  1. C'mon guys, all things being equal where would you rather play, In the nice warm weather in Fla or Buffalo? Whom would YOU rather play for, a team that made the playoffs last year and has Parcells, or a team that went 7-9 three years in a row and has Jauron ?
  2. Both the NFL network and CBS did highlights on Jim Leonhard about his interceptions and fumble recoveries and kick off returns. Steve Mariucci stated he bets that the Bill would love to have this guy back. The Bills kept Jon Corto instead of Leonhard....The Bills have McCargo instead of Bannan... Oh yea, not only are the Bills coaches incompetent at game planning and calling plays in critical situations, now we see for certain that they can't evaluate talent either
  3. Marv Levy stated he didn't know Jauron before he hired him and that he only knew him from being a broadcaster in Chicago where Jauron was the head coach of the Bears. I'd be willing to wager that Jauron working for 1.5 million a year had more to do with his hire then you think. Last year's 3 coaches that were promoted from OC positions to HC were all paid 3 million a season this year, which is twice as much as Jauron is making. Admit it,Wilson didn't fire DJ simply because he would have to eat that 3 year extension while paying another coach. Yeah,he is cheap compared to the Bronco's and Buc's owner's who fire their coaches and will be paying them 4-6 mill a year to do nothing and then are willing to pay another coach big money.
  4. Someone posted it awhile back, Jauron is making 1.5 million and those three new coaches are all making 3 mill each. I highly doubt that coordinators get guaranteed contracts like the head coach does, but who knows they might and it could cost a ton more to replace most of the staff. Understanding how Ralph Wilson thinks,I'd say he would have promoted Bobby April to HC after seeing that John Harbaugh has had so much success going from a special teams coach to head coach without becoming a coordinator first.
  5. What both my post and the article in PFW are saying is that the Bills need to stop the constant shotgun formations and use play action more often. The Bills OC Turk Schonert seemed to think he had Drew Brees as his QB and not 2 young QB's who both need big help from the running game. Now don't tell me that the Bills didn't try and throw every chance they got because in fact, they did! Go back and watch that 49er game in which Marshawn Lynch had 136 yards on the ground by the third quarter. Then in the 4th quarter when they needed to run the ball, all they did was have JP Losman throw.Marshawn touched the ball ONCE! They were only down by 7 points at home. Instead of using the running backs the OC forces the back up QB to try and win the game, simply moronic! So everyone blames JP for that fumble in the Jets game, I don't. I blame the idiot who called the pass play. On second down and three the OC calls for a rollout pass play when Marshawn had just gotten a first down by running it into a 9 man box. That roll out pass play had to be the worst play call ever in the history of the Buffalo Bills. Sorry but there is no way in hell that anyone on this board can convince me that the coaching staff isn't to blame for this past 7-9 season.Between Jauron and Schonert I'd have to say those two morons lost at least 5 games for the Bills. Even Fairchild and his weird no fullback style would have done better with the improvements to the o-line and the emergence of Fred Jackson.
  6. ROFL, Just noticed the pic in your post pacpie. Richard Simmons getting a feel from SKOOBY
  7. Some of you think that all teams are equal and its the players that determine whether a team wins or loses a game! That is not the case, It takes good coaching to win also. Its not just the players executing a play or not executing the play called, its about teamwork, continuity and game plan. It is also about being able to have faith in your receivers that when a certain play is called and a receiver is supposed to be at a certain point on the field and for whatever reason he doesn't get to that spot or he is covered, the QB starts the check down process in which he looks for another receiver. This process takes time, which the Bills QB's didn't have most of the game. Its why Edwards went to his running backs and dump off passes so often. This past season the Bills offensive coordinator tried to force Edwards and Losman into a high powered 'throw every play' type of an offense and both he and it failed miserably,so most of you out there blame the QB's. You guys want to continue to blame the QB because its what you see on the field, you see that the pass went incomplete so you automatically blame the QB. Never mind the fact that the opposing team might double or triple teaming the Bills only decent receiving threat. Never mind the fact that when a team runs the shotgun formation 85% of the time its saying to the opposing team we are going to pass, try and stop us.Most of the time opposing teams did stop the Bills passing game and the Bills OC just kept calling shotgun plays and trying to throw. Its my take that the lions share of the Bills offensive problems this past year where due to the play calling and not just the QB and receivers. I'm not the only one who thinks this way either, per PFW Bills' offense ought to take Dolphins' lead,by Matt Sohn This much is clear: (1) Serious schematic changes need to made to the Bills’ offense. (2) Offensive coordinator Turk Schonert is sticking around after having flopped in his first season in the post. But the high-octane passing attack that Schonert, a former quarterback and QB coach, aims to implement might not be the most appropriate course of action. In looking at the Bills’ offensive personnel — most of which remains static heading into ’09 — the similarities to the Dolphins’ personnel, which operated a ball-control system that worked so effectively, are striking. Like Miami, Buffalo is led by a cerebral quarterback whose arm strength is questionable; both have a pair of tough, multifaceted running backs; and both have just one deep-speed wideout. The way we hear it, taking a page from their rivals to the south, who employ liberal use of the “Wildcat” and creative pass patterns underneath — would go a long way in stymieing the team’s offensive demise. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm
  8. whiney crying Giants fans, jeez they just won a super bowl and complain about their SB MVP QB... poor them. Eli is gonna cash in like crazy and he deserves the money he will get. Like someone mentioned earlier, Blame Plaxico Burress, he probably cost them this years SB and not Eli. The Bills would have been so much better this season if the rookie OC called more running plays to take pressure away from Trent Edwards. Keep the offensive game plays simple and limit them to about 25 total plays. Edwards was in the shotgun formation more then he should have been and the Bills didn't utilize play action passing nearly enough. Not to mention what the Bills could do with a power running game AND another receiver comparable to Lee Evans and a speedy tight end. They had the running game this past season and simply failed to use it enough.
