  1. The sole reason in my mind why the Patriots even drafted Mallett was because he was probably the BPA on their boards at the time. Then reasoning what they got for Matt Cassell they said, why not! Summary: A tall, lumbering, rocket-balling pocket passer who sprays live bullets, Mallett began to settle down as a senior and fits very well in a vertical passing attack, but issues still reside about his makeup and lack of maturity. Will not be able to live off his arm talent alone in the NFL, and his inaccuracy and shaky decision making are concerning. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2011/04/29/patriots-no-5-pick-scouting-report-qb-ryan-mallett Hey, he could be another Drew Bledsoe... should the Patriots part with him, the team that acquires him better have a top O line. NFN, but who really knows how his development has been going. There must be a reason why he doesn't step in for more mop up duty.
  2. I think the guy has some rare insights at times as he was the one who called the Bills taking Spiller. He is a good scout and knows his stuff or he wouldn't be working for the NFL. A lot has been said about Fitz, and his accuracy, but I can remember how strong those winds are in RWS, and how difficult it is to throw at times.. I've also read about other teams QB's complaining about those winds when they play in Buffalo, especially in winter. The Bills need a QB with a cannon like Jim Kelly had to cut thu those winds. Bray / Glennon have the arm. And if you are old enough to remember, they said that exact same thing about Jim Kelly.
  3. He is special alright, especially slow
  4. Not only that, the Vols had the very worst head coach in their recent history last year Want to know why the Vols were so bad this year? They did have a decent QB and WR corps but... "The Vols briefly entered the Top 25 after winning their first two games, but they've lost seven of nine since. Their defense has allowed 37.4 points and 476.8 yards per game to rank statistically among the worst in school history." ex Tennessee HC Derek Dooley: "Among Tennessee coaches to last at least three seasons, Derek Dooley has the worst win percentage (.417) in school history. No Vols coach has departed with even a sub-.500 mark since 1935." http://espn.go.com/c...-another-season http://forums.twobil...lk/page__st__20 If Bray gets drafted by the Bills in the 2nd or 3rd it will be because Nassib is already gone. Should that happen expect Fitz or TJ to start while they develop Bray
  5. Naa, the stuff he did was minor kids stuff no where near the real problems some players face, drugs, arrests, DUI's, suspensions. Bray was caught playing chicken on a jet ski,and throwing beer bottles at a parked car...oooh send him to prison now! http://www.govolsxtr...boating-charge/ Look at Cam Newton's troubles, caught cheating on collage tests and was forced to leave college because of it, stole a laptop ETC. PFW http://www.al.com/sp...s_scathing.html I like Bray a bunch, and hope he gets a shot with a solid team http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/155711-qb-talk/
  6. Because early #2 picks should be starters and play well.. if he were a 3,4,5,6 then it would be different. Also Like Bill mentioned, Nix took this kid and passed up QB's who would have made a huge impact. Face facts, it shouldn't take 2+ years to develop a DB!
  7. Dumb seems reign in TBD forums about this time of year as most Bills fans want to trade for every other QB in the league. If the guy was worth a rodents rear end some other team would have traded for him by now
  8. First off I was taking about Nassib, not Geno Smith. I didn't tout any of of those QB's as first round picks either. All I did was question this mans ability to judge college talent considering what he is stating about Nassib. Instead of slamming me for slamming him, why don't you elaborate on Doug Farrar's elite scouting skills. Go on, do some research and tell me what makes this guy even worth reading!!
  9. If this new HC is worth anything he will have the team on track to have a winning season THIS YEAR. He has a basic core of good players on both sides of the ball. I realize there are quite a few positions that need upgrading. LB, WR, QB, TE. The fact he is dumping some of the WR's & LBers on the team tells me he isn't satisfied with the sub par players at those positions. This also tells me he knows how to evaluate talent better then his predecessor. I'm hoping the Bills go WR at #1 in Patterson, and either draft a QB in the 2nd or move back up into the first to get one. Lotta trust in this new HC to see if he knows what he is doing, and we all should know by the time the season starts.
