Bucky Gleason's article on Nix...Do you agree?
thewildrabbit replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jeez, I almost wonder if Wilson is intentionally screwing this team into the ground to alienate the fan base for some reason known only to him. On a different note. If I'm Russ Brandon and I truly have autonomy, I'd hire Bill Polian as a consultant and actually listen to him over Nix. That alone would build the team properly and also help sell season tickets if the fan base thought the old master was back at the helm. -

Chan Gailey was the worst HC record wise, worse then Dick Jauron, Greg Williams, Mike Mularkey. He hired the most incompetent DC's this franchise has ever seen! He wasted THREE YEARS on a scrub QB and had Buddy Nix convinced that he could win with Fitz, so Nix overpaid him when he didn't need to. So now the Bills don't even have that starting overpaid broken QB anymore. What a load of crap! The Bills are scrapping by because Buddy Nix is an incompetent fool. He let Levite walk, let ILB Poz walk, let S Whitner walk, traded Lynch a 1000 yard / 10+TD a year RB for almost nothing. How many 4th round picks are starting that Nix drafted? Buddy Nix inherited a 3 year 7-9* team, 6-10 team that needed a QB, RT, pass rusher, LB, a top WR, and did nothing in the draft to actually fill any of those positions with quality players. It took 3 years to finally get a half way decent LT, scrubs off the waiver wire at RT, and 100 million for a 10 sack DE. Fitz wasn't handcuffing the Bills, its the 100 mill to Mario that handcuffed the team more. This team is far worse off now then it was when Nix took over and the ONLY players he drafted worth a damn are early 1st round picks. Pure and simple Buddy Nix sucks, all he does is band-aid positions over and over. -

This is the biggest load of horse manure I've recently read!! You forgetting the fact that Gailey married himself to Fitz for 3 freaking years!! He never bothered to bring in a young QB to groom to take over at some point. He sold Nix on the idea he could win with Fitz so Nix gave him a big pay raise when he didn't need to. Gailey hired the most incompetent DC's this franchise has ever seen. 2010 team offense 28th in pts, 25 in yards 2011 team offense 14th in pts, 14th in yards 2012 team offense 21st in pts, 19th in yards So Gailey was able to make a broken QB throw for a bunch of yards, while going 4-12, 6-10. 6-10 in three years. Perhaps that is your idea of respectable. The rest of the NFL is laughing. -

It would be nice if there was someone in this org who knew the difference between a Losman and a Rodgers before they started playing in the NFL. The sad fact is, there isn't anybody with the first clue. This franchise is the perfect reflection of its owner. -
Overpay.... the Bills usually underpay. When they do overpay its usually to a player not worth the money. I can't wait for a new owner, and hopefully he wants to win more then make a profit, is smart enough to hire a brilliant football president not some money guy. Hires a GM that knows what he doing to some degree. Hires a HC that actually has some NFL acumen so he can evaluate talent at all positions. Now Marrone just might be that HC, but he will be hamstrung with Wilson as owner, Brandon as president, Nix as GM. I actually feel bad for Marrone because he won't get a fair chance to win with this dysfunctional organization around him. Buddy Nix is the laughing stock of the NFL / world after that prank phone call where he showed he is so desperate to talk to another GM that he makes a fool of himself doing so. A total embarrassment to the org, the fans, the players. Its embarrassing to be a Bills fan nowadays!! The only good thing that happed so far is the Broncos took Wes Welker away from the Patriots, and managed to get Brady pissed at his own team at the same time.

If you're going to start a rookie QB in 2013 . . .
thewildrabbit replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This might be a good example as to why the Bills should draft Alabama G Chance Warmack with that #8 pick. A guy who could be a perennial pro bowler. Levitre was average at best and looked good because he played next to a guy who should have been named to the pro bowl. That is if he wasn't injured at the end of the last two seasons. -
Has anyone seen this team worse off than right now?

