  1. The Raiders lost to the NO Saints today, 45-7 and that 7 was just luck
  2. Offense looks horrid, not ready at all. Makes you wonder what they have been doing for the last month. JP where are youuuuuuuuu.....
  3. It could be worse,we could be Raider fans...
  4. Brady just getting some rust off...Moss subbing for injured Welker on s-underneath stuff, and looking great. Pats run game working, short passing game to RB's working.Pats defense getting pressure on Campbell, Redskins O line in better shape then Buffalo's... Joey Galloway getting some much needed work to learn proper routes and get in sync with Brady Orakpo looking like he will start the season opener for the Skins...
  5. It is not a gimmick, the Bills want to utilize the no huddle in an effort to keep Trent from getting killed later in the game should they want to attempt some passing. The Bills coaches are hoping the opposing defense will be so tired that they don't rush as hard and the no huddle run properly should limit defensive substitutions. From what I've seen 2 things concern me, 1st: The Bills need to HURRY to the LoS and not just mosey up to it because opposing teams will HURRY substitutions on after a play. I've noticed that the Bills are very slow at getting lined up this defeats what the 'no huddle" offense is trying to accomplish. 2nd: The Bills players conditioning, it appears to me that the Bills have not been in proper condition since Rusty Jones left the team. The Bills used to be able to go down to Miami in September, with the temp and humidity in the high 90's and outperform the Dolphins. Perhaps the Dolphins are in better condition now under their new coach. But I've noticed that the Bills seem to be the players who are gasping for air now and not the other teams players. Running the no huddle requires your players to be in top condition, so that they don't wear out before the other team does.
  6. The Bills were going to draft Big Ben and the Steeler's took him at #11, the Bills traded up for JP.
  7. The thing is, that no matter what argument you make for your case he will ignore it and happily move along. This coaching staff isn't responsible for the development of Trent Edwards,no matter what system you throw a player into they should be able to preform at a high level. Its always the QB's fault and never the coaches, other players, schemes or play calls. Big Ben was the most sacked, played with one of the worst O lines and had virtually no running game and yet he took his team to the SB and won it, every QB should be like Big Ben.
  8. From a Wade Phillps interview I watched he stated he didn't quit, he was under contract and Ralph Wilson told him either fire the special teams coach or leave, he left. Wade considered himself fired and didn't go after the contract money that was due him. Al Davis is notorious for not paying coaches contracts, just ask Mike Shanahan and Lane Kiffin. If RW wants DJ gone, he is history.
  9. When there is enough fan outcry and every new post is about who to replace Jauron with... The thing is, I really honestly hope this young team can pull it together and win a bunch of games and shuts everyone up about how bad the guy is, he is due for another one of those 12-4 seasons.
  10. When the Bills can't make a first down running or passing and cough the ball up to Tom Brady & co every 4th down, how can you expect a close game? The first string offense has yet to score a TD,says it all. Mind you, everyone will be ecstatic when the Bills are able to score at will against the Detroit Lions in the last preseason game and will forget the ineptitude up to that point.
  11. I tried to find the post where I had read that quote from, haven't found it yet. Thought it might have been in one of PFW posts, I'll keep looking.
  12. These Troglodyte Bills coaches had a gunslinger in JP and couldn't coach him up to an NFL level, the guy was a rising star at the end of 06, any QB these clowns get there hands on will never amount to anything. Ever hear the old adage, "you build your team around your best players and find their best abilities and utilize them"? Don Schula used the best running attack in football to win super bowls, Jim Kick, Larry Csonka, Mercury Morris. When he drafted Dan Marino he found he had a diamond in Marino so he went and opened up the passing game. Trent Edwards would be perfect for a "west coast" offensive scheme, short well timed passes, like an extended hand off. Instead this staff wants to call deep 5-7 step drops that will get him killed with the crappy O line the Bills have.
  13. Let me tell you about the preseason, watch the first stringers. If they come out and play like crap in the preseason, you can rest assured that they will play like crap once the regular season starts. The starting offense has yet to score a TD, the Packers made the starters look like no nothing college puke's going against NFL players. This board is for venting our frustrations on what we see, so why don't you shut your pie hole about what others post! Find a thread were everyone is gushing about how great the Bills will play against the Patriots in week one, IF you can find one. Better yet, go start one.
  14. You never know what a man will do until you actually speak with him. President of the team would certainly carry more title and weight then just GM. RW was willing to hire Tom Doh'ahoe as president, why not the " wizard of oz" as Bills team president. And when the Ravens have had a high pick, they haven’t missed. Of the seven players chosen in the top 10 by Baltimore, five (Ogden, LB Peter Boulware, CB Chris McAlister, RB Jamal Lewis and LB Terrell Suggs) have earned Pro Bowl accolades. Additionally, Baltimore has picked in the bottom half of the first round with uncanny success: Lewis has twice been named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year; TE Todd Heap, chosen 31st, has been to two Pro Bowls; Ed Reed, the 24th pick, has gone to Hawaii five times and also earned NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/People/Staf...ie_Newsome.aspx
  15. I think RW shares you're sentiment, he just hasn't found the right guy to run his team. Don't forget Marv Levy endorsed the tool at the helm so he might be inclined to give him more leeway then others would. Jauron has the ability to lead, he just makes the wrong choices on assistants, schemes and players. Something that a really football savvy GM / president would correct.
  16. I'll say the Bills should steal Ozzie Newsome away from the Ravens and pay him whatever he needs, its the only way to be sure.
  17. Amen The Bills might be in line to get that 1st overall pick after this season if Jauron stays the entire year, so the Bills will have their choice of QB's to choose from. If Jauron is still in charge,he will find the Todd Blackledge and draft him...
