  1. According to Bill Polian, Matt Flynn is not the answer at QB. So I'm opposed to the trade unless it is our 5th or 6th round pick.
  2. Takeo Spikes was never the same. It might be best to pass on Davis.
  3. Williams started a lot of games and a lot of fans did not have high expectations for Maybin, but they were first round picks who stunk.
  4. Since there might not be a blue chip prospect in this draft the bills need to be prepared to draft another QB next year as well. If both QBs develop into stars you can trade one. If only one turns into a star, it was a good thing you drafted two. If both suck, it doesn't matter because without a good QB the bills would not have competed for a championship anyways.
  5. If Ryan Tannehill can play they are in good shape, but I did find it strange how they structured their free agents contracts.
  6. It is my guess that the QB the bills want is a second tier guy because you can't count on getting a Smith or Barkley at 8. So would they cut Fitz if there was a chance the QB they want most might not be there, I'm not sure.
  7. I wish he just cost us another 40 million.
  8. Every time someone expresses fear someone else replies by saying "doomed." While I do agree that bills fans do tend to overreact, we have been doomed in Buffalo. The bills have gone well over decade without making playoffs. When people post "doomed" they shouldn't do it with a sarcastic tone, because we have been doomed.
  9. Here it is. Step #1: Luck out and draft one of the best QBs of all time in the 6th round. Step #2: Win a lot of games.
  10. How about the bills keep good players instead of trading them for picks that often don't amount to much. Mario played well after his wrist surgery.
  11. I don't know if any these QBs are any good, but the bills now have the worst starting QB in the league and the best QB prospect will not fall to 8. It would appear to me that there is a QB the bills feel is decent about based on the releasing of Fitzpatrick, might as well get your top choice.
  12. I think Ravens' fans are in a position to not freak out, bills fans on the other hand should be concerned. The bills have missed the playoffs for over a decade straight, so why are you so calm? Right now our starting QB is Tavaris Jackson, which means that the bills might have the worst starting QB in the league. According to many there are no franchise QBs in this draft, and even if there were, we are drafting 8th with a plethora of teams drafting ahead of us that need QBs. Our GM was just recorded bashing our QB. We just lost one of our best players. We are getting bashed by the national media. Yes fans do tend to overeat the first day of free agency and yes there are plenty of other free agents available, but don't let that cloud your vision. This bills team was supposed to compete for a playoff spot last year but instead the bills went 6-10. We are now far worse. My biggest fear however, is that we draft a QB this year who leads the bills to a 3-13 record. We then have a great pick with a top QB talent available, but pass because the bills can't give up on a guy after one year. The last part is my fears of the future, the first part is a pretty fair assessment of the current state of the bills.
  13. Would he have cost 8 million per year if we resigned him prior to the start of last season? That is what I want to know?
  14. We tried to trade up to get him but the Jaguars asked for the moon. I wish we offered the moon, but oh well. I still can't believe the one year the steelers were worse than the bills Big Ben was sitting there for them.. Or the one year the colts were bad Luck was available.
  15. Peter's wasn't drafted. He was a rookie free agent tight end.
  16. Every team is rebuilding. Even the best teams in the league turn over half of their roster every 3 years.
  17. Be prepared to be shocked by Levitre's contract. It it is not going to be anywhere near 3-4 million a year, it will be much higher.
  18. I would recommend spending a few dollars more. Tires can often last over 50,000 miles.
  19. I feel bad that the guy never made the playoffs with the bills. He was a class act and played hard for the bills. At least he made a lot of money.
  20. NFL radio reported today that the chiefs are trying to trade for him. They apparently are probably not going to draft a QB with the first overall pick. How anyone outside of the organization knows that I have no idea, but that is what is being reported.
  21. Considering that Polian and Marone attended the same high school, Polian may have a bias. Still good the hear though.
  22. He was on NFL radio with Scott Pioli yesterday and they talked about the importance of the business side being in tune with the personnel side and the personnel side being in tune with the business side of things. He said Nix will decide who they draft.
  23. The bills really don't have a lot of extra cap space when you consider the free agents they have to resign and the rookies they have to sign. So I would say no. He is the type of player you get when you are ready to win a superbowl, not when you are possibly taking a rookie QB.
  24. So let's put the contract in perspective. Heading into the bye 2 years ago the bills looked like a playoff team and Fitzpatrick was playing like Pro Bowler in Chan's offense. The bills enter the bye week and decide to lock Fitzpatrick up. The contract would have been modest at best if Fitzpatrick continued to play the way he was playing. In addition, if he continued to play good ball the bills risked losing him at the end of the season. He would not have been worth the franchise tag price, so he would have had the opportunity to go wherever he wanted or to whoever offered him the most money. If you look back at the comments on the site at the time of the signing, most people were in favor of it. Most people on this board were also mad when the bills passed on Jimmy Clausen. Fitzpatrick's current contract is acutually kind of fair when you compare it too his production. Now, would I like to see the bills obtain a better QB? Yes I would. I just can deal with all of the revisionist historians on here. To read the messages on the site you would think that bills fans were Bill Polians. Everyone knew that Russel Wilson and Colin Kaepernick were going to be great. Everyone knew that Fitz would fail. I'm calling BS on all of this. Fitzpatrick's contract was worth the risk. The mistake the bills made was not drafting a QB just in case Fitz came back down to earth.
  25. Even though there are rules against it, most teams more or less know if they won the bidding war on free agents by the end of the Combine. Keep in my that Nix told us well before free agency last year that the bills would be a "big player" in free agency last year. So if the bill come up with a plan for the QB position prior to March something might be done.
