I h8 to break it to ya but... The Ravens aren't about to let Gaither go, they will simply match any offer he gets. The Ravens now have Anquan Bolden so the reports about wanting Dez Bryant must be very old. Also, he doesn't fit the mold of a guy they would want to draft, not high character. Why would this new Bills regime want to trade for a problem player like Brandon Marshall? I would think that the coaching staff has enough problems without compounding them with a head case. Donte Whitner and Marshawn Lynch will be traded before preseason starts if not sooner. In the draft I see them watching how everything falls, if there is a top LT there then they grab him at #9, if not, things could get very interesting. As for the second round I see taking Tim Tebow if he is still there. JMHO

Jason Campbell to sign his tender
thewildrabbit replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, why aren't other teams that really need a QB going after the guy? I'd rather the Bills not waste a 4th rd pick that could be used on a good young player, this draft is to stacked to waste those picks. -

Don't you think Mike Shanahan has an astute offensive mind? Considering that most teams would want a competent solid veteran back up QB in case the starter get injured and if Campbell is as good as you seem to think he is, it simply makes no sense as to why a brilliant offensive mind like Shanahan would dump the guy. Think about it, if Shanahan thinks he can't coach up Campbell to be a winning QB, what makes you think Chan Gailey can? Why aren't other teams that really need a good young QB going after him-Rams-Browns-Raiders-Arizona-Minnesota-Jacksonville-Carolina? -

What would it take to be good this year?
thewildrabbit replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep, and I'll add I look at two currently successful NFL teams and hope the Bills would build a team similar to those two, the NY Jets & Baltimore Ravens. Neither of those two have a superstar QB that is on an elite level...yet. Both are winning games the old fashioned way, run the ball and great defense. Simply go back and watch that AFC Wildcard game at New England in which winning QB Joe Flacco only threw 4 of 10 for 34 yards. The Ravens running game made Pats fans cry First, max importance is to upgrade both tackle positions and the center. Get a line coach and train him to understand blocking and protection schemes and know the different NFL defenses and get that O line, TE's and RB's all included into proper schemes and technique to protect the QB. Gailey has stated they will change the terminology which is a good thing considering how Belichick scouts others teams, I'll bet he has a Bills play book and knows every play they have run the last 4 years by heart. -
the pistol offense
thewildrabbit replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not for nothing but doesn't the writer of the article state that the "spread" offense is the "new" offense for the NFL? Didn't Tom Landry utilize the spread offense for Rodger Staubach and run that offense in the 70's and 80's? He also heavily utilized the 'Shotgun" formation that Staubach could option out of, thus he was able to read the defense pre snap and decide to run or throw. No other NFL team but Dallas was using the shotgun or spread offense back then. He also refined the current 4-3 defense and the "flex' defense. Didn't the 90's Bills utilize the spread offense in their "K-gun" offense, seems to me the Bills were in a constant spread running the "no huddle". -
What do you want the Bills to do with the #9 PICK?
thewildrabbit replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yea Or perhaps even Maurkice Pouncey, as almost every position on the line needs to be upgraded. -

Funny you should say that, I've wondered if Jauron threw a dart at the board and that was their selection. Spiller has Chris Johnson type speed and can be a game changer with one play, Lynch was looked at by the new regime as trouble before he failed to attend off-season workouts, and now he might just have become excess baggage. -
Quick to rip TE and Trade for Campbell????
thewildrabbit replied to Celtic_soulja's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your entitled to think what you like and if you want to believe the Redskins O line was worse then Buffalo's, that's fine. I realize both the Redskins and Bill's O lines were bad. But, there is no way your ever going to convince me the Redskins was worse...as I watched the Bills play every game, every snap on offense. Even the "thebandit27" pointed out all the faults with the O line: I'd take Jay Cutler over Jason Campbell any day as I feel Cutler can still be coached up... same with Trent Edwards. I also wouldn't mind drafting Jimmy Clausen or any rookie because then Gailey will have a chance to train the guy right from the start. There is a reason the Redskins dumped Campbell, if he had any value to them don't you think they would have kept him? Why waste precious draft picks on a guy who couldn't win on a better team? -

