Where does Fitzpatrick Rank?
thewildrabbit replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering the lack of talent on the teams he has been the QB on...yea, i also think he has done an awesome job in Buffalo the last two years. Everyone seems to have a selective memory after those first 6 games of last year as Fitz was getting a lot of pro bowl votes, and not just from Bills fans. Then Jackson and Wood go on IR and the offense went into the toilet. Bell out injured, a rookie at LT ...who was also out injured awhile. Levitre moving from guard to LT to center and back to guard. Roscoe Parrish on IR again, David Nelson hurt, Scott Chandler out hurt. Seems like only a handful of players started and played in all 16 games. In the first part of last year Fitz was a top ten QB, he is not the reason the team only won 6 games... the buck stops at the GM & HC. -

Thought we agreed comparing QB stats was pointless? Anyway, It seems further discussions with you on this topic are looking moot as you obviously just don't have the imagination to think what would happen to Matt Ryan if he had been the Bills QB the last two years. Clearly you just don't comprehend just how bad the Bills teams have been the last two years in terms of WR's,TE's and O line. Not evey QB in the league could have done as well as Fitz with the talent he has around him, 3000 yards in 2010 is unreal. Then 3800+ yards in 2011 with one half way decent WR on the roster and the 3rd string QB as the #2 WR. is almost unbelievable to me! I suppose you just don't see it. BTW, Matt Ryan hasn't really done all that great in terms of playoff wins considering how good a team he has been on since he was drafted by Atlanta, same coaches, same system, same players and yet not one play off win. 11-5, 9-7, 13-3,10-6. The year they went 13-3 they were smoked by the 9-7 Packers in Atlanta. Think for a min what Jim Kelly did with the Bills when he arrived in 86. Kelly in his first playoff game, he won it. In his first 4 years with the Bills he had already been to a SB and won numerous HOME playoff games. So Matt Ryan's ability to win big games is very questionable considering the talent around him. -

thewildrabbit replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now you are arguing just to argue. Matt Ryan has not won a single play off game despite having some of the best talent in the NFL on his offense. The #8 overall best WR in the league in Roddy White, (White was the #2 WR in 2010) plus a new top rookie WR in Julio Jones that was making all sorts of big plays when he wasn't injured. A future HoF, and one of the very best tight ends in the league in Tony Gonzalaz. The #3 RB in the NFL in Michael Turner. There is no freaking comparison to Stevie Johnson who was the #19 best WR in the league last year, and he still dropped a lot of passes. Fred Jackson & Eric Wood who both could have made the pro bowl if they lasted more then 9 & 10 games respectively. Like I said, you can't compare a crap team to a team loaded with talent Their O line is way better then the Bills, kinda why Buddy Nix went after their RT Tyson Clabo last off season. Their defense was way better....again I shouldn't have to keep reiterating these same points over and over. Either you like to argue over nothing or you love Matt Ryan, and IDC which. Fitz did way more with way less and almost no team around him for 2 years now. Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco or Mark Sanchez wouldn't have lasted the season on their feet as the starting QB in Buffalo. I'd take Fitz as QB of the Buffalo Bills over any of those 3. The Bills still need to upgrade that O line, upgrade the WR's & TE's or nothing changes on the offense... I'll try to get some more detailed info on exactly what some coaches think on this subject. I still think you are way off base that he has deep ball accuracy issues because of his throwing motion ....or the guy simply wouldn't be an NFL QB. -

thewildrabbit replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think you get what I'm saying. Ryan, Flacco, and Sanchez might all look good to great on paper, or even on their respective teams. But none of those guys would have lasted very long behind the Bills O line the last two years. I'm happy for you that you think Ryan is the better QB on a better team or even Flacco. I happen to think both those QB's would have sucked badly in Buffalo. My take is not one of those 3 would have survived a season. We fans honestly don't know if Fitz can be better then Matt Ryan or not, look at the crap Bills teams he has been on. How many times do I need to point out the deficiencies of the Bills teams the last two years, or the pro bowlers and super stars on the Falcons, Ravens, Jets. I for one would really like to see what Fitz could do with a good or even a half way decent team around him for a full season. -

