  1. Seriously, you need to get over your hate for the guy. The point I was making is that after 5-6 concussions a players career is usually over, even the great ones. Edwards has had 2 in 2 years... Brian Westbrook should have sat out the year instead of going back in too soon and suffering another concussion, he didn't and then the team cut him because now he is more susceptible to getting another concussion. Let me ask a question, what would you have done in his place? Would you risk your entire NFL career after you see the HC fire the OC and cut the starting tackle two weeks before the opener and then watch the O line completely break down and leave you running for your life every play, the offense was in shambles. Granted he was foolish to even open his mouth and say anything to alienate the fans. Me? I would have shut my mouth and done my best to back up the other QB's and happily sat out the year and fully recover.
  2. Blah blah blah, I guess you missed my point about getting another concussion and ending his career for a team that he knows won't get to the playoffs. According to you DeSean Jackson and Brian Westbrook should have just thrown themselves back into the game as soon as possible and if it ends their career...so what...they valiantly gave it their all. Westbrook did just that and his team cut him, I just think you don't look at it from a players perspective and never will...you are a fan .
  3. Your post makes no sense at all... Why on earth should the guy play his heart out to get his ass kicked every game and possibly end his career for an idiot like Jauron, for what...another 7-9 season. Oh wait, because you want to him to win and save the season? You can't have it both ways...
  4. Just to add to my last post, wasn't it Bruce Smith to stated in the huddle to his fellow defensive players at a Tampa Bay game..."the next one who makes a tackle I will beat the **** outta them". He wanted the Bills to fire Hank Bullough http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=36231
  5. Can you honestly blame the guy? He has suffered two concussions in two years, that first one was very serious. How many concussions should he endure before he retires like Troy Aikman- Steve Young and many other unheralded QB's were forced to do? Is it after 5-6 concussions that most pro players retire? ... linemen, linebackers, QB's , RB's. Brian Westbrook was a Thurman Thomas clone and an amazing player until he went back into the game too soon after suffering a concussion last year... and got another concussion, then the Eagle's simply cut the guy because now he is concussion prone. Talk about getting screwed over by your team... The fact is that once you suffer a severe concussion it is easier to sustain another. Just from a mental health standpoint players should sit out the season after suffering a severe concussion and be very careful about returning to play immediately after suffering a mild one. Edwards played college ball at Stanford, I'm fairly certain he knows the difference between a moron and a good coach. Last season he played for a staff of morons who didn't care if his career ended on the next play or not. I'm rather happy Edwards didn't "take command of that mess through sheer will" and win more games, if he had Dickhead Jauron might still be the head coach. ------------------------------------------------------ Thought I'd add this tidbit about a coach of the Eagles bugging Jackson to return to start playing before he should http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ter-concussion/ I was like, 'Coach, I just got a concussion. This [is] my brain
  6. The ONLY thing I can think of as to why this new regime, Nix & Gailey didn't draft 2 top tackles and a center is they believe they can coach up the O line players already on the Bills roster, same with the QB's. Most of this board bleating like baby sheep all the time about the QB's and that they all suck and yet defending the O line players because of injuries. Hey! If the Bills hire 20 new strength and conditioning coaches does that mean the team goes undefeated? Get one thing straight, until this team only allows less then 30 sacks a year this team is going nowhere. Last time I looked the Bills don't have Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, Payton Manning, Drew Brees or Tom Brady. It is a team game and the QB is only as good as his line, and the team is only as good as the QB. Get the frickin QB the best help and protections you can, if he fails at that point then you know it is him and not other factors, until the people at OBD realize this point the team will always struggle offensively. From what I see so far this team has very inferior O line except at guard, QB can't take more then a 3 step drop because of the lack of talent, inferior second WR, no decent TE threat. no dominate blocking TE, no dominate blocking FB
  7. Lets not forget that Newsome was smart enough to say the Ravens changed from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 because he didn't want to pay Suggs DE $$. All the Ravens did was declare him moved to OLB and have him stand up on the line instead of a 3 point stance and they saved themselves millions. -------------------------------------- More news about Gaither from that Rotoworld link Rotoworld. Jared Gaither was absent for a second straight day of mandatory minicamp Sunday. His "injury" is listed as a "foot and toe" problem. He's going to get an MRI this week, but PFT hears the injury is "minor" and a trade looks "very likely." It's unclear if the Ravens are just sitting Gaither because they are done with him, or if he's protesting in hopes of a trade. Either way, we don't expect to see Gaither in a Ravens uniform again anytime soon.
