Given the fact that Ralph Wilson likes to hire people near his own age, I wouldn't be surprised to see him hire Dick Vermeil. At least the guy is a winner and knows the difference between a good offensive coordinator and a bad one.

I knew I'd be dancing in the street... /signed Turk Schonert OH WAIT... that bastage fired me so I can't be named head coach ... ... ... ...

How the F did we lose to Cleveland???
thewildrabbit replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would be wrong! The very first thing the Colts new head coach Jim Caldwell did was fire the defensive coordinator and declared the Tampa 2 was gone with Tony Dungy. Yea, the Colts are a perfect example of what the Bills can expect when they dump the Tampa 2 as the Colts defense improved greatly this year after getting rid of it. As a matter of fact the Colts defense depended on Bob Sanders so much that they were horrid against then run when he didn't play, now he is on IR and the defense is still playing strong without him. -
Who from top to bottom would you keep?

The Bills have enough talent to win every game, no question. Well maybe the O line is screwed this year because Jauron and Co refused to bring in any decent free agent tackles. Still, with the proper offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator, different coaches and schemes this team could easily be 5-4 if not better. The only people I'd get rid of are standing on the sidelines every game, Skeletor goes first -
Calling out Ralph Wilson!
thewildrabbit replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suppose we can vent all we want at Ralph Wilson and he doesn't care. As long as the stadium is filled every home game and fans keep buying merchandise he will keep smiling. -
Time to see if Hamdan Has any skills?
thewildrabbit replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jauron is intent on ruining Edwards for the next set of coaches, doubt he will make a move. I'd like to see any mobile QB in there running the wildcat with Fred Jackson featured. More rollouts and screens ect, anything to keep the opponent off balance and the Bills line not needing to hold a block for more then 2 seconds, as they can't hold it longer then that. -
How come ..AVP's plays fit on a 5 by 7 card
thewildrabbit replied to barbwire's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As simple as the game plan is, this current Bills offensive line can't protect the QB. Protections stink, the Bills were forced to move a guard to a tackle position because of injuries. This offense can all be put on Jauron's shoulders, he knew how horrid Turk Schonert was and he kept him after last season. So then he promotes someone under Schonert two weeks before the season starts, this guy is so afraid to hire someone decent to coach the offense because they will take his job. -

Tampa 2 defense, worst in the NFL against the run...The Browns completed only TWO passes that entire Buffalo game and still won 6-3. Dick Jauron should have been fired right then, I knew the season was a total wash after that game. If Wilson is the only one that can fire Jauron, I wish his wife would have woken him up long enough to watch that game. P.S. I really hate the Buffalo defensive scheme with a passion, all off season all I did was complain how bad the Bills are against the run and then they draft a 255lb DE with the first pick. I look forward to the day Jauron gets fired, what a waste of 4 years in Buffalo Bills history. -
Go Saints, they have never even been to a super bowl. I'd like to see them get there and win it. If not them then the Vikings or Bengals.
-
And you think that because the Bills have a low round draft pick they will pick a player that is actually decent...doubtful This franchise without Bill Polian will never find another Bruce Smith with that #1 pick. This Bills front office and coaching staff could draft #1 overall for 10 years and maybe, maybe find one decent player,in other words. 8 out of the ten will be DB's Only took them how many tries to find Byrd?

Byrd man -
I love it, Belichick has a Jauron moment and goes brain dead calling the fourth down play instead of a punt

Fixed... Doubtful this owner will fire one coach and still pay him while having to pay another -

That is exactly the way Ralph Wilson is looking at it, also every game still sells out... why should he fire Jauron and still pay him to do nothing? -

thewildrabbit replied to keepthefaith's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really hate to pee in your cheerios but Jauron stays this year, perhaps even next year to finish out his contract. The only way I see Wilson firing him is when the fans are storming his home in Detroit with torches like in a Frankenstein movie -
Nice dreams Why don't you guys get the fact that Ralph Wilson ISN"T going to fire Jauron unless he absolutely needs to... as every game is still a sellout in Buffalo and the cash keeps pouring in. Wilson may not even fire Jauron after this season... even if he finishes 3-13, I have serious doubts he will fire him and still pay him while having to pay another head coach. Your thinking of owners like Pat Bowlen who refuse to field a constant losing team, Wilson doesn't care as long as he makes money, deal with it!!!!!

