  1. Clearly, you have no choice in the matter. Besides, I don't see anyone behind Fitz to replace him that would be even remotely better. Fitz does have hot and cold streaks just like every other NFL QB, notice how Tom Brady played most of the game against the Cards. Fitz should be fine as long as Gailey doesn't try and turn him into Drew Brees again this year, and force him to throw all game long like the 2nd half of last year. The game against the Chiefs Gailey utilized the run game a whole bunch more then he has in the past, keeping the ball in the best offensive players hands. Running the ball with Spiller worked very well Fitz threw for less then 200 yards and 2 TD, Gailey needs to keep this same game plan going the entire year What most of you fail to realize is, its tough enough to try and re-train a rookie QB who has had 4 years of college and a few years of high school to develop all the wrong habits, most colleges don't even try and change the QB's mechanics if he plays effectively. If you listened to Fitz talk about David lee this is the very first time in his entire career that anyone has tried to help him with his mechanics and technique. So thats a ton of years of bad habits to overcome. Plus in learning this new techniques and mechanics he needs to work on it so much it come automatically and he shouldn't need to think about it at all. This is a process, its going to take some time! Just relax as none of you have no control over any of this. David Lee will ultimately help Fitz improve his passing skills
  2. It was after all... da Chiefs! #4, what a bunch of .... we all know one of your TV's didn't make it thru the day... considering Spiller is now playing so great That O line made me proud to be a Bills fan, Glenn is the real deal. Gailey finally running the ball more and putting it in his best players hands. It was a very good day to be a Bills fan
  3. It takes time for a journeyman QB like Fitz to change his mechanics, stuff like this doesn't happen overnight, not even with rookie QB. Example, Tim Tebow! Give the man this season and see how Fitz is playing by the end. Patience Padawan's....
  4. My son called to tell he started the Bills defense again this week, he has 28 points from the Bills D
  5. nice TD on 3rd and 12. GO Stevie!
  6. What a difference a dedicated running game can make!
  7. Fitz REGAINING his confidence TD pass to Chandler
  8. oh man, little screen to Spiller = 27 yards
  9. awesome, Mario recovers
  10. wooo hooo MD a sack
  11. I couldn't be happier, Gailey finding various ways to run the ball
  12. wow, to those who said the Bills couldn't run the ball... umm, aaah, ummm Spiller
  13. frikkin sweet, finally running the ball
  14. Sure, it was only one game, it looked like an NFL team playing a UFL team tho. I gotta wonder if the best D line in the NFL can get a sack today
  15. Couldn't agree more Most fans still believe that Nix / Gailey inherited a bad team, they didn't! Gailey screwed himself with cronyism by hiring his buds from Georgia Tech, college assistants promoted to NFL assistants. The experienced NFL assistant he did hire was a complete moron in DC George Edwards. That one hire really made a bad defense much much worse, so bad in fact they set a franchise record for worst against the run in the 50+ year history of the team Some questionable moves by Nix, and some horrific moves by Gailey is the reason for 10-23
  16. Lots of good points! I think that the head coach / OC is putting way to much undue pressure on the QB by forcing him to win the games all on his own. The defense sucks and can't stop anybody, allowing the team to try and dig itself out of a deep hole! Ok lets ask the QB to save the team by constantly throwing into nickel and dime coverages. While the opposing defense knows the Bills are gonna throw so they pin their ears back and go all out after the QB, blitz after blitz after Blitz. There were many games last season that both Jackson and Spiller was doing very well in the run game and Gailey would simply stop running the ball to constantly throw, thus putting the QB in untenable situations. Fitz is a "gunslinger" and will always try and make something happen.
  17. Man your funny, its all in your head too. My argument didn't crumble in any aspect, you are simply glossing over points with poop. Just like you just did in responding to my point about the Falcons. My question throughly going over your head. The question was poised, "why do you suppose they did that" in terms of trading away 5 draft picks to secure a WR! I stated nothing about the Falcons relating to the Bills or the Falcons not winning in the playoffs. You cannot even answer one simple question poised to you without going off the deep end. You want to end the argument, so be it, but understand you made yourself look like a fool.
