  1. While the draft is still not finished I'm not going to b!thch about who they didn't draft ...just yet. Although It does perplex me that they take a Reggie Bush clone with Chris Johnson speed and not address the O line at all so far. Chris Johnson would look like crap behind the current Bills O line. Perhaps they intend to line him up in the slot as a WR?
  2. Tim Tebow is a winner...in college. In the real world and the pro's he would be a 1-2 year project that may never pan out to be a top NFL QB. The Bills will address the QB situation in the 4th or 5th rounds, as well as the LT...I'm hoping. Some mackerel stated the Bills O line just got better because they drafted CJ Spiller, totally moronic statement. The Bills are still in dire need of help with the O line, if they fail to get some replacement players I can see this year as another failed season.
  3. Tebow is a 1-2 year project at QB and the Bills didn't want him, I'm hearing they don't want Clausen or McCoy in the second either. They will select a QB in the 4-5th round from what I've heard on the NFL network. They got a bit time play maker in Spiller, the team needed that.
  4. The phones around the NFL teams were all lit up after the first round ended... According to Adam Schefter the Bills were heartbroken that Denver managed to trade up and steal Tebow away. The thing is I look at Tim Tebow the same way I looked at Aaron Maybin last year. The guy is a 2 year project and could be a coach killer... simply because teams need to "win now"! The Bills still must be thinking QB, Jimmy Clausen might be more NFL ready then any other QB in this years draft, Colt McCoy is also sitting there. Rams- OT-WR-DE-TE Vikings-(from Lions) QB-SS-FS Buccaneers-WR-DE-FS-CB Chiefs-OT-TE-ILB Eagles(from Redskins)-DE-OG-ILB Browns-QB-SS-FS-DE Raiders-QB-OT-DT Dolphins(from Seahawks, thru Chargers)-DT-OLB-FS Bills-QB-OLB-OT-WR Top players still available QB Jimmy Clausen WR Golden Tate-Rams DE/LB Sergio Kindle QB Colt McCoy S Taylor Mays TE- Rob Gronkowski WR-Arrelious Benn OT-Rodger Saffold LB-Sean Lee The way I look at it the Buffalo Bills will get another really good player in round 2- OT-WR-OLB-QB
  5. Same with the NFL network, they stated that the Bills really wanted Tebow. The new GM/head coach know more about what the team needs are then the average fan, kinda sad the Bills couldn't get one of the winning est college QB's... they think would have helped Buffalo become a winner.
  6. You guys keep thinking DE all day long when the biggest need on the D is a top OLB for the new 3-4. Aaron Maybin may never make the transition from being a one dimensional pass rushing DE to a solid OLB who can rush AND stop the run, drop into coverage.
  7. Yea, that has worked out so well the last ten years. Keep building the defense so they have a #1 unit in the NFL, doesn't matter if the offense can't get close to the endzone or the QB is trying to throw from his back.
  8. C'mon guys, who has Jon Gruden mentored that has become a top 1-10 QB from the draft? ANSWER...NOBODY!! So he trained under Mike Holmgren and knows the west coast offense, his problem is he over thinks everything and sucks at developing young QB's. I wouldn't listen to anything he says about any young player about to be drafted. Shoot, has he ever drafted a QB worth anything and had them turn out to be something?
  9. They might have been starters by default, none of them were any good except Byrd, and either he was incredibly lucky or unbelievable talented. We will soon see this season.
  10. You guys hear the owner say the Bills lack talent on the field, as he was given that excuse by Dick Jauron. The truth was the Bills lacked talent on the sidelines, specifically the head coach and offensive coordinator. The Bills lack quality players at a few key positions... big needs at those positions. LT-WR-OLB-C. I'll reserve judgment on how they will do this year as it depends on how the draft and remaining free agency goes. Last pre season I predicted a 4-12 finish and Trent Edwards would not finish the season, he didn't. The only reason they did better then 4-12 is because the team rallied under Perry Fewell to win some games after Jauron was fired and Fitz played decently. Also. don't forget the Indy game where Indy pulled their starters at 1/2 time.
