  1. Sorry, I gotta disagree How you develop a young QB is everything, both Trent and JP showed great promise at certain points in time. I can recall post after post in 08, before game 5, on how Edwards looked like a young Joe Montana. Even alphapr!ck made an apology post because of his constant ridiculing of Edwards after he played so well in the season opener this year. The problem with Jauron and Schonert is those two morons threw young inexperienced QB's into the fire and let them burn, they kept trying to force the QB to win games instead of making the run game work and allowing the QB to manage the game. If anything sucked from day one it was the coaching, the offensive scheme, the play calling and the O line. The Bills haven't had a dominate running offense since Thurman Thomas played, even then the Bills ran more then they passed most every year.
  2. Bills fans deserve better, last in the NFL against the run...with a head coach that had a defensive background. Then they promote the DC to head coach, what kind of idiots are running the team? Bobby April should have been given the chance to run the team, he was after all the "assistant head coach".
  3. My personal opinion is that Sam Wyche had a decent offensive mind and helped develop Boomer Easion into a top QB during his time. They started using the no huddle and had Boomer use a play called "sellout playaction" which they used very successfully. Wyche started to develop JP Losman but was fired once Jauron took over, Turk the jerk is responsible for how JP and Edwards were ultimately developed.
  4. Did you even read my post about the Bills horrific offensive problems over the last ten years? Then you state you would like Haslett as head coach because he is a person "who would bring an uncommon level of enthusiasm and appreciation for this position" . And you know this how? Haslett would do no better then Dick Jauron IMO, no matter how much he likes Buffalo he doesn't know how to develop a QB.
  5. Like I said, ask Dom Capers about that because it was his defense. Kinda tough for me to believe Cameron didn't have his hands full with the offense. They started the season with Trent Green as the starter and ended with Cleo Lemon and the rookie running the offense. Clearly the GM stunk it up pretty good also, Randy Mueller who was also given his new role that year to control personnel !!! 12 new coaches and 12+ new players on the team didn't leave him much cohesion. Cleo Lemon
  6. Show me another offensive minded coach that has developed THREE great QB's in the last 8 years and I'll back that guy also...
  7. Talk with Dom Capers about his defense while at Miami, his D allowed those points. True, Cameron drafted Ted Ginn and John Beck, but can you honestly tell me HE drafted them and not the GM? I just look at the guys history of bringing along young QB's and think... man, can the Buffalo Bills use some of that. Yea, the Bills would need to hire a good DC and let Cameron run the offense. I think the guy deserves a shot over Billick, JMO I'd have to think he would love to play the Dolphins 2x a year.
  8. I look at Jimmy Johnson at Dallas who also went 1-15 his first year!!!!!!!!! How can you define someone who was only given one year to turn a team around, Shanahan just signed a five year contract. Besides, look at what the guy inherited from the previous head coach and GM. I get a kick out of some posters who think you had better have a winning record the very first year, if that happens it is usually because the team was already good. It is what a coach does over a certain amount of time that defines them. The Jets are good this year and have a really good running game because Manginni drafted that O line his first year there, wasn't he the one who drafted Darrelle Revis? The Dolphins went to the playoffs the year after Cameron left because they were able to bring in a journeyman QB that stayed healthy, what happened this year?
  9. Shanahan and Cowher don't want to coach here, even for 10 million a year...wow Last time I looked Shanahan won SB's with John Elway and hasn't been back since. It took Elway three years to learn that west coast offense, the playbook has an enormous amount of plays in it. It is probably why Gruden couldn't get his QB's to function right away either. I wonder if Dan Snyder can wait 3 years to start winning? It took Bill Cowher how many years of drafting before he found big ben, 14 years sound about right? So if appointed the new Bills head coach he would need to hire someone to run the offense because he doesn't know how. I say screw those two, and anyone else who doesn't like Buffalo for whatever reason. Like Marv used to say, "when its to tough for them, its just right for us"! I loved the cold weather and the effect on other teams, all those 90 era playoff games in the snow and cold and some Bills players not wearing sleeves, it was awesome. The Bills need to find an astute offensive mind, someone who can actually teach a QB to progress rather then regress. Look at what has happened in Buffalo since the Jim Kelly years, the Bills offense has been 25th or worse an entire decade. Jim Kelly had Ted Marchibroda to teach him, the same guy who taught Bert Jones. An Offensive coach with a positive history of bringing along a young QB is a must for this team. I look at the guy who trained Drew Brees, the same guy who trained Phillip Rivers, the same guy who trained Joe Flacco. Jeez, with a track record like his I don't get why he isn't being looked at for head coach. The Bills need a power running game for those wintry playoff days and a good passing game for those harsh winds in RW stadium. I look at the Ravens with envious eyes and wish the Bills had a power running game like theirs, a young QB like theirs, an O line like theirs. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/People/Coac...am_Cameron.aspx
  10. I'd prefer an offensive mind over another defensive head coach, even tho Billick didn't have a great track record in Baltimore with the QB's they drafted, he knows more about an offense then Cowher ever will. The Bills have been in the toilet the last 10 years because of their poor offense!!!! 25th or worst in the NFL says it all. If I had a choice for hiring a new HC and looking around the league to rebuild the offense, I'd hire Cam Cameron and let him call plays and train someone to be OC, perhaps even AVP as QB coach. The entire offensive playbook needs an overhaul. The last 10 years the Bills QB's have come into Buffalo strong and every last one fell on their face, they all have regressed because of poor coaching. The QB situation in Buffalo needs to be addressed first thing and look at what Cam Cameron did for Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers in San Diego and now Joe Flacco in Baltimore, those three are what they are because they were trained from the start properly. Read the guys bio before you say no... http://www.baltimoreravens.com/People/Coac...am_Cameron.aspx
  11. I have serious doubts that Jauron ends up with the NY Giants considering they run a completely different defense then the Tampa 2, and want to keep it that way. Tom Coughlin is a defensive minded coach, he will find the proper guy. Chicago may hire Perry Fewell because he knows the Tampa 2, that is of course if the GM there wants to continue running that scheme. Looking at the Bills defense the last few years I dunno why anyone would want to hire Jauron or Fewell.
