  1. Oh you mean the guy who was the starting RB? Because Lynch was the starting RB in games 2-3-4. a who knows 3rd round pick and a conditional pick in 2 years for a #9-1st rounder Trading him NOW instead of on draft day when Nix could have gotten a 4th to help this horridly bad team THIS YEAR, not to mention losing RB Joique Bell to the Eagles...
  2. Your just pissing into the wind around this forum....even if it is the truth. Ralph Wilson surrounded himself with his 'friends" and "Buddy's" (forgive the pun) At his age he trusts these men to run his franchise and sadly things will never change as long as Ralph Wilson is calling the shots This Franchise needs Wilson to step down as president and he needs to hire a Bill Polian - Ozzie Newsome type to replace him, to purge and change the entire infrastructure of the organization. Of course this would mean that he would need to give away that final say over the team, so we know this will never happen as long as he remains the owner.
  3. Where do you guys get this from, what other franchise needs an entire year to "" evaluate"" its players... stating that is just an excuse for this regime, and unbelievably lame. Looking at this years acquisitions and draft and trades, I'd say never with Nix and Gailey in charge. The Bills should have kept Perry Fewell as HC ...
  4. Things won't change in Buffalo until the fans stop buying tickets, stop buying merchandise, stop buying into and promoting an inferior product ! Chan Gailey was Buddy Nix's choice, a good ole boy just like him... Buddy Nix was Ralph Wilsons choice, a stogy old timer just like him. I'm going to say this will take 2 full years and maybe more, these are the owners choices. I say 2 years because that is how long it took during the 80's....Man those back to back 2-14 seasons in the mid 80's were fugly, ya know what, the fans back then also said everything will be OK, the Bills are rebuilding After the 2-3 years and Nix and Gailey are finally fired...what are the odds that the Bills find another Bill Polian to correctly rebuild this franchise? Just think, should the Bills prevail and beat the astronomical odds against them they might be in the super bowl around 2020
  5. Get a grip guys, this team already drafted a premier DE in Aaron Maybin... what makes you think they will make the correct choice at QB? I can see it now, the Bills select ---------- with the #1 overall, the very next team drafting sprints to the podium to turn in their pick, that second pick turns out to be a HoFer
  6. careful with that koolaid.... it is laced with poop This year is for evaluations....this is going to take time
  7. If you think Wood sucks, where does that leave Cornell Green ?
  8. 24-21 BILLS WIN But don't get to giddy over this win, its likely to be the only one this season
  9. Cmon, drink the koolaid....even tho it is laced with poop
  10. All I know is G Logan Mankins is still out there and unhappy... I know, I know the Bills don't need a guard... BS! Move Wood to center and bring in Mankins and he would be a huge upgrade on the worst O line in the NFL. WR Vincent Jackson is still out there and unhappy, if signed in Buffalo he would be the #1 WR and have immediate impact once he can play. Oh Wait! Buddy Nix boasted he was going to get some sleep when free agency started and he is still in deep REM...If he did ever wake up and look at those ideas... RW would say no! To much money and Buddy doesn't wanna part with his precious draft picks anyway, he would prefer to draft mediocre players that the team doesn't really need. Guys stop worrying, the team will suck this year but RW and the FO have a plan... the Bills draft one of the top QB's this up coming draft and the fans will be back in droves to watch the new guy run for his life for four years, and all you season tix holders will renew and scramble to buy his jersey,
  11. To sum it up, I get the OP's frustration with the Bills FO and current regime. It seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same. Buddy Nix: Free Agent RT Cornell Green at 3 million a year... Chris Kelsay a 25 million dollar extension Trading away Marshawn Lynch for a 4th now when they could have made this move during last years draft and picked up a 4th rounder they could have used this year. Not to mention the fact that the Bills lost Joique Bell to the Eagles in the process, sheer stupidity. Chan Gailey: The guy works with Trent Edwards all off season, OTA's, mini camp, training camp, preseason games and defends him from hecklers "you dog one of us, you dog all of us" Calls him ""one tough guy"" after he watches him chip a tooth when he got sacked in preseason. Then cuts the guy after