  11. You forgot to mention the dire need for a premier WR opposite Lee Evans. Now that the Bills have Randy Moss-Wes Welker / Santonio Holms / Braylen Edwards / Tedd Gin Jr - Brandon Marshall ...all in the division. Its a good thing the Bills have so many good players in the secondary.
  12. If you listen to Buddy Nix he seems to think the Bills have some talent and they just need to fill certain holes. I've been saying the last few years the Bills have enough talent on the field and lack talent on the sidelines to make things work properly. Almost anything the new coaches do should be an improvement on the offense. With Lynch and Jackson the only thing they really lack is a premier LT and WR opposite Lee Evans, everything else can slide to a certain extent.
  13. The morons that ran the draft and even more moronic coaches have all been fired and replaced. New coaches and new GM, lets hope for the best
  14. Jon Gruden's problem is he tends to over think the offense, to many offensive plays, and to much info for the QB absorb. His best offense is when he dials it down for a new QB, then once they are in his system awhile he bogs them down with to many plays. He wants his QB's to be as smart as he is and learn that foot thick playbook cover to cover and be able to run any play in it, JMT Tim Tebow is might turn out to be a decent QB, I just think he is a slower version of Vince Young / Michael Vick
  15. You forget that Rothlisberger had Jerome Bettis his first two years and they ran more then they threw, all he was asked to do under Bill Cowher was not lose the game by throwing INT's. He averaged around 20 throws a game back then. Since Mike Tomlin has been the head coach they opened up the offense and have thrown more and changed their entire offensive philosophy. Nevertheless, I happen to agree with you on Clausen, I was against another rookie QB at #9 when there is such a glaring need for a premier LT. But, the kid showed incredible toughness playing with that injured foot last season and still put up good numbers. He throws a faster ball then Sam Bradford and has phenomenal accuracy according to Mike Mayock. The only reason he isn't the #1 pick in the draft is because some have stated he has an maturity / attitude problem... If he is there at #9 the Bills need to take him, franchise QB's are tougher to find the LT's He has been compared to Aaron Rodgers of the GB Packers
  16. The Jets are definitely a team to be feared as they have a stout defense and solid O line and really good special teams, they finally found a GM with a brain. The only flaw is their 2nd year QB who didn't get much play in college and is still learning his craft. They could be really special in another one or two years depending on how Sanchez develops. The Patriots still have Tom Brady and Randy Moss, they can be beaten as the Ravens showed everyone how in last years wildcard game. Miami has Bill Parcells pulling the strings on his team, always a force. Tough division for Buffalo to win a division in, best team is still the Patriots if Brady is completely healthy As for me, the Jets have nothing on Miami...10 years with no wins in the Division during the 70's, and now the Patriots are getting close the top of my hate list as the Bills didn't beat them the entire 4 years ole dick was here
  17. uhhh NO! Bruce at the time was considered lazy and overweight by Hank Bullough and was constantly getting yelled at by him. Jim Kelly was "the" stud on day one, the fanfare when he arrived in Buffalo was huge, no question he was the man. Besides, Kelly spent 2 years in the USFL and was no rookie. Kelly had his attitude in Buffalo from the start, he was constantly rubbing others the wrong way. He settled down and matured after a few years and most of his teammates loved his "linebacker mentality" as he would butt heads with no helmet on and draw blood he hit so hard.
  18. Seattle just traded for Charlie Whitehurst and KC has big money tied up with Matt Casell. The only team I worry about is Cleveland, My take is they will draft Clausen after dumping Brady Quinn. If the Bills really want the guy they had better move ahead of the Browns.
  19. Yea they started to win games after they fired the moron... ya know, he might have actually overachieved of you think about it...considering his limited knowledge of an offense and the draft. About the only area he knew anything about was the secondary, even then he kept failing with his draft choices so he kept drafting DB's every year.
