  1. Sit back and think a min, those QB's you mentioned were all invited to the NFL combine, and were actually drafted. Tuel was such a project he wasn't drafted by any of the 32 teams. Brady in College won 20-25 games. Beat Arkansas in the Citrus Bowl in 1998, beat Alabama in the Orange bowl in 1999 throwing for 369 yards and 4 TD's. Not exactly a player like Tuel who only won 4 out of 26 games. Obviously the Bills coaches see something in this kid to keep him off the practice squad, and to actually start him in an NFL game his first year. I just don't see it yet, and remain skeptical. Although, these are the very same coaches that thought Colin Brown was a valuable starter at LG right up until they cut him from the team in week five. I'm not advocating cutting him at all, I just don't think he should have been starting just yet.
  2. You are welcome. Happy to provide you with a laugh. My thoughts, asking a kid who won only 4 out of 26 games in college to make a play on 3rd and goal against the #5 defense in the NFL was flat out stupid. Run FJax or Choice and if they don't get the TD then simply kick the FG. I'd have second thoughts at letting Fitz throw on 3rd and one at the goal line. An un drafted rookie FA QB, no way in hell. there was a reason Tuel wasn't invited to the NFL combine or drafted.
  3. Titans DT Albert Haynesworth ...who stepped on a players head with his cleats after a play, when the player had no helmet on. After watching the video shows Albert actually removed the helmet before stomping on Andre Gurode's head!! Suspended for 5 games because of that play. http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=2610577 30 stitches to his face, Gurode should have pressed charges IMO. How that effer was ever able to play in the NFL again is beyond me. http://www.nfl.com/v...th-disqualified Raiders DB Jack Tatum ...nicknamed "the assassin"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEgQARSzaI0
  4. It was entertaining...if you enjoy pulling your hair out over the stupidity of some of the plays. 3rd and goal they let the un drafted FA rookie QB in his first NFL start throw it up for grabs, which he did! Then the coaches blame the QB for the failure of the play. Tuel went won only 4 of 22 starts while in college. Only two ways I put that game in that kids hands, no way & no how.
  5. I would disagree with that if you run the spread formation at the goal line rather then an elephant offense or closed set with TE's & FB in to block. Spiller works best in space.
  6. The Chiefs QB only threw for 124 yards, and the Bills D only allowed 3 FG's on offense in that game. The defense, nor any player on it was the problem against the chiefs. Dunno why anyone is even bringing up the defense. It was allowing the game to be put in the hands of an undrafted FA QB, and then blaming him when he fails. Wonder what changes when the FO runs that thru their new analytic dept?
  7. Couldn't agree more. Many of those games were very winnable this year with No Colin Brown at LG for 5 games, and a decent NFL veteran backup QB. That KC game was very winnable as the Bills D held the Chiefs to 3 FG's, and their QB to 124 yards passing. hilarious, and so true Chan Gailey at least had an experienced NFL QB behind center when he called those moronic plays. You know, like the one where TJ Graham was the primary and Stevie Johnson stated after the game he didn't know why TJ was the primary because he had never run that play in practice. 39 passes for Jeff Tuel when the Bills run game was dominating was flat out moronic, and so Gailey like. On 3rd and goal you don't let the un drafted rookie QB throw it up for grabs and then blame him when he fails. Tuel won 4 of 26 starts in college. So yea, lets put the game in his hands
  8. The Bills don't need to draft another QB just yet. What they do need to do is stop hanging the rookies out to dry, and let the run game & defense win games
  9. JeffTuel was not invited to the NFL scouting combine. won only 4 out of 26 games in college "STRENGTHS - Tuel is a prototype sized quarterback. He throws the ball mechanically well when he sets his feet. He has a quick release and a compact delivery and he makes his throws look effortless. Tuel is semi-accurate throwing the ball to the short area of the field. "WEAKNESSES - Tuel runs a wide-open offense out of the shotgun spread and he doesn't have to read progressions. He has very little arm strength and the ball looks like it has no velocity or revolution to it when it is in the air. The ball seems to float through the air with no drive. There are major concerns about his ability to throw the ball through wind. Tuel tends to throw the ball very high when moving to the left. He has no escape-ability with his feet and he will not make any plays in this aspect of the game in the NFL. Tuel does not feel pressure well and does not throw the ball well into the face of pressure. Tuel lost his job as a senior and there are bound to be questions about this in the pre-draft process. SUMMARY - Jeffrey Tuel is a senior quarterback playing in Mike Leach's spread offense. There are few progressions that he has to read as the pre-snap read is where the ball goes. When he does go through his progressions he seems to make mistakes with the ball as he tries to fit the ball into tight spaces and his arm simply won't allow him to make those throws. Tuel is going to struggle with a few issues that he won't be able to overcome in the NFL. He doesn't have much ability to move and escape pressure and it will only get worse as the players get faster and stronger in the NFL. Tuel lacks good arm strength and will never be able to make all of the throws that he needs to make as an NFL quarterback. He is mechanically sound, has a quick release and a good throwing motion, but the ball doesn't jump out of his hand. Tuel throws a floating football that seems to stay in the air far too long. He doesn't handle pressure very well and will make poor decisions when pressured. Given that he has little arm talent, doesn't have great escape-ability and tends to make poor decisions, Tuel is not a player that should be drafted. Tuel should be a priority free agent in the 2013 NFL draft." http://www.nationalf...ml&player=42701 I remain skeptical that Tuel will ever become a decent NFL QB.
