  1. No, they wouldn't!! Finding a Tom Brady-Drew Brees- Andrew Luck- Peyton Manning is like finding hens teeth! Ever see hens teeth? First of all Buddy Nix stated he wasn't going to select a QB unless he could get a top tier "franchise" QB in the draft. So none were available to the bills the last 3 years, so they bypassed a QB. Look at the teams that selected Colin Kaepernick, Andy Dalton, Russell Wilson and look at those QB's. None were graded to be top tier and yet all three are playing like they are. Its because of the team that is built around them. Their supporting cast is good enough to allow them to win. With Wilson, Kaepernick they have a top run game and defense which helps immensely to win games. The Bengals have the defense but instead of a top run game they have one of the very best WR's in the league in AJ Green. The Bills don't need a premier QB to win, all they needed was a smart GM to find the proper players. A Smart head coach to know how to utilize his players. Buddy Nix is a dufas, the man he hired as HC is a dufas and the DC is the biggest dufas of all. A better defense this year could have helped this team win more games. Instead Gailey hired an old friend who is clearly lost his ability to setup a proper defensive scheme and call plays. Dave Wannstedt took a team with more player talent then Jauron, Fewell or George Edwards had on it and made it worse. Kind of unbelievable to me, nonetheless true. Chan Gailey, a supposed QB guru can't get anyone but Ryan Fitzpatrick to run his offense. Not Trent Edwards, Not Brian Brohm, Not Levi Brown, Not Vince Young, Not Tavaris Jackson, Not Tyler Thigpen, Not Brad Smith. one of EIGHT! The Bills possess two of the very best running backs in the game and yet this HC would prefer to constantly throw the ball with a sub par, broken QB, then run it with his super star RB's! This team doesn't need another mediocre GM / HC. This team needs to find the right men who are smart enough to do their jobs properly! Like the Atlanta Falcons did with HC Mike Smith, GM Tomas Dimitroff Like the San Francisco 49ers did with Jim Harbaugh. Like the Denver Broncos did with John Fox, Like the Seattle Seahawks did with Pete Carroll. Like the New England Patriots did with Bill Belichick. Like the Green Bay Packers did with Mike McCarthy. Like the New Orleans Saints did with Sean Payton Like the NY Giants did with Tom Coughlin Like the Indianapolis Colts did with Chuck Pagano Like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did with Greg Schiano -he will do better next year Like the St Louis Rams did with Jeff Fisher- he will do better next year
  2. NFN, but did you ever stop to think that if you stop buying season tickets and many others follow that perhaps this owner will finally wake up and hire a top head coach like he did in years past. This owner KNOWS who to hire, he just refuses to do that until the fans force him to.
  3. Not a fan, more like a troll / fanatic to keep defending one of the worst head coaches in Bills history. Sorry Mrs Gailey, but this owner is going to wake from his coma and fire some people after this season regardless of what you or Buddy Nix wants.
  4. You said it brother Continuity is the very same BS that Dick Jauron stated when asked why he retained OC Turk Schonert, and then went and fired him two weeks before the 09 season started. These 2 morons have had 3 years to get it together and 50-17 loss to Pete Carroll's Seahawks with a rookie QB the Bills could have easily drafted in the 3rd round is an outright slap in the face to every Bills fan out there. Nix / Gailey simply don't have the brain cells to turn this franchise into a winner, and they never will have them. Is this going to be another Dick Jauron debacle when owner Ralph Wilson finally fired these two morons after 9 games next year? Why give these two idiots another draft, off season, and free agency period to screw up? If you went into a hospital to have a gall bladder operation and instead the moron removes your appendix...would you let the same idiot operate on you twice?
