  1. No they aren't. The Denver defense is way better in the LB's and secondary, even the D line. The Denver O line is way better, don't forget the bills are fielding a cast off scrub the Bronco's cut Fitz might be the better technical pocket passer atm, But Tebow has that team believing they can beat anyone, and he and that option style of offense will prove it when they play Buffalo
  2. I agree, he hasn't played well the last 3 weeks. I am also willing to cut him some slack because of the injuries to that O line, Also because the OC-HC refuse's to try and get the running game working after the defense goes into the toilet This HC still hasn't learned that when the team is down by 21 points and then they continuously try to throw throw throw with a completely horridly bad O line....IT DOESN'T WORK! The Bills managed a great comeback against the Patriots and their horridly bad defense early in the season. That was before all the injuries to the line. BTW, good luck to Chan Gailey keeping his job if he benches Fitz and starts Pigpen. The last time i looked Tyler couldn't get the ball to the open receiver in under 3 seconds like Fitz can
  3. Jason Peters is just another example of Bills players the Bills no longer wanted a decided to get rid of.... long list Tell me this team couldn't have used the guy at LT the last few years
  4. I disagree. I see it as completely Gaileys fault. Why on earth does the team keep throwing when it isn't working? Fitz was able to make come backs earlier in the year when the line wasn't so banged up and the running game was actually working. Was it Fitz's fault that Fred Jackson only got 7 rushes for 17 yards? I look at this Phins game and the exact same thing happened in Dallas, the offense continually goes 3 and out trying to pass and the defense just keeps giving up points Is Chan Gailey also responsible for that horrible defense, you bet he is. He made Edwards the DC and has stuck with him. Thigpin didn't look so great after he replaced Fitz BTW what happened with the QB' guru's ability to transform Trent Edwards and Brian Brohm?
  5. Ohh a 3 TIME POSTER...learn some reading comprehension noob, Osi said it, not me! I think I'll take the opinion of the NY Giants 2x all pro player over yours In case you missed the link http://articles.nyda...cks-chris-canty
  6. So those first 5 games were an anomaly? The real Fitz has shown himself in the last 3 games? You guys think Rodgers or Brady could do better behind that PoS line? That Bills pocket is totally collapsed after 3 seconds, there is no where to run to wait for the receiver to break open like Rodgers does, no pocket to step up into like Brady has. What the heck happened to the running game after that first series? Do I need to remind everyone.... QB ""The team that takes the shortest amount of time to throw is the Buffalo Bills. Fitzpatrick, also a top-10 quarterback according to Total QBR, has to get the ball out so quickly because Buffalo's offensive line is the second-worst in the league at allowing pass pressure within three seconds in the pocket."" And that was before Eric Wood went on IR... http://articles.nyda...cks-chris-canty The NY Giants changed their style of defensive play just for Fitz. ""The Giants' pass rush won't necessarily surrender Sunday, but it will change tactics. Big Blue has piled up 11 sacks since Umenyiora's Week 4 return, but isn't likely to get many against Buffalo. On average, Fitzpatrick fires the ball just 1.5 seconds after taking the snap, Umenyiora said. "On set plays," Umenyiora said, "nobody can get to him." Yea Fitz has had a bad time the last 3 games, perhaps he is trying to hard since his big payday. I still believe he is the best QB the Bills have had since Jim Kelly the real problem on this team has been the defense all year. they looked ok when they were getting turnovers, but when the turnovers stopped they look like their stats show, a complete sieve. That Bills defense made Phins QB Matt Moore look like a Brady-Rodgers... they were so pathetic 14-20 160 yards 3 TD's.
  7. Yea, he over threw Johnson on that one play. It was on a 3rd down and 2 play. If you go back and watch it, Fitz looks right and then spins around to throw quickly to Johnson, it didn't work...stuff happens. I'm not going to fault the QB for losing the game because of that one errant pass. Spiller had a clear hole, he stuttered and it closed fast.... this is the NFL, everyone is fast. Fitz is still a remarkable QB that is lacking a decent surrounding cast, he needs a stud WR that can get open off the line, an O line that can block so that his TE can be free to catch the ball more often. a RB behind FJ that can block in protections, find holes and run thru them, and make big plays.
