the very worst O line in the league. Yea, he knows his stuff Now I know where you stand. -
Williams, Mularky, Jauron, Gailey and Marrone
thewildrabbit replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and helped them reach the super bowl and win it. That is a little mind blowing in itself. The running theme the last 14 years is every new head coach can't figure out how to best utilize the current players on the roster, so they draft to fit the schemes they want to run. Just recently Jauron to George Edwards meant a 4-3 to a 3-4, and Wannstedt back to a 4-3. Meanwhile during that entire 14 span the team never found their franchise QB. Mostly because they were to busy drafting DB's, RB's, WR's, and anything but QB's or O linemen. -

It is! They all suck, and where are they all now, or soon to be? -
If you have been patiently waiting the last 14 years like I have, then waiting another few months isn't so bad. Just know better days are on the way.

Who do you WANT as the Bills coach in 2015?
thewildrabbit replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some people are just meant to be great assistant coaches, and I firmly believe Rex Ryan fits that mold. Exactly what would he do here in Buffalo that he couldn't have done with the Jets? I'd rather give Jim Schwartz a second chance as a HC, and hire Rex as DC. As for OC I'd rather not hire Trestman who always wants to pass, and ignores the run far to often. I'd go for someone like LSU's OC Cam Cameron to run the offense. The man would build a very powerful run game in Buffalo, and he is the OC who tutored Joe Flacco. That is if the team couldn't land Harbaugh or Cowher. -
Guys, guys relax please. The last 14 years the Buffalo were a travesty of a team since the owner fired John Butler, while also letting AJ Smith leave at the same time. He created his own mess, and fans were helpless but to watch the years of ineptitude that followed. Ex Bills GM / president Tom Donahoe was fired at Pittsburgh after losing a power struggle with HC Bill Cowher, and this owner hires him and promotes him to president. Marv levy is a HOF HC, and not a real realistic GM, and after Marv retired as GM then Russ Brandon took over as de facto GM, and let Jauron help run things The team after Jauron decided they wanted a GM, just not a real GM so they hired a 70 year old retired chief scout and made him GM Then as his first move that retired chief scout hired a head coach that was previously fired as a coordinator, and he brings a bunch of college puke assistants with him Then that GM allowed the HC who shouldn't have been hired in the first place hitched his wagon to a career backup QB for three years instead of drafting a franchise QB When that all went south the Bills hired a mediocre HC from Russ Brandon's Alma Mater who's best record was 4th in his division with an 8-5 record, and he brings a bunch of college pukes with him Seriously, what can anyone expect when the team keeps hiring turkeys that should have never been hired in the first place. Its not really anyone's fault as everyone tried their best, its just you can't rationally expect a garbage men to successfully perform brain surgery. I mean perhaps they could if allowed 10 years of schooling / training. The Pegula's didn't become multi billionaires by hiring the wrong people to help run their businesses. New ownership means we are in store for so much change. Think 30 years ago to 1984, and Bill Polian. Yea, that much impact!

2015 Draft Pick Situation
thewildrabbit replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thing the Bills have been finding so many great late round draft picks the last 10 years They had better get it right with that 2nd & 3rd this year. "So at this point Buffalo has a total of seven picks for the 2015 draft (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 7th), but they could lose one if certain statistical figures are attained by Bryce Brown for the Bills in the 2014 season." -
Ben Tate, LaGarrette Blount released
thewildrabbit replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and those coaches didn't / don't have nearly the talent the Bills have on both sides of the ball. The Bills have a top ten defense, #6 to be exact. They have some very good talent on the offense save a few positions that a better coaching staff would have addressed previous to the season. C'mon man, Jauron stunk, Gailey stunk, and now Marrone and his staff might be the worst of them all because he has more talent, and is doing less with it. On another note, sign Blount and feed him the ball until he throws up! -
While Mallett looked good in his first game as a starter for the Texans 20/30 211 yards 2 TD, 1 INT. If he continues to play well for Houston I don't see them letting him get away, as they need a franchise QB too. Nobody has a bigger arm, but then nobody is a bigger statue. As for Bradford, I honestly don't know why some think he will change teams and then suddenly change who he is. "My offseason scouting report on St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford can be boiled down to the phrase "an enigma wrapped in a riddle smothered in secret sauce." Bradford was regressing with a better line, and better coaching then what the Bills currently have. The Bills have the worst O line in the NFL, and comparable coaches. I don't see any Bills QB having great success until they upgrade the line, coaches first. http://www.spotrac.com/free-agents/nfl/quarterback/ http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000251299/article/what-we-learned-thursday-sam-bradford-regressing

Tampa WR Mike Evans is actually the leading rookie WR with that crazy 209 yard game against Washington, and that vaulted him to #10 in yards with 794 yards, 7 TD's. Poor, crappy Kelvin is only #13 with 768 yards, 8 TD's. Both players are huge redzone targets. Meanwhile Sammy is ranked #22 with 649 yards, 5 TD's. The 2014 WR draft class will probably go down as the greatest class to date.

I am not giving up on Kyle Orton
thewildrabbit replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I only hope both Kyle & EJ survive the season so the next coaching staff will be able to put them to better use -
Brandon & Whaley now have their "playmaker" they liked very, very, very much, and even a top 10 defense, where is it getting them? Season isn't over, is it.
