  1. AND the Bills take the LEAD!!!!
  2. wow Lewis looking like a nail, getting hammered
  3. So, when Thad throws a TD pass to SJ.... its the players! But when the QB coughs up the ball 2x its the OC
  4. Buffalo in the red zone, man this OC sucks
  5. wow, 2 missed FG's in the dome
  6. While I agree they screwed up in regards to Levitre and not building that O line better knowing you are starting a rookie QB. We are watching a QB just off the practice squad that was dumped by 2x other teams. Fans need to deal with that fact
  7. Gotta love Pettine, and his D
  8. Complaining about the OC when the O line can't hold blocks, make holes or the QB can't find the open receiver is rather lame IMO. Hackett didn't cough up the ball, Thad Lewis is stinking it up
  9. Jeez, 5 Saints on FJax. gonna be a long game with Thad looking this bad
  10. good coverage, great pass and catch. Brees has so many weapons
  11. Bills O keeps trying to give them gifts, glad the Bills D is playing great
  12. Bills D does it again, Saints get the ball at the 50 and are forced to punt with all that firepower. Gotta love it.
  13. Great Bills D this year On another note, Wannstache is the Buc's ST's coach and could be the interim if Schiano gets fired according to Jason La Canfora
  14. Wowser!!! Saints went backwards <3 Pettine and the FG flubs
  15. Flynn inactive...Tuel time. Fred Jackson @ QB?
  16. I have more faith in the Bills playing well at home against the Chiefs then I do against the Saints this week
  17. NFL Network isn't doing much talking about the Jags or Bucs either, unless its talking about how much longer Schiano has a job as HC. No Spiller, FJax & SJ playing hurt, a QB a few weeks removed from the PS squad. The the NO Saints 5-1 O is #5 in the NFL in passing going against the #28 Bills defense. The Saints D is #13 overall with Rob Ryan as the DC. Think his brother will clue him in on what the Jets did to get 8 sacks on EJ? The Bills will need more then one miracle to win this game. I give the Bills a better chance to beat the 7-0 Chiefs next week at Buffalo then I do this week against the Saints in the Superdome.
  18. Three kinds of lies! Lies, damned lies, and statistics. On the "verge" of stopping the run is a far cry from actually doing it... Last year it was the pathetic play of the defense due to no LBers, and bad DC, schemes / play calling. This year its the offense with all the stars hurt and rookies at QB. The Bills are 26th in total defense yards allowed, 28th in downs, 26th in passing, 29th in rushing, 26th in receiving #1 in total tackles, #6 in sacks, and the biggest difference is the turnover ratio @ -5.(KC leads the NFL with -11) Are they simply lucky or is Pettine putting players in position to make plays? Anyway, IMO the Buffalo Bills are a few players away from becoming a top defense, and now I have faith that new GM Doug Whaley / Mike Pettine can find those players. Howsabout we revisit this thread after the Bills play the Saints in the superdome, and then play unbeaten KC at home. I fear what the Saints can do to both the Bills offense and defense. Then we might just see Tim Tebow in a BIlls uni in week 10.
  19. Yea I agree. That fast paced offense will be very dangerous when EJ / Thad are more developed, no question. What so many posters here don't see is that last season Chan Gailey got his offense to work in a very specific way. The QB Fitz would find the open receiver in usually under 3 seconds, so the ball was out very quickly. This mostly negated the pass rush against him. Even then he was hurried and hit quite often so that O line wasn't a good as the stats lead everyone to believe. Gailey also utilized a shotgun-spread offense most of the time, and ran frequently out of that formation. This allowed Spiller to face defense's that couldn't really stack the box because the offense was so spread out. It also allowed Spiller to face only one tackler and to get his 6.0 YPC avg by hitting big plays once he made the first defender miss. That said, this years new OC Nate Hackett seems determined to keep a TE and even a FB in at times to max protect the young QB's. Now, against the NY Jets, who have a top D line and were able to get to EJ quite often because the play of the LG (Colin Brown) was so bad. He graded as one of the very worst players in the NFL thru 5 weeks. Brown has since been replaced by Legursky at LG, so the Bills have a slight upgrade at that position. I'm still not entirely happy with all the players on that O line, and I think at least 3 should be replaced this next year in free agency and the draft. Those young QB's need all the help they can get.
  20. One thing Bills fans need to understand. You have a very, very inexperienced NFL QB's behind center for the Buffalo Bills. If a normal complex offense calls for 30- 50 offensive plays on any given Sunday. You can bet that the Bills game plan will contain only about 20 offensive plays. Now, as the QB gets more experience the playbook will expand as will the play calling. So as the season progresses you will see a more complex offense. They also need to learn that the very best way to protect a young, inexperienced QB is to build a strong running game to take pressure away from him. So stating that, the opposing defense will be stacking the box to first try and stop the run and force the QB to throw to beat them. To those that are stating the Bills offense is very predictable, and almost always open with running plays. Well, they opened the game against the Dolphins with mostly passing plays. First play, Lewis pass play, QB was promptly sacked at the 11 for -5 yards. Second play, incomplete pass to SJ Third play, Lewis short pass left side to F Jackson for 21 yards. Jackson hurt and return questionable Fourth play, Spiller run LG for one yard. Fifth play, Lewis pass to Spiller, short right for -5 Sixth play, Lewis pass incomplete to Choice seventh play, punt. The Bills finished that game with 32 attempts passing and 30 attempts rushing, very balanced and more passing then I thought they would do. They only averaged 3.0 YPC rushing with both Jackson & Spiller playing injured. The difference in this game was with the good play of the Bills defense and the bad play of Miami QB Talleywhacker. Then, any given QB is only as good as his surrounding cast, O Line, WR's, TE's, RB's. Look at 2x super bowl winning NY Giants with Eli Manning at QB this season with no running game, and a bad O line. So you have the 1-6 NY Giants. With almost no good RB this season opposing teams are keying on making Eli throw over and over to win games. The Giants can't run block, can't pass block points for 126. Points against 216 WoW! Eli Manning leads the NFL with 15 INT's. Basically this same team won a super bowl. They have gone thru 6 different RB's and they all are stinking so bad its putting the QB in constant 3rd and longs. Same HC, Same QB, Same WR's, Same Playcaller, Same game plan, and its not working because they can't establish a run game, and they are also having difficulty pass blocking with a bad (injured) O line. So, all of the Bills fans that kept stating that the #1 priority of a team is to find a QB can now look at this, and understand, you had better build the O line first! Or have a running QB, and quick timing passing routes
  21. No offense, but man you have a bad memory! You also stated that that drive resulted in no points when in fact it resulted in a FG. ...beer goggles maybe I have the game recorded, and just re-watched both plays. First play was "play action" off RT. Second play was a shotgun passing fake with a run play up the middle. All ya had to do was actually read my post, or simply follow the link if ya didn't believe me. (5:50) F.Summers right tackle to MIA 43 for 16 yards (J.Jenkins). (5:17) (Shotgun) F.Summers up the middle to MIA 45 for -2 yards (D.Shelby; R.Starks). http://www.cbssports...0131020_BUF@MIA