  10. Who the heck is Doug Farrar, and what has he done in life that qualifies him as an elite draft scout? Not a darn thing from what I can find on the guy! Why do you guys read crap from a Seattle beat writer and think it is the gospel. How a bout we wait until Mayock or the two ESPN draftniks to put out their formal 2 cents after the combine. Everything this dufas stated about Nassib is almost the opposite from what I'm hearing on the NFL network from ex GM's
  11. What would you give to get an AJ Green / Julio Jones? This kid could be special. The Bills have been desperate for a top ten WR for about as long as they needed a QB. Mike Mayock's jaw dropped when he watched the tape on this kid. Grab him in the first and Nassib in the 2nd. If Nassib is gone then Bray works. Hunter is ranked the 10th WR on some site, how is his knee? READ THIS! "You can bet the Bills took a good long look at Cordarrelle Patterson and the other wideouts at the NFL combine on Sunday." "Buffalo, which owns the eighth overall pick, is overhauling its receiving corps." Finally http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/nfl-rapidreports/21761020/bills-revamping-wideout-corps-prelude-to-cordarrelle-patterson-
  12. PFT, Florio, Mayock talking QB's, and the draft Cheesecake analogy could lead to quarterbacks going earlier than expected http://profootballta...-than-expected/
  13. Nix has been the GM for 3 seasons, Byrd, Wood, Levitre were all Jauron's, along with Aaron Maybin. So now your talking Spiller as the only real super player from the Nix era and he was Gailey's "Water-bug" When you have a team supposedly devoid of talent in 2010 and the new GM only does some patchwork to the O line, and LBer corps while totally neglecting finding a top QB. 2nd WR, top healthy TE. It takes this dolt 3 years to fill a position. So I suspect that 3 years from now the Bills might find a decent QB.
  14. Glenn is best suited to play guard or RT as he is better blocking straight ahead rather then running the arc, He would be an all pro guard vs an average LT. You will see more of what I mean if they replace Fitz this year. Stevie Johnson is a top 20 WR, just not a top10 guy which is tough to believe considering how much Gailey had Fitz throwing. Johnson might move up into the top ten if the Bills could find another top WR opposite him to take away some coverages. The Bills have been desperate for another WR, and TJ Graham isn't the answer just yet. The Bills tried to sign Robert Meachem (tho I don't know why) last free agency period and failed to obtain him. Then drafted Graham who had only 31 receptions for 322 yards, and was ranked the 137th receiver in yards last year. The Bills WR corps sucks with Johnson being the one sole decent WR on the team. Kinda why the Bills let Jones & Nelson walk this year. Makes you think WTH was Gailey doing with all those 5 WR sets doesn't it.
  15. Three years with Buddy Nix drafting and the team is STILL lacking a top QB, top WR, top LBer or two, a top LT....depth at several positions. It took 100 million to finally get a pass rusher because this scouting dept couldn't find one in the draft. Yet Buddy Nix still has a job... If they draft another CB or safety with that #8 overall this year my head will explode. 30+ DB's in the last 20 years and what has it gotten them? The more things change, the more they stay the same. I just don't see this team being competitive any time soon with Nix calling the shots. I sure hope Marrone has that Chuck Knox mentality to be able to judge players at all positions regardless of the bonehead GM..
  16. Not defending Fitz here because he did suck ass last season. Just consider the teams he has been on during his time in Buffalo. The worst defenses in the NFL, crappy receiver corps, bad scheme, bad play calling. How soon fans forget what it was like with Trent Edwards / JP Losman starting! Fitz IS a better talent then Trent Edwards / JP Losman! But he has played on worse teams.. The problem was Gailey kept thinking he had Drew Brees and just kept calling pass plays all game long. Always putting the QB is bad situations because he was almost always playing from behind. Frankly, I just don't shiv a git what Fitz did under the moron Gailey. I want to see what Marrone can do with him. If he stays broken and can't make all throws like so many here are stating. Then by all means let Marrone crap can his arse in the off season!
