  1. yea, that really makes more sense then drafting another QB. Denver and Orton is a lot like fitz and the buffalo Bills in the way that although they don't have a "franchise" QB, they don't have a competitive team around the QB either Anyway, their defense was so bad I can't see them passing on one of the top defenders unless they get a ton of extra picks in a trade
  2. Like I said in the above post, its not about me...get a grip willya 12 times, really? go have a beer...jeez
  3. Make up all the crap you want because IDC...talk about being a blowhard, you were banging Cash Newtons drum so hard about a month ago it was deafening. You probably have me on ignore because I politily told you to go F yourself in another thread. If you have me on ignore bright boy then why are you even responding to my posts, I question your wonderlic score Do us both a favor and keep me on ignore and ignore my posts, considering all you want to do is argue with me.... its not about me. All I know is that I like Jake Locker, he is a tough kid, and a gamer who will do well in the NFL if given proper guidance, and time to develop
  4. !)I love how you make stuff up, wtf said anything about Newtons arm strength? I stated that Mayock has him as a QB with top ten ability just like Jake Locker, only the #3 QB BEHIND Locker 2) Notice how he chose DE Mario Williams over the local fan favorite QB in Vince Young, who just won a NC at Texas, and he was chastised by the Texan fans for that pick at the time. My point was, he knows the difference between a player with good character traits, and one with bad. What was Marv Levy's old adage? something like" talent without character will not win in the NFL". Why would you want a player with a shady-criminal history as the face of the franchise? Kicked out of college for cheating on exams 3x times- turned in another students paper with his name on it.... 3 colleges in 3 years.... bought a stolen computer, and he knew it was stolen. Not to mention his father trying to secure $$ up front for his services, which is still under investigation. This guy screams RED FLAG, if all that doesn't bother you... then I would wonder about your character. 3) Mike Mayock had Jimmy Clausen rated as a QB with top ten ability but stated he will need work, and that his biggest question mark was his leadership ability. I wouldn't rush to judge Clausen just yet, they guy played on the worst team in the NFL last year with not much talent around him...kinda like Jake Locker at Washington You need to listen to what Locker stated about his play last season, he openly stated that last year he would often throw the ball away if the play wasn't there vs trying to make a play with his feet or throw an INT. The kid played on a bad team, and yet took them to a bowl game, and won it. I do know that there is a lot of local fan pressure for the Seahawks to draft Jake Locker, but why would I make that bet... I'd rather see him drop to the second round so Buffalo can draft him BTW, YOU were one that was flapping about Jake Locker's low score of 20 on his wonderlic test, I merely pointed out that HoFer Dan Marino scored less then Locker did with a 16... so that score of 20 really doesn't mean so much now does it.
  5. Mike Mayock has watched Locker and stated his accuracy can easily be improved with better footwork, I suppose its the difference between Sam Bradford who is deadly accurate in the pocket and started this year for the Rams vs Locker who needs a year to sit and develop. Its also why Mayock states Locker has top ten ability but is a late first rounder because he will need some time to develop. If the guy had Bradfords accuracy in the pocket he would be going #1 overall. This kid has all the same physical qualities as Cam Newton in that he can run and has killer accuracy outside the pocket (as good as any he has seen, states Mayock) and none of the red flags that Newton has, very much like a Tim Tebow clone who played on a bad team with no receivers. I wouldn't be upset to see the Bills draft this kid in the 2nd round. Per his 2010 year, it was tweeted by Adam Schefter that an anon GM stated that Locker was a bigger-taller-right handed version of Steve Young. Mel Kiper Jr had Locker rated as the #1 overall for 2011 before and after the 2010 NFL draft. In one game in 2007 he was taken off the field in an ambulance, taken to the hospital and then returned to the game and sideline wearing a neck brace to watch his team, tough kid. BTW, The advisory committee also stated Mark Sanchez wouldn't get drafted in the first round....