Buddy Nix reminds me so much of Bullough with some of the odd things he says. I think even Stew Barber was a better GM then Nix. As so many others have stated I still have no idea why Mr Catfish is still the Bills GM. This era is bad guys, perhaps the very worst in Bills history, 13 years long. -
Amendola..Welker clone Pats new go to guy
thewildrabbit replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thing Brady restructured his contract so the Patriots had cap room to sign Welker.... Then they low balled him and actually paid scrub danny more then they offered Welker, what a team Brady isn't happy either http://www.nfl.com/n...wes-welker-deal "Losing a valuable teammate over a reported gap of $2 million is one thing. Letting him walk into the waiting arms of longtime rival Peyton Manning is capable of creating a special brand of bitter." -
....oh wait.... .... No need to waste energy on that, the Bills will be bad enough all on their own. Wilson probably begged him to take over as president considering the 10 mill per for that one game in Toronto. All we as Bills fans can do is wait for the inevitable and hope the new owner isn't a clone of the old one. Now I'm kinda grateful Wilson didn't have anyone to pass the team on to after he passes.

You guys gotta understand how Buddy Nix operates, he spent the big money on super Mario last year. This year he is willing to let dust settle and scoop up the cheap FA's, after all the big names have been signed elsewhere. BTW, the Titans signing Andy Levite is some small revenge because the Titans wanted desperately to sign Mario after they lost out on Peyton Manning. Anyway, now with Levite gone and his backup Rinehart off to the Chargers the Bills are lacking in guards. No worries tho, Nix is good at finding replacement scrubs off the waiver wire. -

missed all but one game in 2011, and only started 8 games last year, and I can only hope this move bites the Patriots hard. Remember last year when they benched Welker in favor of the TE's and then the TE's were injured so he comes off the bench for another 100+ reception season. Since 2007 almost every year 100+ receptions. Welker agrees to terms with the Broncos http://espn.go.com/n...-denver-broncos Welker missed only 3 games in 8 years with the Patriots -
Tebow. What have we got to lose ?
thewildrabbit replied to jaybee's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems to me Russ Brandon just might be scrambling around his office racking his brain for marketing ideas concerning his drowning franchise with declining season ticket sales. Two things come to mind that would help this team sell tickets, a top WR and big name QB. The Bills FO needs a big distraction about now as the team is embarrassed by its hick GM. Patriot WR Wess Welker or Packer WR Greg Jennings would go a long way to helping the Bills offense, and selling season tickets. QB Tim Tebow (a recent playoff QB)in the mix would also help sell a bunch season tickets, Signing Tim Tebow and setting up the offense so he can run a read option offense like the Broncos did, as he took them to the playoffs with that offense. It would be an in your face to the Jets HC Rex Ryan that he misused a decent player, and the Brad Smith at QB (3 mil per) experiment would finally be over. -
so let me get this right.........

Not to sure about the Laundry, is it wash day? Anyway, Buddy Nix could turn that lynch mob gathering around him into dust by simply signing Wes Welker!! Wouldn't he look great in a Bills Uni? That one signing would put butts in the seats and re-energize the entire fans base. -
Next QB to step up... I'm guessing TJ will be the brunt this season. In the mean time, ole catfisher is gonna get reamed

NFL Network: Who's in deeper ****, the Bills or Jets
thewildrabbit replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only Ralph Wilson would hire a 70 year old retired ex head scout to be GM in the first place. Wilson has to be out of his mind to allow Buddy Nix to pay a DE 100 million when he should have easily found a pass rusher in the draft the last two years. That is what handcuffed this team, not the mildly overpaid QB. Jeez, the Ravens are paying their QB 20 mill per, how in the world will they ever field a decent team again -