If you feel that Redskins were 4-12 for some other reason other then the QB... feel free to elaborate. -

The Bills dumped him because they didn't believe his performance equaled his pay... Clearly his play was far superior to any player on the Bills O line last season -

The center play was pretty bad last year, even so... Kinda exactly why its hard to judge the QB's play on a team where the entire offense is so horrid, no QB on earth could have played up to their abilities. Let Chan the man do his stuff and see what shakes out, if the QB's all play as poorly this season as they did last season with improvements in coaching, scheme, players... then there is no doubt changes will be made. -
Mel Kiper hears "No" on Claussen to Buffalo
thewildrabbit replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My take is they draft a LT with that #9, and if there is no top LT at that time I think they will draft CJ Spiller as Lynch has worn out his welcome. If Spiller is gone also they may go for a DE. Tim Tebow in the second round "IF" he is still there, which I highly doubt. This draft class is an extremely weak for QB's and there are very few with a decent rating. So a few of them will be drafted earlier then they should be.Tebow might go in the first round. I don't see them drafting Clausen if he is there at #9. But hey, only Nix and Co really know what they want to do. -

If Campbell is so good... then why do the Redskins want to dump him, after all he had an almost identical stat line to future HoFer Kurt Warner According to the precious stats, Campbell was the 14th rated QB last year and McNabb was 17th... so why would the Redskins trade for a QB with worse stats then the one they have? Did you actually watch the first video, the one where Charlie Casserly talks about Campbell's problems with being indecisive and miss-reading wide open receivers? Or did you simply feel like badgering me because I'm defending the Bills QB's because of the poor O line play? Seems to me that Chan Gailey will have his work cut out for him coaching up the current Bills QB's without wasting draft picks on other players who have some of the same problems. -

You have various problems with comprehension I see... If you bothered to read and understand everything in my post you would have read:"quote" Last seasons Buffalo Bills O line had to be the worst line in the history of the team due to lack of experience, lack of good coaching on protections and the amount of injuries. I suppose you missed the part about coaching-protections-injuries. Must be your inability to comprehend. Last years Bills O line was a revolving door at every position except the center who played 16 games, he took 983 snaps and was rated 27th out of 34 players. T Demetrius Bell rated 74 out of 77 players and took 472 snaps. T Jonathan Scott rated 59 out of 77 players and took 489 snaps. T Kirk Chambers rated 56 out of 77 players and took 588 snaps. G Andy Levitre rated 74th out of 84 players and took 852 snaps G Eric Wood rated 65th out of 74 players and took 613 snaps. went on IR Week 1: starters are Bell LT-Levitre LG-Hangartner C-Wood RG- Butler RT Week 2: same as week one Week 3: T Brad Butler started the first 2 games at RT and then was replaced by Jonathan Scott Week 4: Bell out-Jonathan Scott moved to LT and Kirk Chambers to RT Week 5: Bell back at LT-Jonathan Scott RT Week 6: Scott out and Jamon Meredith at RT Week 7: Scott out and Jamon Meredith at RT Week 8: Scott out and Jamon Meredith at RT Week 9: bye week Week 10:Kirk Chambers starts at RT replacing Jamon Meredith Week 11: Bell out-Levitre moved to LT / Seth McKinney starts at LG Week 12: Scott moved to LT-Kendall Simmons replacing Wood at G Week 13:same as last week -Scott LT-Levitre LG-Hangartner C-Simmons RG-Chambers RT Week 14:same as last week Week 15: Simmons replaced at RG by Richie Incognito Week 16: same as last week Week 17:Jamon Meredith starting at LT replacing Scott Looking at the changes to the offensive line almost every week... can you now start to comprehend the O lines inability to gain any sort of continuity? The inability to properly protect any QB. Do you still doubt the fact that the Buffalo Bills were the worst O line in the NFL last season with 10 different starters and 9 different line changes? -