  17. I'm almost kinda hoping they cut or bench Fitz now. Because I can't wait until you haters see what Tavaris Jackson, Tyler Thigpen or a rookie QB looks like behind that supposed vaunted that O line. Particularly on the right side.
  18. Its more then obvious to me that Fitz is the best QB the Bills currently have on their roster. While TJ has some equal stats to Fitz, he played on a better Seahawks team and sucked there or they wouldn't have traded him away. Plus, I recall reading that in every game when the onus was on the QB to win TJ folded like a house of cards. Who knows if he read a defense, set protections, and can get rid of the ball to the open receiver in 2 seconds like Fitz can. Gailey must have thought Fitz, AND Tyler Thigpen were better or TJ would have been active at least one game last season. JaMarcus Russell can throw the ball 100+ yards, that doesn't mean he is worth a crap...
  19. Classic hater response! What reason for the clinically dense...better coaching? Fitz wasn't the biggest reason the team went 6-10 again last year. While I'm not denying Fitz did suck last season, particularly at running the 2 min drill all season. Four passing downs and out against the pathetic Titans defense to lose the game. An INT in the end zone against the Dolphins, but NVM that the rookie WR who should have never been the primary receiver as he had never even run that play before in practice (according to SJ) ran the wrong route. THAT IS BAD COACHING! NVM that the Bills moronic HC kept putting the focus on winning every game on a substandard, broken QB. However, I do recall Fitz playing lights out during a few games back in 2010 against the Ravens 37-34 / Steelers in OT, and almost winning against the Steelers if not for a dropped pass in the end zone by SJ. (the Steelers went 12-4 that year and went to the SB) Fitz threw for 29-43 for 382 yards 4 TD's against that vaunted Ravens defense. (The Ravens went 12-4 in 2010). I also recall the Bills starting 5-1 in 2011, with Fitz going 27- 40 for 369 yards against the Patriots in week three for a win that sent every Bills fan everywhere into delirium. So I know he had some ability to play well at that time! 2010, and the first half of 2011 When opposing defenses didn't know every Bills passing play by heart and knew exactly which player the ball was going to on almost every passing play. its a totally different story when the opposing defense knows what you are going to do before you do it. (AKA Titans) I also recall against the Jets, that their DB's knew the Bills passing plays / routes better then the Bills receivers did. It also doesn't help win games to make a substandard QB, and the passing game the focus.rather then the running game. Especially when you have two of the best RB's in the league. How about the haters be patient to wait and see what this new HC does with the QB situation. Fitz may still suck, just like Trent Edwards did after Gailey picked him to start in 2010. OH WAIT! You mean that supposed superstar QB Guru who didn't know the difference between Brian Brohn, Fitz and Trent Edwards, and then chose Edwards? What I'm saying is, give Marrone a chance to sort things out! BTW, improving the defense should allow any QB to play better, when the QB isn't always trying to play from behind game after game. Yea, noodle arm...50+ yard pass
  20. Great, a turd polishing a turd doesn't work, and never will. If anything Fitz should have been benched after that Washington game in 2011 for an injury and instead Gailey let him stay out there getting hammered on each game. All I gotta say is, when the hell are you people gonna wake up and realize Gailey was the worst HC this franchise has had since Hank Bullough / Kay Stephenson days. I'm not defending Fitz here or stating he is a pro bowl QB. I know he is average at best. But I do know he is better then Tyler Thigpen and Tavaris Jackson Get a grip haters, Fitz wasn't the one who gave up 45 points to the 49ers, 52 points to the Patriots, 50 points to the Seahawks and allowed that rookie RB to score 3 rushing TD's. Fitz didn't set both NFL & franchise records for being bad last season. My thinking is if Marrone can take an joe nobody like Ryan Nassib, and develop him into a 1st / 2nd round QB while playing at Syracuse with a surrounding cast of nobody's. Then it might be interesting to see if Marrone can make do with a player that the Bills FO stupidly locked themselves into for this year. I'm also thinking Fitz, TJ, and a rookie QB will be on the roster while Marrone builds the offense his way.