thewildrabbit replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Earlier in this thread I posted a youtube video of Fitz throwing a 50 yard pass to Stevie Johnson, perfectly thrown ball over Johnson's outside shoulder where the defender couldn't reach it even if he were right on top of Johnson.( too bad Johnson dropped it) I'll stand by my opinion that Fitz doesn't always have a pocket to step up into, and he tries to get the ball out so fast he isn't always properly setup when he does throw it. Fitz reminds me of Favre who didn't always strive to set up properly and threw the ball when he thought he could make it work. Brett Favre also holds the NFL career record in interceptions with his version of gunslinger mentality. I'd have to think if Fitz's throwing motion was causing his inaccuracy I can't imagine Chan Gailey being fine with it, and not trying to correct it. JMO tho. Anyway, regardless of Fitz. This team isn't going very far if they don't fix that O line this year. Buddy Nix went after OT Tyson Clabo last off season in July and after the draft, and I think he had a strong reason to do so. This move tells me that Nix wasn't entirely happy with that line. The problem is after he couldn't sign Clabo it looked like he gave up in adding OT depth to that line. Then to compound that issue the Bills cut G, back up center Geoff Hangartner in preseason....this one move really screwed the Bills hopes of a winning season. Hangman was the only reliable back up center on the team. Do you recall that Miami game where Levitre was the center, what a nightmare. Then after last season judging the performance of that line after Bell had his season long injury troubles, then Eric Wood went on IR in week 9...that's when the long downhill slide started big time. This is the second year in a row that Center Eric Wood finished the year on IR. I know nobody remembers, but I stated last off season that the line would haunt the team all year. I'm thinking it will again unless the Bills add more talent and depth. If I'm Buddy Nix I'm looking at the up coming draft and trying to figure out how I draft either OT Riley Reiff / Jonathan Martin THEN trade back up in the first round and get either guard OG David DeCastro / Cordy Glenn. Woo, what a line the Bills would have in 2012 -
I started a thread a few weeks back about this same subject, and at that time the Patriots didn't have one FB on their roster. In my thread I stated its like Belichick totally forgot what helped win those 3 SB's. In 2001-2003 it was the I formation, ex Bills RB Antowain Smith along with 3rd down back Kevin Faulk plus a top defense. Then in 2004 it was Clock killin RB Corey Dill\on, FB Larry Centers plus a top defense. Of course Tom Brady was there the entire time but that SB winning Patriot offense ran the ball way more often back then. The Bills finally fixed the pass rush that has been a major problem with this team since 2009. But it isn't 100% clear if bringing in Williams & Anderson will fix that historically bad defense against the run since even before this team hired Dick Jauron and his crappy Tampa two. Which BTW is notoriously bad against the run unless you have that proverbial superstar LB. So yea, I expect the Patriots to try and run more on the Bills this season and take pressure off their QB. The Bills improved their pass rush no question, its the run defense that is worrisome.

If Fitz doesn't improve
thewildrabbit replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can only hope this to be true, but judging from all the Fitz haters should the Bills have a bad year in 2012 I'm thinking the fans ...plus Nix / Gailey will blame it all on the QB. Fitz is already getting thrown under the bus because "HE" doesn't win more games. Too many fans only think in terms of the QB. This team will then draft a QB next year. Should that happen and should this regime not make improvements to the line and receiving corps the world will finally see that it wasn't Fitz. I disagree with the comment about Fitz's arm being below average. Think about how much time it takes for Fitz to take the snap, drop back and deliver the ball to the open receiver. This entire process usually takes around 2 seconds and at times Fitz is not setup properly when he throws. I think this is his main problem.More time in the pocket to throw would help this process. That and the fact that he doesn't always have a pocket to step up into, Wood going on IR really showed this. Also, don't forget that Fitz is a gunslinger and tries to force the ball into places he shouldn't, but then he wouldn't be Fitz if he didn't take chances. -