  10. Nick Foles would argue that point. But yea, it would be nice to have an actual experienced NFL backup QB wouldn't it?
  11. Yea, 470 total, and 241 of those were by the Bills RB's averaging 6.3 YPC. How dare that un drafted free agent QB in his first start not make every throw perfectly, and not read the defense like a seasoned pro. 3rd down and goal on the Chiefs one yard line. Yeah, let that rookie QB put it up for grabs...instead of running it one more time, and if that fails, then go for the FG! For crying out loud the Bills D only gave up 3 FG's all game to the Chiefs offense. I don't care what you think, the Bills OC should have a bonfire under his arse for that 3rd down call. I was defending this new OC - HC up until this game. Trying to force Tuel to shoulder the game was even more boneheaded then Gailey ever was with Fitz. I'm not the only one who thinks like this either. "Hackett made costly calls in Buffalo Bills' loss" "Which is why Hackett needed to be smarter on that goal-line cluster of plays. The Bills only needed one yard. Somehow, you've got to find a way to get that one yard." http://www.democrata...-loss-/3428879/ & http://www.buffalone...dgment-20131103 This statement shows me that Marrone is just as boneheaded as Hackett. “Situationally do you question the play call? No,” said coach Doug Marrone. “Do you question the execution of it? Yes.” "But this time, a safer approach would have been more suitable. I would have run the ball on third down. If that failed, I’d have kicked the field goal, gone up by 10 points, and trusted that K.C. couldn’t score 10 against my inspired defense. Instead, they put the game in the hands of a kid who had never started an NFL game. The got cute and committed the cardinal sin of coaching. They put a player in position to fail."
  12. I do believe this is why the Bills let the guy go. He was in therapy for anger management, and probably still needs help. Both players have mental problems it seems.
  13. Answer: FeartheLosing... If I'm OC Nathaniel Hackett I'd be fearing Doug Marrone's shoe up my backside for letting Jeff Tuel throw the ball so much. But then EJ threw it 42 times in that Jets loss. I'm still waiting to see Spiller throw up because he is running it so much. Seriously, the Bills RB's were averaging 6.3 YPC this week, and managed 241 yards on the ground on 38 carries. Yet Jeff Tuel dropped back 41 times to throw.
  14. Chandler was wide open for a big gain and knocked down the pass instead of catching it. Then on the last series of the game he draws a false start killing a down. 41 drop backs for Tuel was about 20 to many IMHO. This play calling with such an inexperienced rookie at QB reminds me of the stupidness of Chan Gailey last season, calling pass play after pass play thinking he had Tom Brady at QB.
  15. Is it to early to start talk about him becoming the Bills new HC? HC Doug Marrone & his OC Nathaniel Hackett have made some very questionable game decisions, player decisions, and play calling decisions. All this off season, this pre season, during games. This team could easily be 6-3 this year if they planned things out differently. Score KC 3 to Bills 10. ON 3rd down, and goal on the KC one yard line bring up any memories to anyone? Just hand it off, and if that fails kick the FG.
  16. Man, I love what this new DC has done to this Bills defense. This week the Bills defense did their job and held the Chiefs offense to 3 FG's!! The Chiefs QB Alex Smith managed their game with 19 of 29 for a measly 124 yards, no TD's, no INT's. In a world where everyone says you need a dominate franchise QB to win games. The Chiefs didn't need a 300 yard passer, or even a 200 yard passer. They didn't have a 100 yard rusher either. The Bills are #3 in sacks in the NFL, #3 in interceptions.
  17. I don't agree. I love the defense and Bills DC Pettine! However, I am starting to really dislike this new Bills OC. The offense continues to drag this team down by trying to force rookie QB's to win the game. Yesterday was a perfect example of this. The Chiefs won with 3 FG's on offense!!Chiefs QB 12 of 29 for 124 yards 0 TD's ,0 INT's.
  18. I wholeheartedly agree. This loss, like many others falls on the shoulders of Bills OC Nathaniel Hackett!! 39 passing attempts in his first NFL start for a kid who won 6 out of 22 college games. BTW Hackett had EJ throw 42 attempts against the Jets in that loss. Last year I thought nobody could be worse then Chan Gailey at calling plays. Man, was I wrong!
