  1. Want more depressing thoughts? According to the GM Buddy Nix this FO & coaching staff will be here no matter what next year and possibly longer. Now, knowing how badly this GM & HC screwed up so badly the last 3 drafts I can't even look forward to the draft.next year What really sucks tho is the ONLY thing that Bills fans can really look forward to is when the ownership changes! Even then the new owner might hire a top President / GM / HC... maybe.... and then the team might possibly move away to another city LA, or country, London, Canada Bad time to be a Bills fans, if the team moves away will the NFL even give Buffalo (the smallest market) a new franchise like they did with Cleveland?
  2. 9) Buddy Nix already stated Gailey is here until next year, and probably after that. This owner is fine with how the team is doing as long as devoted Bills fans keep his stadium filled. Hey, 8 more games to go, and they could go 11-5 right? 12) I feel so badly for Bills fans, so passionate for their beloved team and yet being hoodwinked by an owner who doesn't care if his team wins games! Fans so afraid to stop buying tickets for fear that their beloved team will move away. Well guess what! This owner doesn't even care who buys the team after he passes, and In all probability the team will be bought, and moved !! So whats all this devotion worth then? Ralph Wilson is fully aware that if he hired Bill Polian and Wade Phillips as HC they could have this team in the playoffs next year. First off, that would cut into his personal profits and second of all, understand Bill, HE DOESN'T CARE IF THE TEAM WINS as long as he is making money! That recent news article stated that Wilson is on the phone every day to Buddy Nix, Dave Wannstadt should have been fired after the 49er game for his ineptitude. Its clear that no coaching changes will be made no matter how poorly the team plays. .
  3. As long as the fans keep buying tickets to watch an inferior team Ole Ralphie will keep the same staff, why should he change anything? After all he is making money on this half azzed team
  4. If and when fans stop buying tickets to see his inferior product on the field! The FO marketing machine will draft a QB this next draft and all the fans will return thinking a SB is right around the corner. History has shown that the ONLY time this Bills owner stood up and hired a top coach was when he was forced to by the fans. Bills fans need to grow a pair and stop worrying the team is going to leave, it probably will once this owner dies and the team is sold ....so WTH good is it to support a man who won't commit to keeping the team in Buffalo. .
  5. Getter done Nix....err Wilson
  6. Now you get what I've been here complaining about for the last 3 years. It appears Nix / Gailey have a 5 year plan and they are damned determined to see it thru, their way! Remember Marv Levy in his first few weeks as Bills HC he stated "we want to get as good as we can, as quickly as we can" This team under Nix / Gailey seem to be taking the exact opposite approach. Like Nix and the draft, he won't take charge as he just waits and sees how things unfold. Bill Polian OTOH went out and got the players he needed right away, he didn't wait 3 years to draft a LT, or 4 years to draft a rookie QB that will take 4 years to develop This franchise continues to be the joke of the league, and jauron was a better HC
  7. Whats been different this year then the last two? I'll tell you what, fans finally losing patience with the bozo's running this team.
  8. Chandler smart enough to get out of bounds
  9. c considering this Texan team beat the Ravens 43-13, I'd say the Bills are playing well ....considering their limitations
  10. The Bills are actually playing better then I thought they would
  11. Nothing like a Fitz clone to replace Fitz Same height and arm type, both very smart guys. His understanding of the USC offense is greatly under-appreciated. While he's not quite Andrew Luck, when breaking down Barkley it is clear he does so many of the "little" things well, like rolling either to his left or right and consistently firing accurate passes on the move or freezing the safeties by looking one direction and passing the other.. Some will knock his size, "average" arm strength or the fact that he has never faced SEC competition. While Barkley is a touch shorter than scouts would prefer, I've had numerous sources who saw him in person at the Manning Passing Academy tell me he showed greater zip than expected, though I'd like to see him improve his accuracy on the deep ball. http://www.cbssports...ayers/1664140 Scout.com has him ranked as the 20th best player There is also a bunch of draft sites that have Barkley going in the top 3, so the Bills drafting around #10 or so should have a better shot at Tyler Wilson....or will they consider him "not" an elite QB and draft a WR- RB-CB.. .