Comparing the stats between the 4 QB's is kind of pointless considering the difference in those 3 other teams Consider the talent around all 4 QB's, then tell me that any of those 3 could have done better in Buffalo then Fitz did these past two years. Think more in terms of exactly what Fitz has had to deal with vs those 3 other teams loaded with offensive talent. A Bills defense so bad it set a record for worst in franchise history in 2010 and wasn't much better last season.... which means opposing teams usually get the lead and then they can blitz the hell outta the QB. I highly doubt stone legged Flacco could even survive a game behind this current Bill O line, and Ryan / Sanchez aren't known for their scrambling ability either. Understand that the Bills O line in 2010 was so bad that Fitz was on par with Michael Vick in yards per carry, basically running for his life most every other play. The pocket lasted about 2 seconds and he rarely had time to step up in the pocket which is the typical norm for most QB's to complete passes. 2011 it got somewhat better until Wood went on IR, then the crap hit the fan again. Bills team, ONE freaking decent WR that drops a lot of passes in Stevie Johnson. the Bills #2 WR on the roster most of the this year was the back up QB in Brad Smith. exactly how do you compare that to (Anquan Boldin-Torey Smith / TE Ed Dickson) (Santonio Holms / Plaxico Burris / TE Dustin Keller)-(Roddy White / Julio Jones /TE Anthony Gonzalaz) Do I really need to go over the offensive lines, the different offensive schemes, the coaching? The Bills might have looked good in the first 5 games last year, but they were masking the limited offense set up by Chan Gailey with that short quick passing scheme that eventually was figured out and shut down by most good defenses the Bills faced in the second half of last year. I still contend that if you put Fitz on any of those 3 other teams he could have played as good, if not better then those other QB's. I also still contend the current Bills offense needs some major upgrades in order to improve and be completely comparable to the Ravens-Falcons-Jets -

Like I said, its incredibly difficult to find that one franchise guy. You did make the statement below which you led me to think that simply changing the QB will fix the offense. What you fail to realize is that the normal progression for any rookie QB is a 3-4 year development period. That statement is providing the said QB gets drafted by a decent team that will allow him to develop properly. Not every QB drafted is a Dan Marino- Big Ben, and make an instant impact right out of the gate. QB's like Joe Flacco (2008)and Mark Sanchez (2009) went to already good teams when they were drafted. Both those teams had a top defense, a top O line, good cast of WR's & TE's. Both teams had great running attacks and won because of defense and that running game, not because of the QB per se. Now both teams want the QB to throw more and win games for them. More specifically they want their QB's to lead them to a SB and win it. After all, that allotted progression period has been taken up. You could even throw Atlanta QB Matt Ryan into this, drafted in 2008. Question: Do the Bills currently possess the type of offenses that the Ravens-Falcons or Jets have? O line, WR corps, TE? IMHO the Bills currently have a QB as good as Sanchez, Flacco, and Matt Ryan. Fitz has been able to get more out of less then all 3 of those QB's the last two years. The Bills currently have the RB's as good if not better then all 3 of those teams. The Bills need to build a better line, I can't state this emphatically enough. Fitz needs better protection that will enable him to throw those deep patterns and passing plays that require time to develop. The Bills need to get some better WR's, get a TE that can stay healthy and can make big plays. We Bills fans honestly don't know if Fitz is good enough to win a SB as he has had to deal with sub par talent all around him and yet managed play pretty good despite that lack of talent. Like Mr Ralph Wilson said, lets get him some runners, some WR's, a TE that can stay healthy. ( I'm thinking Mr Wilson meant get him some linemen instead of runners, or perhaps that statement was made after Fred Jackson went on IR) P.S. While I'm in agreement with you BB that the Bills need a developmental QB on the roster, and that Tannehill could very well develop into a top franchise QB someday. Forsaking that #10 pick for a guy who might ride the bench a year or two vs an impact player that could immediately help this team win now......hrmmm decisions, decisions! He could very well develop into a top NFL QB...but then perhaps he might not. I think that drafting a QB in the 1st round would only make the fan base go crazy to replace Fitz every time he throws a bad pass. If replaced on this team any rookie QB would then be subjected to the very same progressions that destroyed JP Losman & Trent Edwards. -