  19. Sure, why not. Blame the un drafted FA rookie QB and 2nd year WR. They both make great scapegoats. The Bills OC called a brilliant game! I'm with you Chan Gailey is looking like a genius compared to Hacker
  20. What people need to remember is a power running game with a QB to just manage the game can indeed still win games. For the love of gods green earth simply look at Alex Smith's numbers to see how true that is. 19 of 29 for 124 yards NO TD"S, NO INT"S. The freaking Chiefs offense was held to 3 FG's and still won because the Bills boneheaded OC keeps calling passing plays thinking he has Tom Brady under center, and not an un drafted FA rookie QB making his first NFL start. The Bills run game literally owned that #5 NFL Chiefs defense to the tune of 241 yards rushing, and averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Tuel 39 attempts passing vs 38 rushes.
  21. I was defending the Bills play calling somewhat up until the week. Mostly because the run game & Spiller wasn't working that well. This game against the Chiefs was very winnable and yet mental midget Nate Hackett has the un drafted FA rookie QB throw 39 times in his first NFL start. This was particularly disturbing considering the Bills RB's were averaging 6.3 ypc against that #5 NFL defense. I don't see them beating the Steelers at Pittsburgh, the Jets or the Patriots as long as the Gailey clone play caller keeps thinking he has Tom Brady under center. When in fact he has a rookie so raw it makes Fitz look brilliant. I see 5 winnable games if the Bills OC gets his head outta his backside and runs more - passes less. If not, perhaps 3-4 wins....maybe. This really sucks because this team could have been in the playoffs this year with an OC that actually knew how to build a "successful" NFL running attack.
  22. Heck, I'll criticize him for being a poor QB manager!! Because he most certainly is, and is becoming a Chan Gailey clone by thinking he has a top QB under center and asking them to carry the game and throw more then running it. 2013 Passing attempts 273. vs Rushing attempts 265. EJ, 42 attempts in that Jets game. Now considering how raw and inexperienced his QB's are, he sure leans on them to win games. The most these rookie QB's should be throwing the ball is 20-25 times a game, and not 39+ times a game. Jeff Tuel an undrafted free agent QB threw 39 times last game. That's just nucken futs to try and force a rookie QB to carry the team. especially when you have the talent of Spiller, FJax, Choice, Summers. Some Bills fans have wanted the guy fired for his play calling this season. I'm getting close to that point.
  23. While I like his fire...what I don't like is his OC hanging his QB's out to dry and then throwing them under the bus. Hackett just did that recently by stating that 15 of the 28 sacks are on the QB's. Doug Marrone & Nate Hacket are 100% responsible for all their QB's play. Lets not forget that Tuel is so raw, and such a project at QB its not even funny. Why make the kid throw the ball against that Chiefs defense so many times? C'mon 18 of 39 for 229. one TD, 2 INT's. This is particularly unnerving when the Bills RB's were averaging 6.3 ypc against that vaunted Chiefs D, and rushed for 241 yards When Hackett stated in the off season he was going to run Spiller until he threw up. Remember that line? Well, this week he should have given Spiller, Jackson, Choice the ball 50 times and let Tuel pass about 20-25 times max. When you have an un drafted FA rookie QB making his first NFL start against the #5 defense in the league you don't pull a Chan Gailey, and make the kid the focal point of the offense. Tuel didn't play that badly considering how unpolished he is tho IMO. In college he had 4 wins out of 26 games. There was a reason he was un drafted. I'm fine with Marrone...as long as he plants his foot so far up Hacketts backside it jolts him into actually wanting to run the ball more, and pass less often. I was all for defending the both of them because they are rookies at the NFL level, HC- OC. Heck I even defended Doug Whaley for his choice of LG Colin Brown, and backup guard who have both been cut. These guys are making way to many stupid mistakes this year.
  24. I think so! C'mon man, letting an un drafted rookie FA QB throw 39 times in his first NFL start against the #5 defense. This looks particularly stupid when the Bills RB's were averaging 6.1 yards per carry against that #5 defense. Hackett should have only had Tuel throw 20-25 times vs 50 rushes for Spiller, FJax, Choice, Summers
  25. yep, Buddy Nix came away from that draft patting himself on the back while stating "who says we never trade up". I found that to be hilarious because when the NFL network announced the pick Mike Mayock fumbles thru his sheets and then they went into a commercial. When they returned Mayock stated he had TJ grade as a 5-6 th round pick. * The Bills traded the Redskins for their 3rd (2 picks ahead) & 7th to jump in front of the Jags & Skins Scout.com had TJ as the 31st ranked WR in the draft http://profootball.scout.com/a.z?s=127&p=9&c=12&yr=2012&nid=83&lnid=124&rc=4&pid=16