  6. Says the guy who loves "Cash"Newton.... Casserly was also smart enough to draft Mario Williams over Reggie Bush and Vince Young, plus he drafted Andre Johnson-Jerome Mathis-DeMeco Ryans-Owen Daniels while at Houston. The guy has THREE super bowl rings from the time he was with the Washington Redskins as an assistant GM and GM. I'll trust his judgment on knowing the difference between a quality character player and a PoS. BTW, just FYI, Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino scored a 16 on his wonderlic test. Mike Mayock also has Jake Locker ahead of Newton and his #2 QB overall in this years draft. He states Locker has top ten ability but has holes in his game, poor pocket awareness and accuracy within the pocket.... LIKE MOST OF US ALREADY STATED! This point of this thread is moot anyway, Locker won't get past Seattle in the first round.
  7. Yea not at #3 overall, but a 2nd round pick for certain My take is the Bills like Locker and I can see why, the only knock on this kid was his in the pocket accuracy, which BTW Mike Mayock states can be improved by working on his footwork. This guy has great athletic ability like Newton and doesn't carry the same baggage that "Cash" Newton carries. Locker is about the only top QB that ran a pro-style offense, but he was wildly inconsistent in his throws from the pocket, tho out of the pocket he was amazingly accurate. This kid reminds me of Jake Plummer, and with proper development he could be much better then Plummer IMHO. Charlie Casserly stated he wouldn't even have Cam Newton on his draft board because of his shady past, I agree. Ryan Mallett is another Drew Bledsoe- Joe Flacco type a strong pocket passer with lead feet, the Bills don't have near good enough O line to even consider drafting Mallett. Not to mention all the red flags shooting off this guy. The very last thing any NFL team should want is to draft a criminal as the face of their franchise. Personally, I like Christian Ponder more then Locker, but he would be a better fit for a team with a west coast offensive scheme
  8. Now, just think if the Pats go after Sidney Rice and manage to sign him, along with the two dozen draft picks they have this year.... Why on earth would the Patriots go and resign an aged... big mouth...who's best years are behind him, and he had an actual fight with Tom Brady in the locker room that got him sent packing Only 2 ways Moss goes back to New England ...NO WAY, and NO Effing Way!
  9. If Kolb couldn't get it done over Vick behind a better Philly line...he would get killed behind Buffalo's. Any QB the Bills go after either in the draft-trade-free agency won't help the run defense at all., which BTW has been one of the worst in the league for years. The Bills need to focus on defense, particularly run stoppers. Then they need to focus on O line and RT.
  10. What he stated was that "His" car is worth more then most peoples houses in Buffalo...then he proceeded to puff on and on about it in post after post. SKOOBY always stated "He" had the inside scoop to everything, and he was never correct about anything. The guy had a pic of himself shaking hands with the one and only Turk Schonert in his avatar, need I say more about his mental state? Turk Schonert was QB coach who was promoted to OC for one year, and was fired just two weeks before the season started in jaurons last season in Buffalo. If you want help remembering him, he was the moron who called the roll out against the Jets in which JP Losman fumbled the ball ....which was recoved and run in for a TD to lose the game, all the Bills needed to do was hand off to the RB a few more times and the game was won.
  11. I'd jump for joy also... I'd be fine with Peterson too. Right now this team needs players with grit and determination, and not some self proclaimed icon -entertainer. who really knows what this kid is going to be like once he gets paid... I'm hoping for defense with that first pick, and O line or Ponder-Locker with that second pick as the Bills need a developmental QB who can learn while the O line gets rebuilt.
  12. Good lord I hope not.... Newton is dropping out iof the top ten on many boards from what I'm seeing, the reason is teams have to many questions, and red flags about the person...however the guy certinly is a top ten player. The Buffalo Bills have been the worst team in the league for years against the run, lets hope they draft defense.