No it isn't, finding that one franchise guy can be incredibly difficult. No offense, but I find it difficult to believe that you think by putting a rookie QB behind center on this current Bills team that he going to improve this team all by himself. If you build an offense not dependent on one player then the offense can keep going even if that one player gets injured! Case in point, the 2008 NE Patriots lose Tom Brady for the season in week one, and still go 11-5. Matt Cassel didn't start a game his entire college career, not one freaking game at USC. Wanna see Cassels college stats stats ... http://www.sports-re...t-cassel-1.html Now look what happened to the Colts when they lost Peyton Manning last season. Which team would you rather build? C'mon man, look at the roster! How many top draft picks or top free agents have the Bills spent on the offense in the Gailey Nix 3 years? Scrubs off the waiver wire for the line....scrubs off the waiver wire for the WR position...scrubs off the waiver wire for the TE position. Gailey drafts a RB in 2010, and doesn't even start him or utilize him very much until an injury to the starter where he is forced to utilize him. To me, Fitz is a very special guy as not many QB's in this league could even survive a game in Gaileys pass happy offense... with the crappy WR corps... crappy line.... much less a season. Even the Bills owner stated we need to get him some WR's, some runners, some TE's that can stay healthy and he will be ok. Watch the vid below, count how many seconds it takes Fitz on every play to take the snap, drop back, find the open receiver and throw him the ball. It generally takes 2 seconds or less. There is a reason this FO gave Fitz the money as they are smart enough to see what he can do....even if you can't http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ontS5NnoC0o&feature=related P.S. Andrew Luck played on a Stanford team with a bunch of other good players, he had a solid O line with DeCastro and Martin both 1st round prospects, good WR corps, good RB's. A TE that is graded as a 2nd round pick. Not to mention that HC Jim Harbaugh built a top college football team, good scheme, good coaching. Luck is not going to find that much talent on this years Colts team. He will be going on to a team with a brand new HC in Ravens ex DC Chuck Pagano, and Bruce Arians as OC, who was just fired as the Steelers OC. an entirely new coaching staff. The Colts best O linemen in C Jeff Saturday just signed with the Packers.JMO but I suspect Luck will fall on his face HARD his first year! -

