Daniel Jeremiah mock draft...
thewildrabbit replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What my earlier post was stating is although there is no clear cut franchise QB like Andrew Luck. Who is to say that there isn't another Tom Brady (a 6th rounder) Tony Romo / Kurt Warner (undrafted) or some unknown who will step up into that elite category. All we as Bills fans can hope for is that Doug Marrone knows what he is looking at when evaluating a QB. It was crystal clear that Chan Gailey, the supposed QB guru didn't know his arse from his elbow on QB's. He started Trent Edwards in 2010, and stated he thought Brian Brohm, Edwards and Fitz were all about equal It has to be up to Marrone because Buddy Nix has proven he doesn't know the difference either, he allowed Edwards to happen. Plus he whiffed on Andy Dalton, Collin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson. Not only do we need to hope Marrone knows what he is looking at in a QB. We all need to hope he knows how to build a proper NFL team that can win against Bill Belichick and Brady. It must be agonizing to decide on a QB and then watch him fail at the NFL level because you can't see into a players heart to see his determination to succeed and win. AKA JaMarcus Russell. Marrone worked for the NO Saints so he has been close to Drew Brees, and has seen first hand what a winning NFL QB is made of. Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy! -
Daniel Jeremiah mock draft...

http://www.nfl.com/d...013/mock-drafts Obviously finding a "franchise QB is not an exact science or Tom Brady would have been the 1st overall instead of the #199th pick in the 6th round, a compensatory pick no less. Although there are no easy franchise QB's in this years draft like Andrew Luck or Matthew Stafford. Luck was compared to John Elway and was a basic 'No brainer" prototypical NFL QB. Who is to say that there is no Tom Brady, Kurt Warner (undrafted), Tony Romo (undrafted), Matt Hasselbeck (6th round), Mark Brunell (5th round) in this years draft...nobody, that's who. I say build a proper team, good O line, good WR corps, top running attack, and defense. Then add a rookie who you develop properly.and all this will at least give your young QB a fighting chance to develop. Oh, BTW.... http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/mock-drafts -
Dorin Dickerson (update - re-signed with Bills)
thewildrabbit replied to buffalobillsgrl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably why the Patriots carry so many TE's on their roster -
1990, I look back at that 90 team that were 19 point favorites to win, 9 pro bowlers on the roster. More then just the kick...its as if the Bills coaches didn't watch the NFC games or Championship game. If they had they would have most certainly run the ball more in the first half instead of trying to throw all over. The Giants were in a 4-1-6 defense most of the game to mitigate Kelly's passing, and it worked. (An older Lawrence Taylor was the singular LBer spying on Thurman Thomas, 15 rushes for 135 yard. So that didn't work) The Giants had managed to hold Joe Montana, and the 49ers to 13 points in that Championship game, but apparently the Bills coaches missed that. I dunno, perhaps it was over confidence in the fact that the Bills beat the Giants that year in NY in week 15. In which Kelly hurt his knee and left the game. Then Frank Reich came in to fill in and the Bills won 17-13. I feel bad for Scott Norwood for even being put in position to attempt a 47 yard FG, and he became the scapegoat forever with "wide right". When it should have been Kelly / Levy for not running the ball more.

While I don't hate the guy for the way he treated dogs, I refuse to endorse him. The man is about as sharp as a sack of wet mice. Mike Vick never studied film at all while he was in Atlanta, and he still has trouble reading defenses. 15.5 million a year for a broken QB...what are some of you thinking? I'm of the mind that Vick was the wealthiest QB in the NFL by far, making 25 million dollars a year with a rich NFL contact and endorsements.Loses all that and ends up in prison? What a role model... What type of person is stupid enough to jeopardize his career by being involved in dog fighting in the first place. I'm not really certain why Bills fans are so desperate that they are ready to grab at anything that even looks like an improvement. VICK IS NOT AN UPGRADE. I'd rather see a rookie QB in there then a guy who sucked with a decent team around him!! How much more talent did they need on the "dream team" to succeed? 4-12 last year makes them worse then the Bills, Vick in 10 games, 12 TD's, 10 INT's

The 49ers had other head coaches with the exact same talent and sucked. Alex Smith was a huge bust that the 49ers couldn't find a trade for, and Harbough came in and he turned that bust into a playoff caliber QB. He hired the right assistants, ran the proper schemes for the current player personnel. Being an ex NFL QB for 14 seasons taught him how to run an NFL offense. He also coached Andrew Luck in college. I'd say that team going to the (13-3) NFC championship game during the same year they hired a new HC and coaching staff, along with the strike shortened off season showed me it was all coaching. The 49ers have some top talent for sure, but don't forget that talent doesn't get noticed if the team only goes 6-10 like they did the year before Harbough was hired. They had 2 players in the pro bowl in 2010 Justin Smith & Patrick Willis. In 2010 Alex Smith started 10 games and threw 14 TD's with 10 INT's. the 49ers went 3-7 with him at QB.