If You owned the Buffalo Bills
thewildrabbit replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
HoFer ex Redskin RB John Riggins called Dan Snyder a bad guy with a black heart, mostly because of going after the people who purchase season tickets and then can't afford them. Also, he is a meddling owner who can't keep his nose out of the teams affairs. Snyder keeps throwing money at his franchise because he can afford it, the Bills made 12.4, the Redskins 58.1. He is a young owner by NFL standards and wants to win NOW, he just keeps listening to the wrong people for advice and making the wrong moves. The guy needs to hire the right GM and step back and let him do his job, it is also why the rumors are going crazy about Cowher, Gruden / Allen, Shanahan and Holmgren hiring. It has been rumored Snyder has already tried to hire Cowher and Shanahan several times this season. -
If You owned the Buffalo Bills
thewildrabbit replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is not pure lunacy, several NFL teams have already tried to hire him for their scouting department. He has made his desire to stay with the NFL network well known. I stated It was to hire him as a consultant and help the current coaching staff make the better decisions. Unlike the ESPN clowns, Mayock was an NFL player and has been through the complete drafting process and knows every position inside out. The guy knows talent when he see's it and wouldn't be making the mistakes the current Bills scouting staff has made over the last few years. Take a long hard look at the Steelers and the players they draft, it seems like that team is always in the playoffs and drafting in the 15-32 bracket and getting better players then the Bills drafting in the top 15. If not Mayock then perhaps hire some of Pittsburgh's scouts. -
Rule, Wilson gave you the team, but only the team and you are limited to spending only what the franchise actually earns every year. If I'm not mistaken here, didn't the Bills earn between 12.4 million last year in profit? First and foremost this franchise needs a top GM / president with a total football background. Charlie Casserly comes to mind, or someone like him. No offense to Ralph Wilson, but it almost seems like he is more interested in his thoroughbred horses and tennis then he is in his NFL team, he just doesn't get the job done as president. If you make yourself president the franchise will fall victim to your ignorance just like it has been doing with Wilson. Second, sell the stadium naming rights to the highest bidder in order to help pay for a top quality head coach and staff. Cowher, Holmgren and Shanahan will ask for more then you can afford, Jon Gruden might just be more affordable. This team needs an offensive playbook change to the west coast offense. Dunno about the rest of you but I'm sick of a coach the players love, chuckie rules. Third, Put in a grass field and pay a crew to maintain it. It will pay for itself with less injuries to the players, less turf toe and torn ACL's Fourth, hire the best trainers in the NFL, this current staff stinks. The players always look overweight, always battling injuries. Edwards should be wearing the Patriots style mouth piece, state of the art equipment also means less concussions and injuries. Perhaps hire Rusty Jones back, it used to amaze me to see the Bills go to Florida and out perform the Dolphin players in 90+ degree heat. Fifth, hire the best assistant coaches you can afford, people like Mike Nolan for the defense and Cam Cameron for the offense. The Colts made the transition away from the Tampa 2 this season and the defense is much improved. Sixth, hire Mike Mayock as a scouting consultant to help build through the draft like the Steelers and Patriots. I'd be happy to spend every penny the franchise earns to build a team that could actually contend for a playoff spot each year. P.S. I know most will say first thing on anyone's agenda is FIRE JAURON! Bills fans will be dancing in the streets when this happens, pretty sure Turk Schonert will be one of them

Where have all the Cutler lovers gone?
thewildrabbit replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point about Orton vs Cutler, the thing is you just can't compare the Bronco's offense to the Buffalo Bills. Lets not forget that blind side safety blitz that caused the severe concussion in Arizona, nobody even tried to pick that blitz up and nobody was even smart enough to shout "fire fire fire" to warn of the blitzer. This season AVP had literally no off season to prepare him for that job and is just winging it as he goes. The Bills O line on the ends is simply horrid, worst line in the NFL because of the tackles. 29th in total offense and 30th in passing. This Buffalo Bills offensive coaching staff must be the laughing stock of the NFL, even the Lions are way better with a rookie, only Cleveland and Oakland are worse then Buffalo in passing. -
Does a team need to hit rock bottom to become great
thewildrabbit replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Naa, some teams have stunk for years and gone nowhere even drafting #1 over and over. The Saints, Lions, Jags, Texans, Browns have never been to a super bowl. Some teams like the Cardinals have been at rock bottom for decades and only recently when the owner (Bill Bidwell) let his sons take over did the organization finally become decent. How many years have the Cleveland Browns been drafting in the top 10 for? -

thewildrabbit replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutler is a gunslinger very much like Brett Favre. Now where would Farve be if he hadn't been trained in the west coast offense with people like Jon Gruden and Steve Mariucci as his QB coach, Mike Holmgren as his head coach. Holmgren used to hammer on Brett all the time about his passes and play call adjustments. Players like Cutler need a Mike Shanahan to reign them in and keep them pointed in the right direction, which he clearly doesn't have in Chicago. -
Firing Jauron won't be enough
thewildrabbit replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WRONG! Wilson isn't going to fire Jauron and still pay him in 2010 while he pays someone else to coach the Bills. Even if They fall to 3 and 13, the Bills and Bills fans are stuck with that loser for another year. Wilson gets the cash and Bills fans get DICK! The FO will put up some amazing spin on things like hiring a new offensive coordinator, or bringing in a new hot free agent. All the eternal optimists will return around the next draft and start thinking this team has a chance with some new young players... Lets face facts, as much as I admire Wilson for keeping the Bills in Buffalo, things might not change at all until ownership changes. -

thewildrabbit replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What you see with Jay Cutler in Chicago is what you would get if he, or any other QB had came into Buffalo to supposedly be an upgrade. You guys gotta realize the Bills have a horrid O line that can't sustain a running game nor protect the QB properly. They have an equally horrid offensive system that fails to get the ball into the WR's hands enough. I'm hoping that Wilson hires a coach with a west coast background to completely overhaul the offensive system...at some point. Still, Cutler is 4th overall in passing yards and Edwards is 30th, but I doubt Cutler could throw while sitting on the sidelines with a concussion... -
We Do Not Have The Worst Line In The NFL
thewildrabbit replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most posters here call Trent Edwards captain checkdown, but they fail to realize that his ability to get rid of the ball to the RB is the reason this Bills team is not the worst rated line in the NFL. The Bills have improved in the middle with the new center and guards, but the tackle position has been horrible because of injuries. The Bills have some "decent' young tackles, but they can't seem to stay healthy. I'd rate this Bills line just as bad as Green Bay's and Washington's because of injuries and the replacements that are not getting the job done. If you doubt this then go back and watch that Saints game again. How many severe concussions have the Redskins and Packers allowed to their QB's the last two years?