Jeez BB, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Fitz to turn into one of the most accurate QB's I've ever watched in Drew Brees. Fitz is more like Brett Favre, a gunslinger, a try and make a play outta nothing, a tough as nails QB. Its not Fitz who needs to improve, its the rest of the entire offense around him that needs to get better....that's pretty much EVERYONE around him!! Fitz's go to WR is a 7th round pick that became a star only because Stevie Johnson turned into Fitz's go to guy. His best TE option is a cast off TE nobody else wanted, up until last year it was 4 years in the league and 4 different teams. Fitz needs someone other then QB-RB-WR Brad Smith at that #2 WR position. The O line is piecemeal of 2-3 guys that were waiver wire cast off scrubs from other teams, Wood & Bell can't stay healthy and stay on the field. Currently the Bills have one top linemen that is dependable and his play suffers because of the lack of talent around him. Wood could be a pro bowler if he ever can finish a season on the roster and not on IR. IDC what anyone says, this line needs some serious upgrades in order to protect Fitz properly, and allow him to finally have time to throw those 5-7 step drops on a regular basis. The time in the pocket like Drew Brees has, like Tom Brady has, like so many other top QB's have. Even getting the ball out in under 2 seconds didn't stop Fitz from getting hit so often. Then there is the play calling, Gailey called plays last season just about as bad as Turk Schonert and BVP did in years past. Its like all he knew was shotgun passing plays over and over. Even with Fitz hurting with a rib injury, instead of a ground and pound attack it was continually pass pass pass. Gailey did the same crap in KC with Thigpin, that KC offense moved the ball around and gained a bunch of passing yards and yet only won 2 games. Gailey needs to stop forcing Fitz to win games and start utilizing the RB he selected with a first round pick in 2010. A one-two punch of Spiller- Jackson could be an unbeatable combo. We know Fitz is good enough and can do the job, look at the games in 2010 against the Ravens- Bengals- Steelers, 2011 against the Patriots and NY Giants. Its a team game and Fitz needs a better offense around him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGJWBWcFD_4 Watch the video, tell me. How many steps does Fitz take? How long does it take Fitz to take those steps? How many yards does Fitz throw the ball.... let me answer. 7 steps in 3 seconds Fitz threw a 50 yard pass, perfectly thrown right over the outside shoulder where the defender can't get to it. Fitz is good enough. P.S. should the Bills draft talleywhacker you would finally see what I already know, that line is not near good enough. -
Bills trading up for Tannehill?
thewildrabbit replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mayock seems convinced that Tannehill COULD eventually become a franchise QB if he can be developed properly, and NOT start right away. ""The problem is, he's not ready to play right now. He's very raw; he only had 19 starts in college. But I don't think he's ready to play Day 1. I don't think he trusts his reads yet. He's got a long way to go, but I think he's got the tools necessary to be a franchise quarterback."" http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/29/mayock-tannehill-has-potential-to-be-franchise-qb/?module=HP11_hot_topics The Bills are in position with Fitz that they can let Tannehill sit and develop for a year. The problem is the very first time Fitz doesn't play well fans will be screaming for the back up, and Tannehill won't be ready. Particularly should the bills NOT build that O line as any rookie would get killed behind it as it is currently. -
Like Peyton Manning just did to the Seahaks, McNabb said no to the Buffalo Bills before they even entered into talks.... Here is a link that states... ""The most recent hit to the city's pride came when Donovan McNabb declined a trade to the Bills that included a contract extension. Though McNabb would finally have a city full of fans who would be behind him and have a chance to play out his career until he decides the time has come, Donovan declined. "" http://bleacherreport.com/articles/374016-mcnabb-slights-the-city-of-buffalo I'm freaking cheering that Mcstupid didn't want to go to the Buffalo Bills, the guy that didn't know NFL games could end in ties. The guy that doesn't know how to properly run a 2 min drill.

Bills trading up for Tannehill?
thewildrabbit replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can only hope the Dolphins trade up to get this guy, and they succeed! From what Mike Mayock states he watched every pass he made in College football and he is great at throwing outs, and his troubles begin with the inside passes into coverage. Mayock clearly stated That Tannehill is NOT an immediate starter, and will need some time to develop. but because some team with be so desperate for that franchise guy they will draft him, start him and more then likely ruin him. -
In case you guys don't know what Fitzgerald made last year...it was 15 million. Do the Bills even have that much cap space? So Wallace wants MORE money then 15 million a year. Calvin Johnson is getting 18.8 http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/average/wide-receiver/ Even if the Bills really wanted Wallace at 15 mill + they would need to trade back in the draft with possibly Cincy who might still covet Trent Richardson at the #10, "IF" he is still there at 10. Trade that #10 spot for Cincy''s 2 #1's , #17 & #21. With the #17 the Bills could still get a top O linemen and give up that 21st to Pitt for Wallace. Or they could do that trade and draft the O linemen at #17 and then draft WR Stephen Hill at #21. 6' 5" 220 lbs and runs a 4.36, 40.

How good is Mario Williams really?
thewildrabbit replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats great about super Mario is that teams will need to either double team him or chip on him with the TE so he immediately changes the Bills defense all by himself. Then when teamed up with Anderson, Williams, and Marcel Darius on that line is causes the other 3 to be singles up, so someones getting a sack or strong pressure every pass play. Super Mario makes the line better, makes the secondary better because now opposing teams can't hold the ball forever while waiting for receivers to break open. The pass rush will cause QB's to hurry throws and disrupt their rhythm. My only worry is now teams will try and run more against the Bills questionable LBer corps -
WTH are the Dolphins thinking?