  20. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. does not think the Bills would select Clausen at No. 9. But Kiper is very high on Clausen and rates him ahead of Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, who is expected to go first overall to St. Louis. http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/11/1015...ne-for-the.html Yea, that silly draft analyst
  21. The thing is, even if every top OT is still on the board at #9, Okung-Williams-Bulaga, the Bills still should take Clausen if he is there. While I still think Trent Edwards can ultimately recover from the concussions and severe poundings he took the last few years on a Jauron team that didn't know how to protect him properly. Edwards may or may not recover and play well, as I see it the Bills need a QB that is fearless and unafraid to step into his throws. Chan Gaily will build a good O line IMO, even if he doesn't have a premier LT like Jason Peters was when he played well. I feel he knows enough about protections and building an offense to get the job done with decent players because he will instruct them properly. Right now the Bills should make every effort to find out which way Seattle @#6 and Cleveland @#7 are leaning so they can tab Clausen, trade up if necessary. From everything I've read, Clausen should be drafted ahead of Sam Bradford
  22. I previously wanted the Bills to draft O line and LT with that #9, have since changed my mind. Finally got some time to watch the NFL network "Path to the Draft" on Jimmy Clausens pro day. Mike Mayock-Michael Lombardi- Bucky Brooks-Charles Davis all stated the kid is a top ten pick and has every ability needed to be a starting QB in the NFL. Mike Mayock- stated the kid has phenomenal accuracy and deep touch. This with his foot at 85% as he is still recovering from an injury. Michael Lombardi- stated-his work out was "exceptional", he looked better then Mark Sanchez did last year in his workout. Charles Davis- stated considering he played all year on a bad foot and still put up very good numbers, very tough kid! Still doing his pro day workout with a foot at 85%. Charlie Casserly Good workout with a lot of deep throws and very good ball speed. Better ball speed the Sam Bradford. Also stated although Chan Gailey wasn't in attendance for his pro day, Buddy Nix was. Buckey Brooks- stated his talent is amazing, can make all the throws, good footwork. Casserly-(Bradford or Clausen) Played in a "pro style" passing offense and called protections at the line, much more under center and called audibles. Better ball spin then Sam Bradford. 5 career 4th QTR comebacks at ND. The team was ranked over 100 when he got to ND and put them in the top ten. Last seasons numbers 68.0 comp %, 3,722 YDS, 28 TD,4 INT All these analysts did was rave about how well his pro day went Lets face it, like him ...or hate him... he is a franchise QB and the Bills should draft him if he is there. The kid is supposed to have an attitude and be "cocky". I say good... he will need that attitude if he comes to Buffalo **** Just FYI, Path to the Draft on Monday the 12th, they will put the Bills on the clock and discuss the teams needs****
  23. Take a look at last years AFC Wildcard game at New England, the winning QB of the Ravens went 4 of 10 for 34 yards...THATS IT! The Ravens won with a dominating 3-4 defense and power running attack. They won 33-14 and Ray Rice had 22 rushes for 159 yards and played keep away from Tom Brady. After that game the Patriots fans were literally crying, and whining that the dynasty was over. In today's pass happy offenses the Ravens and NY Jets have superior O lines and running games that enabled then to get into the playoffs despite their QB's. If last years playoff game didn't open up some eyes at OBD... then nothing will! The Bills biggest rival was trounced at their home, in a playoff game, and against a healthy Tom Brady. When Dick Jauron was first hired I was hoping he would build a team like he had in Chicago, a power running attack with a strong defense. Instead he tried to resurrect the "greatest show on turf" by hiring a Mike Martz disciple in Steve Fairchild and build the "greatest show in snow". Then Fairchild quit and Jauron replaced him with two QB coaches who weren't ready to become offensive coordinators. Jauron clearly didn't know enough about building an offense and it failed miserably year after year. Chan Gailey is an offensive minded coach noted for building a strong powerful ground attack, and if the Bills have a ground game anything like the Ravens or Jets... then they won't need a Payton Manning / Drew Brees type franchise QB to run it.
  24. If you watched the NFL network and path to the draft, Mayock spoke about Clausen on several things. One of which is that he is still favoring his injured foot which is about 85% healed, he also stated he was weak on some on his throws because of the foot. Who knows what Buddy Nix is thinking at this point... only nevergiveup can tell us
