  1. Overdorf is the contract negotiator and Cap guy not the one pulling all the strings.
  2. So explain to me how Owens, Evans and Jackson contributed to giving up 12 points in 5 minutes. Fred Jackson played his butt off. You are an idiot. McKelvin screwed up period.... don't blame those guys
  3. Ok...This cracks me up...Once again we have the constant we should sign any named player that is on the trading block or released and the Kelsay bashing. Most people act like Kelsay is some sort of panzy. Actually he plays hard all the time. He is not a speed rusher and never was in college at Nebraska. he plays hard ALL of the time and yes he doesn't always get to the QB but he plays the run solid and is a decent player. This anti kelsay crap is just that... crap.
  4. Yeah, great Bills fans, boo when the only owner the team has ever had is enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Buffalo is not in the NFL w/out him period. If you want to protest then don't watch the games, go to the games or buy the merchandise. You are calling a man who gives countless dollars to charities and anonymously helps people a loser. Hold your heads high you are great human beings. Times have been tough for Bills fans but the Ralph bashing is ridiculous.
  5. This is a great thread. I believe we all have disdain for Godlichek. He is a cheater, that is true. I think he's a good coach who got lucky with Brady (the tuck rule), and timing. He made the most out of his lucky breaks. From that success he built this aura around him that everything he did was genius. He never gets called out when he makes a coaching error and showed very little class when losing the superbowl to the Giants. Didn't show alot of class running up the score on teams that year either. The tide will turn someday.
  6. Something I didn't say in my previous reply... the very thing that made Kelly great, the thinking that he could always make the perfect pass or read and never having fear to fail were things that made him retire. His brain was telling him to do things his body couldn't do anymore. He could still read defenses he just couldn't react as fast. He was the type of guy that didn't know how to adjust his game as his skills eroded because his pride wouldn't let him. But that moxie is what made him Jimbo. It was his time to go.
  7. OK.... He was done.... the concussions he sustained that we don't know about. The knee injuries he had when he came back early, the shoulder injury in the Pittsburgh game when he got shot up just to return to the game. Unfortunately, that wasn't a fumble in the Jacksonville play off game but it was called one and he didn't need to go out that way. He would have needed a great O-line to play much longer than he did. I remember marchibroda trying to get him to play for the Ravens. Jim Kelly was a complete warrior but he was done, he never cheated us as fans but he was done. He played the game right.
  8. Do you mean "one trick pony"? This board used to be optimistic and a place where people could gather information and talk about bad calls, devastating losses and exhilarating wins. Now there is so much info. on the net that everybody feels they are an expert. Everybody has an opinion and a right to share it. I think most people here want to believe. You make your opinion seem like fact and as if you know how everything is going to play out. As for selling out the Ralph... the fact that this upsets you if we are mediocre and sell out is ridiculous. It means we are not band wagon jumpers and are faithful to our team. I am proud we sell the place out. Wilson spends money but as a major proponent of revenue sharing he can't run around signing crazy free agent contracts and acting frivolous. When things go bad we call our owner cheap. Have you seen how cheap seasons tickets are for the Bills compared to other NFL cities? As for the "one trick pony" If that one trick pony comes in on passing downs comes of the edge and sacks the QB 6-10 times this year, I'll take it.
  9. Good point, I remember some really bad games where field position was consistently poor. if you look up the stat let me know. Thanks
  10. OK.... you deserve the multiple bars of soap in the pillow case treatment for this thread and that kind of thinking. BTW, that sort of reasoning is why we went with Rob Johnson instead of Flutie 10 years ago. I never really had a problem with 200 yds passing 1 or 2 TD's and a win. It's about wins, losses and being a leader. Judge him on those things this year. This other garbage is all about the fantasy football generation. Also, have you ever figured that the Bills have had drive starts that are better than the norm b/c of ST and they don't have to go as far to score.