  8. Bills want him BAD! and apparently the Ravens want know it..."no offer worthy of consideration". http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...on-for-gaither/ This is just pure speculation on my part: Ya know Gaither is better then anything the Bills have, and the Ravens Ozzie Newsome knows it also. My take he is trying to hold up the Bills for as much as he can get, meaning more then a 2nd rounder. It would make sense as he doesn't want the Bills to build a playoff team to compete for the AFC. If I'm GM Nix I'd sign Flozell Adams just to show the Ravens the Bills are gonna move in a different direction and then if they lower the price of Gaither ...then make a trade and cut Adams. If no trade arises then you still have a seasoned vet at LT who will help develop the young linemen and step in if Bell isn't the anawer.
  9. Considering the lame offensive coaches that Edwards has had deal with those first 4 years with the NFL new HC Chan Gailey should help him and the other QB's a great deal. It will be interesting to see the effects of finally having a decent offensive mind to teach them.
  10. For the life of me I have no idea why most of you think the Dolphins will be last in the AFC EAST. They don't have a rookie head coach who is running two brand new schemes and has a ton of college assistants under him that he needs to train along with all the players. I'm not going to predict the final season rankings just yet as free agency isn't over yet, and "IF" the Bills do acquire Jared Gaither it could change everything. NE is STILL the team to beat in this division, Brady had a very un-Brady like year last season due to his injured knee...and they still won the division. The Jets and Dolphins will duke it out for the WC. I would think that whichever QB develops the quickest will have the better team, Henne or Snachez.
  11. That "lazy Bastard" was the 11th rated LT out of 76, and infinitely better then the coming off a torn ACL horrid playing Bell, or the holding machine currently on the roster at the RT position. Hell, he is rated better then the last lazy bastard who made the pro bowl at LT for the Bills. Not only that, he was the LT on one of the very best pass blocking / run blocking teams in the NFL last season. I'm glad the Bills won't value your opinion should they give up a #2 for the guy... the only question is will the Bills offer him enough $$ to make him happy?
  12. I read the article in the Buffalo News, I must have missed the ad lib's per Rotoworld: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL "There's not a first or a third right now," Gailey said. "We're going to go to camp with it being an open deal. To me anybody has a chance to win the job. It's not just lip service." Brian Brohm threw a slew of interceptions at Friday's practice, but he's the only "veteran" QB currently in camp, giving him something of a head start. The Bills' passing game is going to stink this year.
  13. Click on members, type in nevergiveup and read his posts. Why everyone is freaking out atm is because the Bills really need some serious upgrades on the O line, both tackles and center could have stood a youth movement from the draft. If RW had only slapped DJ in the back of the head and made him draft Michael Oher last year... Anyway, nevergiveup and some really good insight into what the Bills were going to do for HC and then the draft.
  14. I've watched him play also, and I've seen Fitz and Brohm play in that elite Bills offense that Jauron developed. The consensus in this forum is that they all suck...just keep beating that dead horse over and over while you can.
  15. "IF" the Bills make this move quickly before some other team swoops in and steals him away, it would change everything for the up coming season IMO. Not throwing the sour grapes here but the Bills need to motivate him and be willing to pay him what a LT is worth nowadays, just saying.
  16. I watched Edwards in that Buc's game and he threw some good deep balls, 2 to Lee Evans and one to TO. Evans dropped a TD pass that hit him in the numbers or TE has 3 deep TD passes in that game. If the O line was able to give him time like he had against the Buc's to take 5 step drops then he would have thrown deeper IMO. Like I stated earlier, kinda tough to take a 5 step drop which usually takes 5 seconds for the play to develop and receivers to be in position when he only had 3 seconds to get rid of the ball. I think its almost laughable that some of you guys are still complaining about the starting QB who was forced to play behind such a horrible O line, for a bad HC, poor OC and in a generally bad offense. How many times are ya gonna crucify the guy for the limited time he did play? Anyway, at this point I could really care less who gets the starting job at QB and I feel badly for whomever gets the nod because the offense will still be limited by the lack of talent at both tackle positions.
