I'd have to say as much as I'd like the Bills to draft Pettigrew with that #11, with Kelsay and Parrish on the trade block and losing Jason Peters to the Eagles. The Bills will draft for NEED as usual and take what player best fits that need that is still there. The Bills NEED a DE-TE-OLB-OT Everything depends on what the Lions do,if they forgo Stafford for Curry or Jason Smith then things will change dramatically on other teams boards best 15 players 1. The Lions head coach has recently stated they desperately need a middle linebacker,sounds like Curry could be the first pick,it would save them some money to take a LB rather then a QB. If Stafford or Sanchez fall to Buffalo at #11 I sure hope they take advantage of the situation and get some picks to drop back,even one slot. I'm hearing the Bronco's are very interested in Sanchez -

Just can't help expressing my feelings over a player that is a clear cut playmaker and performer having to take a back seat because of the draft and Jason Peters among other things. Fans have a right to express their disdain when a player they like gets treated poorly. As Tim Graham mentioned, he took a back seat to Marcus Stroud who was already under contract. This crud hits the entire media and other players read about this stuff,just makes for bad press and the Bills are already swimming in enough bad press over other players. The Bills should have stepped up earlier on Jackson,they have had time, JMO Wilson could swallow coal and a week later a diamond would pop out,the guy has a history of fish hooks in his pockets, I'm not really surprised when I read about players like Peters,because of past players like Pat Williams,Antoine Winfield, Ruben Brown ect, good young players that deserved better pay and had to leave Buffalo to get it. Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed all should have retired in Buffalo Bills uniforms but didn't because they couldn't get a deal done. Lord, poor Thurman went on to wear a phins uniform. Shoot, Jim Kelly would have become a Raider if Bill Polian hadn't pushed Wilson so hard to cough up the money to sign the kid. I'll bet Bill Polian doesn't need to work that hard anymore -

What kind of message does it send to prospective draftees and free agents that see even when Buffalo has a player that performs at a very high level and they STILL don't get paid. I could understand if if was a questionable player...but C'mon, Jackson played as well as Marshawn Lynch and should be compensated for his play. Players only have so many years and then their bodies breakdown and career over. Particularly a running back, man they take a pounding week after week. If the Bills don't pay up I'd let the 3rd string RB start the season,not sign anything and be a free agent next year. -

What most of you fail to realize is, Peters is already a pro bowl player and most NFL personnel think he is the best at a position it is very difficult even to find a player that can excel at position. When you draft a player at any position you can basically say that unless a miracle happens your going to need to develop that player for 2-3 years before he even begins to realize their potential. I wouldn't count on drafting anyone to step right in and be as good as Peters is, when he has a full camp.

They could still add some decent free agents and draft picks and all is not lost yet... The Bills could still get peters signed and in camp and happy., I'd give the guy the Salary he wants but only with big incentive clauses,he plays poorly this season,he will get paid poorly. Honestly, if he can make the pro bowl again why shouldn't he be paid as much as Jake Long? They could draft DE Robert Ayers and he could turn into a monster like Mike mayock thinks he will be OR Draft Brandon Pettigrew and help solidify that O line blocking and add another solid option to the passing game,anyone watch him catch the ball with those big paws and long arms? Granted the team will still be held back by inferior game planning and play calls, but just maybe the players can play well enough to overcome the coaching inadequacy's.

I don't agree, as much as you hate the guy and want his career to be over I highly doubt a young player with his ability will never play again. NFL QB's take way to many hits to stay upright all year long, I'll bet JP has a job paying him millions before the season starts,but after the draft. If I were him I'd wait until after the draft anyway,who wants to sign with a team only to find they drafted another QB to develop.

Sorry but Michael Lombardi is no Adam Schefter, I just don't see the Chiefs giving away a big target for their new QB Matt Cassel. Lombardi, isn't that the same moron who stated the Bills had the 12th pick in the draft?

As reported Leftwich received no signing bonus and this could simply be an elaborate smoke screen before the draft, I'm hearing that the Buc's love Josh Freeman and will draft him if they can. Once they draft Freeman they can cut Leftwhich at any point and since they gave no signing bonus it costs them nothing.

