Dick Jauron had his following of haters from Chicago that tried to warn everyone here, nobody listened Now Georgia Tech fans were warning us this new guy is an offensive version of Dickhead Jauron. ....KC fans are laughing at the Bills fans because this man took the Chiefs offense to 2-14 as OC and then he gets hired here as Head Coach. To be honest I like the guy, he talks the talk but so far walks with a huge limp...he was supposed to fix the QB and offense I suspect that should he go 0-10 and the bag heads come out Mr Wilson will think of making a change...0-16 and he is fired at the end of this year!

Your absolutely correct, the Bills don't have the players anywhere near what the Packers have...on the offensive line! The Bills had a chance to upgrade WR-QB-RT-LT-OLB and they chose a RB with that 1st pick, I suppose that is Edwards fault also Ever hear the old adage, "games are won and lost in the trenches", there is truth to that statement The Bills had the 2nd best defensive secondary in the NFL last season, same players...what happened? The Bills were 16th in rushing offense and #6 in YPA, same basic players...what happened? The Bills supposedly upgraded the RT position by bringing in a FA and paying him 3 million...what happened? This team is actually worse then last years, same basic players...what happened?

I didn't start this thread to feel better about myself... I started it to remind all the posters who endlessly stated that they were OK with the Bills losing this year because the Bills were "rebuilding" AGAIN!... for the 4th time in 10 years! I started it to remind all the posters who stated the Bills would be fine with Chan Gailey as HC and Nix as GM... both suck worse then Edwards right now because they are the ones who decided to keep him, plus the buck stops at the top! I started it to remind all the posters who stated that the pistol offense would be fine with throwing quick outs and slants, the QB can't hit receivers within 3 seconds if they are knocked off their routes The majority of the posts after the game are all blindly b!tching about Trent Edwards, granted he is part of the problem but not the biggest part. If Chan really was an offensive genius, then why was he fired last season as OC and wasn't rehired until the Bills offered him a job. will you still call this guy a genius after the Bills lose another 10 games? Belichick does have both an OC and DC, trust me as good as he is, he isn't calling both offensive and defensive plays, he just didn't give them titles because other teams keep stealing his coordinators

The ONLY way a new OC is going to help this team is ...if he can block as RT or LT This team needs two tackles, granted the left tackle isn't as bad as the right, but both stink and wouldn't start on any other team in the NFL

Oh yea one more thing. Where are all the posters who wanted Jason Campbell as QB for the Bills, you know the guy who plays for the Raiders and was pulled at the 1/2 for stinking it up!

naa you guys are giving two old has-been's more credit then they deserve... no teams play to lose in the NFL or they will lose their entire fan base and season ticket sales The Redskins were basically in the exact same boat as the Bills, new HC, new defensive system and they made tremendous strides in the draft and free agency. They upgraded the QB and both tackle positions with the drafted rookie at LT and an all pro in Brown from the Saints at RT The Bills brought in Cornell Green at RT and paid him 3 million dollars, for the love of god that guy isn't worth league minimum, big screw up! they retained Bell at LT, big screw up! they didn't retain TO or bring in anyone to replace his 70 catches at WR, big screw up! they have no decent TE, big screw up! they retained Edwards and didn't draft a QB or bring one in during free agency,big screw up These two are indeed both morons like Jauron and will be fired THIS YEAR if this team continues to lose like they did today

Your wasting your time, most posters here ride the short bus or are to busy to understand that games are won in the trenches. They all focus on blaming the QB and will rail on anyone who thinks differently. Its all the QB's fault... irregardless that the new HC was supposed to improve the offense and drafted a small speedy RB who will "make the O line play better". Never mind that this O line can't block 3 rushers with 5 or that the Bills have the worst tackles in the NFL. Never mind that the Bills have ONE decent receiver who is doubled and tripled covered and taken out of the game Just understand that the Bills suck and its all Trent Edwards fault!

Clearly the issue IS coaching! Bad protections- QB has 2 seconds or less to get the ball out- Do the players set up protections? Bad game plans-can't score-can't stop anyone-do the players set up the game plan? Bad scheme-where is the offense-where is the pass rush? Bad play calls- Gailey calls for a roll out...right into the waiting arms of Matthews for a sack Do the players select themselves in the draft? Do the players select themselves in free agency? Do the players coach themselves?

1) Where are all the posters that openly stated that this is a rebuilding year and that they were fine with winning 3-4 games 2) Where are all the posters who were all rah rah rah about Chan Gailey and his statement that "a good RB will make the O line better" 3) Where are all the Buddy Nix backers who agreed that free agency was a waste of time!! If it takes an entire season to evaluate talent... then this GM and HC are complete morons!! They should have able to evaluate who could play and who couldn't in last seasons game tapes, the off season OTA's and preseason Oh Wait!!! Hold that thought, they are a pair of morons because they had to already know... they brought in Cornell Green, who just might be the very worst RT in the league and gave him 3 million dollars this year! They retained Bell at LT who wouldn't be starting on any other NFL team, they have no decent tight end, no decent second receiver. If the majority of the posters here could see that Bell and Green were not going to get the job done this season, how in the hell did Gailey and Nix not see that?

