  1. and if that was a disqualification for playing in the NFL, there would be a lot of empty roster spots. you dont know half the trouble the current Bills get into because they get off bc of who they are, ask anyone in the OPPD or BPD.
  2. sorry wasnt saying you were wrong just what i thought. What you found is interesting though.
  3. Im not sure they are allowed to up the offer, can only match.
  4. Maybe if he doesnt show on monday. Voluntary is voluntary.
  5. hahahah i should be specific i meant that in reference to lynch. the colts won a super bowl - marvin harrison shot a man Ravens - ray lewis killed a guy i want to win, and yes you need character but the best players aren't always the nicest guys.
  6. So? Im looking for the best football players not a bunch of choir boy Eric Woods
  7. 100 better sub places? youre wrong and thats a stupid comment. There are better sub places for sure. But the fact of the matter is that you can get a damn good sub at a friggin grocery store which happens to be a well respected place for their quality etc. People who arent near one drive 45 mins to shop there (see DC area folks). You dont like wegmans thats cool but you cant name 25 better sub shops i bet
  8. but marshawn is a ghetto thug, so freddy must be better
  9. There are plenty of places on chip where people who fit that description frequent. I have taken out of town friends DT who also do not fit that description who have a great time. Especially if you arent from a city that has a party district.
  10. Ignore this if you are from out of town. Over generalization.
  11. last few years ? he was off last year no bones about it. He's a productive NFL RB, and wihtout him this team has a 29 yr old running back and a rookie scat back. Some toughness running wont hurt, no one will care about OTAs if he produces on the field during the regular season.
  12. Most teams do this, even at the collegiate level. These are designed to take advantage of certain things, show formations and see how the Defense will react adjust to said formations.
  13. well said... sometimes some of these hard line posts remind me of the south park "they took er jobs" episode. Managing a pro sports team isnt similar to most peoples jobs on this board. The teach him a lesson etc just doenst work. There are egos to be managed and you cant just get another RB. To those saying ML is an avg NFL running back, youre mistaken. He's simply not avg. And no NFL GM is content going into a season with a 29 yr old running back and a rookie scat back.
  14. Thats what training camp and preseason are for, to see what a guy has. They arent going to "give" Brohm a season just to see what he has. They are going to play the best QB they have to win games.
  15. Except some owners derive most of their income from the NFL, like jerry jones (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ys-forbesnflowners012108) Are fans going to flock to his new stadium to watch scrubs? are they going to buy jerseys with some scrub name on it ? NO that is why the owners dont just lock out the players and move on.
  16. i didnt originally bring those two up, just using the example put forth by others. There are many good sack players that dont measure up that are better than schobel, J. Allen J Taylor Pepper Freeney strahan etc Schobel didnt make the players around him better, he wasn't in that class. he was a very good player for the Bills for 9 seasons.
  17. Not really, Bruce and others didnt play their whole career on playoff contenders with great Defense around them. Its too easy of an argument to say schobel is better then we think bc his team sucked. Great players make the players around them better. Jason taylor for example has racked up sacks on some pretty bad teams.
  18. Yes i couldn't agree more. We arent losing a game breaking sack man; especially considering the change in defensive scheme.
  19. Haha, the guy averaged 8.5 sacks a year. Sack masters like White and Smith were averaging 11 and 12 sacks per year in their first 9 years (how long aaron played). Look through Smiths years, he racked up sacks almost every game with 3 or 4 multi sack games, usually 2 a game in those. SO its not horrible reasoning, just not simplistic analysis which seems to be the hallmark of many posters on here.
  20. i agree with your other points. My point is there a difference in a stat guy and a great player. Schobel was a solid player with great stats. He's a good guy to have on your team, esp when lacking for other sack guys. But 3 sacks in a blowout loss is not a great day, its just how schobel was, gets some sacks that dont really affect the outcome of the game. As to his leadership? im not sure where this is coming from, I dont recall any bills saying his leadership will be missed....which is usually what you hear in these situations (cue some of you googling for 20 mins to prove me wrong). Like i said, Schobel was prickly, he did his job and went home.
  21. why is eeryone saying he was so classy? im not saying he was classless but he was neither friendly nor nice. He was a good DE but was kind of not that important the last 4 seasons. Last years 10 sacks arent a big deal, he racked up 3 sacks in the ATL game we were getting romped in. THe guy picked up stats in game situations that meant nothing, maybe he couldve received more appreciation if the team did better, but they didnt. maybe a few timely sacks instead of garbage time couldve changed that.
  22. yawn.... This guy was always prickly and was never a game changer in my book. He did manage to rack up some unimportant sack numbers.
  23. That is some circular reasoning. Spending money on something the small business guy produces does stimulate wealth. More people buying stuff produced by someone else does nothing? How do resort communities survive? they dont produce anything, just provide an outlet for spending?