  18. What escapes you guys is Nix was 100% right, they weren't that far away! After all, a bum like Jauron got them to 7-9. So many posters here were literally in disbelief and shock that Chan Gailey couldn't do better then what jauron had done. Gaileys faults are almost the same as Jauron's in his failure to hire the right assistant coaches. If you recall he hired a bunch of his college coaching buddies to become NFL assistant coaches on the Bills staff, these men are from his days as HC of Georgia Tech. But Gaileys biggest moronic move was his hiring an experienced NFL DC, but one who was a complete boob in George Edwards. Plus the switch from 4-3 to a 3-4 without the proper personnel. Now DC's like Mike Nolan, Dom Capers, Wade Phillips might have been able to pull that off, Edwards couldn't. In fact his defense was so bad against the run he set a franchise record for worst defense in the 50+ year history of the franchise. The team really wasn't that far away, all they needed was a proper RT instead of Cornell Green, and making Fitz the starter to begin with. Then they should have drafted a RT in the draft instead of Spiller. In the last 3 years found a top QB to draft or one in free agency to compete against Fitz to push him or let him sit when he is injured. It is my belief that if the owner had let Buddy Nix hire Marty Schottenheimer instead of Gailey the team would have gotten better instead of worse as Marty knew what coaches to hire. Last year or this year the Bills would certainly be playoff bound
  19. Say what?LT Cordy Glenn 6'6'' 345 #2 pick LG Andy Levite 6'2'' 305 #2pick C Eric Wood 6'4'' 310 #1 pick RG Kraig Urbik 6'5'' 324 RT Eric Pears 6'8'' 316 Man 0 man that is one massive O line. If this line can't be a top run blocking line in the league its because of lack of talent on the coaching staff
  20. First of all Fitz is not as bad as you make him out to be, his arm in particular. He doesn't have the arm strength of Jay Cutler, but then a lot of QB's don't have that. If he were as bad as you make him out to be he wouldn't be a starting NFL QB. The Bills FO is notoriously frugal would have never paid him what they paid him if he couldn't make every NFL throw, PERIOD! Next, the current Bills could easily run the ball more in and out of the spread formation, Gailey just refuses to do it! I don't see a reason why the Bills couldn't hand off more often in shotgun, they have done it before. Heck even Jim Kelly used to do that. The problem is that even when the running game is doing very well in a game, Gailey inexplicably stops using it to throw more. Just go back and look at the late 80's / early 1990 Buffalo Bills with Jim Kelly. Most of those years the Bills ran the ball with Thurman Thomas more then they passed the ball. This is a FACT! Oh, but it was the K-gun offense, the No huddle offense. But it was the Bills ( under Ted Marchibroda) utilizing the old Redskin "counter trey" offensive running scheme running the ball to setup the pass. The latest trend is zone blocking scheme. The current talent on the Bills O line is finally approaching the talent level of a top NFL team. #2 pick Glenn at LT looks like the real deal and they now may have some depth at tackle with Hairston. There are still questions at RT and RG but overall they might improve as the season goes on, who knows. What the Bills are still lacking is the top #2 & #3 good WR. when Gailey starts running his 4-5 WR sets. The early Jim Kelly SB Bills had Andre Reed- James Lofton- Don Beebe, and they were a dominate running team! The current Bills have had nobody to stretch the field since trading away Lee Evans. Lee was always a deep threat that teams had to respect and usually rolled their coverages towards him. Leaving Stevie Johnson single covered underneath and almost always open. With Evans gone the defenses can indeed squat on the receivers at the line and bump them out of position, this causes Fitz to hold onto the ball longer then he should and then bad things happen. The Bills KNEW they needed a better option at WR in the off season, its the reason they drafted TJ Graham with the #3 pick and tried to bring in Saints WR Robert Meachem (who signed with SD) It was rumored that the Bills were also interested in SD WR Vincent Jackson who signed for an 11.5 per year with TB. They just didn't get it done, and its hurting the offense. Perhaps TJ Graham is the answer, but he can't be if he is on the inactive roster. We will see this week.
  21. Chan has had 3 years to draft a QB early, or pick up something better in free agency....he is married to Fitz! The real problem is, look whats actually happening on the field, Gailey has a journeyman QB who was a backup his entire career out on the field throwing the ball around like he is Tom Brady. Constant 4-5 WR sets with only one decent WR. Fitz is not an elite QB, he is not Tom Brady and he doesn't have the receiver corps or the line Brady has. Chan not only has the wrong guy, he still thinks he has the right guy and keeps calling passing plays like he has Tom Brady behind center.
  22. I would tend to think the reason all 3 took the Chiefs has an easy explanation, they are all going by how the Bills played their last game. It wasn't as close as the score or stats say it was. The Bills were dominated by the Jets in almost ever facet of the game. The Bills defense never showed up at all, and the offense would have done nothing if not for Spiller. Fitz added some stats and TD's in garbage time in the 4th QTR. Now the Bills lost their slot, possession WR who made the first downs, and their starting RB.
  23. I highly doubt Fewell could have done worse, especially with the defense
  24. I always hear about how the team was devoid of talent when Nix got here, and yet Nix stated the team was "not that far away" ! Jauron managed to get three back to back 7-9 years out of almost the exact same players handed to Nix / Gailey I find it oddly amusing, in a sad as hell kind of way, to think an absolute offensive moron in Dick Jauon with a complete boob for an OC in Turk Schonert managed to win more games with a QB that everyone now considers one of the worst Bills QB's ever in Trent Edwards. Nix / Gailey took over and made the team worse by going 4-12, same QB's, same players, worse team. New coaches, new scheme. On another note, Jim Harbaugh takes over a bad SF 6-10 team, and turns them into a 13-3 team in a year with a strike shortened off season. The start of the 2010 season the players looked inept and out of sync, sound familiar?
