  1. we don't have long to wait to see if this guy is more then soundbites at this point His first year at GM 3 DL players @ #2 #3#6 and none of them break the starting lineup on a horrid 4-12 team--- CJ Spiller picked 9th in the first round, 26 carries-122 yards, and posters here complained about Poz & Donte. .....Is this kid another Maybin-McCargo? He did spend a lot of his time on the bench right next to those two Free agency last year, Cornell Green-Dwan Edwards-Andra Davis-Reggie Torbor.... That screaming I keep hearing isn't from that elusive baby, its from the fans complaining about not signing Clabo or Boss . According to that JS article the Bills offered Clabo the same as they paid Langston Walker in 07, jeez they couldn't offer a proven pro bowl RT more then what they gave Walker? Anyway, the season is right around the corner and we will see if any of this years additions (besides Darius) will make an impact. I'll start believing in the man when when I finally see that baby!
  2. He didn't catch on in Dallas or SD where they already have premier TE's, if he can play at a decent NFL level he could be a huge help on the offense for Fitz as a good TE can be the QB's best friend. This kid could be the answer at TE...or not. Time will tell
  3. This coaching staff and the players have a lot to prove this year, clearly the bookmakers don't think they will do very well this season. The Bills have a QB better then Miami-Cleveland-Minnesota-San Francisco-Seattle-Oakland-Cincinnati-Washington-Carolina-Arizona-NJ Jets so there is a chance they could finish the year with a better record then those teams...provided Fitz can stay upright and off the IR
  4. To bad he wasn't named as the new DC .... to go with trashing the 3-4 and just staying with the 4-3. I so wanna see Darius next to Kyle Williams and the Bills shutting down the run like they used to do with Pat Williams
  5. I get what your both saying about a personal trainer, although It is what I'm talking about, a million reps with a personal trainer won't ever equal game like conditions, which is what you get in training camp. The more reps he gets in camp as well as the more game experience he gets the better he will develop. Kinda tough to undo in one year what he has been doing his entire football life. The College coaches don't really care that much about technique and throwing motions, they care more about winning. I like Orton and think he is very much like Ryan Fitzpatrick, and if Tebow was a Buffalo Bill I would still say the kid needs more time to develop Anyway, kinda funny to read what Bronco fans post about Orton.... ""It really just shows how bad that extension screwed the Broncos. McDaniels gave Orton $9 MILLION for NO REASON, he would have taken less, he essentially made Orton untradable unless a team is desperate. I still think Miami or Washington might make a run for him though as they are both desperate at the QB position. Still, with every 3rd down not converted, with every botched comeback, the pressure will mount. And worst of all, we may have NO clue what to do in 2012 when it's draft time. That's what really screws over the franchise. Orton is a goner, he will be out of here, Quinn also, it's Tebow's fault if he apparently looks this bad in practice though. 6. Wasn't the Patriots current OC calling the plays last season but the team didn't want to name him as OC because other teams keep stealing the assistant coaches? I have to wonder if the Chiefs offense will be as good without OC Charlie Weis, who left the NFL to take a job as OC of the Florida Gators...which makes no sense to me. Anyway, like Jerry Glanville says, the NFL = Not For Long
  7. Glad you feel you can disregard one of the best talent evaluators (college to NFL) on the planet. Given that you don't value his opinion I'd have to say that most NFL GM's & HC's value it. Mayock has stated many times he has been offered several jobs by NFL teams and turned them all down, he prefers doing what he is doing with the NFL network. Who said anything about starting Tebow over Orton, I merely mentioned they should let him run the option-wildcat and he may eventually prove to be more of a winner. Ask any NFL player about getting into "football" shape, all the gym-personal coaching reps in the world don't equal what training camp does for a player. Stating that, I can only imagine that the best situation to develop in, is in training camp.
  8. Did you miss the part about 2-3 years down the road? Its been one year so far, and this off season hurt him because he couldn't train with the team. You want to give up on him that's fine, but considering his high character and great work ethic I'd give it some more time. Besides, the kid is a playmaker on the field, put him in a wildcat-option and let him do his thing every now and then like they did at the end of last season. He just might prove to be more of a winner then Orton.
  9. This is exactly what Jake Locker did, he wanted to graduate and finish what he started with his fellow teammates, very admirable IMO. Kinda why I like Locker and his high character over Cam Newton
  10. To all the Cam Newton lovers, this kid doesn't have that shady past like Newton. His throwing motion might not be as refined at this point but that shouldn't stop him from developing into a top QB. "Tim Tebow is at the head of the list as far as the intangibles are concerned and why wouldn't you take a chance on a guy like that?'' Mayock said. "The second piece of it is that you have to have a certain baseline minimal physical ability to play the position. And I believe he does. Athletically, he's gifted. "From an arm-strength perspective, he's got an above-average arm. It just comes out differently. He's got mechanical issues.'' Mayock compared those issues to those of former Texas quarterback Vince Young, the Titans starter selected third overall in the 2006 draft. "I know he's not a starting quarterback in the NFL this year,'' Mayock said of Tebow. "However, I'm betting on that kid…that he's going to be a starting quarterback in the league either two years or three years from now. http://content.usato...-of-nfl-draft/1 Like I said earlier, it would be foolish for Denver to give up on this kid so quickly. Elway might want that prototypical QB, if given the chance Tebow might very well develop into one.