  8. Fitz can still get the ball out in under 1.5 seconds and complete the pass to a receiver in under 3 seconds. The problem is ....no receiver is open anymore, they can't make any separation from opposing DB's. Teams now know how to defend against Fitz by jamming the receivers at the line to disrupt the timing. Plus the Bills don't have a Brandon Marshall type who can bull his way off the line to make plays and make the catches. Fitz needs more then 3 seconds now to wait for his receiver to get open, sadly that makeshift O line can't even give him 2 at times. Do the Bills miss Lee Evans? With his deep speed that opponents were forced to respect, and were forced to cover the guy when he went deep. The fact is that this opened things up for Stevie Johnson to make plays while making Evans look bad because he was getting doubled and Johnson was making the catches. So what now, now that Johnson is the #1 receiver and he is seeing that double coverage, do the Bills trade him for a 4th? That O line is so much worse off without Eric Wood. They never could hold a block for more then 3 seconds even with the line completely healthy, now they can't run block at all without Wood. Eric Wood was playing some great football and although Levitre played decently at LT he should have stayed at LT or moved back to guard. The lack of depth on this line is killing this team. Cutting the hangman is sure looking like the stupidest move Where is the running game to help take pressure off the QB ...Fred Jackson 7 for 17 yards a 2.4 ypc avg, Johnny White 2 for 6 yards, Spiller 3 for 2 yards. No where, that's where Its a team game and the QB needs a decent team around him, one that can hold a block, one that can make a hole. I'm already sick of this "finesse" offense crap P S not sure who the GB Packers have on their staff who is the one the evaluating talent, the Bills need to hire him.
  9. What about now...? Like I stated earlier in this thread, its a long season. The lack of depth on that line is clearly killing this team, and now that Wood is gone for the season....they are done
  10. You gotta know it will be a DB
  11. Now think what the O line and offense would be like if the Bills would have invested some some EARLY draft picks for that line instead of Spiller and trying to build for the defense. ""2) Please, spare me the complaints about Levitre, OK? Thanks so much. He had no business at OC. Period."" You can't fault the guy for trying to do what he is asked to do by his coaches, is it his fault Nix and Gailey refuse to use the draft to build the line. Change is coming....again!
  12. What gets me is when Nix and Gailey went into their first draft they were asking about the O line, they both stated it was a "priority" then they didn't draft anyone until round 5, and again in round 7. Both were after thoughts and both have been cut. I just don't get how an offensive minded HC can keep trying to make do with 3 scrubs on it! Whats crazy tho is the scrubs picked off the waiver wire are not the biggest problem
  13. PLAYOFFS....PLAYOFFS ...(in the voice of Jim Mora) this team will be lucky to finish 8-8, and the way they are currently playing they may end up 5-11 As Phill Simms pointed out this Bills team does things with smoke and mirrors, even Gailey admitted as much when Simms interviewed him. A finesse team that tries to fool other teams with their offensive scheme. Well, other teams have figured out what the Bills offense has been doing and is now shutting it down. Even if the team was completely healthy I doubt they win many games because of this. I don't think anyone understands how much the loss of Eric Woods at center means to this team, even last year with Wood at guard the O line looked bad. It would be a struggle to make plays with Wood, without him they are really screwed. The defense is in even worse shape then the offense, because now that the offense can't stay on the field and score. The D has to spend the majority of the time on the field and wear itself out. The defense is bad at making tackles, staying in their gaps, no discipline and bad coaching. Change is coming....again
  14. Fitz is not the problem...should the Bills get rid of Fred Jackson because he looks not so great in some games? The problem is the O line and the defense
  15. not true, there are a bunch, and its a team game so the chain is only as strong as its weakest link it doesn't help if the DC is clueless
  16. Nix doesn't believe in building thu free agency, which is a huge mistake
  17. The entire defense stinks, missed tackles...players out of position ...no discipline = bad coaching
  18. Yea it would... I just don't think you guys understand how badly messed up that O line currently is, or how much impact losing Eric Wood will have. Fitz and Freddy can do a lot with very little and small holes, they can't do anything with no time and no holes.
  19. Anyone else remember what that O line was like before Wood moved to center.... and yea, lets hope someone is healthy enough at LT so Levitre can move back to LG
  20. exactly... not to pee in anyone's cheerios but this team could be done... teams have figured out how to shut down Fitz....the defense is a sieve Unless Chris kelsay can return and get some pass rush AND Chan Gailey can figure out a new strategy other then short quick passes.... this team might not win another game ...Losing Eric Wood just might have put that last proverbial nail in I would dearly love it to see them get to 10-6, but I'm not a dreamer, I'm a realist. I just don't see things getting better unless Nix can find some players to fill in and or players can return from injuries.