only two games... Just to show you how completely clueless this man was about his own offense, when asked by the media why Edwards was able to drive down the field for a TD with 8 min to go in the game, and yet he struggled the entire rest of the game, the coach had no answer. He was asked after the Green Bay game why Lee Evans didn't catch any passes, he stated to the media he didn't know because he had called plays for Evans and they weren't completed. I'll tell you why, Edwards had only 2 seconds to get rid of the ball in most of that Miami game, even when he did complete a pass in the first few series he was getting hit from his blindside by an UNBLOCKED LB. The Dolphins were spying Spiller and run blitzing to shut him down, much to their surprise the Bills had no ability to block for the pass or run, so they kept blitzing all game ....right up until that TD drive in which Edwards overcame a sack and a false start by Cornell Green to hit Parish with a 31 yard TD strike on 4th and 11. What Chan failed to realize is that by keeping Edwards in shotgun for 75% of the offensive plays in that game he was telling the Dolphins we are going to pass, try and stop us. That is exactly what they did, by blitzing the LB's from the outside and kept pressure on Edwards most of the game In that last TD drive Chan went all out with a 5 WR spread set and the Dolphins changed their defense in a dime coverage and stopped blitzing with the LB's. He opened up the offense even more and forced the Dolphins into dropping into coverage to stop from being beaten by a big play. This style of offense was so reminiscent of how Turk Schonert ran an offense under Jauron, no running game and forcing the QB to try and make all the offensive plays. How many times did we see the RB get hit in the backfield as soon as he got the hand-off, on almost every running play that happened. It is why he had 7 attempts for 6 yards in that game, his longest run was 6 yards so he was only successful on ONE running play The Green Bay game was different in the fact that Gailey actually tried to run the ball more with Marshawn Lynch, and the Bills were somewhat successful on ONE drive with 17 rushes for 64 yards for the game, 14 yard run the longest. the main difference was that the Bills really weren't very successful running the ball the entire game and kept putting Edwards in long yardage situations trying to make a first down, this made him a very easy target for the GB pass rush, particularly Clay Mathews. Steve Johnson was also benched after this game in favor of Parish as the second wideout in 2 WR formations. Make no mistake that Trent Edwards was made a scape goat by throwing him behind a bad O line with only one decent receiver. did Edwards stink it up in those first two games...you bet! Was it entirely his fault...no way. He deserved to be benched, he didn't deserve to be cut. Bottom line Chan Gailey hurt the Bills by cutting him, what happens if Fitz gets a serious injury playing behind that crappy O line and then the Bills find out Brohm can't play . Gailey really did Edwards a favor by cutting him... he still gets his 1.6 mill .... now he gets to play backup on a team that can actually run the ball...a team that has a good tight end that can block and catch. Plus he is now in a position to sit back and watch and learn under a real offensive coordinator for the first time in his career.
  12. No, this is what happens when nobody wants to come to Buffalo to work under Ralph Wilson.... the FO has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find a coach and GM that would take the job. Both of these guys stink and have to keep changing the story to fit the ineptitude of the team. Give your hubby a big hug and warm glass of milk Mrs Gailey, tell him everything will be OK
  13. These guys are just backtracking to cover their proverbial asses Like the statement, ""a good RB will make the line block better"" That didn't happen, and something happened I didn't think was possible, the O line is worse this year then last season, minus the injuries everyone can see just how bad these guys really are! Howabout the line by Nix, "" we are not that far away"" Now he is spitting out ""this is a long painful process"" It is when you sign free agent RT's that can't play for 3 mil a year it sure is, painful to watch also. So far this team is playing worse then it did for Fewell and Jauron, didn't think that was possible either. To sum it up this HC looks like he has morphed into an old fart version of Turk Schonert, all he wants to do is call shotgun plays... he still hasn't figured out why his QB has trouble completing plays called with 5-7 step drops passes.