  12. You guys are all just talking muscles and collisions, there is more to it then that. There is overall diet and exercise, Bills players under Rusty Jones could go to Miami in the summer heat, and out perform the Dolphins. Tell me how many Bills O linemen in today's game look like bloated warthogs and came to camp completely out of shape and stayed that way. I recall Jauron cut Langston Walker because he couldn't get to the line fast enough for the no huddle, Bills O linemen running the K gun had no problems because they were in the proper shape. Rusty Jones used to allow a certain amount of body fat on each player depending on what position they played. Pregame warm ups also can help keep players from injuries, players need to loosen up properly before a game. Proper coaching technique also helps, being trained on how to perform a tackle and properly execute play for your position can help eliminate injuries. Then there is equipment, improper shoes on certain fields can cause problems. The mouth guards the Patriots use are state of the art and the result is less concussions. When your team is being led by a moron it permeates throughout the team, Jauron was a moron in so many areas.
  13. If Nix has a brain he will ask Bobby April to come in for an interview for the HC vacancy,JMO.
  14. I seem to have lost some passion about the game, I just choose to watch other things besides football on some days and I have the Sunday ticket and super fan pack. For the life of me I just can't wrap my brain around the fact that Ralph Wilson owns a near billion dollar franchise and treats it like a dollar store in some aspects. Why does he not get it....and realize that time is so limited on this earth and that you need to grab all you can while you can, he has wasted so many years with some really stupid coaches and personnel.
  15. I have my doubts it will be that soon, as they have several interviews lined up. Another rumor has Brian Schottenheimer being hired as head coach and his father Marty being hired as a consultant to help his son along. Nix seems to know both son and father well from San Diego. Also Cam Cameron might have an inside track from San Diego as well as Ron Rivera.
  16. Telling stat announced during the Colts game, didn't research it to make certain its true. You would think those Bledsoe years the Bills should have been better then 25th. The Bills have been 25th or worse on offense for the last 7 years, that says it all. This team needs an offensive makeover in the worst way. Someone with a decent offensive brain, it might be why the Bills first went after Shanahan after firing Jauron. Little did the Bills FO know that Dan Snyder had been after Shanahan since week 6 this season, and tried to hire him several times over the course of the season from what I read. The Bills can interview anyone they want, if they don't hire an offensive mind they will be in the same situation that they have been in for 10 years. You guys can whine all you want about the defense, I'd like Cam Cameron or Brian Billick as HC.
  17. Seems to me that a few games were lost this season because of special teams. If it were just the fumbles it would be different, that's just bad luck sometimes. It was the players fielding punts at the wrong time, missed assignments, stupid mistakes by players who should have been coached better then they were. It almost makes me wonder if some of Jauron's stupid rubbed off on April.
  18. Bill Cowher was also supposedly putting together his staff.. The Bills are stated to have several interviews on the slate, lets see who they are.
  19. His next team will be last in the NFL against the run also, why would anyone in their right mind hire this guy for anything after what he did in Buffalo...
  20. Bill Cowher, the Buffalo Bills next head coach. This is the stuff dreams are made of...We know he is a winner, great talent evaluator, supreme motivator, I just hope the Bills also get a really good OC to build a better offense.
  21. Criteria.... He meets the has been a head coach in the NFL... he is a has been He doesn't meet the winning part, his best year was his first year, which means the team was already good. His last year at N.O. his team went 3-13... He doesn't have a clue how to run an offense, and his defense stinks, lastly he wasn't good at evaluating personnel so he looks like a Dick Jauron clone Wasn't 4 years of that bozo enough for you?
  22. Fewell might win this game but lose the job...