I wouldn't, Vick just doesn't have the ability to get the ball out quickly enough and thus takes way way to many hits. Everyone thinks the Bills O line is one of the best in the league are in for a rude shock when a different QB steps full time behind center in Buffalo. Vick was a turnover machine on the Eagles last year. Remember guys the biggest problem last year was that pathetic defense that yielded NFL & franchise worsts. The entire offense would look different with a scheme like the Texans / 49ers that runs first, and lets the QB manage the game by mostly handing off to the supreme talent the bills have at RB

Kiper/McShay mock draft 2.0
thewildrabbit replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These are just time wasters while we all wait for the combine. Once that happens we will know more about each player. Although the combine is just a bunch of guys working out in shorts and the players film will still be the real deal. I just can't wait to hear what Mike Mayock has to say about this years draft prospects. Forget McShay and Kiper -
I never saw the reason why he started in the first place I never saw him as a stater either. I think many Bills fans will be surprised at how that line performs without Fitz and in Gaileys short / quick throwing schemes. The only 3 players I consider worthy are Wood, levitre and Glenn. then consider Wood always end his season on IR. The Bills need depth at C and more talent at RT-RG. JMO

Donte Whitner 7th Worst Safety
thewildrabbit replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 49ers thought enough of the guy to bring him during free agency into their #3 defense in the NFL this year, and #4 defense last year. He was selected to the first team pro bowl, and did play in this years super bowl. I just don't get the hate from some people. What does it say about the karma for this franchise when the fans literally spew constant hatred about a player who did his best in Buffalo given his circumstance? Lets not forget that the Bills under Marv Levy just had just cut Lawyer Milloy, and were literally desperate for a safety. I'm not defending the pick or the player. But the Bills have been making stupid mistakes in every avenue of the franchise the last 13 years. -
Donte Whitner 7th Worst Safety
thewildrabbit replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only a Bills fan would feel the need to slam a guy who did his best in Jauron's craptacular Tampa 2 scheme. All Whitner did was make the tackles missed by the 7 guys in front of him game after game, year after year!! Yeah, 49er fans hate the guy for making vicious hits, like the one that knocked Saints RB Pierre Thomas out of the game in the NFC championship game in 2011. You know, the hit that also also caused a turnover with the Saints in the Niners redzone. What does it say about said Bills fan who still wants to slam a guy who made first string pro bowl, and is now going to the Super Bowl with his new team. Who can't let it go? -
Neither of the new HC's of the Eagle / Browns drafted or endorsed QB's Michael Vick / Nick Foles & Brandon Weeden and both might want someone different to run their teams. Fitz sucked and yet had a better rating then Weeden / Vick / Foles in both % and rating. New Browns HC Rob Chudzinski, "I think it's premature to say that," Chud said. Although the strong-armed Weeden has the general skill set a Norv Turner/Chud offense requires, the new regime does not appear high on him. Freshly hired VP of Player Personnel Mike Lombardi was very critical of the Weeden pick while serving as an NFL analyst last season. The only other quarterbacks on the Browns' roster are Colt McCoy and Thaddeus Lewis. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/254549/chudzinski-wont-commit-to-weeden-for-2013 Chip Kelly 56-7 at Oregon might not want either Vick or Foles to run his fast paced, spread offense with the Eagles. "Vick is also due $15.5 million in 2013 with another $15.5 million coming in 2014, and his play has been on a steady decline since his return to prominence in 2010 when he wrested the starting job from Kevin Kolb" Talk about injuries, Vick has played in only ONE complete 16 game season in his 9 years in the NFL. Vick is also 33 years old. Foles is more a pocket passer, and not a running QB like Kaepernick, Wilson, and RG3 The Raiders that injury to Carson Palmer is worse then everyone first thought, but who knows. "Palmer signed a four-year deal with the Raiders that goes through 2016, however the final two seasons are voidable. According to National Football Post, the Raiders may be" looking beyond Palmer for their quarterback needs. http://www.cincyjungle.com/2012/12/28/3811638/nfp-carson-palmer-may-be-out-of-oakland-after-this-year Chiefs, Jags, Raiders, Eagles, Browns, Cards all pick before Buffalo and all could want a QB. The Lions are the only team to be solid at QB with Matthew Stafford

Good post I look at Barkley and see a newer version of Ryan Fitzpatrick, short for a prototypical NFL QB, and only average arm, only this new version has better accuracy and can win games, a lot of games. Huge difference! I look at Mike Glennon and see a taller version of Trent Edwards, (who got beat up and didn't have a very good O line, likes to dump the ball off to RB's) and perhaps is another Joe Flacco clone. Like Flacco he will need to be drafted into a solid offense to be able to fully develop. While Glennon has footwork issues he has a picture perfect over the top ball delivery. I watch Tyler Bray and see another Jay Cutler type (a gunslinger) with a rocket arm, but a guy with only a 3/4 delivery like Phillip Rivers. Bray has footwork and delivery issues that if corrected he could easily be the most outstanding QB in this years draft. Considering 6 of the 7 teams drafting in front of the Bills all need a franchise QB, it might be difficult to draft anyone besides Bray. Just watch all this years QB's climb up into the first round, at least 5.

