Who would you start at RT?
thewildrabbit replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Walker is the starting RT again for the Raiders...what does that say about Green -
Dear Chan, Your O line sucks ass because you failed to upgrade it in the off season, you have no pocket to protect the QB...understand that fact! No QB you let stay in the pocket is going to be able to get into rhythm at any point in the game...so don't waste time trying to let them. Go into this weeks game like you are running an option offense, run the wildcat all game long. run miss direction plays, roll outs, end around's, The opposing 3-4 defense is designed to confuse the QB because they all line up at the LoS and then some drop back and some come, the QB doesn't know which LB is doing what... so turn it around on them and confuse the defense. Run a shotgun play with Fred Jackson as QB, Spiller on the left and Lynch on the right and option / wildcat or throw. Each time you run that play snap it to a different RB and let them option. Most importantly, run more then you pass... that is IF you can get those crappy O linemen to run block properly P.S. If Green screws up this week, cut his fat ass and send a message!

Clearly anyone with a brain could look at last years team and realize the weakest areas of the team were offensive line and run defense, more specifically both tackles and OLB I can only imagine that Chan Gailey fed Nix the same crap that he fed us fans in stating that "" a good RB can make the O line better"" We all witnessed Sunday that statement was complete and utter BS, the only thing that will make that Bills O line better is two tackles. Nix probably watched Sundays game and realized it was a mistake to sign Green and now he needs to upgrade that RT position asap. Still, it troubles me though knowing that Nix thought the team could get by with Bell and Green
-
Then why vote the guy captain? I think it speaks more about the team mentality... This team was totally unprepared to play the Dolphins offensively. the blocking that I saw was downright horrid and very reminiscent of last season's horrid play.
-
It amazes me that most of the fans knew ahead of time that Bell and Green weren't the answer at tackle. we saw, we knew...why didn't they? Granted it is only one game..but weren't Nix and Gailey supposed to improve this team?

News Flash: The O-Line Played Well Today (sans Green)
thewildrabbit replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea well go back and watch it again, then count out how many seconds pass after the balls is snapped until a defender is in Trents face In the first two series which set the tempo of the game, 2x a defender came from the left side UNTOUCHED and hit Edwards full bore... the first came in the first series on 3rd down for the first sack TWO seconds after the ball was snapped, defender came clean and hit Edwards from the blindside the next came on a 3rd and 2 that Edwards completed for a first down, he was hit by a defender coming clean on the left after TWO SECONDS Edwards was getting rid of the ball in those first two series by 2-3 seconds because he was forced to as a defender was in his face, the blocking was horrid in every aspect Go back and watch the first 3 series, Edwards was under constant pressure ... PROTECTIONS SUCKED--- RUN BLOCKING SUCKED In the 3rd series the Bill set up a screen and throw to Spiller....the announcer states he has a convoy ahead of him... to bad he was tackled instantly because nobody could make a block for him! -
You and I agree on a lot of areas of this team with some exceptions, although I was the one who stated Gailey could coach up Edwards and the team would score more points this season, I was wrong. If I'm not mistaken you have been saying all off season the team needs a new QB other then Edwards and the current back ups. My point here is... you / most of the fans already knew Edwards was going to stink it up this season, so who really failed this week? The guy who was benched last season, the guy you already predicted stunk OR the guy who was supposed to fix him and coach him up to an acceptable NFL level. Gailey was supposed to build a power running game, its why the Bills drafted Spiller when they already had to pro bowl backs.... Spiller was supposed to make the difference and be something special, what happened? Exactly what was the difference in the offense between the last four years with Jauron and his staff of clowns VS the "brilliant" offensive minded guru in Chan Gailey? You can continue to blame Edwards, but he didn't really perform differently then he has in some past games, so for this game I put the bulk of the blame on the new head coach for several reasons. 1) Ignoring the O line and thinking Green was an acceptable RT, Bell was acceptable LT 2) not upgrading the TE position properly in the off season or draft 3) not preparing a back up plan for the offense when the opposing defense shuts down the primary game plan Should we blame Edwards for the heavy pass rush that didn't allow him to throw, blame Edwards for O line that failed to block for the running game, Blame Edwards for the failed game plan? The game was close for 4 QTRs, why not pull the ineffective Edwards and throw Fitz in there, usually opposing defenses tend to ease up on the blitzing when a new QB comes in the game to see what he is going to do, this game was very winnable! P.S. Like I stated in other posts, the entire offense, players, coaches and FO is to blame for for Sundays performance, but the buck always stops at the head coach