Jauron changed every player at every position on the line from the 08 season, the line was completely changed. After everything is said and done, sacks don't mean much if you have a QB like Aaron Rodgers and Big Ben who constantly hold the ball to long waiting for a receiver to break open, they scramble around in the pocket trying to make things work. So they both get sacked often and everyone thinks it is because the line is bad...hardly. If you look at it from an experience standpoint the Bills fielded 2 rookies, one backup C from another team and both tackles had limited experience. Then add in the fact that Most of them were injured on and off all year. The only player on the line that played 16 games was the center, who was rated 27th out of 34 NFL centers. Last seasons Buffalo Bills O line had to be the worst line in the history of the team due to lack of experience, lack of good coaching on protections and the amount of injuries. The Redskins had a much more experienced line, better coaching, better players. Their team losses are the result from bad QB play, IMO. No way should the Bills be looking at this guy as an upgrade over Edwards or Fitz, I'd rather the bills draft Clausen or Tebow if they gotta have another QB. The Redskins have told QB Jason Campbell to stay away from the facility during workouts and also has given him permission to seek a trade. -
Not from what I saw, although he managed to play all 16 games which was a rare feat for a Bills O linemen last season. He was rated 27th out of 34 and he allowed 4 sacks - 4 penalties -16 QB pressures and stunk at pass blocking, worst in the league. Stating that, I'm not ready to crucify him just yet, considering the player changes and inexperience of the players around him. After all it is a team game and that line had zero continuity.

The Bills defense against the run has sucked every year Jauron has been the head coach, near last year after year. Should the team just cut all the LB's and DL players and start over? Try and understand...the current Bills QB's will play better behind a decent O line... when they have actually time to throw ...and have a receiver that will actually be open. Do you get the concept of the difference between Mike Shanahan and Dick Jauron as a head coach, one has an offensive mind and the other is just offensive... Trent Edwards has shown flashes he can be really very good, like the season opener last year against the Patriots in New England. 15-25 for 225 yards 2 TD's 0 ints. The RB's had 65 yards rushing in that game. So, if not for the McKelvin fumble with 5 min to go the Bills win that game. Then the O line started sustaining injuries and line player changes and then TE regressed greatly and suffered another concussion, in the Saints game he was literally running for his life every play. There is a reason why every QB the Bills started last year started out good and then regressed. The Bills had the worst O line last year that I've ever seen in Buffalo, the ONLY player to start all 16 games was the center Hangartner, and he allowed countless sacks and stunk. I'd like to see Edwards have a chance to compete with a decent team around him. -

thewildrabbit replied to JustMaxx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We all know that the Bills QB's played horribly last season behind a horrid O line...in a bad system...with a rookie OC...with no QB coach...with Jauron as his HC... Before the team makes any QB changes I'd like to see the current Bills QB's have a shot at playing behind a decent O line, with an HC / offensive coordinator that knows what they are doing and in an offense that works. -
Why the Bills shouldn't trade for Campbell
thewildrabbit replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll never understand the football mentality with Buffalo fans, why is another teams trash better then what the Bills have? Then again most Philly fans wanted the QB that took them to the playoffs last year gone, and the kid who won two games can start...unreal. Anyone who thinks the the Redskins were the worse offensive is crazy as they had the 16th rated passing attack to Buffalo's 30th. The Bill had the 16th to the Redskins 26th rushing offense. The Washington defense was the #10th and the Bills was 21st. Campbell was the 15th rated QB in the league last year ahead of Joe Flacco and McNabb, Fitz was rated 30th and yet the Bills won more games. If Campbell is that much better then what Buffalo currently has on their roster, then why didn't the Redskins win more games, isn't it all about winning? -
Not for nothing, but why don't the Ravens want him anymore? If he were a top talent I'm pretty certain they would keep him. Why are other teams rejects good enough for Buffalo? This year there is a bumper crop of tackles in the draft, time for Nix to earn his salary.
