  1. I'd have to say the Steelers hiring Doug Whaley away as their new GM. Drafting a CB with the #9 would rank right up there Losing Pettine to Dallas lots 0 crap could happen
  2. and ST coach Danny Crossman among others The Bills need better then Chandler at TE
  3. JP Losman, was his fate sealed before he ever took the field? Ha'Sean "haha" Clinton-Dix, is that as good a Elvis "toast" Patterson?
  4. The man did have the courage of his convictions to dump QB Josh Freeman, and let rookie QB Mike Glennon play. Glennon went 4-9 while completing 59.4 percent of his passes for 2,608 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Even more surprising tho was the Browns only giving the guy they just hired only one year. This after the team trades away the starting RB, and has a revolving door at QB. So, the question is which assistant gets the HCing gig? Norv Turner or Ray Horton?
  5. Top players don't have 180 spins during a season from game to game. Both Pears and Urbik had games were they played good, and then others where they stunk it up badly. They are both decent fill ins for a team to get by with, not for a team that wants to win a playoff game on the road. OTOH Cordy Glenn is a star LT and should have been named to the pro bowl this year IMHO. I still maintain Wood, Glenn are the only two of the five I'd keep as starters for next year.
  6. I always look forward to your "a few thoughts" post every week. I wasn't very optimistic about this years team before this season started as I stated almost all off season. I think that the some of you that know me, then you also know why I was so pessimistic about this years team. Stating that, I still couldn't help but be disappointed in this years team, as I feel they could have finished with a winning season, and be in the playoffs with some different moves in the off season and regular season. I see 4-5 games that could have been won this year had things been different. Chan Gailey a supposed QB guru that never worked with Fitz on his technique or mechanics. Marrone an O line guru that started the season with Colin Brown, Sam Young. A questionable OC, did we see an innovator or just someone that calls a lot of the same running plays over and over? A really bad ST coach, and will this be another George Edwards / Wannstedt type of deal? Anyway, I now have so much more faith in new GM Doug Whaley in some of the players he drafted and brought in, then in any of the people in charge of the past regimes the past decade. Its a good feeling to think that it no longer matters what pick the Bills have. Its knowing that they might finally make the correct choices again this next draft, and in free agency to make this team better. Happy new year to you and yours Bill, as well to all the other Bills fans.
  7. Smoot: It’s Broiler Time for ‘The Red Lobster’ a.k.a. Mike Shanahan http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/11/12/smoot-its-broiler-time-for-the-red-lobster-if-skins-lose-to-eagles/ Yep, Skins HC Mike Shanahan FIRED!
  8. Vikings HC Lesie Frazier FIRED
  9. Not only was the draft so much different then anything we have seen the previous decade. The Bills also acquired CB Nickell Roby, DT Alan Branch 39 tackles & LBer Jerry Hughes 10 sacks, 42 tackles. Plus the addition of S Jim Leonhard, QB Thad Lewis, PK Dan Carpenter, back up C Doug Legurski helped a great deal during the year. Signed Eric Woods & Branch to extensions So yea, I'm very confidant in Doug Whaley as the Bills GM going forward. Just not so confidant in Doug Marrone, and some of his assistant coaches. ST Crossman & OC Hackett
  10. They could easily fix both the offense and defense this off season. OG, OT, TE, OLB, DT, WR The Bills improved both the D line with Branch and pass rush with Hughes last off season. Plus, CB Nickell Roby, PK Dan Carpenter, back up QB Thad Lewis. So Its not unreasonable to think that the Bills could also upgrade other positions in a similar fashion.
  11. You guys didn't get to watch that 19-0 Miami game? This new DC has kept the Bills is so many games this season and has been a godsend to the defense. Particularly when you consider what the Bills had as DC's the last 3 years under Gailey. I can see next years defense being even better, and perhaps a top 5-10 unit
  12. The Bills tried talking with Cowher before they hired Buddy Nix, and he obviously didn't take the job for several reasons. Sometime after the interview with the Bills FO Cowher stated in the media if he were to return to the NFL it would be to a team with an already established decent starting QB, as it took him so long to finally get Big Ben in Pittsburgh. Then you would have to think if he won a power struggle in Pitt with the then GM Tom Donahoe, that Cowher would want control over personnel decisions in his next team. So, its not just the 8 mill required to snatch the guy away from his 3+ mill a year TV gig. Besides, this current Buffalo Bills owner would NEVER, EVER pay 8 mill for a HC. To those that think Cowher is underrated. Just look at the history of the Steelers winning under Cowher from 1992 to 2006 with so many complete scrubs at QB for so many years. In his 15 years with Pitt Cowher had only 3 losing seasons with a .623 % He is the anti Buffalo. 9 division titles. Big Ben didn't get drafted until 2004. BTW, Dick LeBeau didn't become the Steelers DC until 2004, Cowhers last year as HC was in 2006. With a top NFL HC like Cowher running this team since 2010 I could easily see the Buffalo Bills winning the division the last two years.
  13. And with defensive coordinators who are old buds with the HC.... as with Gailey and his good ole boys George Edwards / Dave Wannstedt I would hope Brandon has Marrone on a short leash after another abysmal 6-10 season. Especially, when it was obvious that the team could have been much, much better if certain areas were addressed properly.
  14. It wasn't Brady that just tore the Bills a new one, it was BB and his ability to exploit a weakness in a defense. The Bills D just allowed the Patriots 4th string RB 24 rushes for 189 yards, 2 TD's. Brady was almost a non factor with only 122 yards passing in that rainstorm. I can see both Talleywhacker and Geno getting better with a better run game to support them. So I can see both the Jests & Phins going all out for offense in this years draft, as should the Bills.
  15. People keep spouting that you can't win without a great QB. Tom Brady 14 / 22 for 122 yards and a TD. Patriots rushing 270 yards, Blount 24 attempts 189 yards 2 TD's
  16. game over....dagger by running it
  17. why on earth did Marrone think his special teams could make an on sides work?
  18. ahh well, it really was a foregone conclusion with this years team. I gotta wonder what happens If Marrone refuses to make changes on his staff
  19. TJ Graham jumps up to knock the ball out of his own hands...
  20. we can only dream.... Marrone won't fire his best friends
  21. Not me, he would be walking kinda funny after this game with my boot in his keester, then I'd fire him.
  22. Another great play by the Bills special teams...do they ride in a short bus with Crossman?
  23. forget double coverage on the Pats best receiver, they went with no coverage