  14. Or Turk Schonert 10 years as a back up, 10 years as a QB coach..... exit stage left after Dick Jauron:lol:
  15. They are, in their current positions Buddy Nix might be the very best college scout in America, and bring in some great talent if given a few years. The thing is he has already shown us he is lame at being a GM for 2 very clear and concise reasons. Cornell Green and Chris Kelsay. Not to even mention the fact that the team ignored specific positions that were screaming for upgrades all off season. QB-WR-RT-LT-OLB Chan Gailey might very well be a very good offensive coordinator if given proper direction under a good head coach, but he has already shown us he can't evaluate a QB by watching film, something even rookie head coaches can do.Plus he hasn't built a running game whatsoever, if not for Fitz running around slinging the ball this team would be in even worse shape offensively. The thing that made Jauron so horrible with an offense is he believed that the QB should win the games for him, his plan was to throw a QB into an offense no matter how raw he was and he was expected be able to make all the plays to keep the ball moving. Teams like the Ravens and Falcons OTOH believe that they should run the ball to set up the pass and only rely on the QB to manage the game, this philosophy has worked very well for Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan. Chan Gailey seems to share the same idea that Jauron had because he hasn't even tried to mount a running attack. That Miami game he had Trent Edwards in the shotgun formation 75% of the offensive plays. The QB had around two seconds to get the ball out or he was sacked, even when he did get the ball out he was still getting hit., Then when he did try and run the ball the RB was getting hit in the backfield as soon as he touched the ball. This tells me he didn't setup the protection schemes or the blocking schemes. The offense this year is actually worse then last years. PTR, you entered this season with nothing but confidence and telling everyone that this years team simply had to be better because they fired Dick Jauron and brought in an offensive mind. You need to admit that you were somewhat shocked that the Bills are this bad offensively, I know I am. The mere fact that Gailey went into the season with complete confidence in Trent Edwards as the Bills starting QB, doesn't upgrade the O line at all, and gets rid of two starting receivers, then he cuts the guy after only two games... this shows me that he is basically clueless how to run a team on his own I look at Denver with a young head coach in Josh McDaniel's who's QB is leading the NFL in passing, that's right... Kyle Orton is the leading the passer in the NFL. I can't help but wish the Bills had a young brilliant coach like him. Then I look at the Jets and see what Marty's son, the Jets OC has done for Mark Sanchez, and can't help but want to see that guy in Buffalo helping the next young QB the Bills get. Perhaps you are happy with what you have seen so far, I'm not. I don't need to see the last four games repeating over and over all season to eventually help me determine what I already know. If this team wins any games at all it will be because Fitz is carrying them and making all the plays. Like I stated in an eariler post I could be wrong... and would love it to have Gailey prove me wrong... however logic dictates to me that he won't.
  16. Think about something, Chan Gailey was hired specifically to improve the offense, what the hell happened? If not for Fitz running around and slinging the ball the Bills wouldn't have an offense at all, what happened to the idea of having the QB manage the game and running the with authority and controlling the clock? The Bills don't even have a running game so far this year and the O line looks worse this year then last...something I didn't think was possible. We all kinda knew the defense was going to have problems switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3, teams needs to almost completely change the entire front seven when they make this change. what worse is the Tampa Two defense required smaller quicker players. I can forgive the defense because of Jauron and his lame schemes and draft picks like Maybin. what would help the defense immensely is if the offense could actually run the ball and control the clock, doesn't anyone else find it unreal that the Jets had the ball last week for 40+ min and the Bills for only 19 min, kinda scary the Bills offense was that bad. Fitz the leading rusher with 74 yards of running for his life
  17. No, you are delusional and make things up to suit your views Where do you guys get this stuff from... the Miami Dolphins went 1-15 and they were bad only because of bad coaching?.... that the team was filled with great players because they had great drafts previous to the bad coach? What a bunch of horseshit! But Buffalo's problem is just the opposite of the Dolphins-Ravens-Falcons, they have fantastic coaches and bad players? Dude, you seriously need to get a grip on reality, Chan Gailey sucks, AVP and even Turk Schonert were better at game planning and running the Bills offense the last two years. This guy was brought in to specifically improve the offense...he made it worse!
  18. and yet your avatar shows a dying Buffalo... i get the distinct impression that this owner doesn't trust anyone under 60....Anyway, the one thing that motivates this owner is his fans, if his fans keep showing up to games and buying merchandise he figures he is doing it right. To the OP, Should the fans stop attending in doves and the game stop selling out and the villagers start storming OBD with torches, I have no doubt that change will come to the FO
  19. Yea well I'm more concerned about the so called "decent head coach . Good offensive mind" stuff.... Show me in one instance how this head coach is one iota better then Turk Schonert or Alex Van Pelt, the last two Bills offensive coordinators Chan Gailey inherited the exact same team with the exact same players and didn't resign TO, cut Josh Reed and failed to upgrade the offensive line. He had his chance to upgrade all off season QB- WR- OL and he chose a RB in an already crowded backfield. This current Bills offense is last in the NFL and even a worse team the last years, at least last years team could run the ball to some degree. The guy was fired as an offensive coordinator after his team went 2-14, simply because Buddy Nix is a fool doesn't quantify Chan Gailey as a good offensive mind or even a decent head coach... from my view he sucks!
  20. What transpired in the late 90's and early 2000"s has no bearing on the current situation in the NFL, more specifically considering that recently 3 teams Miami-Baltimore-Atlanta all cleaned house / fired the head coach and hired new and all three teams made impact full turnarounds in ONE YEAR No team in this era is going to have the patience to rebuild for 5 years, especially considering this team has already been rebuilding for the last ten years.
