  1. Because he wanted the Bills head coaching ( Badly) job back in 2010 and RW didn't feel "comfortable" hiring him. He was with Buddy Nix in San Diego, and Nix wanted to hire Marty first thing, Wilson said no. http://espn.go.com/b...anted-bills-gig People that don't want a man who has proven he has the ability to turn a bad team into a winning are just asking for more years of 3 and out. What new young HC is guaranteed to make enough impact to win? The highways and byways of the NFL are littered with the corpses of wannabies. Gailey is a wannabie, so is Jon Gruden! Wait until the Eagles see what their defense looks like with Gruden as HC. He is no better then Gailey because without DC Monte Kiffin running that TB defense his team went from mediocre to horrid! Mike Mularkey, Tony Sparano, Raheem Morris, Greg Williams, Josh McDaniel's, Eric Mangini, Romeo Crennel, Butch Davis, Chris Palmer, Brad Childress, Mike Tice, Dom Capers, Tod Haley, Dennis Green, Dave McGinnis, Jim Mora jr, Ron Rivera, Jim Schwartz, Rod Marinelli, Norv Turner etc etc etc and beyond ... Jeez, I'm so sick of watching the Bills suck year after year. I want to see the Bills become a playoff team again. They find the right QB and even Schotty can win in the playoffs
  2. What the Chiefs source is speculating is that the KC owner wants Schotty as GM or in some other unknown capacity to advise the team. My speculation would be to hire him as HC or GM, either works for me as the man is a god at getting a losing scrub team, and turning them into a winner. 203-127-1= 606 % Says it all. The man knows player talent, he knows what assistants to hire, he is a supreme motivator, and could get this years team to overachieve instead of falling on their faces game after game. This only works if Ralph Wilson feels "comfortable" hiring Marty tho Perhaps some of you are happy with the current coach 13-27 . 325 % in Buffalo... I think Gailey has proved he is the opposite of Marty S in that he took over a 7-9 team and made it worse to 4-12 / 6-10 and it might just get worse this year. Gailey in 3 years still hasn't even equaled Jauron's 7-9 mark.
  3. Old saying, where there is smoke there is fire! http://www.kctv5.com/story/20058706/chiefs-owner-clark-hunt-reportedly-meeting-with-marty-schottenheimer http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/10/chiefs-deny-meeting-between-hunt-and-schottenheimer/ If RW is smart he will fire the current staff of bozo's asap, and hire Marty Schottenheimer before the Chiefs hire him at the end of the season. If its another blowout loss for the Bills tomorrow against the Patriots, they get my permission to make changes now!
  4. I can tell you that it was noted in this forum that Wilson speaks with Buddy Nix on the phone every day, that in itself takes great awareness. Now Wilson just recently spoke with Gailey on the phone letting him know he wasn't happy with the current situation. So, my take is Ralph Wilson is cognizant enough to understand that Buddy Nix just gave his old friend Chan an endorsement for the length of his contract (2 more years thru 2014) And now Ralph Wilson being the cantankerous curmudgeon that he is just squashed that endorsement by directly letting Gailey know he isn't happy!! Way to go Ralph !! If the losing persists I can only go forward thinking that at some point this season both the good ole boy connection will be canned (Cooter & Boss Hogg) I'm thinking 3-8 should do it. Rookie QB Andrew Luck lighting up the Bills secondary for 3 TD's in a 31 -10 Bills loss should send them both on their way. Hopefully booger, (Wannstoge) gets sent to that place already occupied by Jimmy Hoffa, that er .
  5. I'll be watching football, just not the Bills full time. I switch from NFL mix to the game. If they are winning or its close I'll stay turned, if not I'll watch a different game. Atlanta at NO should be a good game. Then the 4 o'clock Jets at Seattle should be a fun match up, gotta love the big mouth getting whipped. Then the 8pm game should be a good one. Houston at Chicago
  6. Its like Gailey can't seem to control himself and his play calling at all from the National anthem until the fat lady sings. All he wants to do is call pass plays all game long. I would think that this is his form of insecurity complex due to all the losing he did while the OC at KC (2-14) and now in Buffalo (13-27). My take is he simply doesn't know how to build a winning program. The game against the Titans showed this at the end of the game. The Titans who have one of the worst defenses in the league, and with 1:03,a 60 yards to go for a field goal to win, and his team didn't know what to do! He doesn't have his QB, players, team ready for the 2 min drill. The receivers weren't past the first down marker or near enough to the sidelines to get out of bounds. I don't think I've ever seen a lamer attempt to win a game in under 2 min.