thewildrabbit replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea the Jets currently look worse off then the Bills because they had a moron for a GM who overpaid his QB / other free agents while moving the team into salary cap hell. Hired the wrong OC tried to change the basic formula from what made them a winning team, (play great defense and run the ball) to all out passing with a 3 year QB who wasn't fully developed. At least the Jets took a shot at finding the franchise QB tho. I'd be willing to bet that because the NY Jets owner cares more about winning games then the Buffalo Bills owner does that the Jets will make the playoffs before the Bills. The Jets will make the correct moves in the front office to correct the problems. It won't take them a decade to be in the playoffs again. A few years ago Bills fans were making fun of Jeff Ireland, the Dolphins GM. Now which fans are laughing? -
Buddy Nix will do his usual pickup of crumbs left over from other teams and band-aid the team like he does every year. Bills fans can't even take hope with the draft if Buddy Nix is calling the shots again this year. Listening to Nix stating the Bills are set at OT, but that Fitz was handcuffing the team... couldn't be the 100 million dollars for a DE because Nix failed to find one in the draft for 3 years. Will this franchise ever be good again with Ralph Wilson as owner?

thewildrabbit replied to jaybee's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills will do just fine with Fitz clone TJ as QB, and draft a rookie QB. No need to get anyones panties in a bunch over Tebowmania. -
The sky has literally been falling for Bills fans since Wade Phillips was HC / John Butler was GM, so as usual the fans are squawking. The Bills have a hillbilly hick GM who hires another good ole boy like him, then fires him. He likes to draft players from the SCC, but then doesn't know the difference between the good / bad ones. The notoriously frugal owner finally gave up his position as do nothing president, and hired a money guy to replace him. Could this franchise be any more dysfunctional towards winning? The Bills spent 100 million on a DE that got 10 sacks last year so Bills fans can't really expect getting any front running FA players this year.

Naa, just Nix is napping. the other two are counting their stash.

I think its funny that so many fans hated the guy, and yet had forgotten what it was like with Trent Edwards dumping the ball off to the RB's constantly. So ends the love / hate affair with Fitz. Now, fans will get a good look at exactly how effective that O line will be W/O Fitz and his 1.5 second release. The vicious cycle of ineptitude continues at OBD. The crafty old stodge hires a hick as GM, who in turn hires a moron, who in turn marries a backup QB...dadgumit!

But, but, but the Bills signed super Mario for 100 million last year...oh wait!
-
So you would drop a player with 100+ catches every year for a player who has played in only 12 games out of 32 the last 2 years. Wes Welker is going to stay with the Patriots. Oh, I see the Bills only adding players in free agency as band-aids. they made their big splash last year

This owner simply did what he has a storied history of doing, a hire from within the Org of somebody he trusts. While also looking for a very economical approach to hiring a new GM. It doesn't matter to him that he is incompetent. Over the past years Wilson has openly stated his team lacks talent, and then goes on to blame it on his player personnel and then fades back quietly into his job as president of the franchise. Meanwhile, assessing no blame or accountability to others because he knows he is ultimately responsible for the last decade of mismanagement on the football side. What fans simply fail to realize is this owner doesn't care if his team has a winning record or gets to the playoffs each year. As long as games are sold out and the stadium is filled, and he is making a profit on his team he is happy, and content. Ralph Wilson is anything but an idiot. He bought a team in a small market and has kept it profitable even tho the city of Buffalo itself has had drastic downturns in economic growth! Buffalo is one of the poorest cities in the USA with a population of 250K+ with almost 30% living below the poverty line. Ralph Wilson has a very rabid fan base and he knows it, with people still dreaming of Jim Kelly and 4 super bowls The Bills are their team and they come in droves to party / tailgate on Sundays. While drawing people from Rochester and Canada to help fill his stadium. As long as fans keep buying season tickets every year and the stadium is filled this owner has no incentive to change anything. Why should he? His thought, who cares if he hired an inept GM, nothing new there. A money guy as CEO / president, and 10 mill per from the Toronto deal...whats not to like. It really sucks to think it, but nothing changes until ownership changes
