  1. If you really believe that Wilson or Nassib is a franchise QB, why would you trade down and risk another team taking them? I'm not sure how good either guy will be, but if the bills like one of them they better take them at 8.
  2. You are actually wrong. Listen to Sirius NFL radio. Right now there are mixed opinions on Nassib. Some think he is a top of the draft guy and others think he does not belong in the first round. I don't know if he will be any good, but I would not be shocked if he goes in the top 10. Time will tell. It seems like the Southern QBs at the senior bowl practices are doing well.
  3. He is a great player, but I think we are spinning our wheels if we let Levitre walk then draft a guard to replace him. I have the feeling the best player available is going to be a pass rushing DE. There is a lot of depth at that position and I would have no problem if the bills drafted a guy to start opposite of Mario. Yes I know they gave Anderson big money. It seems like the South QBs stock is on the rise, so maybe the bills get a QB.
  4. QB has been the biggest need since the retirement of Jim Kelly. You have to assemble an amazing roster to win a super bowl without a very good QB.
  5. Here is my prediction. Step 1: The bills cut Fitzpartrick Step 2: The bills reach for a QB in the first round, but since the QB they drafted is not a top talent he and the bills struggle. Step 3: The bills the following year have a top 5 draft pick and there is a very good QB prospect available when they are on the clock, but they pass because you can't give up on last year's first round pick after just one season. Step 4: The bills have a 2nd consecutive horrible season under Marone and realize that their 2013 first round pick is not going to make it. Step 5: Marone and his staff will be fired after their 3rd season on the job. Bills fans become optimistic that the new coach will turn the franchise around. God willing I'm wrong about this.
  6. If they can get Alex Smith then fine, but I do not feel there will be a better free agent QB than Fitzpatrick available. I also believe that there is a strong possibility that the bills will be unable to find a QB in the draft who can win games immediately. So what is Marone going to do, win 4 games and hope that the fans and management find it acceptable. As a first time head coach, Marone needs to succeed fairly soon. He might never get another chance. Are you serious? Did he not get a first round QB and high pick for Kolb? Didn't he get a high pick for Feely? Why did they get high picks for these guys? They got high picks because they played great for coach Reed.
  7. I think the chiefs are taking the right approach. As much as they would love to draft a frachise QB, if there is not one there they might as well draft a different position. Bills fans might have to live with Fitzpatrick for another year, and I'm fine with that. When there is a franchise QB available however, the bills need to make a redskins like move to get him.
  8. The best indicator of future success is past performance. The new Bills coaching staff is realtively speaking, unproven, so who knows what we are going to get. Marrone has never been an NFL head coach, and was only an NFL offensive cordinator by title. Hackett based on his resume is unqualified to be the Bills offensive coordinator. Was Pettine the real defensive coordinator for the Jets or was it Ryan? I would have liked to have seen a more veteran staff. I'm hoping for the best, but have no idea how this is going to go.
  9. There are times when players who lack ideal speed or size succeed, but more often then not they fail. There have not been many great QBs who are Wilson's height, so I get why he lasted until the 3rd round. A 3rd pick in not much of a sacrafice. I think reason the Seahawks ended up with an elite QB is due to the amount of times they attempted to bring in a QB. Look at the guys the brought in. Whitehurst, Flynn, Jackson, and the Wilson. They kept at it unitl they ended up with a good QB on the roster.
  10. He will not be available, but saying no thanks is an unacceptable answer. He is real good, so if he was available, the bills should do whatever it takes to get him.
  11. The bills actually loved Willis and Peterson the year they were drafted, but unfortunetely the Bills were better than the Vikings and 49ers the previous season. Peterson went 4 picks before the Bills pick and the 49ers drafted Willis the pick before us. The Bills are frequentely bad, but never bad enough.
  12. Most of the "experts" that have appeared on Sirius NFL Radio seem to think that DE, DT, and the LB positions are the deepest in the draft. I would be fine with a LB or Pass Rushing DE at 8. Yes, I know the bills spent a billion dollars on pass rushers last year, but can you have too many? I would only take a DE if that player had a much higher grade than the other players available at 8, but it could work out that way.
  13. I agree with you for the most part. I read an ariticle a few years ago about the Bears 4-3 cover 2 defense the year the went to the super bowl. According to the aritcle the Bears were only in their base 4-3 46% of the time. On the other hand, the constant switching of base defenses cannot be good for this franchise.
  14. If the bills switch to the 3-4 I predict the bills will struggle and Marone will be fired after completing his 3rd season. I could see the bills using the Buddy Ryan/Gregg Williams 46 defense.
  15. No, bills fans would be excited.
  16. The good ones like Mcnair and Young ran when the were young but were good enough passers that they didn't need to later in their careers.
  17. Several guests on Sirius NFL Radio have said that the 3 deepest positions are DT, DE, and LB. I have no idea if their assessment is correct.
  18. I saw Kolb play under Andy Reid in Philadelphia. He was amazing averaging over 300 years per game. I also remember AJ Feeley playing great ball under Coach Reid. Donavan McNabb played great under Reid. Maybe Reid should be our guy. If not Reid, I like Smith the best.
  19. I'm probably going to get crap for this, but here it is anyways. I think the guy did a good job as offensive coordiantor. Yes, I would have liked to have seen Spiller get the ball more. On the other hand however, the offense did fairly well considering the QB and the overall talent level. I think the biggest mistake he made was switching back and forth between the 3/4 and the 4/3, and his defenisve coordiantors should have done better.
  20. Yes he should be a candidate. -Led the broncos to the playoffs one of the two years he was coach. The non-playoff year was an 8-8 season. -Led the bills to the playoffs two of the three years he was coach. The non-playoff year was an 8-8 season. -With Dallas he did better with similar talent than Bill Parcells. Made the playoffs two of the three season he was coach, including a 13-3 season. -He was been one of the top 3 defensive coordinators with many teams. Summary: Swallow your pride bills and give him a look.
  21. He is a great coach. Fans are ridiculous, the Eagles were not as talented as people thought the last 2 years. On a different note, many steelers fans want Tomlin fired.
  22. The more and more I read it becomes apparent that Brandon has more power than Nix. It seems like Brandon wants Nix gone, but Ralf likes Nix. It should be interesting.
  23. I agree with many other posters. Rebuilding will continue until the bills get a good QB.
  24. I fear some of our best players are not really that good. Kyle Williams can penetrate and disrupt plays in the backfield, but when he shoots in and does not get the RB there is a big hole for RB to run through. This also results in offensive lineman being free to block our linebackers. I also fear that Stevie Johnson's unorthodox route running results many negative plays. I hope I'm wrong.