  12. the wannybies... wankers wannabies.... wannys wannabies
  13. Wannstedt is Gaileys good old buddy nicknamed Booger! News flash, the Bills fielded the worst run defenses in the 50 year history of the franchise under George Edwards, and Gailey kept him all season. The bye week was the time to do it! So the players could get accustomed to the new man in charge and study the changes he would make. Sorry but I don't see any coaching changes this season...at least I'm hoping there are none at this point. If Gailey keeps the status quo I would expect him, Nix and wannabe to be canned after this season.
  14. Cooter needs to fire booger!
  15. ezpass Or The nightmare continues Insanity is defined by doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results = dave wannstooge
  16. It is clear Buddy Nix is enamored with Gailey and his ability to get a back up QB to play well enough to put up 34 points on the 30th defense in the NFL....I guess he missed the last minute of the game tho. I guess winning that game wasn't that important, 9 games to go right? By Gailey sticking with wannstooge this long, he deserves to be fired! With Nix sticking with Gailey, he deserves to be fired. Gailey does have a good offensive mind, he just needs someone over him to adjust some of his views. Probably why he would make a better OC then HC. Nice to get an endorsement from the boss after going 13-26 Unless this bye week magically transforms this team into a winner for the next 9 games ....I can only only hope that the owner wakes up from his coma and pulls the trigger.on this losing regime.
  17. No idea, a change should have been made during the bye. Now we fans will need to endure more games with Mr no blitz as DC. Perhaps they want to break more records for being the worst ever defense. Almost as unbelievable as it appears, Nix is married to Gailey... Gailey is married to Fitz ...Gailey also appears to be joined at the waist to Wannstedt Now, the problem I have with Gailey & Fitz is that final series against the Titans (Tenn 30th in defense) where they had a 1:03 on the clock and 60 yards to go and the team went right into a complete inept state. The QB didn't know what to do, the OC / HC didn't know what to do and this is a huge reason why this regime is such a loser. Chan Gailey might be very good at setting up an offense to score a bunch of points during a game, but WTF good is it if the team can't close it with a win. Fitz clearly doesn't know how to properly run a 2min drill, and as it appeared in the Titans game neither do his teammates. Nor does the play caller who called nothing but 4 straight passes to underneath players not even near the sideline. Its almost like they wanted to lose. Man o man, another full year of this BS losing. Looking forward to 2014 for some change unless of course something else happens, I'll never wish for that. Not ever! Cheers
  18. Familiarity breeds contempt i would guess in this case. I look at Cowher's win record with amazement considering he never had a Jim Kelly like Marv Levy did, or a Dan Marino,Troy Aikman, John Elway and still won so many games. In my view the man was encumbered by the bums he had at QB. Neil O' Donnell, Kordell Stewart, Mike Tomzak, Tommy Maddox...talk about some serious scrubs. Some of the best OC's in the NFL couldn't help those guys. I can only imagine Cowher with a top QB winning so many more games. He might have had top talent on defense and offense other then at QB, but we all know when the game is on the line its the QB who usually steps up and wins it, just look at Big Ben. Cowher's winning % mostly without Big Ben .623. Tomlin with Big Ben .678 Look at the coaching tree under Cowher, Dom Capers, Ron Erhardt, Chan Gailey, Kevin Gilbride, Jim Haslett, Dick LeBeau, Marvin Lewis, Mike Mularkey, Ken Wisenhunt. I think we will need to agree to disagree on this one. This discussion is more then likely moot anyway, no way would Wilson hire Cowher and give him the money or autonomy he desires
  19. The ONLY thing beyond ridiculous is the way you keep changing what I'm saying. The mere fact that other teams could invest in rookies or free agents tells me that they want options other then their starting QB. Bottom line is this regime is married to Ryan Fitzpatrick without even a decent back up or rookie QB on the roster to challenge him for the starting position. This has been my main point. Its also is a big reason why this regime is 13-26, and will continue to lose until they find a viable solution other then Fitz.