  5. I have wanted Nix / gailey fired after watching what they both did in their first draft, off season, free agency, pre season. Three years of rumbling, bumbling, stumbling. Bone headed move after bone headed move. The fans constantly making excuses over and over for those two losers. I just kept forgetting who owns the team. Nothing changes for the better until Wilson is finally gone
  6. Horsecrap, this man knows who to hire and just refuses to hire the right people for several reasons. He knew enough to hire Chuck Knox when he needed to,which was the stadium was empty and fans stopped buying season tickets. Then Wilson replaced Knox once the team was winning again and the stadium was filled again. What does it tell you about an owner who has kept the team in Buffalo for 50 years and yet doesn't setup a succession plan for when he passes. He also thinks no other person but him could make a profit in the Buffalo area. Bill Polian tried in vein to teach Wilson that you need to spend money ( in the right areas ) to make money. Also, because no good coach / GM in his right mind wants to work for a notoriously cantankerous micromanaging owner. You don't see Wilson in the locker room anymore like Jerry Jones, but his presence is there nonetheless. In the 40 or so years I've been a Bills fan I've read many things that tell me that Ralph Wilson is just about as "hands on" as any owner ever has been, or ever will be. I've read that during the season he was on the phone every day for hours with Dick Jauron, and now that Buddy Nix is the GM Wilson is on the phone every day with him. What top HC / GM would put up with that? What other owner has allowed TWO lost decades of losing, the 70's and the 2000-2012 eras. In the entire decade of the 70's the Buffalo Bills never beat Don Schula's Miami Dolphins once, not once! Ralph Wilson was too busy with his other hobbies to care about his football team. Horse breeding, horse racing and Tennis. History has shown that this owner cares more about the team making a profit then he does about winning. I'd say that easily qualifies him as the worst owner in the history of the NFL!
  7. Chan Gailey hired him in 2011 to run the defense
  8. More like.... NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNTIL THIS FRANCHISE HAS NEW OWNERSHIP!! For the love of god, who cares if Nix / Gailey stays, or leaves, or Ralph Wilson hires another set incompetent bums. Isn't twelve years enough of this crud? The 49ers hire a great HC and BOOM in the playoffs in one year. The Broncos hire a great HC and BOOM in the playoffs in one year The Falcons hire a great HC and BOOM in the playoffs in one year This franchise needs a better president then owner Ralph Wilson, who has been in a coma the last decade. They need a better GM then a retired head scout who sucked at his job to begin with, which is the entire reason he was never offered a GM job in his first 70 years. This franchise needs a better HC then someone who was fired from his last job as an OC because he sucked. NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNTIL THIS FRANCHISE HAS NEW OWNERSHIP!! Or this fan base grows some brains and stops buying 40 thousand+ season tickets to watch constant losing
  9. Great points Don't forget that this owner doesn't want a smart, strong willed leader in power as that would usurp his own control. This owner wants someone who he can manipulate, and micromanage. It was stated that during the season Jauron needed to spend hours on the phone every day with Wilson. Calling GM Buddy Nix or the HC on the phone every day is absurd in a Jerry Jones sort of way. What other top HC / executive would stand for that nonsense? It sucks as we fans have no alternative but to wait until this owner passes to see a winning team. What sucks even more is the screw job he is giving the devoted Buffalo Bills fans by selling to the highest bidder and not ensuring the team will stay in the area.
  10. It only took 3 drafts and free agency periods to fix an O line that should have been in the very first off season. This team is filled with cast offs, bums and underachievers. So many defensive players drafted the last 3 years and only the first round picks are doing ok, not great, just ok. Jeez, look at the Job John Elway did in Denver in his two years, and he never had experience at running a franchise. Buddy Nix sucks, the HC he hired sucks, and the DC the HC sucks most of all. The sad thing is will be that nothing changes until this loser of an owner passes on.
  11. I'll always watch the NFL games each week. So yea, I'll have the NFL Sunday ticket. I just stopped watching the Buffalo Bills games after week 5 and that debacle in SF in a 45-3 loss where the 49ers set an NFL record for the first 300 yard passer and 300 yards rushing in the same game. The current backup QB Alex Smith accomplished that. Which is something HoF QB Joe Montana and HoF QB Steve Young both failed to do. I mean how pathetic to they need to get before this fan base stops wasting money on Buffalo Bills tickets? The lost decade of 2000-2012 I just don't get the mindset of todays fan base to keep supporting the bad hires. The Bills could hire whomever they want, they just need to spend more then other teams to get a quality person as this franchise has a history of doing everything wrong.
