Some very pointed opinions on the Bills:

Heres a pointed response: Bell over Lynch -- right.... Bell runs well against backups so trade your proven RB for a late round pick. You should apply for a GM job. I would really like to see you throw the ball 60 yards and hit a WR in stride. So have a friend of yours videotape you throwing a football that far and post a link to the youtube clip. CJ Spiller, will not and is not your #1 RB. He will be used in different situations and formations. I dont think we will see a true #1 RB on this team.. 3 very different backs. -
well yea, TE makes a good throw on completely blown coverage for a TD....aside from that nothing to get excited about. A solid performance by him and BB. TE did take a good shot and get back up but i think we are excited bc normally he shares genes with Tim Connolly and gets knocked out but instead on this play he gets back up. Again, thats a hit you should get up from. BB - great velocity, poise, but missed some real opportunities to create a QB controversy. You wanna be a #1 NFL qb you gotta hit one of those fades, there was room toward the sideline. Granted, one of those ....to the top of the TV screen was flat out dropped. TE is still #1, BB prob takes #2 for now.
-
There's no controversy. BB did not challenge TE for the starting spot.
-
BB looked unpolished but made some solid throws. That being said, he missed plenty of chances with poor throws. I wasnt impressed with TE either btw so im not playhing favorites.

Will the QBs be used how? + ;)

THis board is noticeably missing Brohm threads after his performance last night. -
Really? maybin ran with the backups and only got garbage time play. he wasnt making plays against the backups. Just dancing around after he made tackles downfield. looked foolish to me. Not encouraging.
-
Hes got a point, OL needs work, and a frachise QB is not on this roster. The only reason Brohm has so much enthusiasm behind him is that we've seen so little of him and therefore people have hope. Well, be prepared for failure tonight. Brohm wont do much to improve his stock. If anything id say watch for Spiller to have a good game.

TBN: Brohm must stay on target in Bills QB bid
K Gun Special replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yea but i think we would get the impression we had something special at QB regardless. Thing is our oline isnt that great but neither are the QBs no matter what excuse we think of. Fact remains that these arent great qb's being victimized by the pass protection. -
what? no. i dont know where you are getting this from but most people with this injury dont get it again.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp...tory?id=5474827 he had a sports hernia, which is micro tears in groin. Not a shearing tear like a hammy or pec but it becomes really sore and cant be rehabbed. Surgery is required. I had a bad one so recovery was 8 weeks. his is prob smaller so think 4-6
-
good thing they took the TVs out of the weight room and have been doing squats..........morons. I had the same injury that Byrd has and had. I had the surgery performed by the same doc who does NFL and NHL players. Lemme tell ya you never feel the same after,

Gailey's thoughts on Brohm's strengths

when your 2nd round QB doesnt make the team in his 2nd year.... i think hes a bust, at least for GB perhaps not the NFL. -

I was referring to guys who were busts then cut/released then became franchise QBs. My original point was why people were so big on BB.... i was really asking not putting him down. -

Great info. Those players are a little before my time and seems like it hasnt happened since the 80's. I'd say thats a pretty rare occurrence. -

No proclaimations about Brohm, he hasnt shown anything at all, good or bad really. i guess its just unfounded optimsim is a practice squad QB. Maybe he's the chroise part duex. -

No year 1 is not a bust, ive said it on other threads. Obviously he performed so poorly at GB that he was relegated to the practice squad.... not something you do with someone with obvious talent. If GB thought he was just learning they wouldve let him ride it out a la peyton manning etc. They didnt. He hasnt been able to overshadow TE ( who i dont like) even though theyve had the same amount of time learning the plays and had equal reps in OTA. Just watch, thurs night he wont show much (hard for any QB) and you will all be singing a different tune. -

Warner wasnt a castoff. He was in NFL europe before coming to NFL, and only becmae a starter after Green wwent down. My point remains, i can think of no current starter in the NFL, let alone a franchise QB, who was a bust or failed with one team only to turn it around with another. Brohm was a good QB for a mid major college. He sucked in GB and was on the practice squad before we got him. Hopefully, he can outperform what we've seen from any of our QBs so far. But the odds are he wont. -

So basically its just blind faith in another teams castoff? Can anyone name one franchise QB who failed with one team but was reborn on another:? -

Im not knocking him but i mean we got this guy off of a practice squad, he was a high round bust. why the optimism? i would think there would be more regarding brown over brohm. -

can i ask a serious question? I dont have a favorite QB in this race. But what exactly are people seeing in Brohm? What is all the optimism based on? -

Understood. Trent is relatively accurate in short to medium throws. I havent seen too much of Brohm to compare. If Brohm shines tomorrow i wouldnt be surprised to see him get more reps. With this Line and WR corps its gonna be a big task. -

gailey > gaughn Accuracy is huge, much smaller windows in the NFL than at Louisville. If you cant hit your spots it doesnt matter if you have a huge arm and you arent much good to the team as a QB. -
Bears need a backup to Cutler
K Gun Special replied to DanInSouthBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
orrrrr they just wait until we cut him or brohm................... -
Yea the line needs some talent but so does the QB position. NO won the super bowl with backup lineman, even at LT.