A question for all the gm's out there...
thewildrabbit replied to You herd it hear last's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team that started all this hub bub on running the "wildcat" offense in the NFL recently (2008) was the Miami Dolphins who ran it well under Tony Sparano...who is now the OC in NY. Tebow was brought in to primarily run the Wildcat / option IMO. The Jets made the playoffs by running the ball with that great O line, and Sanchez simply was managing the game at QB. Then last year the Jets OC kept calling for more passing then running. But then, the Jets also lost QB/ RB/WR Brad Smith to the Bills and their version of the WC was no more. The Jets changed their OC / play caller this off season, and now wants to move back to running the ball more then passing it. Just to give you an idea of how much the Jets ran the ball and won by doing so. 2009, 393 passing attempts vs 607 rushing attempts 2010, 525 passing attempts vs 534 rushing attempts 2011, 547 passing attempts vs 443 rushing FWIW, the now ex Jets OC Brian Schottheimer seemly wanted to build a high powered passing offense like the Patriots have, and got away from what made them a good playoff team....running the ball! I really was hoping Chan Gailey was going to utilize the wildcat offense in Buffalo more when the Bills acquired Brad Smith, instead they turned him into a WR.....lame! I was also hoping the Bills would notice how the Jets were winning and beating the Patriots without a Tom Brady at QB and then build a team similar to the Jets. Great O line, great run game, and let the QB manage the game. Instead the Bills got another HC/ OC trying to imitate the Patriots offense, pass, pass, pass. -
In regards to Buddy Nix, he must be a really nice guy to work for. He must have looked over the last decade of drafts and concluded that it was just poor choices by whomever had the final say in each draft. He must have thought people like Tom Donhoe and Dick Jauron were the ones responsible for all those bad decisions. As the new Buffalo Bills GM he probably thought he could count on and trust the people under him to do their respective jobs. Then after the 2010 draft he realized that it was more then just bad choices by the people in charge. He then fired Tom Modrak after realizing he was the one who put the 2010 FA Cornell Green folder on his desk. Modrak was also the one he trusted for the 2010 draft choices. Guys, lets be real here. Buddy Nix hired Chan Gailey as his HC and wanted to give him as much input as he could into making the team better. It was all Chan Gailey responsible for that CJ Spiller pick. Gailey was talking "waterbug" long Before the draft That 2010 draft was almost a complete waste for a team that was desperate for talent at key positions, a 4-12 team and NOT ONE player starting from that 2010 draft says it all. Nix scrood the pooch with that 2010 draft in not only player evaluation but in wrong choices all around. 3 years to finally obtain a pass rusher....had to do it in free agency. Nix missed on Jason Pierre Paul in 2010. He also missed on TE's Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. 3 years to build the O line, oh wait !!!...3 years with a back up QB starting, after 3 years no young QB being groomed to eventually take over. Ya know what they say about nice guys....I'd rather have a fiery !@#$ like Polian in charge. I'm not convinced Nix is a great talent evaluator or GM. I'm not convinced that Chan Gailey is a top HC who can take a team to a winning record. OTOH,Nix signed super Mario, Nix has managed to get this owner to spend big money on free agents. Marv levy was able to get Wilson to spend big $ on Dockery and Walker, but Marv picked the wrong HC. This year will be very telling in so many ways.

