  1. My fiance and I are heading to Boston this weekend for the Zac Brown Band concert at Fenway. We will be staying at a friend's house in Springfield Friday night and then in Boston Saturday and Sunday. Concert is Sunday night. Here's some suggestions I've compiled so far, please let me know if you've had positive/negative experiences with any: 1. Sam Adams Brewery Tour 2. Fanueil Hall Marketplace (Quincy Market) 3. Cheers Original (better than replica I've heard?) 4. Mike's Pastry Shop 5. La Familia Giorgio's 6. Bleacher Bar (Bills Backers Bar?) 7. Cask-n-Flagon 8. Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, I guess they have a cool interactive re-creation. I've also heard that the Boston Duck Tours are pretty cool. Any of you TBD'ers have any other recommendations for restaurants, attractions, tours, etc.?
  2. What is this, a center for ants?!?!?!
  3. When I was a kid, Barry Sanders. Now, Peyton Manning. I have a lot of respect for Andrew Luck, too. Kid gets it, and he's going to be good for a long time.
  4. Aqueous, a local band from North Tonawanda will be opening for them. They've been getting popular in the Northeast and they play a good live show. They're music isn't totally my cup of tea but I appreciate their talent. Get there early and check them out if you get a chance. Their lead guitarist, Mike, shreds.
  5. First two seasons of Prison Break were pretty good IMO. Some corny and predictable parts but that comes with the long seasons.
  6. Amazon music is free if you're a prime member. Selection is somewhat limited depending on what you like, but it does seem to be getting better. Pandora, Youtube, and the occasional torrent download are also key.
  7. Twitter is the best for news, sports, and other related information. It really is great for real time updates. Same here.
  8. Good Guys is a small take-out place in North Tonawanda. The owners are ex-managers of Pizza Junction so it's similar but better IMO. Their blue cheese is the best too. I've never really heard anyone dislike Bocce, but to each his own.
  9. Agreed. Bocce, La Nova, and Good Guys are all within 10 miles from my house. All are fantastic. I also make a damn good pizza if I do say so myself. He is right in the article though, the dough makes the pie.
  10. Golfing. One of my favorite activities. I'm a long ways from retirement but when I get there, golf will be on the agenda most days.
  11. I went to the duty free on the Canadian side on my way back and had no problem. You can probably bring 2 bottles back over duty-free, but the other bottles are subject to the duty. They still didn't charge me, probably didn't wanna worry about the paperwork. "Anything to claim?" "Yeah, I stopped at the duty-free." <ready to hand over receipt> "What'd you buy?" "Just alcohol." "Have a nice day."
  12. Hit up the Duty Free on the way back. You will not be disappointed. I just picked up 13 bottles of premium liquor for $202.00 US. Crown Royal was $17/ Litre. As opposed to Premier where it's $37/Litre. I claimed everything at the border and all he said was, "Have a nice day." I didn't have to pay any duties.
  13. Big Ditch Brewing Co. Brand new brewery just opened up downtown on the corner of Ellicott and E. Huron in Buffalo. The head brewer is the brother of a very good friend of mine. They've been working on this for almost 5 years and has finally opened. The beer is fantastic and of the highest quality. I haven't had a chance to try the food yet (going there Saturday) but knowing these guys, everything will be great. Any locals interested in trying out a new restaurant/brewery, give it a try! The Hayburner IPA is by far my favorite. http://bigditchbrewing.blogspot.com/2015/05/our-tap-room-is-open-and-other.html?m=1 http://www.bigditchbrewing.com/
  14. Some great concerts coming to ArtPark this year. One of my favorite concert venues, especially during sunset. Check out OAR and John Butler Trio coming in July.
  15. American Shorthair (I think). Was a stray that my buddies and I found outside our apartment one drunk night. She was extremely skinny and frail. Took her in that night and she slept with my roommate. Woke up the next morning and had completely forgot about it. She's been around ever since. Awesome cat, couldn't have gotten any luckier.
  16. Took a 9-5 summer job at a small company, while also working nights at a pizzeria about 8 years ago. Turns out they were changing locations just at about the time I started working there. Instead of working a line/production job like I thought, I started moving all their furniture, supplies, inventory, loading trucks etc. I didn't mind because the work made the day go by fast and I was getting a good workout. Next, they started doing demolition to the new building. So now I was tearing down dry wall, ceiling tiles, insulation, etc. So I was getting paid a little more than minimum wage to do a demolition job. I went camping and took a long weekend off. Never went back the next week, didn't care either because the manager was a d-bag.
  17. I still have my white Spielman. Got it when I was probably 8-9 years old.
  18. $1.99/lb packs of chicken breasts all the time. That alone dominates any other grocery store around here. Strip steak and ground turkey/chicken prices are also always pretty good.
  19. I haven't read thru every page of this, but I read on Twitter last night that Clay's catches, yards, and TDs from last year would all set season records for a Bills TE.
  20. I live in the north towns but everyone that's moved down to Elmwood, Allentown, etc. has not looked back. If you can, try to get near the Elmwood district, tons of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. My fiancee and I will head down on a Saturday afternoon, check out a brewery, go to happy hour at a local bar, and then dinner at a fancy place within 5 minutes walking distance.
  21. He was? I remember him getting mauled by OL on a regular basis.