What two QB'S do we draft and in what rounds?
thewildrabbit replied to Dat Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought perhaps they were in a much darker area... Yea, Matt Barkley and Tyler Bray, 1 & 2 It does make sense considering how few QB's the Bills have spent high picks on over the last 18 years. -
Petition - FIRE RUSS BRANDON NOW!!!
thewildrabbit replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No offense, but this thread is a waste of time as nothing will change until ownership changes. Ralph Wilson has his man trained to a tee, money first, and wins...if they happen to win all the better.. if not, C'est la vie. -
Can We Get Rid Of Aaron Williams Quick Enough?
thewildrabbit replied to BuffBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta remember the Bills success at drafting, more misses then hits. A blindfolded monkey throwing at the draft chart could do as well. Part of the reason they drafted 18+ different DB's the last 7 years. How many #1's spent on RB's and DB's vs QB's is the biggest reason for the last 13 years. -
My 2013 Draft Strategy for the Bills
thewildrabbit replied to TheKickIsGood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably meant as something comical considering how long it has been since Jim Kelly...But, you just can't give more then a few QB's that many reps at a time unless you hire 2 other teams to help to run reps. Even then, you need to pick ONE and they get most of the work to run the offense during the pre season. Seriously, the Buffalo Bills have spent many many more picks on RB's and DB's the past 18 years for whatever reason, and just not enough #1's on QB's. Which is completely moronic when you think about how desperate this franchise has been for another great QB. -
My take with Bray is, his arm is so strong he doesn't always focus on his footwork, as he doesn't always step into his throws. Which would help his accuracy if he did more often. He does hold the ball low and throws sidearm a lot. If you watch Peyton Manning he keeps the ball up by his shoulder, and only needs to bring the ball back behind his ear to rooster, throw, resulting in a much much faster release. One that isn't telegraphed to the defense, as split seconds count in the pro's. He reminds me of Byron Leftwich who also held the ball low, and had a long windup. What Matthew Fairburn is stating, is that it shouldn't be that difficult to correct Bray's footwork, and ball skills, as he already does always hold the ball with 2 hands. Just bring it up high as soon as he gets it, and accuracy along with release should improve greatly. This really is a huge deal because he is so immobile. JMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR6PLxVWFTw On another note, just think if he gets some receivers that can actually catch most of his throws.

Just after Chan Gailey was hired Peter King wrote an article stating that Gailey had told the Bills FO he could win without stars! Probably the reason Gailey hung on to Fitz for so long. Some lameoids in the FO bought that idea too. Although someone forgot to give that memo to Buddy Nix and his 100 million dollar DE. But then I suppose if you can't figure out what player to draft for 3 years...then just sign the most expensive DE you can find in free agency. I recall Ralph Wilson stating that the Bills would draft a QB in 2011, tho they never did. This leaves me to think the past 3 years have been all Buddy Nix. The man can't find a pass rusher, can't find a WR, can't find a QB, can't find a LBer in 3 years of drafting... so now suddenly the FO trusts the guy to find their franchise QB in a weak QB class. I can only hope Marrone knows what he is doing because its evident that nobody else at OBD does.

Jim Harbaugh already had a #1 overall pick at QB in Alex Smith and resurrected him from a QB that couldn't win, that nobody wanted, to a playoff caliber player. Which still wasn't good enough for him so tried to sign Manning and he drafted Colin Kaepernick. Pete Carroll in Seattle with Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Whitehurst Matt Flynn, Tavaris Jackson, then drafted Russell Wilson, Mike Shanahan in Washington with Donovan McNabb, Rex Grossman, John Beck, then gave up the farm for RG3, and still drafted Kirk Cousins in the same year. Top, smart, very good head coaches keep working, and looking to obtain that elusive "elite" QB that can win a SB for them. Unlike the Buffalo Bills with Nix & Gailey who stuck with Fitz for 3 years and didn't even bring in reasonable competition for the QB position is a big reason why the team doesn't win many games. P.S. Someone please explain how Buddy Nix missed so badly by drafting DB Aaron Williams with a #2 pick right before Andy Dalton in the 2011 draft. There was no Tom Modrak excuse for the 2011 Draft. Besides CJ Spiller (who was Gaileys waterbug) where are all the future pro bowlers from the Buddy Nix drafts? This is the man the Buffalo Bills are trusting to find their franchise QB?

Mike Glennon - QB - NC State
thewildrabbit replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, he might be decent in about 4 years behind a solid O line... "Everything you've seen and read about him being a statuesque pocket passer is true and concerns about his accuracy down the middle of the field and being frenetic when under pressure are valid" There's work to be done on him but the consensus is that his arm has potential and that might be enough for a team to fall in love with him with a Top-30 pick. http://www.cbssports...players/1630353 http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/12/mike-glennon-scouting-report.html from the nepatriots.com Why draft a guy this year who will take 2-4 years to develop when they can draft a guy next year ready to start.