  12. There could be some thought going forward that since John Elway became president of the Denver Broncos, he hired ex Panthers HC John Fox to be the new Broncos HC, brought in QB Peyton Manning thus turning a losing franchise back into a winning franchise in 2 short years. Elway and Co were smart enough to select LB Von Miller when everyone else was telling them they needed a DT and Marcell Dareus was the best player in that 2011 draft. The Bills could look into hiring Jim Kelly as president to see if he has the wherewithal to make the proper decisions as Elway has done in Denver. Although, Ted Marchibroda taught Jim Kelly to call his own plays at the LoS in a simplified spread offense. I kinda doubt he has that Peyton Manning type understanding of an offense and how to game plan opponents properly, I could be wrong tho. Jim Kelly as got to be more effective as president then the bum who has been president since he fired Tom Donahoe. The Miami Dolphins hired Dan Marino as president, and that lasted about a week until Marino realized he was in way over his head, and backed out of the job. Preferring instead, to take a much simpler job as an announcer
  13. Ineptitude comes in all shapes and sizes also, but mostly to older people who are in over their heads. I have my doubts that Nix was ever even good as his job as a head scout, or gailey as an OC. Only the Buffalo Bills would hire two has beens. But, that ineptitude starts at the top of the food chain with owner Ralph Wilson.
  14. First of all, Ralph Wilson needs to actually care about his football team, he doesn't! He lets the three stooges run his football operations for him. Jeez where do I sign up to make millions a year for constant inept decisions? Anyway, when Wilson does gain consciousness all he thinks about is his horses and horse racing as he is president of the Buffalo Bills so he can spend his income on all his other hobbies. No worries tho, his stooges will draft a QB THIS year...so all the fans will buy season tickets again.
  15. No offense homer, but "IF"Buddy Nix knew wth he was doing in the draft he wouldn't have needed to spend 100 mill on a DE / pass rusher and another 12 mill on a dud / bust DE. He could have drafted Aldon Smith at LBer or JJ Watt at DE. The man has no clue what he is doing as a talent evaluator, that is a pretty sad statement against a former chief scout. So what does that say about Buddy Nix the GM when he hires a coach that marries a broken QB for the last 3 years, and the overall record is W/L 15-30 Nix should have fixed that O line BEFORE the 2010 season, and not 3 years later As for the QB, again "IF" Nix knew wth he was doing he could have drafted Andy Dalton over scrub CB Aaron Williams in the 2nd in 2011. Come to think of it Nix had his choice of the 4 out of 5 top picks in 2011 and he chose the only player to not make the pro bowl. He could have traded back and taken one of the two defensive players I mentioned or taken the WR-WR-CB Buddy Nix is what his record says he is after 3 years, probably 18-30 after the season. Pretty damn bad in my view.
  16. Marshawn will tear into that Buffalo Bills 28th ranked run defense and the Bills will lose the lead...we all know what happens next... If there is any doubt yep,as usual
  17. The time was 3 years ago to get a QB... Is Nix intentionally screwing up saying things like this to get fired so he can still get paid, and do nothing, or is he really this stupid? If they had drafted those two, the Bills would have been in the playoff hunt for the past 2 years...no wait, ex DC George Edwards, and current Dave Wannstedt combined couldn't make one fifth of Mike Zimmer, the Bengals DC. The Bills would still be losers with no defense. That Bengal defense ranked 6th has Hue Jackson as assistant ST / DB coach also. Come to think of it Gailey can't touch Bengal OC Jay Gruden either. There is more talent at coaching in just one of the Bengal coaches then what the entire Buffalo Bills coaching staff has.
