Why are we underdogs against the cards??

Regardless almost every interview I've heard or seen with any Bills player they keep saying they like being the underdog coming into games. So why not let them keep underestimating us if the players would rather have it that way? -
IMO hes growing his beard out as a message to the management, his train of thought; "If I look like a Bear maybe ill get that trade to Chicago ..."