  21. If some of you can swallow your hate for Fitz for awhile you just might see some improvement in him this year, if they keep him that is. Why you ask? Because teams were easily prepared to counter Chan Gailey's lame smoke and mirrors offensive scheme. The Gailey spread offense was figured out by week 9 in 2011, and the Bills then went on a downhill 7 game losing spiral. Yet Gailey kept calling the same plays and running the same scheme that stopped working. This is the NFL, you can't run the same thing over and over unless you have exceptional skill players QB, WR, RB, TE. The only great spots on the offense were Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller and Stevie Johnson. Without another top WR or TE to free up Johnson he was easily double, triple covered and Gailey would try and fool the defense with a 5 WR emtpy backfield set. Like the defense didn't know Johnson was getting the ball, how moronic! Then Gailey would run out of passing formations because he didn't teach his team to run out of running formations. 4th and one and its a pass. He also used Spiller sparingly for some unknown reason, but Marrone thanks him for it. I'm thinking Marrone is not a complete boob like you know who, and he will change up the game plan and make adjustments as the game goes on. If the defenses start to catch on to one scheme he will change it up until he finds something that works. One thing I'm pretty certain off, its that the run game will see a bigger part of the game plan. Marrone will probably feature the run game and just have the QB manage the game. That way even TJ or Tyler Thigpen should be able to run the offense until the rookie QB (Nassib) is ready.
  22. From what I'm hearing this draft is very deep in talent, and not so much with elite players in the top ten. The Bills would do well to trade back and get their QB while picking up some extra picks. This team IS taking a QB in the 1st round, just not certain which one. I'd think that Nassib would be the logical choice here with the Bills taking WR Patterson at #8 and then trading back into the first to get their QB. just my 2 cents
  23. Not only that, but Glenn is more RT, or he would be an all pro guard as he is better at taking on foes straight ahead rather then running the arc. I yearn for the days of brains and balls with Bill Polian / John Butler. All the Bills have had for the last 12 years are boobs and fools. As another poster once stated a blindfolded monkey throwing darts at the big board could have done better at drafting then the Bills, I concur! I have no idea why the highly paid morons doing the scouting / drafting for the Bills have failed to identify not only the proper talent, but also the biggest positions of need. Three plus years to find a pass rusher, and they still needed to pay 100 mill to a free agent DE because they failed to find a top pass rusher in the draft. Three years to find a LT and they draft a man best suited to play guard and place him at LT. Trade away a #1 WR and then draft a 5th rounder in the 3rd round, as if that will make him a better player. The Bills are STILL desperate for LBers, a franchise QB, a #1 top WR, a #1 top TE. O line help. About the only position this staff can hit a home run with is at RB.Going on two decades now without a franchise QB, 4 years on a top LT, 2 years on a top WR, 8 years for a solid LBer corps. 30+ CB's the last 20 years and only 4 QB's drafted I think it was when Chuck Knox was hired and he immediately turned over the BIlls scouting staff and hired Norm Pollom. The man was probably responsible for finding Polain and Butler for the Bills. One day the Bills will hire someone as GM who knows WTH he is doing. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/05/13/polians-top-10-player-moves/
  24. Thanks for the updated info, I'll pass it on.
  25. You may be right as I'm simply talking with a friend who used to work for the NYC DOC. Things might have changed since he worked for them. From what he is saying you need to be approved by the warden to carry off duty, and that only applies to NYC DOC. Anyway, do yourself a favor and call a NYC attorney or NYC police station and ask them before you enter that city out of uniform with a concealed handgun.