  13. Stupidity-ineptitude-moronic first come to mind, but then perhaps those words should be reserved for Jauron and his Aaron Maybin-John McCargo picks....still, Spiller was a waste last year when the team desperately needed LB's and a RT. I wouldn't be against drafting the best defensive player in this years draft in Peterson, or if he is gone then a DT-DE-LB.... yea, DEFENSE! The run defense needs the biggest upgrade, next is O line. Should the Bills ignore the O line again this draft I think they will have another 3-13 season, or worse. I don't see Fitz lasting more then 5 games with the current O line
  14. This guy is the "cleanest" player in this years draft, meaning that he is about the safest pick there is in this years draft. He was the best defensive player in college football last year, and is currently rated as the best defensive player in the draft. Just like Suh was rated the best defensive player in last years draft. I look at this guy and see the next Steve Atwater-Ronnie Lott-Troy Polamalu....I know the run defense stinks, but a game changing player like Peterson only comes along every once iun a great while, JMHO
  15. All this means is the man is doing his homework....lets hope he doesn't fall asleep while doing it.
  16. I have no idea why the NFL perception of drafting a CB with the #1 overall is not a good pick... that might have been the case in years past ....but, this is a different league now, and it is dominated by the best passing teams. So why not draft the best defensive player in the draft, even if he is a CB? Some of the current highest paid players in the NFL are QB's-DE-LT's-DT's and CB's, in that order. That order might change once a team makes an offer to Nnamdi Asomugha who is an URFA, the guy was set to make 16.8 million this year before the Raiders voided his contract This man is noted for being the premier cover corner in the NFL, and the best defensive free agent on the market, he also didn't allow a single TD pass to be thrown against him last season. There are like 3 very good cover corners Champ Bailey-Asomugha-Darrelle Revis, the Bills could use one IMO Peterson is 6ft 219 lbs and runs a 4.3 40, which is unheard of for a CB to be that big, and that fast!
  17. That indeed seems to be part of the problem, RW has been a notoriously cantankerous owner with his nose in everything that transpires at OBD....this main fact would seem to limit what type of coaches and GMs he can hire to run his team IMO Its not the fact that the guy isn't smart enough to hire top qualified front office personnel a top GM-President, or even pay them, its who would be willing to work with this man when he micro manages the team from his home in Detroit. I read here that he was on the phone to Chan Gailey every day for hours during the season, I'm sure he probably does the same thing with GM Budday Nix. This might be the reason why some men interviewed for the HCing job here in Buffalo and declined the job. Also, the man knew enough to hire top people at the right time in Bill Polian and Chuck Knox., so he does know the difference between a good head coach and a bad one. Another factor might be that RW doesn't want a take charge type of coach like Mike Shanahan or Bills Cowher, he wants someone who he can easily manipulate and control. Not a day goes by that I read in these forums that someone posts about how Marv Levy screwed the Bills when he was GM, funny how the guy who hired him doesn't get lambasted at all like Levy does, how about the fact that the team sucked before he was hired, sucked while he was GM and sucked after he retired. You want to blame someone for the 2000-2010 decade of losing and no playoffs, blame the man who was president of the team for most of that time. If Tom Donahoe and Marv Levy both failed at their jobs... who then should take responsibility for hiring them in the first place. Yea, thats right Mr Ralph Wilson, current president of the Buffalo Bills.