  17. Yea well, it still might come back to haunt him... Anthony Davis was there...Mike Iupati was there...Maurkice Pouncey was there...Brian Bulaga was there.
  18. I looked up Trents stats on CBSsports.com and here is what I got. CAT G Att Comp Pct Yds YPA Lg TD Int 1st 1st % 20+ Sac Rate ATTEMPTS 1-THROUGH-10 0 67 39 58.2 387 5.78 39 2 1 18 46.2 4 0 78.4 ATTEMPTS 11-THROUGH-20 0 60 40 66.7 435 7.25 46 2 1 19 47.5 6 0 92.0 ATTEMPTS 21-THROUGH-30 0 49 26 53.1 267 5.45 37 1 5 15 57.7 3 0 36.2 ATTEMPTS 31+ 0 7 5 71.4 80 11.43 43 1 0 1 20.0 1 0 148.8 They aren't coming out right no matter how I adjust them in this post, just read them on the link and notice he threw 7 passes for more then +31 yards, completed 5 and one was a TD. Now go back and re watch the games and count the seconds for each passing play. I'll bet he had 3 seconds or less on most passing plays when he was behind center, kinda tough to throw when you take a 5 step drop and meet both DE's when you reach the 5th step. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playe...w;pageContainer Notice the last sentence... With an offensive line still in tatters, Spiller still might be able to jitter his way to extra yardage on passes out of the backfield.
  19. I don't have any idea where you can possibly think the O line to be vastly improved, you are talking about the Bills O line right? Every player on last years line stunk it up, EVERY PLAYER! Even when they were healthy they still graded out as some of the worst in the NFL. If you watched them game after game and noticed they couldn't pass block very well at all, both tackle positions caved in with almost every play. Without clear upgrades at either tackle position I see a repeat of last seasons performances. Lets not forget that Gailey didn't hire just experienced NFL coaches, he hired a bunch of college coaches who need to learn how to coach in the NFL. My point about pulling a Dolphin is that like Cam Cameron who passed on a QB and linemen to take what he thought would be an "exciting player" for the offense in Ted Ginn Jr. Gailey might have done the same thing with Spiller and it may come back to haunt him. BTW, I was being generous with 4 wins, I honestly believe that with no upgrades at tackle, WR, QB and totally revamped defensive and offensive schemes, the Bills could very well be playing for that #1 overall this year. I'm not drinking the Nix / Gailey old boy connection koolaid just yet...
  20. If Jauron didn't entirely screw up everything he touched on the offense... plus his failure to hire any assistant coach with experience when he had the chance showed me he was a complete fool. Chan Gailey is noted for being a good QB coach and should be able to coach up the current QB's, my problem is that even with better coaching the O line is still lacking 3 out 5 decent players, and both tackle positions are a joke. Unless they upgrade the LT position with a proven player in a trade... it really won't matter which QB starts this season. Most NFL experts are picking the Bills to finish last in the NFL at 2-4 wins, I agree. I wonder if the Bills pulled a Dolphin and hired another Cam Cameron...
  21. You really have to wonder sometimes at others intentions and if they are Bills fans or not... I can recall Bruce Smith getting mad as hell at fans that were giving him a tough time because of his color and the fact that he had achieved so much success, this was before emails and twitter. It is pure hate mail and I think it is someone other then a Bills fan. My take is that it is not Bills fans but posers to come to this board to create trouble and bad feelings.
  22. Ray Lewis... killed someone and got away with it. Pacman Jones... OJ Simpson...killed his wife and her lover and got away with it There are worse players I can think of...
  23. The Bills could have traded back in the draft both this year and last year once they saw that the top OT's were gone. They could have gotten extra picks and still drafted Michael Oher last season instead of a developmental DE who will take 2-3 years to develop, that is "IF" he ever develops. This year they could have gone to Anthony Davis at #9, or traded that pick and gotten more #2s like the Patriots do. They could have ended up with Brian Bulaga, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati and extra picks. What is so great about more #2 round draft picks is your getting high quality players at a substantially lower salary then a first rounder makes. Once you get past the top 5-6 elite players the talent level usually drops enough so you can successfully trade back and still do well. The 06 draft was a real clusterfk, they drafted the 56th rated player in Donte Whitner at #9, Jauron is gone and I wonder if his stupidness still permeates at OBD, time will tell.