  7. I just read an article that stated Chan Gailey was given a 5 year contract. So of course both Nix and Gailey have their 5 year (taking their good ole time) plan working. I think that both men are giving it their all, its just that you can't ask a janitor to perform brain surgery. Both men are in way over their heads at their respective jobs. My take is that Ralph Wilson has figured out that Bills fans are so afraid of losing the team in a move that they are willing to pay no matter how crappy the team is, and it is crappy. So he also figures that Chan Gailey (for better or for worse) is his last head coach. Its a sad time for Bills fans that need to wait another 2 years for a possible change at head coach / GM or hope for something they don't really want to hope for in the demise of the current owner
  8. Interesting article from Chris Wesseling from Rotoworld, about CJ Spiller http://www.rotoworld...eek-10-rankings "Chan Gailey may have his faults, but he’s done a masterful job of drawing up a creative array of draws, reverses, fake reverses and Wildcat looks to get the ball in Spiller’s hands in space. He even caught a couple of passes after lining up out wide at Houston in Week 9. " Which is why we love him.... Despite the timeshare with F-Jax and three games sabotaged by a painful shoulder injury, Spiller still ranks in the top-5 in fantasy points per game. Gailey and Jackson are only two men in the league capable of shutting him down. Is that about to change? IDC which RB gets the ball, as long as Fitz isn't attempting down field passes all game long. He needs to wait until the RB's are too tired to carry the ball anymore before he is allowed to throw at all. Recently Chan Gailey stated what most fans here have been lamenting for the last 3 years, that he is going to get his RB's 40 touches a game. Then against the Texans he decided for whatever reason to forgo that thought and had Fitz attempt 38 passes while only giving his two star RB's 22 touches. Which is why we hate him... that and his choice of DC's! P.S. Buddy Nix stated on two separate occasions that he intends to draft a rookie QB in next years draft! After hearing that should we be rooting for the Bills to finish the season 3-13 so they have a shot at a real franchise QB?
  9. More like it disproves it. Yea, there were other decades besides 2000-2012 that this owner didn't shiv a git if his team won or not. The entire decade of the 70's the Bills NEVER beat Don Schula's Dolphins, not once. You know that 72 undefeated season for Miami, the Bills came closest to beating them by a missed field goal. Probably the reason OJ had so much pent up hostility, the Bills never made the playoffs his entire career in Buffalo despite them having the best RB in the NFL. 6x pro bowler, 4x NFL rushing champ. When Chuck Knox first came to Buffalo the Bills couldn't even hold a pre season game because nobody would buy tickets. Anyway, Chuck Knox was a miracle working for the Bills and Ralph Wilson let him walk once his team was winning and his stadium was filled again. If Bills fans EVER want a winning team again in Buffalo they need to stop wasting their money on an inferior product. History has shown that the ONLY time this owner coughed up the dough for a top head coach was when fans stopped buying season tickets. As long as games keep selling out... so will this owner,as profit is his primary goal, and always has been.
  10. Probably the only team in the NFL with no #1 or #2 draft pick used on a WR-QB-TE. So many draft picks used on the defensive side tho, I'm so glad that defense is 31st and working hard on becoming the worst.
  11. The Bills are 2-19 against Tom Brady I only wonder how many losses it will take before changes are made, I'm thinking the Colts game. 3-8
  12. Homerism!... what do you not get about 13-27 .325 % in 3 years, holy crap Gailey sucks! Who cares that Gailey can get Fitz to throw the ball up against (1-7) Kansas City, (2-7) Cleveland Browns (4-5) Arizona Cardinals The reason the Bills beat a team with a better record was because that team has the worst O line in the NFL, and because of that the Bills managed to knock out their starting QB. Basically they got really lucky! Kinda like the blind squirrel finding an acorn now and again lucky. BTW, looking good in a loss counts for NOTHING! If the Bills finish the season 5-11 and look good in some of those 11 losses who is gonna care then? The Bills 3-5 (points for 180) (points against 248) The Bills maybe beat the Jags 1-7 and the Rams 3-5.