  18. They might have spoken to those four at the combine, but I'll bet its Ponder that gets the longest look
  19. Who is the Buffalo Bills highest paid player, Lee Evans...will he even be a Buffalo Bill next season? Anyway, looking at Maybin and Kelsay...does anyone have any realistic trust that this band of old guys will select a player that will actually earn 3rd spot $$, and contribute next season. How much money has Maybin been paid since he joined the Bills, his primary role is to sack the QB at DE/OLB....how many sacks does he currently have? First round pick John McCargo, how'd that pick work out.... CJ Spiller was supposed to make the O line block better, remember that line? he was supposed to be an exciting to RB....a guy that can't block, the #9 pick in the first round that can't outplay older free agent walk-on in Fred Jackson in any area. He had just 26 carries for 122 yards(4.69 YPC avg) makes you think the guy wasn't smart enough to learn the offense or blocking schemes, which made him a liability in all phases of the offense. 5 year 25M contract with 20.8 guaranteed So many of the players drafted by this franchise in the first round the last decade, I'd be hesitant to even call some of them good enough to be considered mediocre
  20. You are right, game tapes say it all....well almost all What about the play his OC called and Newrton decided to change it and then fumbled the ball...that could have lost the game for them.... Mike Mayock gave the kid a C for his performance in the NCG. This guy reminds me of a TO... only at QB, I think he will be nothing but trouble for the team that selects him. Why is this thread still going anyway, most of the NFL saw what he was like at the combine, if you can't perform in shorts with no pass rush... can't throw accuratly...big mouth....mememememe...show ME the money.... a project that will require the team that selects him to revamp their offense to a run and gun, wildcat
  21. Two words...Stew Barber, what a joke for a GM.....It just goes to show just how good Chuck Knox was in getting his Bills teams into the playoffs with that moron as GM.... Knox could take a team of ordinary men and turn them into a playoff team, a supreme motivator. I'd like to think that if Cousineau had played for Buffalo that Knox could have developed that kid into an all pro in no time, to me coaching is everything. Kinda sad the difference between the Bills and TC was only 20k...alas, we will never know. Only the Bills could draft a player 1st overall and have him go to the CFL instead of the NFL.....makes me wonder if this move had any influence on Jim Kelly choosing the USFL instead of Buffalo.
  22. some team desperate for a QB will grab him in the 1st round, I'm hoping it isn't the Bills as the guy is just to shady
  23. What ya gotta understand about Peterson are his measure-ables, at 6ft 219 lbs and runs a 4.32 forty is god like for a DB. This guy projects into another Steve Atwater-Ronnie Lott-Troy Polamalu type if he moves to safety, and even if he doesn't he can match up with any of the bigger receivers at CB, plus he has the speed to stick on any of them, not to mention he has phenom kick return skills.Like Suh was last year, this kid is the best defensive player in the draft. read this : http://www.cbssports...players/1632296 I wouldn't cry should the Bills draft this kid, especially if the top DE Bowers is gone
  24. here here, well said Considering they went into last years draft with the O line as a "priority" and came away with 5th and 7th, the 7th was cut in pre season and the 5th never started on a team that was desperate for stability at RT. Fitz helped make that line look better then it was by his quick release and quick decisions, but that didn't help him at all against teams like the Jets where he was running for his life the entire game, and he was the leading rusher in that game. The Bills can't run block at all, no TE, no RT and a LT that fades as the competition gets better. If they move Wood to center then they will need two tackles-guard-TE. Should Fitz get hurt with a severe injury this year ( he has missed games the last 2 years because of injuries)...the Bills will be vying for that 1st overall next year. This franchise will continue along its path of constant losing seasons that it has for the last decade until they build a proper O line....you would think that they would at least try and copy the Jets-Ravens who have both beaten the Patriots in NE.
  25. Very true, one bad season and he could easily fall just like Locker did... Locker was graded as a first round pick and there was talk he was the top QB during the season, once the smoke cleared at the end of the season he wouldn't have been the #1 overall even if he declared., Sam Bradford graded higher. Jake Locker is still a stud and still the 2nd best QB in this years draft IMHO . The guy was rated very highly prior to last season as the #1 overall this year. Adam Schefter stated he was a right handed Steve Young. Both Tod McShay and Mel Kiper Jr also had his as going #1 over all Locker ran a pro style offense but was drastically inconsistent last season, and scouts feel he needs a lot of work on his mechanics. Mike Mayock looked at his game tapes from last season and stated that he was awesome outside the pocket and had a much tougher time in the pocket behind center.BUT! He also stated that he noticed that just improving his footwork will help him greatly. I like Locker and after watching him at the combine I think that with a decent QB coach working with this kid, that he could very well develop into a top NFL QB.
