  1. Its almost like this offensive staff doesn't even watch film on the upcoming opponent at times, and doesn't know what to expect. Then doesn't really have the wherewithal to compensate when changes are needed. Probably the best way to explain it is to say go back and watch the Buffalo Bills.com post game show after the Texans game in which they interview WR Mike Williams who had 2 catches for 84 yards, and a TD. Just search "we adjusted a little too late" and listen to what he says. He basically states that the Bills offense went into that game thinking the Texans were going to be in a specific pass defense, and so the Bills game planned against that coverage. Then it wasn't until late in the 3rd quarter until the Bills OC realized the Texans were in a completely different pass coverage, and then made an adjustment. Mike Williams stated that when we get the calls for off coverage, and zone and the opponent in is press man then things tend to not work. Now, you would think that with the Bills OC watching his offense on the field he would recognize what coverage's his offense is playing against after one series and make the proper adjustments. Its not even like the Bills opponent is playing chess, and the Bills OC is playing checkers, as its worse then that. Now think about how much of an island Orton is on in a game when he probably needs to do everything on his own to get anything done. The entire offensive coaching staff should be fired and replaced, and since offense is Doug Marrone's forte. Then think about how he has been "hands on" with the O line the last two years, and its among the worst in the NFL.
  2. Anyone else besides me see Kraig Urbik being pushed 5 yards into the backfield where he tackled Spiller for a 5 yard loss? 6:22 in the first quarter, 2nd and 4 to go. single back set with 7 bills on the line blocking 5 raiders. #94 for the Raiders Antonio Smith blows up the play 5 yards in the backfield. If he hadn't made the tackle then two other Raiders defenders were right there to make the stop before Spiller even hit the line of scrimmage. This has to be the most god awful offensive line blocking I've ever seen. The Bills O linemen are so bad they can't handle scrub players one on one. The entire offensive coaching staff needs to be fired, and since that is Maroons forte...
  3. C'mon man, this GM, HC, OC have had two years to get things right. The O line has been bad since the FO let the decent starting LG, and his backup walk away in 2012. Fix the O line, and many good things follow. Just look at the Dallas Cowboys and their first round pick of a stud OG. Instead this GM chose to give up 2 #1's & a 4th i draft picks for a WR when the team still didn't have the franchise QB. The Bills lame OC was just as lame last season, and was retained. The HC can't be bothered to help the OC because he is to busy helping his good bud the ST coach. The offensive coaching staff actually regressed this season, the line regressed, the run game regressed. But hey, lets throw all the blame on the QB as usual. Everything could have, and should have been fixed the first year of this regime, and instead the Bills are facing the exact same issues they faced in 2012. Need a better QB, need a better O line, need better offensive coaching.
  4. Look at the coaching staff over that time frame, all the lowest cost hires in the league. You get what you pay for in this life. Because the coaching staffs stink so badly, then so do the draft picks, the O lines, the QB's, and it all starts at the top.
  5. Look at last season, as this mans teams tend to play up to the level of their competition or down to it, and probably always will. Then if he can't even compete against the Patriots he is worthless in my view, 0-3 so far. All we Bills fans can do is hope the new owners demand more then 8-8, and the GM & HC reporting to the finance / marketing guy.
  6. I'd be shocked should the Saints fire Payton, or want to dump Drew Brees! Forget the idea of offering an OC job, and offer the HCing job.
  7. In my view the Bills OC should be smart enough to exploit that Raiders 24th ranked run defense. If he isn't smart enough he shouldn't even be calling the offensive plays. I guess we just see things differently. I can't blame the QB as the biggest problem when the Bills OC calls for only 13 run plays all game against the 24th ranked run defense. Then forces him to throw 49 times against the 7th ranked pass defense. That to me is simply the most moronic offensive coaching I've seen in a long while. Then when the Bills run the ball with the very predictable run plays. Clearly stacking the line isn't the way to gain yardage on the ground with these players. How can Spiller do well when Kraig Urbik whiffs on his block and allows the defender to hit Spiller -5 yards behind the line of scrimmage? Antonio Smith ran right thru Urbik's weak attempt at a block...it is almost comical on how bad Urbik is. The run game isn't working well because of the sub par blocking, and lack of good calls in getting the RB's open. Last week the Bills at least ran a few misdirection run plays, fake reverses. My list is O line, Hackett, WR's, Orton, RB's.
  8. I disagree, as it won't take that long if proper changes are made. The Bills need a real football man at the top, and the GM / HC shouldn't be reporting to the finance / marketing guy ever again. A good head coach hire, or even a top NFL offensive coordinator could turn this team around in one season. Along with some changes to the offensive scouting dept would go a long way to upgrading this team very quickly. JMO
  9. Hopefully Marrone takes the Michigan HCing job, and takes Mr Can't Hackett with him. Things should get better once those two jamokes are history
  10. Grats BB, 6 Buffalos are you.
  11. As soon as Marcel Dareus went out the Raiders exploited his departure, and later the Bills lost Gilmore, and they exploited that. The Raiders defense #7 against the pass, and 24th against the run. So the Bills OC exploited himself with 49 passes vs 13 rushes. I can't blame this loss on the defense.
  12. 49 passing attempts vs 13 rushes, and that against the 24th run defense, #7 pass defense. Yep, Orton sucks, and the offensive coaching sucks harder.
  13. So many fans just don't see this, and sadly just want to blindly point at the QB. Orton does suck, so why oh why ask him to throw 49 times The Raiders were 24th against the run, and 7th against the pass. So, naturally Hackett forces Orton to throw 49 times while rushing only 13 times. That has to be the most moronic coaching ever.
  14. Andy Levitre graded as the Bills best pass blocker, and a not so great run blocker. I want a Zack Martin / Joel Bitonio type OG who can bulldoze people in the run game.
  15. Care to reevaluate that order? Just wondering.
  16. freaking sad isn't it? The Bills play down to their competition on the road at times, and this was the worst time to do it.
  17. Guys c'mon. Hackett just calls plays blindly, and doesn't take anything into account that could disrupt the plays. The opponents coaches are playing chess, and Hackett is playing checkers. Oakland had the #24th ranked run defense, and the 7th ranked pass defense going into this game. So what game plan should we expect from Can't Hackett? Yep, Bills with 49 passes vs 13 rushes....exactly
  18. With good reason, as he wanted more changes at the OG position in the off season, and was told by the FO that the players he had on the roster were good enough. Like I said its going to be three years since Andy Levitre, and still nobody even close to comparable to replace him. FO failure! Offensive scouts Failure!
  19. It will be going on three years now that this FO has failed to properly upgrade the line after letting LG Andy Levitre walk, and his backup at OG in Chad Rinehart who has been a solid starter in San Diego since he left. Then the Bills offensive scouts have some serious issues when you consider that should the Bills have not been able to trade up for Sammy, they would have drafted Eric Ebron #1, and Cyrus Kounandjio #2. The #7 draft pick at OT is a starter, and the second rounder stinks. if the players drafted were switched, Kouandjio would have been cut long ago.
  20. The Bills finally have owners who will spend to the cap, and hire whatever coaches are needed to get to the playoffs. Now is the time to feel really good about the future.
  21. game over...season over...
  22. holy crap, Orton hears a boo, and hits Woods for a TD!