Would you pls share what you are drinking...or smoking, because I need to feel good and forget the Joke of the NFL this Buffalo Bills team is going to become... This was a home game loss against a team with injuries and a very young QB that made plenty of mistakes the next two weeks should be very telling as to the ascendancy or descent this team will take ... both games on the road at GB and NE, both teams run an above average 3-4 like the Dolphins

Kraig Urbik the future RT
thewildrabbit replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I count the days until this franchise fires Modrak, 9 years of his ineptitude should be enough, at least you'd think it would -
On the contrary it is entirely HIS fault We were all mislead by that dog one of us you dog all of us talk, and the last 3 preseason games where Trent showed he could be effective. The thing is... the Dolphins hired one of the very best 3-4 defensive coordinators in the NFL in Mike Nolan, he didn't show his hand at all in the preseason and let his defense's play some basic schemes to get them ready. Then let all hell loose on Edwards and that crappy O line. Gailey should have been prepared for his receivers to be jammed at the line and knocked out of those 3 second timing routes, he should have been prepared for the constant run blitzes and the that can also hurry the QB leaving him no time to throw, and the spying on CJ Spiller that left him no running to the outside. We all knew that Edwards has been trained to run for his life by the jackass Jauron, that is nothing new... what we were all lead to believe is that a great RB can make an O line look good...WRONG! That those quick outs and slants and 3 second drop backs can open up the passing game and running game...WRONG! Where was the innovation? Where was the offensive guru? Where was the offensive mastermind who could out game plan-out scheme- coach up the QB's and O line? The Bills face Dom Capers and another 3-4 defense up in Green bay, and yet another 3-4 in New England with Bill Belichick, lets see how safe his job is then shall we....
-
Blame the frickin guy who hired him.... and then again the same guy refused to hire a real GM after Marv Levy stepped down and let skeletor run rampant doing anything he wanted, like cutting O linemen and firing the OC two weeks before the opener Unless I'm wrong the owner ASKED Marv Levy for help fully knowing he was never a GM in the NFL! What would you do when someone asks you to help them out? Marv really wanted to coach again but that wasn't allowed, I think he did his best considering so take your miss placed hate and go kick your dog as usual Everything currently wrong with this team stops at the very top and always has.... he fired Bill Polian! fired John Butler! fired Wade Phillips! refused to pay Chuck Knox! This is typical of Buffalo Bills fans that are so delusional that they blame everyone but the guy solely responsible...