  21. NFN, but the Bills did get 10 sacks on the Redskins with Chris kelsay at OLB and MD moved to NT. Granted the Skins are a bad team with woeful O line injuries, kinda like the Buffalo Bills are right now.The Bills were paper thin at the start of the season and now are paying the price of not having adequate depth, this team couldn't afford to lose any players and yet have lost so many. If the Bills ever get Kelsay back it should help get more pressure on the QB. What gets me is ...these are about the very same players that Jauron and Fewell were able to mold into a top 5 passing defense, along with the very same defensive backs coach! Now they are currently 29th against the pass! WTH happened to the pass defense? The run defense which set a Buffalo Bills record for being bad last season managed to move up to 24th this year. Not sure who to replace Edwards with at this point, if Wannstedt were worth a damn that defense would have improved more then it has, JMHO
  22. Bills lost their best O lineman for the season in Wood, guards playing LT, guards playing center, backups playing guards. Both pass rushers injured and one on IR. The only pro bowl player on IR, a starting WR on IR. This team didn't have very much depth to begin with and the starting QB was a back up, the starting RB was a back up, the receiver corps is a bunch of nobody's all overachieving. The problem is that Fitz only has the time to throw those short quick passes, and when his receivers get mugged at the LoS and the timing disrupted it kills the only part of the passing game that has been working. The offensive passing game is in shambles and Gailey hasn't been able to adjust, the defense is still 29th overall-29th against the pass and 23rd against the run. When the defense doesn't force turnovers they simply look horrid and give up big plays and miles of yardage. Fred Jackson gets 114 yards on 13 carries, a 8.7 YPC avg and they fail to run the ball more. Most were saying at the start of the season that the Bills would be lucky to finish 8-8... they still might be. @ Miami-@ Jets- Tennessee at Buffalo-@ San Diego-Miami at Buffalo-Denver at Buffalo- @ NE Buddy Nix needs to scour the waiver wire and other teams practice squads like he did last year and bring in some help. Gailey needs to figure out how to get that passing game going again, stack the receivers, more tight ends, no huddle...something
  23. Not really... not until they draft some O line players that can stay healthy, or find some in free agency. Teams have figured out how to stop the short quick passes, and because the OT's can't give Fitz more then 3 seconds to throw, the Bills can't utilize 5-7 step drop passes. So there is no mid range and deep passing game.Gailey needs to show that he can adjust and find another way to get the passing game working. While I agree Gailey has managed to get the most out of a team of cast offs and back ups, he still needs to show he can adjust when the opposing defense shuts down Fitz and Fred. Then there is the defense, how many years have they tried to find a decent pass rusher and failed?
  24. On the contrary Fred Jackson rushed for 114 yards on 13 carries = 8.7 YPC avg. Gailey simply didn't run him enough, same with the Jets game. The Bills won those 5 games utilizing the quick short passes and runs by Freddy to open up the mid range passes. But the fact is that now teams have adjusted to stop the short passing game, and like someone else stated Gailey just doesn't have a plan B. He just keeps trying to make the passing game work no matter what. This is the exact same strategy that Turk Schonert used to run. No matter how much duress the QB is under he kept calling passing plays, shotgun passing plays. Gailey has a great running back in Fred Jackson, and some games he simply doesn't run the ball enough. Spiller and Brad Smith don't get enough touches either in games where the QB is under heavy pressure Another thought is the Bills went to the "no huddle" in the 4th QTR against the Jets for their only TD, I don't get why Chan doesn't at least try to utilize that more often. Get the running game going with Fred and then fast pace the defense so they can't make substitutions.
  25. If that O line was intact and not on their 3rd guy at OLT, back ups at center and guard they might have stood a better chance at allowing Fitz to throw more medium to deep passes. But even when he went deep to Spiller, and hit him in the hands, the guy dropped it, Jones dropped some also. If I'm not happy with something about the offense its Gaileys inability to build a more diverse offensive passing attack. Plus Spiller and Smith don't touch the ball very often. That offense needs to became more diverse other the handing off to Freddy and Fitz throwing short quick passes. The entire team laid an egg in that Jets game, not just Fitz.. Look at the offensive numbers for that game the Bills were about equal to what the Jets did on offense, the biggest difference was the Jets defense was so much more effective in almost every aspect
