So much for the poster who announced a 4pm press conference -
Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
thewildrabbit replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't catch that 5 hours ago. Shoot, 5 hours ago they thought Mario had left Buffalo and stated such. If Mario is really waiting to see what Peyton does, then he won't sign tonight. Manning has to make a choice by tomorrow or the Cards pay Kevin Kolb -

Its not my money so IDC Mario has stated its not all about the money tho, its the scheme and team **UPDATE** NFL network stating that Mario might be waiting to see what happens with Manning because Tenn also has an interest Mario. Right now the bills have the best offer on the table, but if Manning signs with some team other then Tenn they would up their offer. If that is the case then the amount does matter to Mario -

Man, I sure hope the Bills get this guy... because all the while they are courting super Mario....other teams are snapping up the rest of the top free agents out there Question for Ieatcrayonz, why do they call them free agents when they cost so much money to acquire? -

Its almost unreal, I'll wager a bunch took off from work today to keep informed....and yet we know NOTHING! -
The teams that need a QB are waiting to see what Peyton Manning does before they go after Flynn, an obvious unknown commodity. Kevin Kolb -Matt Leinhart anyone? The Bills have more need at other positions to go after another one of those guys BTW just read that the Seahawk's will bring in Flynn on Thursday now that Manning refused to even meet with them, again NFC thing I thin. Someone on twitter was saying Flynn to Browns, and very close to a deal

Last night I was startled by an incredibly loud sound, almost like a sonic boom...only louder. I'm not sure, but I think it was one of two things. Either it was the sound of half a million Buffalo Bills fans knees all hitting the ground at the same time.... when they heard Mario was leaving without signing...or a half a million hearts breaking. The world isn't going to end because Mario Williams signs somewhere else. You can lead a horse to water.... Yeah, the Buffalo Bills signing super Mario would have given the team something they have been lacking since Aaron Schobel in 09, a pass rush!! It also would have given the franchise instant credibility around the league as they will spend whatever it takes to field a winner. eff him if he doesn't want to be a Bill, eff Robert Meachem too, then eff AJ Smith with moose dangle for tabbing Meachem while still in Buffalo being entertained by the Bills, then eff his agent 5 times. Now to the reality, Buddy Nix is going to do exactly what he said he would do when he first was hired, build thru the draft! Hopefully he has a backup plan in place should Mario go elsewhere. There is still OT Eric Winston -CB Brandon Carr - OT Jared Gaither- WR Brandon Lloyd- DE Jason Jones- CB Aaron Ross- DE Cory Redding - OT Marcus McNeil - DE Andre Carter- DE Kendal Langford - OT Jeff Backus - OT Kareem McKenzie- DE Luis Castillo- OT Anthony Collins - WR Tedd Ginn, and others Then there are trades that could be made. Like I pointed out in a different thread the Eagles are now leery of giving DeSean Jackson a huge contract and they let it be known he could be had in a trade. The Eagles franchise tagged him so he will make 9.5 million this year. In my view he is worth more then Vincent Jackson as he is a faster deep threat and a good PR. Offer the Eagle next years a #2 or 2 #3's after the draft and see what happens. Talk to Jackson and see if he wants to be a Buffalo Bill. In my view Mario for 15 million a year is over paying when the team has more holes then just a pass rusher. The Bills have the ability and cap space to fill in most of the needs and even add some depth in free agency and then go for BPA in the draft. Lets face it guys, no top player wants to play for a perennial loser. One winning season could change all that. Also, lets hope Manning goes to Denver
-
Dick Jauron went after TE Tony Gonzalez and instead Tony chose Atlanta. Does that make Jauron great because he saw a hole and tried to fill it with a proven commodity? I'm not giving Nix credit for failing. I can recall this Bills FO stating that they were going to hire a top HC and money was no object after they fired Jauron, they were gonna spend 10 million if that's what it takes. Remember that? They even flew in Mike Shanahan and Bill Cowher and spoke with both, what happened? You can't make top players / coaches want to come to a loser.
-
You are right, I do find it hard to imagine a GM not caring about winning his first year. Particularly one who stated he didn't think the team was "that far away" before the 2010 season. I understand that hope springs eternal in the minds of most Bills fans, its what kept the stadium filled the last decade despite all the losing. But jeez, think ya can wait until Nix actually does something brilliant before you start praising him for it. So far, SSDY

I know some asked for the link in other threads, didn't see any so here it is. ""Gailey said today that he thinks the Bills, based on the team they already have and the additions they’re going to make in free agency and the draft, have a good chance of being the 2012 AFC East champions."" http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/13/chan-gailey-bills-are-confident-we-can-win-the-afc-east/
-
Yea, I also remember the Bills FO talking about spending whatever it takes to sign a top head coach after they fired Jauron...something about 10 million! Point being, lets wait and see what actually happens in free agency...talk is cheap

Brandon Marshall on his way out of Miami

I guess every team out there but the Bears missed Marshall's performance in the pro bowl, look what happened when he had a decent QB throwing to him. -

Sweet, the moron Phins just traded away their best offensive weapon Doubt Manning goes to Miami now. Plus he didn't even both to go thru the Miami clubhouse and met the HC in Indy. On second thought, 2 #3's for Marshall.... Jeez -

I take it you are deaf and were trying to read their lips...or to lazy to actually watch it Schefter stated at first two teams he knew were strongly interested in Mario were Detroit and Tenn, but since the Lions franchised Cliff Averil and Tenn now is going full bore after Peyton Manning. The Bears are in play, again the Titans...the Eagles because they are always hush hush about what they will do. Schefter thinks the Falcons and Texans are not in the Mario hunt -