  13. The dominate running teams, Ravens, Texans, 49ers...yea all losers The idea is for a head coach to utilize the strengths on his team, not his weakness. Gailey has been hellbent on making Fitz into something he is not, nor will ever be. An elte QB. Sure its a passing league, and every team in it is trying like crazy to pass all game. The thing is, the teams that are successful at it have Tom Brady. Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning. While all the rest are wannabes Gailey loves to emulate the Patriots offense, only the Bills have sub par receiving corps, O line, QB and OC calling the plays. Its completely moronic to run an empty backfield 5 WR set with ONE good WR, Yet this head coach does it! Recently Gailey was quoted as saying he KNOWS he needs to get his two star RB's 40 touches a game, and yet he still calls nothing but shotgun pass plays with a backup QB. He did that against the Texans. Gailey is a LOSER!
  14. I agree wholeheartedly After the 2010 season the Colts knew that they needed a QB to replace Manning, instead of going into that draft or free agency looking for a QB to replace Manning they purposely waited a few weeks before training camp opened to bring in old warhorse QB Kerry Collins. But the biggest thing is their OC retired just before that so a new QB is coming in with no Manning or OC to teach him the offense. Bill Polian calculated that because his team was predicated on building a lead quickly and then letting his smaller, quicker defensive players pin their ears back going after the opposing QB, that the team would flounder badly without a top QB, and he was right. Polian knew that Andrew Luck was a once on a decade player and set his team up to obtain him. The owner of the Colts had to make someone pay for 2-14 season and the Polians both paid. Bills son, Chris Polian got another job right away with the Falcons as a scouting director. Not to shabby. Bill Polian went to work for ESPN and is now seeking another stint in the NFL.
  15. Cowher could be motivated if the price is right. Yeah, to the Polian idea also!
  16. At what exactly? Getting a backup QB to throw a bunch of bad passes and put up some mediocre passing numbers while losing game after game? The man has 2 of the very best RB's in the league and he knows it, admits that they both should see 20 touches and then has his back up QB throw it all over while almost ignoring those superstar RB's. Gailey is the head coach and responsible for the ENTIRE team!! LOOK at how bad the defense has been the last 3 years. Not just bad, but historically, setting NFL records for being bad. The defense is 31st and special teams is 30th.
  17. Before the Bills hire a new head coach they will need a new GM and possibly finally a new president if Wilson is sincere about winning. So if Ralph Wilson is willing to spend 100 million on a DE then perhaps he is willing to spend to bring back Bill Polian. Or perhaps even hire Wade Phillips back as HC. Personally, I'd like to see the man get hired that Buddy Nix initially wanted to hire but that Wilson said he didn't feel comfortable with, Marty S.
  18. Jauron was hired in 2006 after Mularkey went 5-11 in 2005. Then Jauron went 7-9 in 06, 7-9 in 07, 7-9 in 08, 6-10 in 09 with Fewell (3-6) Jauron (3-4) Fewell Jauron took over and the team got better to a mediocre 7-9 for 3 years in a row with AVP & Turk Schonert as OC's. Trent Edwards, JP Losman at QB. Gailey came in and went 4-12, the team got worse. To 6-10 last year, and still hasn't matched Jauron's 7-9. As moronic as Jauron was about the offense, Chan Gailey is sub moronic about the defense! Gailey manages to get the offense to a mediocre level and the defense to an historically horrid level. Jauron Hands down was better. His problem is he had fans at 7-9 for 3 years and had everyone thinking they would turn the corner at any moment. When they didn't turn the corner everyone hated him for it. Jauron 24-33, 421% Gailey 13-26 .342%
  19. Who is going to find those better players? Look at the last 3 drafts! When Chuck Knox got here the team was way worse then 7-9. They were 3-11 and had some real bums on the roster. Knox figured out who was good, who was bad, and turned around the team in 2 years. 5-11, 7-9 to 11-5 and playoffs. When Bill Polian took over he fired Hank Bullough after 9 games in 86, 4-12, hired Marv Levy and they went 7-8 in 87, 12-4 in 88. The point here is when you have a bad team with bad players it goes pretty quickly to get rid of the bums, find the quality players to fit in. Levy did it with Jim Ringo as OC, Walt Corey as DC. So the OC didn't change, just the HC and some players. Good coaches make a positive impact right away. Gailey took over and the team went from 6-10 to 4-12. All Gailey / Nix changed was like 8 players on the roster in 2010 and one was a starting LB. So as bad as Jauron was, Gailey proved his first year he was a worse coach. Considering Buddy Nix has spent most of the draft picks on defense the last 3 years and they are now the worst defense in the league! What does that tell you? Ralph Wilson should be mad, he should be very very mad at Nix and his 100 million dollar DE who is nicknamed Mr Invisible as a Buffalo Bill. Along with the 2nd worst defense in the NFL, and 3rd worst special teams in the NFL
  20. Polian and a top HC, then wait for the combine. All this speculating is kinda lame until the bozo's running this team are fired. If Nix / Gailey are retained I won't even be able to look forward to the draft or next season. If they do draft a rookie QB then expect this staff to ruin him.
