  1. or another small time conference player of the year who will make no impact.
  2. Im not questioning his character or leadership, by all accounts hes a hard worker who doesnt take plays off, hes durable and the players respect him. I dont necessarily have a problem resigning him either. But my problem is at $5 million you should be getting a damn solid OLB. Look at other OLBs earning $5 million and they are impact players who get more than 4 tackles and zero sacks per game. Perhaps the plan is and was to sign him then cut him once a palatable replacement is added to the roster.
  3. yea 4 solos per game this year, hes really worth the money. Just give it up no one is going to go along with your blind defense of kelsay's contract. He's not worth that money no matter how you try to slice it. $5 million plus per year for a guy who averages 4 or 5 tackles a game and 0.1 sacks cmon now. He never makes an impact.
  4. as of right now i dont see a franchise QB in the draft and that worries me, a lot. i see some good QBs with some big time flaws. ugh
  5. Exactly, and yes it would. Obviously if they select a QB they are confident in their pick. No pick is a guarantee unfortunately. But some people are underestimating how difficult it is to get a top QB. Most top QBs are drafted in the first round wiht some being in 2 and 3.
  6. +1. That post was completely opinionated and shielded from reality.
  7. They would still need a QB....... and the bills would still be the laughingstock.... With the #2 pikc in the NFL draft the Bills trade the pick to so and so for 2 OL . Quick tell me what team is going to trade 2 franchise caliber OL for a #2 pick? because you better be getting franchise players for that high of a pick.
  8. your conclusion in the OP are opinions too.
  9. a so called good oline wont look good with a scrub QB..... first and foremost to turning the franchise around (player wise) is getting a QB
  10. cue the responses " - let see what he can do - cant hurt - he looked good in preseason - get er done chan - he was really good at louisville - Bills offer was matched by GB
  11. Ohhhhh i thought kelsay suck but then i read he got 9 points in your fantasy league. My kicker got more than that. But kelsays 4 tackles and 1 assist show that you are right thats hes totally deserved a 4 year contract extension. whats that .... two of his tackles came in the second half when the game was basically over.... meaning he had two tackles when it counted.
  12. ITs funny to watch how reactionary this msg board is on a weekly basis. When Gailey was hired, everyone on here was demanding we switch to a 3-4 defense, personnel be damned. Some, including myself, were saying its not so easy and you need to have the players to play in the scheme. We were told that by people on this baord that these guys are athletes and can simply adjust, no big deal. Well not only are you seeing subpar talent, you are seeing that talent play in a scheme they arent suited for. Gailey wants to run the 3-4 and is doing the best with what hes got. If you notice they arent running a base 3-4 very often bc they dont have the horses to do it. quick, name one playmaker in the front 7..... cant? oh yea because there arent any and a scheme isnt gonna change that.
  13. kelsay 4 tackles...... pretty much his career average. Good job Nix.
  14. this didnt need its own thread with a stupid title. btw when you have to say "its official" it probably isnt official and makes you look silly.
  15. actually the knocks on Mallet are his footwork and throwing motion. He is not great with his feet and has a pretty long delivery. Luck is better in both of those categories.
  16. not more of this Brohm garbage. He's shown absolutely nothing to suggest he is a long or short term answer at QB. He was good in college but has shown slow progress at the NFL level. Can we leave this alone until he actually plays and we have something more to go on?
  17. hopefully he didnt hurt himself making that phone call.
  18. Fair point, but until we know the actual guaranteed amount.......
  19. I wasnt on the player side, pal. And i still do work for that particular team so i was able to "cut it" quite well.
  20. Hes not terrible but hes average. Still i have yet to see a comparable OLB get his kind of money; unless the goal is to lock him up with almost no guaranteed $$ until they find a replacement i dont see how this is a good move.
  21. bc your statements continue to be logically inconsistent. You start off by praising kelsay bc you cant replace everyone in one year, when none of the guys you listed were going to leave. just now you say the board is group think at its worst bc people pile on the herd. So the group hates the herd which is not a group?
  22. Actually i do, i deal with them on a daily basis and have negotiated some at the professional sports level. But really, keep going.
  23. The market set by other OLBs has no relevance? really? Im not sure we should be listening to you then bc that is how all contracts are negotiated. You cannot find comparable players to Kelsay earning as much as he is, nor can you find similar players earning slightly less to support your 'we have to overpay argument'