  20. I think that by signing super Mario to a 100 million dollar deal showed the rest of the NFL that the Bills really do have a desire to win, even tho this entire franchise lacks the knowledge to actually do it. Perhaps it might just take another boatload of dough to get the right guy. I'd still have Bill Cowher in my sights If I had any say. Super Mario 100 mil in 6 years and 50 mil of that guaranteed Cowher would have been cheaper. The Bills still lack a top QB which might just prohibit BC from having any interest in Buffalo, unless they have a very good chance to draft one next year. Ditka is a loon, traded his entire draft for a single player while he was with the Saints
  21. Man, I get that you hate the guy, but get over it tho because his record speaks for itself 149-90-1. Bill Cowher won a lot of games with and without Dick Lebeau. Cowher was an ex NFL LBer, and was defensive minded to start with. Realize before you canonize Dick LeBeau that he was the Pittsburgh DB's coach from 92-94 then spent TWO years as DC in 95-96 before leaving Pitt to Cincy to take the job as DC there. LeBeau wasn't even with the Steelers from 1997-2003 as he was the Bengals DC 97- 2000, then 2000-2002 Bengals HC, assistant HC in Buffalo in 2003. Lebeau was the DC at Pitt again in 2004. Cowher retired in 2006 so Lebeau as DC was only with Cowher for 5 out of his 15 seasons. In Bill Cowher’s 15 seasons, the Steelers won eight division titles, got ten postseason playoff berths, played in 21 playoff games, went to six AFC Championship games and made two Super Bowl appearances. He is one of only six coaches in NFL history to claim at least seven division titles. The sole reason in my mind why Cowher didn't win more SB's is because he had inferior QB's until Big Ben, that his fault? The GM's fault? The owners fault as they are very hands on, especially in the draft. I think Cowher did wonders considering the bums he had at QB for so many years. Also realize Bill Cowher left the sidelines because he wanted to spend more time with his family as being an NFL head coach demands so much time. Good thing he retired because his wife passed in 2010 so he was able to spend that extra time with his wife and with his children who were in college. If I'm not mistaken all of Cowher's children are now done with college and he could now entertain thoughts about becoming a head coach again. Like Bill Polian for NFL GM / President, the NFL would be better off with Bill Cowher as a head coach again. Bill Cowher is a brilliant head coach in my view.
  22. If I'm looking for a new young head coach I'd certainly consider Broncos OC Mike McCoy. I look at what he was able to do with such a limited QB in Tim Tebow! They made the playoffs with Tebow and actually beat the Steelers in a playoff game. McCoy knew how best to utilize him. Now he has the legend Peyton Manning at QB and changed up the offense to suit him. Denver is 4-3. with Manning playing like his old self. http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_19320216 If you want defensive side to fix the current defense, considering all the draft picks and money sent that way. Vic Fangio has been the 49ers DC the past two years, and they have been about the best defense in the NFL during that time http://www.sacbee.com/2012/09/01/4779182/different-approach-gets-bang-up.html
  23. If I'm not mistaken the Bills did contact him and he declined an interview ...as did so many before Gailey was hired. Trestman was doing his best Marv Levy intimation up in Canada winning Gray Cups. Gailey was like 15th on the list. The one and ONLY guy I know who really wanted the job badly Ralph Wilson didn't feel "comfortable with" which was Marty Schottenhimer!! Buddy Nix was entertaining the thought of hiring him until RW said no as they were friends from both their days with the San Diego Chargers. The old stodge should have let Nix hire Marty, then hire Gailey as OC. Holy cow, I can imagine the success the Bills would have had the last 3 years with a power running game, and stout defense. Schotty reminds me of Chuck Knox in that he knows how to run an entire team in every aspect. He knows talent, player personnel, he knows what assistants to hire. He knows how to build a team properly. Most of all he knows defense because he played LBer for the Bills as he was drafted by them in 1965, and came up thru the ranks as a LBer coach, DC. I wonder if Wilson still doesn't feel "comforable" with Marty S. His W/L record 203-127-1. Yeah his playoff record sucks at 6-13. But who really shivs a git at this point. It would be nice just to see the Bills field a competent, competitive team and just have a chance to sniff the playoffs or a winning season!. A couple of coaches who didn't want to become a candidate for the job made no bones about the obstacles: They worry about the hire of a 70-year-old GM everyone thought was on the back nine of his career, Buddy Nix. They worry about owner Ralph Wilson's meddling. They worry about where the franchise might be in two years. They worry about luring free-agents to Buffalo. In short, it's a tough sell to attractive candidates. If Jim Harbaugh's going to have one good shot at an NFL job, why would he leave a place he loves, Stanford, for such an iffy venture in western New York? Ditto Brian Schottenheimer, Leslie Frazier and certainly Bill Cowher. http://sportsillustr...lbag/index.html