  18. Not so fast, Next season the Redskins and Cowboys will have a bidding war for Cowher and make him the highest paid NFL coach ever, 12-14 mill a year. He now resides in Raleigh, North Carolina to be near his daughter who attended school and played basketball there, but now that she graduated, who knows what can happen. RW will have none of that, the Bills next head coach won't make more then 4 million, so that leaves less options then you may think. The Buffalo Bills are the Costco- Walmart of the NFL. As I've stated in other posts I'd like to see RW hire Marty Schottheimer out of retirement to take over the Bills, heck he could start 1/2 through the season if Jauron is fired at the Bye. I'll take 12-4 over 7-9 any day
  19. Ralph Wilson is more football savvy then most realize, he wanted Jauron to fire Turk Schonert at the end of last season and Jauron said no and cited "continuity". He wanted to retain the same coaches and system for his young QB, thinking that the Bills can develop Edwards into a top QB, if given time. He brought in TO to help open up the deep passing game and give Edwards a big time target to throw to. Wilson watched the games last season and saw what we saw, Schonert calling some of the most lame plays ever, against some of the weaker teams, that Buffalo should have beaten. Marv Levy endorsed Jauron and perhaps that is why Mr Wilson is giving the guy more time to bring this young team around. But, I think Jauron is on thin ice at this point and should the Bills start out poorly with losses against division opponents in the first half of the season,he might be going bye bye,by the bye. 2-6 as I see it as Edwards won't make it out of NE on his feet with the current offense. At NE, L Home TB, W Home Saints, L At Miami, L Home Browns,W At Jets, L At Carolina, L Home, Texans L BYE At Titans At Jags Home Miami Toronto Jets At Chiefs Home Patriots At Falcons Home Indy If Jauron is as smart as his college degree suggests, and knowing what he see's with his O line and passing game at this point, he will make Schonert focus more on building a power running game to protect Edwards and setup the passing game with the run.
  20. The Bills O line is still a major concern, they simply haven't played together long enough to gain any kind of continuity and the stunts and blitzes the Patriots will throw at them will completely overwhelm them because they just haven't seen enough action together, and I highly doubt the coaching staff will prepare them for what they will see. The passing game is still a work in progress, with TO being hurt these last few weeks, Trent Edwards simply cannot build a passing rapport with him, they both need to learn each others nuances and tendencies. The Bills still lack a dominate tight end, fullback, pass rush and rushing attack, and in my view the team is still very much a complete mess across the board, because I dislike their offensive and defensive schemes, the Tampa 2 and the Mike Martz offense stink. Everything has to do with confidence and the Bills just don't have much at this point, Green Bay is a good team and they tore the Bills a new one. The Patriots should be a great team this season...and should completely destroy Buffalo, which might have lasting ramifications for the season. Other teams will see exactly how Belichick plans to exploit the Bills weaknesses and do the same, week after week. Its a good thing Schonert installed the no huddle because it seems most every team in the NFL is now utilizing some form of it and the Bills defense will see it often,so it is good that they practice against it in camp.
  21. Let's not forget that Turk Schonert is the understudy of Steve Fairchild, who trained 3 years under Mike Martz in St Louis. Which NFL team is Mike Martz currently coaching at? head coach somewhere? OC somewhere? assistant coach somewhere? He is currently unemployed in the NFL and doing broadcast stints. Here is the man who was the offensive coordinator for the "greatest show on turf" in St Louis, and not employed in the NFL? He was the head coach in St Louis after Dick Vermeil retired 2000, by 05 fired . Detroit Lions OC 06-07 fired, SF 49ers OC 08 fired. If you watched his game plans with the Rams, Lions and 49ers he was constantly getting his QB killed by his play calling. Wanting to hit the big play with 7 step drops when the opposing defense has the receivers covered and windows are tiny to get the ball to them, unless they beat their man down field and are wide open... Sound familiar? Kurt Warner made Mike Martz look great by his decision making and quick release and accurate throws, Warner would make any OC look great. Last week against the Bears it had looked like Schonert had turned the corner on the Martz system with those quick slant passes and crossing routes over the middle, some really good play calling. Then this week he reverts to his old style of making the QB look horrid and getting him killed. JMO
  22. If you look at what the Bears did this week against a really good NY Giants defense, compared to what they did last week against the Bills defense you will notice that the Bears were missing some key players. Most notable was Matt Forte, their star RB, this week the Bears made that great Giants defense look horrid. I would think that the addition of TO to the offense will make a huge difference in terms of Buffalo's down field passing. The problem I see is with that O line and their inability to hold blocks for the passing game and run block for the rushing attack.
  23. The thing is, this is payback for 06 pre season when the Packers came to Buffalo for a pre season game and the Bills lambasted Brett Farve. The Bills scouted and game planned for those Packers and blitzed Farve a ton and really gave him a tough time. The Bills didn't game plan this year, and it showed big time. The Packers game planned, and it showed big time. After watching this game and knowing that Bill Belichick will have new blitz packages installed just for Trent Edward's leaves me thinking that the Bills will look just as bad against the Patriots as they did against the Packers
  24. The problem is, Jauron and the front office can't evaluate talent properly so they can't build a team that can win with his scheme. The keys to running a great 4-3 is the line, great 3 tech DT and great DE's. The Bills have Stroud and Williams in the middle but are seriously lacking great DE's, they don't even have one great DE right now. Which is why they went after Maybin at #11, but is this kid another ***** ******* type who looks like Tarzan in college and plays like Jane in the NFL?