  11. The stadium is in great shape... definitely long lines for bathrooms during end of quarter and 1/2 but what do you expect? It's not a dump it's well maintained and well kept. They could probably re -pave the lot but what's the use when somebody is lighting a 20 ft. bon fire on the pavement. I live in KC have season tickets to the Bills and when I bring friends back they are in awe of the experience. In short.... the people make the stadium.
  12. I have heard him talk about being a Bills fan back in the early 90's etc.. on the air. He talks about tennis way too much.
  13. I think he realizes you joined on March 1. That's why he said go back to February and decide not to join the board. That really is an assinine opinion that the Bills will be in Toronto based on this draft. You should expect criticism when you say things like that.
  14. you should get crucified.... so we are all to believe that someone important @ OBD would tell friends on the street that management believes the team doesn't have a prayer this year? That my friend is a great way to sell tickets. Give me a break. That makes no sense. How or why would any organization give up on a season before it starts and start telling people so they will skip the games? Why don't you give us a plausible and credible rumor... like the Bills will re-sign Jason Whittle sometime in the near future for OL depth?
  15. The Rob Johnson trade did not set Buffalo back. The salary cap set Buffalo back. Flutie could have played another 2 or 3 years with Buffalo and done fine. The salary cap and high paid aging superstars set them back. Giving up a # 1 pick for Rob Johnson at that time was seen as reasonable and the impact from not having that pick was minimal. Sam Cowart was their 2nd round pick and he was a steal in round 2.The mistake was made when Donahoe chose Johnson over Flutie.
  16. 1. On third down Brady will escape the pocket and when he spots a defender coming to hit him he will fall to the ground at the last possible second, the defender will not be able to avoid him and hits him. Brady will whine and cry. The refs will therow a flag for a late hit or roughing the passer. The third down stop will be a first down etc... 2. The announcers will talk about how Godlicheck recently created a new defense and how he is the greatest coach of all time 3. The announcers will tell us that Teddy Bruschi just made a fantastic tackle after taking a stiff arm to the chops and accidentally tripping up the Bills offensive player 4. The announcers will talk about the incredible history of the Patriots, failing to mention the years they were a door mat, how their former owner was bankrupt, how there was talk of relocation and how the NFL helped build their new stadium. 5. At some point there will be some strange call or play that benefits the Pats. We as viewers and Bills fans will not understandwhy it happened. If you ask me... I think this is the best time to play the Pats at home. No film on TO and offensive tweaks. Brady's knee still may not be perfect and he will not have played for a year. Bills should also be highly motivated on Monday night
  17. This is a stupid comment. Old news as well. They got rid of the clown that Mularkey brought in. Current strength and conditioning guy John Allaire tutored under Rusty Jones and has a similar philosophy and uses similar techniques. Do your homework and know your team before you say stupid things.
  18. You are ridiculous.... # 1 Peters is going no where. It's called negotiating. Hangartner is an upgrade over Fowler or Preston. Langston Walker played damn good last year, as did Brad Butler. We obviously need another guard and some depth. Ease up you sound like an idiot and make reading these posts aggravating. Most people read these for information not to listen to uneducated viewpoints. Last year we were suppossedly a team on the rise, a year way. We pretty much ended up where most people thought, between 7-9 andf 9-7. We were in every AFC East game and pretty much every game. Sooo. contrary to the media and people who have jumped off the ledge we probably will be better next year. Supposedly the schedule is harder next year but supposedly Miami was going to stink this year. You can never tell how those things play out.
  19. You have a choice.... don't watch and don't be a fan.... the complaining is ridiculous
  20. So... signing Laverneus Coles was the key to making us better on offense this off season? You're kidding right? The Bills will only win 5 games b/c we failed to sign Laverneus Coles in the off season? I think you, like many are over estimating his impact on the team or any team. He'd be a nice pick up, nothing more, nothing less. I really don't think they have to jump at every big name, past their prime free agent that comes around. This is ridiculous. Mellow out