good stuff
-
Trade for McNeil and move Bell to RT, this year just might get saved
-
the team should have open tryouts to find a better RT.... steal from practice squads they should make a cardboard sign of Green and place it in his spot at RT, probably do a better job blocking
-
Edwards does better than Sanchez...
thewildrabbit replied to Decimus Cometh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
but, but, but... he is the Sanchize Imagine the Bills with that O line the Jets have -
So if everyone knows he sucks. THEN WHY START THE GAME THROWING THE BALL!! Then continue to throw it all game long, while not even trying to run the ball with that great new 1st round draft pick who was supposed to make the line better! So If the Dolphins stack 9 in the box and constantly run blitz which also effectively puts pressure on the QB, and he constantly has defenders in his face because of the rush.... Is it Edwards job to find plays that work against that run blitzing, OR THE FREAKING COACH! first series: 1st play Shotgun: pass to Jackson incomplete,,, a pass to the guy with the injured hand and he drops it ---pass was out in 2 seconds 2nd play shotgun: pass to Spiller batted down---pass was out in 2 seconds 3rd play shotgun : sacked in 2 seconds after the snap, defender came clean from left side and hit Edwards from blindside second series: 1st play shotgun: hand off Spiller run play up the middle gain of 6 2nd play shotgun: hand off Spiller gain of 1 3rd play shotgun pass play over the middle to 96 1st down pass out in 2 seconds defender came clean on left side and hit Edwards just after release 4th play 32 yd line 1st n 10. play action to Spiller left side gain of 2 5th play 34 yd line 2nd n 8 shotgun check down to Spiller left side, tackled as he catches the ball loss of 4 yards This last play on this series is very telling about the O line play 6th play, 30 yd line, 3rd and 12, shotgun: pass play to Evans at the 31- pass was out in 3 seconds, 2 defenders closing on Edwards and 1/2 second away from hitting him from a THREE MAN RUSH---both guards and center blocking one defender up the middle, while Green whiffing on his block. Edwards no time to find anyone downfield: completed pass for a one yard gain Clearly Edwards had very little time to throw most of the game, while I'll admit Edwards stunk it up like I stated eariler, this loss is not just his fault when he has no time to throw and the running game is non existent All you did in your post was b!tch about Edwards just like most everyone else
-
Whomever scouted out the guy and thought he would be a good fit at RT should be fired asap, they guy who actually approved the signing should also be fired asap the more things change...the worse things get
-
It easily could have been a +20 point blowout loss if some dolphin defenders could actually hold on to the balls thrown right to them The next 2 games will be +20 point blow out losses or worse, if Edwards and that O line plays like they did against the Dolphins at GB and NE it could be duel 40+ blow out losses I agree with most of the grades this time around, with the exception of the defense which kept the game close. 0-4 after Miami-GB-Pats-Jets...I wonder if Gailey will still have a job
-
Seems like everyone but a few are disagreeing with this, most just want to blame it all on Edwards Lets face facts, Trent Edwards has been trained to run for his life by Jauron and his staff of buffoons... Edwards has suffered 2 severe concussions in the last 2 years and I don't blame the guy for his play, not when I see the O line play like a sieve Nevertheless, everyone seems to be ignoring the statement made by Gailey after he drafted Spiller , that a great RB will make the O line better. I say BS, there is no way to make that O line will be better no matter who the RB is, the guy was getting tackled in the backfield as soon as he touched the ball. WTF happened to the 3 step drop passes, the slants and quick outs to open up the passing game and running game. I'll tell you what happened, the receivers were getting bumped and knocked out of their routes at the LoS and when the QB has no outlet to throw to... it destroys the entire offensive game plan. Gailey didn't adjust his plan at all, so if the first plan fails then the offense is screwed Only fools will blame this loss on one guy, this was a total team screw up by the coaches, players and FO who refused to bring in proper talent at the tackle position

My observations from the game
thewildrabbit replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills lost that game at the line of scrimmage, they couldn't block anyone at any point on offense I watched them set up a screen and it looked like every Bill missed their block, another play they run a toss sweep to Spiller and the announcer states he has convoy ahead of him... to bad they couldn't manage to block anyone and he gets tackled immediately This has to be the worst O line and play by professional players in the NFL -
Indications that our O-line is terrible
thewildrabbit replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be different if Edwards had the time Henne had to throw and didn't take advantage of it like Henne... It would be different if the Bills had built a power running game and Edwards kept screwing up by throwing INT's or bad passes The Bills didn't even try and run the ball at any stage of this game, they came out thyroiwing and kept trying to throw against a very good blitizing Dolphin defense. Even when the Dolphins rushed 4 and dropped into coverage and the Bills kept 5-6 back to block they still managed to get to Edwards.and hurry him -
You explained nothing to what I asked...all you want to do is bash the QB. The Bills could have run 100 plays and if the QB can't make 3rd and long because he has a defender in his face... how exactly does that keep the OC from calling more running plays Wouldn't it have been nice to open the game at least trying to run the ball, did you click on the link and even look at the play by play? The Bills tried to run mostly out of the shotgun formation the exact same way that AVP and Turk Schonert tried to do, with less success. Play action formations work because the defense doesn't know what to expect and it gives the RB some power to gain speed before he hits the line. The Bills opened the game by passing and failed to establish any passing rhythm at all, but then they didn't even try to establish a running attack at any point in the game. This offense looked like the very same crap we have seen the last 4 years.

Do you think Chan will learn from his mistakes?

I agree, this games offense looked like it was called by shotgun schonert -

2nd and 10, 13:58 in the 3rd QTR shotgun formation, Edwards hands off to Spiller , and # 77 completely whiffs on his block as #98 of the Dolphins tackles Spiller as soon as he gets the ball 5 yards behind the LoS Yea, Bell played well... -

thewildrabbit replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, the coaches +1 Not only does the O line deserve the credit for this loss, its the coaching and the morons in the front office that thought Green- Bell could get the job done.