From a Redskin Fan: Now, to be fair to Casserly, Casserly did want to take Trent Dilfer and Joey Galloway in the '94 and '95 drafts, rather than Shuler and Westbrook, but Norv Turner overruled Casserly. I'd have to think that the Redskins owner also has his hand in personnel decisions, although perhaps not as much as Jerry Jones. If you watch the NFL network year round or NBC during football season you would know that Casserly's opinion is very highly regarded. The only thing I tune into that pregame show for is to hear what Cassely has to say each week. Charlie Casserly,Mike Mayock and Charles Davis know a hella lot more about college football players then Mel Kiper,Tod McShay and the flock of other bozo's who most have never even heard of,and that have websites touting their mock drafts. I'd rather trust someones opinion that I know has an actual football history rather then some unknown poster who puts up a draft site.

First of all let me correct YOU, in 08 he started LEFT DE and in 07 he started RIGHT DE,when someone says he is a one year starter at that position, it was the correct statement as he started at LEFT DE for one year. Casserly stated he wouldn't even take the guy!!! This is the same person who chose Mario Williams in 06 and was thought to be a fool for passing on Vince Evans and Reggie Bush, who is laughing now. Charles Davis likes him but stated he will get better "IF" he gets the right coaching, jeez you wanna spend millions on a guy who might work out IF he gets the right coaching? As it stands right now it looks like he would be valuable as a 3rd down pass rusher,that's it.

From another thread: After hearing this on NFL network "path to the draft", I'd think his stock is falling fast. #4)Everette Brown JR 6'4'' 250-On path to the draft Carlie Casserly called Evertte Brown a one trick pony and wouldn't even take the guy, doesn't play well against the run, doesn't shed well. Wouldn't project the guy as an OLB,as he is to stiff.Also, he played in a rotation at FSU and only played two out of every three series, and a one year starter Charles Davis says he can be a DE and rush the passer "if" he gets the proper coaching.

Yea well, Reed is making up for the first part of his career with the Bills, I'd say they were extremely patient with him as other teams might have cut him after 4 years of the drops.

It was clear to me that Bob Sanders made the difference on that colts SB team,without him they were so very horrid against the run and no way were they going to win a playoff game,with him they win a super bowl. Let's not forget the Colts also had Payton Manning as their QB and even that offense wasn't enough to overcome the failure of that defense without Bob Sanders So you tell me,do the Bills have a Bob Sanders?

You seem to be the only person on the planet with this opinion Considering there are only 2 decent DT in this years draft in Raji and Jerry and both will be gone by the 20th pick in round one. I'm not a big Raji fan or the fact that the Bills should even consider taking the guy with the 11th pick,if he has a fault it is that he cannot play every down and that he will need to be platooned. But then the Bills use a rotational system and he would certainly help keep Stroud and Williams fresh and might even take Williams job as starter,which is kinda why it makes no sense to take him when Williams has been playing well.

When you have a rookie offensive coordinator that didn't even start calling play action passing plays until the Cleveland game and even after that he rarely used play action to set up the running game. He usually opened with shotgun passing plays and kept calling shotgun passing formations even when he had a back up QB in the game. Clearly, Turk Schonert was clueless on how play action can give the offense an edge in that the opposing defense isn't totally certain as to whether it will be a run or a pass. The shotgun formation was designed specifically for when teams are in clear passing situation such as 3rd and long and 4th and long and both teams know a pass is coming. The shotgun formation seems to be in vogue for the really good teams like the Patriots and Jets. The difference is that they have the personnel to get away with using it constantly. In the end it really screwed the Jets because when Farve injured his arm the OC just kept calling passing plays and it really hurt the team, instead of going with the running game and limiting the passing. All that said, how on earth can you expect Schonert to find ways to get Parrish the ball when he couldn't find ways to get Lee Evans the ball, who was the Bills primary receiver. Schonert failed last season on so many levels it is almost comical. First he is on the sidelines,then up in the booth,no matter where he went he kept calling offensive passing plays like he had Tom Brady or Drew Brees as his QB and not a 2nd year player still learning the job.