Here's some draft history to cheer you up...
thewildrabbit replied to biggerdaddynj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The entire debacle started when Millen drafted QB Joey Harrington who was terribad in 02, then not immediately realizing that they wasted a #3 overall on the wrong guy! Then Millen spent the next few years trying to make him into something he was not, a top QB. The Lions hired a rookie Lameoid HC coach in Marty Mornhinweg who then he thought he needed a bright shiny new QB to run the team. Another Idiot HC who tries to make a rookie QB win games behind a bad O line with bad WR's, so the next step is to bring in top WR's for the next 4-5 years all the while neglecting the O line They even tried to hire Steve Mariucci as HC in 03 to "fix" Harrington. Now it could be said that the first regime ruined Harrington, kinda the same way Jauron ruined Losman & Edwards. Just look at one main reason as to why Millen's tenure failed, not one top draft pick for that O line. Not one freaking O linemen taken in the draft under Millen in 02-03-04-05, and then finally in 06 the Lions spent a #5 on a LT.. The Lions had a decent LT, they just lacked good players at other positions I felt so bad for Mariucci when he took the HCing job there, that job ruined his career in coaching because he had no say in anything. By the Time Mariucci was hired as HC the QB was already ruined and he tried to get that fact into Millen's thick skull, who wouldn't listen. Don't forget that after they fired Steve Mariucci in 05 guess who took over from the DC position...Dick Jauron was the interim HC Then they replaced Jauron with Mike Martz, poor Joey was spared getting killed more in Martz's system tho as they traded him to Miami. It wasn't just a stupid GM / president. It was bad coaching, bad scouting, wrong draft choices. Just wrong and stupid decisions in almost the entire org an entire decade...you know, just like another team who's owner didn't care from 2000-2010. I can only think that either Matt Millen was so imposing that the Lions owners were afraid to fire him or he was simply brilliant at making excuses. Either way its difficult to understand how an org can allow itself to be so bad for so long. I suppose when you hire a moron at the top, then he in turn hires inept people. Bill fans should now rejoice in the fact that the Dolphins now have a GM on about the same mental level as Matt Millen, here is hoping they keep him for a decade -
There is no question that the Bills have one of the best D lines in the NFL now, if not the best. They brought in two very good pass rushers this off season , so where there was very little pass rush now the Bills could be stacked with Williams, Anderson, Merrimen, Kelsay! They fixed the pass rush, now what about the run defense. My question is will they be able to stop the run? The Bills have been one of the worst teams in the NFL against the run for a decade. Not since Pat Williams & London Fletcher have the Bills had a run stuffing defense. Two years ago the bills set a set a record for being the worst defense against the run in the history of the 50 year franchise. Last year they were 28th against the run, and I don't know what was worse last season, the run defense or pass rush. 28th against the run, 19th against the pass. Bill Belichick and the Patriots currently have Brady in a spread offense most of the time it seems and the Pats have been setting offensive passing records, but not winning super bowls. Its a passing league now ...right? I gotta wonder if Belichick will ever wake up and figure out that he used a more conventional offense to win super bowls in 2001 & 2003. First with ex - Bill RB Antowain Smith / RB Kevin Faulk and Smith in the I formation. Then in 2004 with clock killin RB Corey Dillon / RB Kevin Faulk, and they even had Larry Centers at fullback. The current patriots don't even have a fullback on the roster. Man I hope the Bills can change this...NE Patriots,AFC EAST Division Champs 2001-2003-2004-2005-2006-2007-2009-2010-2011 Buddy Nix stated the team can never have enough good DB's. I think they need to get way better at the LB position before adding more DB's JMO HEY! a new post and not one mention of you know who

Who would you like to see the Bills get?

Well, the Bills still need to beef up that O line and add some depth to give Fitz more time to throw. The offense still needs a to #2 WR, sorry to say its not Brad smith. The other area that is a worry is the run stopping, why should teams pass when they can run...more LBers -
Is anyone else avoiding certain threads

Fans just want to talk about the Buffalo Bills right now, and almost any conversation will do... The reason is...everyone is so freaking excited for the season to start and its still SIX MONTHS AWAY !!! -

Exactly Does this coaching staff really think that if Fitz goes down with a serious injury that Brad Smith or Tyler Thigpin will get the job done? I know they already have no faith in either of them at QB because they still played Fitz even when injured last year. If they have no faith why even have them on the roster @ 6+ million? -

Its not just about Tebow, its pointing out that the Bills still need a young QB to groom. Its pointing out that Buddy Nix has a plan B in Anderson, and didn't just rely on plan A who is super Mario. Its pointing out that no matter how good a pocket passer John Elway was that he didn't win a super bowl until he had a dominate rushing attack with Terrell Davis. That he could have had that dominate run attack with Tebow running the WC. Its pointing out that the Bills still need to fix the run defense Its pointing out that the Bills still need to fix the O line. But hey, if all you got out of this post was that I talked a bit about Tebow....