I watched Matthews train, he can swim slap and easily break a 2x4. needless to say his trainer wears heavy padding on his arms to keep them from being broken by this guy, I would hate to have to try and block him with my arms extended just an amazing player

Apparently you missed the Bills home opener against that Mike Nolan 3-4 defense, they couldn't stop the pass rush with 6 against 4. Running the ball is about the only chance they have with revolving door Green on that line... that Bills O line will continue to be the worst in the NFL

Nix has already made some huge mistakes in my view... The first was stating he was going to get some sleep as free agency began... then ignoring the LT position and bringing in RT Cornell Green, how in the world do the Bills quantify giving him 3 million a year? The second was ignoring the O line in the draft again this year, more specifically both tackle positions. Trading away Jason Peters wasn't his fault, not even trying to replace him this year was his fault. The third he could have kept Perry Fewell as HC and hired Chan as OC, less jobs to cover for Chan might have given him more time to spend with the QB's, and actually help them. I happen to like Chan Gailey, I just wonder how many games he will need to lose before he is fired this year... 6-8-10? The more games he loses the more people will remember that Marty S really wanted the Bills HC job. After watching that home opener against the Dolphin I can only wonder if Nix now knows he made mistakes regarding the LT-RT-WR-OLB Also, I can only wonder should the Bills go 1-15 will BOTH Nix and Gailey get the axe...

I say he was more then a mediocre coach, those don't get voted into the hall of fame. Great motivator and did exactly what a good head coach should do, hire really good assistants, manage the game and players. Perhaps his biggest shortcoming was to allow Jim Kelly to call all his own plays, in that first SB against the NY Giants the Bills should have run Thurman more often against that 4-1-6 defense that Bill Belichick set up to stop the passing game. After all that same defense held Joe Montana and that amazing Niner offense to one TD and 2 field goals in the NFC championship game. As good as Marchibroda was, he didn't alter the game plan after watching that Giants team in constant dime coverage. Like I stated eariler he was asked to be GM by his old friend and Bills owner Ralph Wilson, he really wanted to coach again. His greatest error was hiring Dick Jauron to be HC, and I believe he stepped down because he was a figure head GM and he knew that he would shoulder the blame for others mistakes. Langston Walker and Derrick Dockery didn't become liabilities until after O line coach Jim McNally retired, and Jauron hired an assistant to replace him. Both players are back with their respective teams, If the Bills had retained Dockery he would be the best linemen by far on that bills line. Unlike Levy, Jauron the moron only promoted offensive coaches from within the org instead of hiring proven experienced veteran coaches, that was his down fall. Right now this franchise could use another Marv Levy... and another Bill Polian. I know I wouldn't mind watching the Bills go to another 4 SB's, right now most fans would be ecstatic with just a winning season...

All the while you guys are gushing about the guy, I watched him play and he can be very inaccurate... and not by a hand or arms length, more like 5+ yards. He currently has a decent O line that gives him time to throw and a decent running game, something we haven't seen in Buffalo yet this year. This QB isn't the type of guy who can do it all on his own. Looking at the Bills situation this year and the O line, they should have traded for Mike Vick

On the contrary they are in no bind whatsoever...the Chargers are happy to let both sit out the season to make a point. The Chargers like the play of the replacement left tackle, he played much better at KC then McNeil ever did. Plus the WR spot has been filled by Lagedu Naanee who had 5 rec 100 yards and a TD Seems like AJ Smith is one cantankerous SOB like someone else we know...

No, not sad... just frustrated because I control nothing. I seriously want to give a few in the front office a swift kick when they screw up year after year If only the owner had sons to pass the team on to, like the Colts and Cards. The team would then always stay in Buffalo and one of them just might have enough brains to run it like a business and forget the old friendships. Hiring old friend Marv Levy as GM was brutal to the team and set it back 4 years, because he hired DICKHEAD Jauron as HC, who ultimately tore apart everything Levy started Hiring Tom Donahoe was another brutal move because he brought along Modrak and the Bills haven't drafted a single O linemen worth a damn in 8+ years, save Wood-Levrite with 1st and 2nd round picks. While at Pittsburgh Donahoe lost a power struggle with Bill Cowher and was fired, to bad the Bills had to find out the hard way it was Cowher who had the eye for talent. Nix might be an ok guy, but he is older then dust and this is 2010 not 1980. The Bills need a younger energetic GM who isn't going to proudly boast he is going to sleep when free agency starts

P.S. Play action formations work to help run the ball, keeps the defense guessing to some degree. If the QB is really good at faking the hand off it makes the defenders hesitate just long enough to allow the QB to make some throws If your QB is facing a 3-4 defense and the LB's are constantly crowding the line and he doesn't know which are coming or dropping back... then the shotgun formation isn't much help to read the defense PLAY ACTION, RUN THE DAMN BALL

Yea the Bills were pretty much one of the worst teams in the NFL in week one....they had the worst O line, no question I suppose the future rank will depend on whether or not Chan Gailey can manage to have his fat a$$ O lineman actually block someone in the next few weeks

Amen on everything On another note, the WR position is so difficult to judge for scouts because you just don't know if they can make the transition to the pro's, most route tree's in college are so limited and a lot are not required to learn down field blocking for the run. Second most difficult position to learn besides QB IMO