  21. As bad as the Bills currently are.... they are certainly better then the 1-7 Jags with Gabbert at QB, don't forget MJD is gone =W Don't forget the Texans pounded the Ravens 42-13, and the Bills didn't play to badly against the Texans at Houston. The Biggest problem is Gailey continues to think he has an elite QB behind center and forgets to use his super star RB's...going on 3 years and running! I'm giving the bills the Rams win at home simply because the Rams have one of the worst offenses, but hey with this team you never know. Still penciling in a W. 5-11 seems about right. Now that the owner has shown he is aware of the current situation I hope he looks into it further to see that his beloved GM Buddy Nix has made worse choices them GM Marv Levy & Jauron...difficult to believe, but true! Both Nix & Gailey need to be shown the door so I can at least hope for a better next season. .
  22. Boss Hogg, Cooter and Booger Actually this GM / HC work together well and give some semblance they know what they are doing. The truth is both are in way over their perspective heads. Gailey would have made an excellent choice as OC under Bill Cowher who would direct him to build a strong running game. Even with Fitz at QB the Bills would be so much better if the RB's actually got 40 touches a game instead of the OC / HC wishfully thinking about it. Buddy Nix is an excellent head scout, but the bottom line is that someone more knowledgeable should be making the draft choices. Lets not forget that Buddy Nix in one of his first pressers announced he wasn't the smartest guy in the room, and that was a room filled with media types. This franchise needs a brain at the top. Someone Like Bill Cowher / Marty S who knows talent, especially defensive talent. Now Booger OTOH shouldn't even have a job in the NFL in any capacity as he has proven himself worthless at assisting George Edwards, and is even more worthless as the the Bills DC. How this man is still employed by the Buffalo Bills is beyond me. Currently 3-5 @ Patriots L Home-Dolphins L @ Colts L Home Jags W Home Rams W Home Seahawks L @ Dolphins L Home Jets L They should finish 5-11, the Bills might just have the opportunity to draft in the top 5. Which might get them Matt Barkley, Geno Smith or Tyler Wilson. If Nix and CO are still in charge you can expect a WR-RB-CB to be the first pick
  23. Yea I'm just frustrated by the poor play, the stupid calls, and the overall losing mentality of this years team. If this team continues to lose games neither gailey or nix should be retained after this year IMO, yet both probably will be. That means I can't even look forward to the draft or next season, even if they draft a rookie QB this staff will ruin him. That said, It makes me wonder if he would even make a decent OC at this point! Perhaps there was a good reason he was fired by Tod Haley as the Chiefs OC two weeks before the season started in 08 Gailey looks to get Spiller and Jackson a combined 30-40 touches In reference to C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said "If we can let them touch it between 30 and 40 times a game, I think that's pretty good for us." Which doesn't necessarily mean 20 runs apiece, but both players only touched the ball 22 times, 6 runs, 5 receptions. So they went in with a plan... but only managed about 1/2 the touches they wanted. Granted the Texans were in an 8 man front, but exactly why does that stop the RB's from getting more passes in screens ect.. Stevie Johnson only caught 3 passes out of the 38 balls Fitz threw. Spiller should be getting 20-25 touches a game no question about it, best play maker on the team and he saw the ball only 11 times
  24. That may be, but considering how this fan base has supported an inferior team for so many years and allowed Wilson to live the high life with all his expensive hobbies you would think he would leave some sort of plan to at least keep the Bills in Buffalo. He doesn't have a plan afik or anyone else knows. How many millions could he possibly lose if he allowed open bidding but the new owner would be forced to keep the team in Buffalo? Al Davis couldn't make a profit with his team in LA, so unless some London billionaire goes crazy I'd think the sale won't really surpass what the team is worth by that much. 29th at 805 million, and mostly because the team is, and has been such a loser. Wilson is his own worst enemy.
  25. or longer... Yea, whats sucks is the only thing Bills fans can look forward to is next years draft.... OH WAIT! the last 3 drafts have stunk Well, at least we can wait till ownership changes and the new owner hires a top president / GM / HC ...maybe. OH WAIT! Ralph Wilson is selling to the highest bidder who might move the team to LA, or London