  9. Its all about the money and always will be with Wilson! Jauron is getting 1/2 as much as three new head coaches hired last season from a coordinator position,Harbaugh,Smith and Spagnulo. Then he would need to eat Jauron's contract for 4.5 mill while paying someone else, never happen.
  10. I disagree,Pioli has won NFL executive of the year twice now, Donahoe?. Pioli is probably THE best and most highly thought of personnel man in the NFL ATM. Several teams tried to hire Pioli last year and he turned them all down. It was after his understudy at NE,Thomas Dimetroff did so well at Atlanta this season that he gained the desire to leave the Patriots. Donahoe lost a FO power struggle with Bill Cowher before he departed from the Steelers so his stock had fallen greatly, perhaps Ralph Wilson regarded him very highly, if so that was his undoing.
  11. That is the guys biggest problem IMO,he holds the ball low and slings it side arm almost, his delivery is horrid. What made Marino so great was his ability to get the ball out so fast that DB's didn't have time to react, this guy is almost the opposite.
  12. Chew on this thought... The Bills coaching staff let Justin Bannan go and let Jim Leonhard go, both are starters on that Raven team playing in the AFC championship game! The Bills have John McCargo and Jon Corto instead of Leonhard and Bannan. If this Buffalo bills coaching staff can't determine who to keep and who to let go, how can you trust them to make good choices in the next draft. Not only do they not know what they are doing on game day, they don't know how to evaluate talent either. Oh yeah, my off season just got better
  13. This could be great news for Bills fans as it disrupts a very high scoring Pats offense. He is 32 years old and this just makes me think that there might be hope for the Bills to beat the Pats next season, depending on who they will hire to replace him of course. Doubt they will get any better then they were, but it is possible. Shanahan stated at the beginning of the year he was copying the Patriots passing scheme for the deep passes the Pats used to get the ball to Randy Moss.
  14. The Bills should file a grievance against the Panthers for allowing Turk Schonert to call their plays
  15. If Jauron is willing to keep Jon Corto and John McCargo over Jim Leonhard and Justin Bannan it is very clear to me that this guy fails at evaluating talent as well as being a head coach. No wonder the Bills pass rush sucks... If Wilson doesn't notice this, then he has problems also. GREAT!!! Now I can't even have a decent off season trusting that this Bills FO and coaching staff will get some decent new talent for next season.
  16. He sure is one scary lookin mo fo,it kinda freaked me out when I noticed his eyes! I thought, Satan plays for the Titans
  17. If Kurt Warner plays like he did in the NE game earlier this season, what with the cold weather in NY or Philly I doubt they will advance.
  18. Apparently you didn't watch the Cards vs Pats game this season...If he has to face the cold in NY or Philly and plays like he did in NE I think you will may change your mind about Warner. Stating that, I'd think the Patriots would love to see the guy come to Buffalo,no way he will though.
  19. Justin Bannan is the starting LDT and Jim Leonhard is the starting SS for the Ravens, the team going to the AFC championship game. The Bills still have McCargo and Corto, good job Jauron...
  20. You must have missed that Cowboy game this year, they played pretty well, also they beat the Dolphins 31-10
  21. I was responding to these posts in column #5 about the injuries that occurred during the 08 season. Not for nothing, but I don't blame Jauron for stacking the secondary with Tom Brady and Randy Moss in the AFC East. I know its been mentioned already but Jauron is probably still shell shocked from all the Injuries TO THE SECONDARY last season, the Bills actually had walkons off the street on the field at times they were so desperate. Does posting it like this make it easier to understand what I was trying get across?
  22. OK Beerball' I'll answer your question,"How long do you think the shell shock will last? We're 12 months removed from the 2007 season." Where in my statement did I say that his crappy coaching for the 08 season was because he was shell shocked? How do you deduce that I'm in any way making an excuse for him for the entire 08 season? I basically stated that Jauron has tried to beef up the bills secondary because of the fact that the Bills took such a tremendous beating at the hands of Tom Brady and Randy Moss and the Patriots in 07, to the tune of 56-7 and 38-10. And yeah, he is still probably seeing Brady throwing touchdowns to Moss in his nightmares. If you want to take sentences out of context and misconstrue them to fit whatever misplaced anger you have built up because Jauron is STILL the head coach, feel free! Just don't expect to automatically get an answer to a moronic question.
  23. Ummm, how do you possibly equate the Buffalo Bills to the NY Giants? If only the Bills had David Tyree in those 07 games to catch a football on his helmet
  24. Why not quote the entire post ? Perhaps Brady to Moss doesn't mean much to you ...considering the Bills faced the NFL's most prolific passing offense 2x a year. Dunno, maybe the 56-10 and 38-7 losses to a team that went undefeated in 07 mean nothing to someone of your stature, have another
  25. Anyone ever see the move "Transformers"? Near the beginning of the movie the father takes the son to buy him his first car because he had gotten good grades. The father drives into a Porsche dealership and the son freaks out because he thinks he is getting a Porsche. The father laughs at him and says you really think I'm buying you a Porsche... Then they drive into a used car lot and he buys his kid a PoS used car for 4 grand. Later at the home the kid gets into his car and drives away while his mother and father are working in the yard. The used PoS car belches a huge black cloud of exhaust and the mother turns to the father and says... WOW, you are so cheap. All I can think at that moment is,that father has nothing on Ralph Wilson
