I would have no problem with Schwartz as the new HC, and keeping Whaley. I squarely place all the offensive woes on the coaching staff, and their misuse of talent. Whaley has missed in trading away Stevie Johnson, and trading for Mike Williams only to have this coaching staff not use him or make him play special teams. Bryce Brown is a wasted pick so far. Giving up next years #1 pick when Odell Beckham Jr is killing it recently. So far 3 other WR's are doing better then Watkins, Mike Evans, Beckham, Benjamin. Then his biggest area of failure is with the offensive line. Last year it was Colin Brown, Doug Legursky. This year its Pears at RG, and Williams at LG who was a waste. The Bills draft an OT at #2 & #7, and the 7th rounder becomes the starter. Its like nobody in the entire Org knows a good lineman from a bad one. Whaley has been great with the defensive players, and not so good with the offensive side of the ball. Although, I can't blame EJ's failure to develop on Whaley, as no QB has done well under this offensive coaching staff.

You are now the owner/manager of the Bills
thewildrabbit replied to Haef's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As the owner / manager of the Bills QB wouldn't be that high on my list just yet. 1) Hire an entire new offensive coaching staff with some decent NFL experience, and with a winning background. No more maybe, wannabe coaches. 2) Build a competent O line with two top OG's, dump Pears, Williams, and perhaps keep Urbik as a backup OG / C. Build a strong run game to complement the passing game, and have them actually use it 30 times a game. 3) Have my D line go full bore into the new O line, and against the current QB's to see if they can get the job done. If they can 100% compete against Dareus, Williams, Williams, Hughes with Kiko, then they can compete against any other team. If the QB's fail to score then a new QB would be needed. I don't think Foles would be high on my list to trade for anyway. -
What Loss Hurt the Most?

I voted KC as that game was entirely winnable, and next up was Houston. The Bills could, and should have won both games. -
Refs Fist Bump After Broncos TD
thewildrabbit replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, they were acknowledging all that cash that Peyton gave them to let the Broncos win. Some of those calls were just outragous -
Thankfully the decision to keep Marrone, Hackett or any other offensive coach isn't up to the fans. The Bills are fielding a championship defense that scared the hell out of the Broncos so much that Manning only threw 20 passes all game, and ran it 29 times. Marrone might have hired Schwartz / Pettine but that's about all he did, as his forte is the offense. The offense is still one of the 10 ten worst. The Bills O line is still one of the worst in the NFL. The Bills aren't even trying to run the ball this year. The entire offense is placed squarely on the QB, and how is he to win games with no run game, and a bad line? I for one hope the Pegula's fire the entire offensive coaching staff. I think the change to the offense with quality offensive coaches will be like Schwartz has been verses George Edwards / Dave Wannstedt was to the defensive side of the ball.

Hackett.. Screen Salesman of the year/ K Gun is Dead
thewildrabbit replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills run game was actually working at the start of the game, and the play calling was something we haven't seen much of either. Fake reverses, end around to Goodwin. I was wondering if Marrone was calling the offensive plays. But then once the Bills were down by two scores the real Hackett emerged, and nothing but pass plays the rest of the game. What team wins games by throwing 57 times vs 16 rushes? -
Orton sliding one yard shy of the 1st down.
thewildrabbit replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously, what do you guys expect with no run game, and even when its working like it was against Denver they simply stop running it. Then the Bills are still fielding a very bad O line. 16 rushes vs 55 passes...jeez What NFL QB could succeed behind a bad O line with no run game. Bills fans bitched about JP, about Trent, about Fitz, about EJ, and now about Orton. Yet in all this time they still don't have a viable line to protect the QB better, or a viable run game to take the heat off the QB. The difference between Denver, and Buffalo is the Denver coaches took the game out of Peyton's hands and put it in RB CJ Anderson's hands. Denver, 29 rushes vs 20 passes. Buffalo, 16 rushes vs 57 passes. Every time I see an NFL QB throw that many times its almost always in a losing effort. Plus Denver actually has a higher ranked defense. Then notice that the Bills defense didn't even hit Manning, much less sack him. Which team played the smarter game? -
Orton sliding one yard shy of the 1st down.
thewildrabbit replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Orton is a better QB then Fitz, and perhaps the sacks / hits are taking their toll on the guy. You are right tho in that Hackett is f'ing him up tho. All QB's regressed under Hackett. Tuel, Lewis, EJ, and now Orton. This season Hackett morphed into a lousy version of Gailey who always wants to pass 40+ times a game, only with no run game this year. 546 rush attempts last year vs 343 this year. As much as everyone now seems to hate Orton, the guy is carrying the entire offense on his shoulders every single game. 14 TD's to 7 INT's, and he is 5-4 in Hacketts effred up offense with a bad O line. I'm not going to condemn the guy for leading the Bills to a 17-24 loss in Denver with all those bad calls by the refs. Orton actually out played Peyton Manning. EDIT: just to add. The bills get down by two scores and the run game that was working well, and keeping Manning with the bronco offense on the sideline. I was wondering with the fake reverse, the end around, and the better run game if Marrone was calling the offensive plays? Then the Bills suddenly stop running the ball and put the entire game on Ortons shoulders again. The bills with only 16 rushes for 74 yards, a 4.625 YPC average. Which BTW was better then the Broncos average. Orton 38 of 57 for 355 yards, one TD passing, one TD running, 2 INT's. -
why, do you have a death wish for EJ behind that near worst in the league line? The current coaches have clearly shown they can't coach up anyone or anything on the offensive side of the ball. The offense was bad long before Orton took over. The have QB's regressed under Hackett. The O line has regressed, and some of the players we all thought would be pro bowlers are stinking it up this year. The run game regressed. The Bills OC can't stop calling pass plays even against some of the best pass defenses in the league. Changing QB's won't save this team from its fate

Marrone Hackett Seal Their Fate
thewildrabbit replied to coltrane34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I usually hate Hackett, and dislike the way Marrone runs his offense. This game I can't complain about anything other then the knuckle bumping refs who gave the game to Denver. The Bills found it impossible to beat the broncos at Denver, and beat the bad calls at the same time. Mysterious invisible calls on the two INT returns.11 penalties for 98 yards. Orton looked like crap, but then he out played Manning. Speaking of Manning his uni was as clean at the end of the game as when it started, as he never even got touched....much less hit. -
The Bills actually played better then I expected. For those blaming it all on Orton, yea he did suck at times, but he out played Manning. 38 of 57 355 yards one TD, 2 INT's (18 first downs passing), 9 of 16 3rd down conversions) No sacks by the defense, big plays allowed by the defense. The Denver defense was ranked higher then Buffalo and it showed. The Bills found it impossible to beat Denver at Denver, and beat the refs at the same time. The freaking zebras with their knuckle bumping, with some of those mysterious invisible bad calls on the returns. 11 penalties for 98 yards

whats crazy is the stats for Orton vs Manning are almost exactly the same.22/30 172, 2 ints vs 12/18 164 2 ints Denver is getting 6.0 yards per rush, and 9.1 yards per pass -