  18. Hi, welcome to OBD To answer you, not a chance they would know who to pick, Buddy Nix even stated on the radio today that AJ Green and Andy Dalton have changed the Bengals around, and into a winner... and that complete moron of a GM had a chance to draft both...and didn't how is Aaron Williams playing vs Andy Dalton?
  19. Yeah! Lets sign this GM and coaching staff to lifetime contracts because performance in this city doesn't count as the fans will accept any win / loss record... To the OP, not only doesn't this GM have a clue, the guy that hired Buddy Nix hasn't had a clue for over 12 years. The FO staff are much to busy trying to figure out how to market the team and sell tickets to be interested in anything as mundane as winning. http://sports.yahoo....ug=ycn-10603295
  20. It took 3 years to determine the team needed a QB! When your older it takes longer to see things I suppose. Kinda like the brilliant statement when free agency opened in 2010 "I'm going to get some sleep"and then Nix signed Cornell Green for 2 mil in that years free agency. No red flags...But it almost makes me wonder if the guy ever woke up. Anyway, leave it to Bills fans to keep defending this loser of a GM, along with the morons he hired. Always nice to know nothing will change unless this owner passes on.
  21. Especially considering they are now without their best O lineman in C Eric Wood, the backup RT in Hairston, and starting RB Fred Jackson. Gailey refuses to give Spiller 25 rushes or the 30 touches needed to win, Choice will get half his touches. Just think, The Bills were pretty healthy facing the Titans, Colts and the real reason they lost those games was ineptitude in coaching & QB
  22. Clearly, superior coaching could have helped Marshawn Lynch and not just a change of scenery. The man is a beast and would have been a major power back to offset Fred Jackson as the 3rd down back similar to Darren Sproles.A former #1 pick in 2007, a 1000 yard RB for a 5th round pick Superior coaching also would have made a better choice then to stick with Trent Edwards all pre season and then cut him after two games. Bringing in an unprepared Fitz to run for his life for half the season. If in that first year Nix had drafted a LT to replace Jason Peters, and had found a better RT then Cornell Green to start the year that offensive line would have been so much better then it was Jeez, look at the Patriots for 2010 drafting @ 27th their #1 pick was CB Devin McCourty, and #2 was TE Rob Gronkowski...
  23. A new OC? Jeez, I'm hoping for a new coaching staff and GM at this point. This good old boy connection has been worse then Jauron / Levy. Tough to believe I know, but nonetheless true. I have a difficult time believing that this owner hasn't taken notice of his teams performance this third year, and he can't be happy with Nix or Gailey. 15-30 .333 is the record for both Nix /Gailey. I'm hoping Ralph Wilson wakes up from his coma long enough to realize just how bad his team has become under Buddy Nix. A real good old boy, but not in the same league as Bill Polian / John Butler....not even close!
  24. 15-30 .333 is the current record for both Nix /Gailey. Deviating from the OP point a bit, and looking back to the Tom Donahe era. Tom Donahoe went 31-48, and he drafted 3 players to make the pro bowl. Has any player made the pro bowl that Nix Drafted? Where are all the super stars on this team drafted by Nix on a team supposedly devoid of of talent? At least the Bills had a winning season under Donahoe in 2004, and Mike Mularkey 9-7. At least the Bills were on the verge with Jauron / Levy at 7-9. The talent might be equal or slightly better now. Although, no Bill player that Nix brought in has made the pro bowl, and the team simply hasn't won as many games. As big a moron as most fans now think of Dick Jauron with the offense, he wasn't as big a moron as Chan Gailey has been with the defensive side. What a waste of 3 years.
  25. Now go back to 08 and make that same comparison. Lee Evans & Josh Reed @ WR Marshawn Lynch PB RB neither Spiller or Jackson made the pro bowl yet Jason Peters PB LT still haven't replaced this talent completely Aaron Schobel PB DE / pass rusher... didn't cost 100 million Poz at LB better then anything the Bills currently have at LB Whitner & Simpson at S Greer & McGee @CB Even with Trent Edwards at QB the Bills were a better team as their record says so! 7-9 beats anything Gailey / Nix have done