  11. Kinda early for Denver to look at either QB and make any judgements with such a short off season. We all know Orton can play well enough to win, but clearly he is not, nor will ever be that "franchise" QB that all teams need. Tebow hasn't been able to train with the team at all in the off season so it could be expected he might have regressed in his throwing form to what he was in college. NBD from my view, he needs work as do all QB's that play in a college spread offense, from Cam Newton-Jake Locker et al. Tebow still has tremendous potential if developed properly, like Mike Mayock stated he is a one to two year down the road QB to start. It would be extremely foolish for Denver to be looking to trade the kid at this point, JMO. If Chan Gailey really wanted him, here is a chance to get him cheap.
  12. They might have a point about QB, but its not the QB play that is the problem. No upgrades yet for the line or TE, so we will see if Fitz or Tyler can survive the season. Week 3 against the Patriots....
  13. relax, the 5 year plan is right on track
  14. Makes no sense to worry about the line, clearly Nix & Gailey both think they can win.... as is! If the line can stay solid until week 3, that week is going to be very telling if both Wilfolk and Haynesworth are healthy
  15. not sadly for us....
  16. Because they want to win?
  17. "Outstanding" staff of college coaches Gailey got from his stint as HC at GT? From what I read the Bills offered Clabo what they offered Derrick Dockery back in 07 ! geez the difference is that Claybo is a pro bowler and young enough to lock down the RT position for years....doesn't look like a worthwhile offer to me. Clearly the O line and LB's are the weakest area of this team and still need to be addressed, especially if they plan on utilizing a 3-4. Some more time to build this team into a contender in the AFC East..... looking now like around 3 more years.
  18. I beg to differ, aside from QB the skins all around have a worse lineup. The Skins have no RB, no WR's, a O line arguably worse then the Bills and their defense is even more depleted Things could still change for both teams as free agency still isn't over. Bottom line is Marvin Lewis isn't going anywhere, but who knows how long Shanahan will survive with Mr can't wait as the owner. Then again, John Beck at QB http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/depth-chart/WAS/washington-redskins
  19. They look so bad right now they could actually be trying to tank this season to get their hands on Luck, who btw is playing in a WSO scheme at Stanford.
  20. He took those right before the combine, that and p90x. Clearly this guy is another Mike D Williams in that all he wanted was a big payday. Probably why he held out....asking for as for max $$ a perfect example as to why you never should draft a one year wonder
  21. That is because the owner chooses to have the cheapest ticket prices in the NFL.... what this man doesn't realize is he is the owner of one of only 32 teams in America's most popular sport. Put a winner on the field and he could charge top prices, instead he wants to go the Walmart way. Bill Polian tried in vain to teach him how to build a successful NFL franchise, Wilson does things his way. The biggest flaw in the history of the team has been the owners reluctance to hire a top president-GM-head coach and give them the power, and when he did happen to hire-find the right people he didn't retain them for whatever reason. Let's not forget that this owner had a GM who was arguably the most brilliant football mind the NFL has seen for the last 30 years in Bill Polian, and fired him He had John Butler (AJ Smith) and fired him He had Chuck Knox and didn't retain him You can make up any "small market" analogy you want, the bottom line is this owner is simply happy with a profitable business.... rather then a winning organization.
  22. While Bell has allowed few sacks ...he has allowed many pressures. Plus every time the Bills face a tough opponent and the game comes down to crunch time he folds. Everyone that reads this board must know my stance on the current players by now, I only like the guards. Signing a RT like Clabo would have been to bring in a monster of a player at RT, and it would have also given the line the leadership it needs from a probowler This line is still young and inexperienced, it remains to be seen in they will progress this season or get owned
  23. now now, he did get 35 calls a day, from grocery store clerks and shoe salesman
  24. Exactly What about the athlete who wants to win, hates losing and the mentality surrounding it. Somthing that in my mind that encompasses almost every player I've ever known or met. When this team / owner finally decides he has had enough of losing (something I doubt he will ever do at this late date) and hires the right people to run the football side of things and they build the franchise into a winner, then this franchise will have no trouble bringing in any player.
  25. well stated The 3-4 at this point really makes no sense to me considering the Bills have more talented linemen then LB's... give wannstache the nod and let him do his thing!