  21. SHHHH... the homies are still gulping down the koolaid. It is unreal to me that so many fans are still sold on Gailey and Nix after many obvious screw ups.. The fact that Nix brought in Cornell Green to play RT and paid him 3 mill, then to watch the guy play as poorly as he does and retain his job...screams at me Nix doesn't know what he is doing. Half the fans are buying into the fact that this year is for ""evaluations"", something the GM and staff should have been able to do in a few hours of film study in the off season, and then the other half want to lose every game so the team can draft the ""franchise QB"" So we get to watch him run for his life while playing behind guys like Cornell Green.
  22. I think the entire Bills fan base watched in disgust as Edwards completely choked at the end of that Miami game by not even attempting a hail-mary, then played with no backbone against the Packers...that got him benched, What got him cut were the outcries of the fanbase, plus he would make 1.6 mil as a back up. This move is going to look unbelievably stupid should Fitz get hurt for an extended period and Brohm shows he is not ready, or any better at running for his life then Edwards. If Chris Kelasy was the focus of two games and failed at his job as bad as Edwards did.... I'm pretty sure he would be cut also, the difference between the two might be that Kelsay wouldn't find another job as quickly, that is if he could find another job
  23. Or despite what the Ravens did in hiring John Harbough, or what the Falcons did in hiring Mike Smith...worst to first in one season Why on gods green earth does it take a full season for this coaching staff / GM to evaluate the players....when other teams only need a few hours of film study, Stop making excuses for them
  24. First of all I did give two alternatives, only one of which was to fire them now, or at some point during the season. The reason I make that statement is because I've seen enough ineptitude over the years to recognize it early. In 3 games out of four this team wasn't even competitive at any level, all three phases were horrid. Not just the QB, not just the running game but the entire offense, special teams and defense. I don't see them getting better and if by the 1/2 way point the team is win-less this post might carry more meaning. In the Patriot game the Bills were never a threat to win that game although they did come out and compete. The thing is Marty Schottheimer publicly stated he wanted the Bill HC job badly, and more then likely still does. The owner Ralph Wilson then said when he heard about Marty wanting the job that he wasn't "comfortable" with hiring him. I'm not certain if that was Buddy Nix's influence because of his association with Marty at San Diego or if it was pure Wilson. Regardless, the guy has a proven track record of taking bad teams and turning them into playoff teams in a short time. Hiring Marty S this year could change the mentality of the team from losing to winning THIS YEAR. Plus like I stated the bills could hire Martys son as OC next year and the guy would take the job to be with his father. Thus hurting the Jets and helping the Bills at the same time, How many losses is enough? The second alternative was to hire Bill Cowher at the end of this season, but the only way he would take the job is to have power to choose his players and run the team his way. So make him head coach and GM and pay him accordingly, it might just be a good enough offer for him to take it. This only works if the owner gives him the proper freedom to build the team correctly. I could be completely wrong about Gailey and Nix, the team could turn things around and go 12-4 .....Yea, and I could also win mega millions and get a date with Megan Fox
  25. This baby has been overdue for the last TEN YEARS!! Perhaps you haven't been paying attention this decade, but the Bills have stunk for a good ten years and have been the Patriots little B word all that time. This owner just did it again, has the wool pulled over everyone's eyes by hiring a new GM & HC, never mind the fact that the team is 0-4 and the worst team in the league, new is better right? Perhaps you want to give this HC and GM another 3 years to see if they know what they are doing, just like the Bills have done with the past 4 regimes, I don't think most of the fans can stand another 3-5 years of rebuilding at the end of a ten year rebuild. Perhaps it is Gailey & Nix's plan to lose this year in order to get a franchise QB, what they fail to realize is that most head coaches and GMs that take their teams 2-14 usually don't stay employed long anymore. I get the fact that the Bills needed to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find this GM and HC simply because nobody wants to work for this owner for obvious reasons. What the owner needs to realize is...does he want to end his legacy in Buffalo as a loser...and pass on while his beloved Buffalo Bills are the laughing stock of the league? As I see it this owner has 2 clear choices to improve the team asap, fire Gailey / Nix, and while you still can and hire Marty S, then and the end of this season let him hire his son away from the Jets as OC and be the eventual replacement HC, and or move Marty to GM / consultant at that time. The guy knows football inside and out, knows players, and is a supreme motivator... OR.. wait until the season is over and throw the GM & HC job at Bill Cowher. Either or, then stand back and let them do their job with no interference. P.S. I know this post is an exercise in futility, I just can't stand watching this team go from mediocre to competently inept and the joke of the league,I had to post anyway I just don't get how the owner of the team can put up with it.
