Don't worry about it. Since the Superbowl is in SF this year it's an absolute lock for them to make it. I live in Sacramento and that's about a 2 hr drive to Santa Clara. I have suffered through 25+ yrs of heartbreak so you see the stars are aligned and I as well as all of you will be rewarded this year. You can all crash at my house for a giant Superbowl party before we take a charter bus to Levi Stadium. I can see it all now...

My thought is that Roman is in a win win. He will defer to Rex as these decisions shape Rex's future here not Roman's who will likely be gone soon for a HC vacancy.

If they are smart yes and cut Cassel he can't make that much money to hold a clip board. Also this is good for EJ as it's possible TT gets banged up during the season and I would feel good about EJ coming in.

I don't see a big difference in Cassel and EJ ability wise if anything EJ has a better overall skill set. The idea is that Cassel is a better game manager veteran experience etc. I don't understand why Cassel has bounced around so much since he has everything you want in a qb... ( sarcasm) If they want TT to start because he brings the mobility the other two don't have I get that. But if it's Cassel they want there is no way I start him over EJ . EJ's ceiling is way higher and we already know what Cassel has he won't get any better. just this man's 2 cents

Sal Maiorana's article about EJ starting in the D&C he states that EJ is coming from Behind and is in third place in the competition. When was this announced by the coaching staff? Speculation is one thing as well as opinion but for the media to just flat out make a statement like this as fact is complete bullcrap.I think it's unfair for these media types to paint this picture of EJ.I didn't want to believe it but it sure looks like they are trying to bury this kid.

See this man knows. That pass was money perfectly placed.Give EJ a half with the starters. I know Rex Ryan is a TT honk. It's obvious. But if Ryan truly trusts Roman as his OC he should let Roman make the qb call. I think Roman can do alot with EJ. I get that Taylor is mobile and has "that magic" but EJ was in an offense that was a complete joke last year with an OC that was using bottle caps and drawing pathetic plays int he dirt. run run and throw on 3rd and long sucks no matter who the QB is. I bet Roman can do alot with EJ's skill set and the eye test tells me he got better this summer. My vote is EJ and if he get's a shot with the ones in this third preseason and has a good outting than he will DESERVE to start...my two cents

After reading Ryan's comments on BB.com I have a feeling EJ has already been named the starter. Here's why: Ryan said When we give EJ time I think he's terrific. Well one of EJ's knocks coming into this season was he was slow making reads and decisions Could it be they have him running with the 3's cause Ryan Roman and Co. Know EJ will not have alot of time and be forced to make a read and fire quicker to develop him? Just a thought but I'm throwing it out there. I think they named him starter already behind closed doors.

If Rex is a man of his word Give EJ the start in game 3 with the ones and making the starter decision immediately after game3

If he's just a warm camp body what's the point. Sign a few street free agent backs and trot them out there. I can't see him beating out a much younger Williams so it's not like he'll stick. He's got to blow everyone's doors off in practice. I'm not seeing that happening.He would of been in an NFL camp by now. Negative PR is not worth the return with this fine upstanding citizen.

I've been the biggest EJ honk this training camp but it kind of looks like he won't start. but that's just this fan's opinion. who knows what's really going in in the coaching staff's minds. Great kid but as hard as it is for me to say he had a shot to be more consistent with a clean slate this offseason. He has not taken advantage of his opportunity.

Amen. These sideline reporters can report what they see and add their two cents but they haven't the slightest clue what decision the coaches will make.
