Are the Quarterbacks going to start dropping?

I have a feeling you will be homeless soon. I think 3 will be drafted in the top 8. -
Cordy flip to right Tackle...No!

I think Pears was fine when the Bills had Fitzpatrick at QB, as he got rid of the ball quickly. As of right now I think the Bills could use another tackle. I'm not sure I want one at 9, but I might. -
The Bills have more talent for sure. That is why I am so upset about losing Byrd. I felt that if they kept Byrd, had a good draft, and got better play from EJ, the Bills could have had a good season next year. EJ's improvement being the most important. If the Bills were able to keep their best players from leaving, they would only be a good QB away from winning playoff games.

I don't think we are in a position to start a "Only in Oakland" topic. They have made the playoffs more recently than the Bills.

The Bills are doing an excellent job in Free Agency

Should the Bills start asking every potential draft choice "Do you want to be a Buffalo Bill?" -

I feel the Bills two most recent signing have been a waste of cap space. Both players have struggled throughout their careers and are probably more suited to be backups, yet they will receiver a total of 6 million a year. I would much rather invest 6 million dollars in a play maker, something the bills have lacked. As for Byrd not wanting to be here, that was not the case according to Aaron Williams. The Bills should have used the franchise tag on him. We need more play makers like him, not less. The Saints placed the tag on Brees last year even though he did not want the tag. The Saints placed the TE tag on Graham, which he hated. You have to do everything in your power to improve your roster. -
Bills Sign LB Keith Rivers

We have now spent 6 million on 2 players who probably won't contribute much. Why not just sign an impact player, like keeping Byrd. -
Revis a Patriot / Bucs cut Revis

I have been very critical of the Bills for letting Byrd go, but the Bucs decision to trade for Reavis was a much worse decision. They traded a 1st and 4th round pick and paid 16 million to watch Reavis regain health after recovery from surgery. Has to be hearbreaking for Bucs fans. -
I am of course hoping for the best, but I am expecting the worse. Williams has not been a very good player. It is my fear that the bills will use the 8.6 they saved by not using the franchise tag on Byrd by signing more guys like Williams. They would have been much better of in my opinion, using the tag on Byrd then using a 3rd-5th round pick on a LG. I think they could have gotten similar production to Williams by signing a vet at the league minimum. Maybe our coaches will be the ones that can finally get Williams to play well. I guess we can dream.

Approval Poll: F.O.'s Handling of Byrd

I would say they have invested a lot of cash on safety and their interior line. Polamalu and Pouncey being examples. The Saints are a smart franchise and they felt Byrd was worth the cash. -

I can understand when a team like the Steelers has to let a good player go, as they have traditionally drafted very well and it is difficult to fit everyone under the cap. I think Seattle will have this problem over the next few years. The Bills have to retain their own players. In my opinion, the franchise tag should have been used. One thing Bill Polian was great at was keeping his own guys. He didn't sign too many free agents from other teams. Yesterday was a bad day for Buffalo. -
I wish Byrd the best and good for the Saints. I still feel the Bills should have used the franchise tag on Byrd, but no point complaining about it now. It is amazing how good teams find ways of acquiring talent. Like San Fran trading for Bolden last year for next to nothing. Now the Saints finding a way to sign Byrd. I wish the Bills were making similar moves.

The Bills have not had a new era in a long time. Jeff Littman and Jim Overdorf have had a lot of power since the 1980s. Recently on Sirius NFL radio Bill Polian was asked about the power struggle going on in Buffalo. While he claimed that he knew nothing about it, he did say Litttman has a lot of power for a long time. It almost seems like the Bills use the position of GM as a scapegoat. You fire the GM to keep the fans happy but keep the real leadership in place.

Jairus Byrd [was Jarius Byrd]

If the Bills get a comp pick for Byrd it would mean that the did very little in free agency, since the players you sign count against you. -

The Saints were not afraid to tag Brees last year, even though Brees was outraged. The Saints did not have a problem tagging Graham as a TE. The collective bargaining agreement allowed us to keep the player who is now the top free agent on the market, and we decided to pass and let him go. I don't get it. The tag would have been cheaper than the 10 million we offered him for the next season. -

Byrd is now considered to be the top free agent on the market, apparently he is not good enough for the bills though. I don't know why they didn't use the franchise tag on him, it would have made sure that the bills secured the top free agent available. If they didn't want to use the Franchise tag they should have at least used the transition tag. They could have then let him hit the market then match any offer. With that over with we will see many bills fans make fun of Byrd. Others will say the franchise is doomed. Others will say that the franchise is in fine shape. The reality is that the bills really are doomed. 14 years of no playoffs is the definition of doomed. -

If the Bills were willing to pay Byrd $10 million a year for the next 3 years, why wouldn't they be willing to pay him 8.6 million this year under the franchise tag. It seems like that would save them 1.4 million dollars in real cash. -

It appears that teams don't wont to trade a draft pick and pay him a a lucrative contract. I think the Bills should tag him then start him at Safety. -

I dont think the Bills can afford to let Pro Bowl talent walk. They have plenty of cap space and a lack of great players. It would be different if the cost to tag him was more than what he would command on the open market, but I don't think that will be the case. -
Every time they called Buffalo they gave the same offer and never compromised. After week 5 the bills caved. I heard this from Pete Carrol on Sirius NFL radio. To be fair to the bills, didn't Lynch get drunk, hit a woman with his car, leave her for dead, then try to cover it up. I appologize if I have missed up the facts about Lnych's crime.
