For what it is worth, all of the mocks had Losman going in round 2. He wasn't really a bargain.

In hindsight maybe he should have used the 2nd round tender, but at the time I think he was hoping to save every penny of cap space possible. Did any other team want to sign Hogan, or was it just the Patriots? If it was just the Patriots I can see why Whaley falsely believed that Hogan could be retained at the minimum salary. Even if he was given the 2nd round tender, the Bills still would have missed the playoffs. No one would have sacrificed the 2nd round pick to pick up Hogan, so he would have become a free agent anyways.

I think they should keep Taylor and draft a QB if a "franchise" QB is available at 10.

I think most of our good players have very little trade value because of their large contracts.

I think the Chargers should trade Rivers. They need to rebuild and what Rivers means to the city of San Diego no longer matters.

What about Chan Gailey?

Who cares if he is bitter and disappointed. If he is the best available option he needs to do the job he is being paid to do.

If they Broncos want him that means we should probably keep him. They seem to have consistently made better decisions than the Bills over the last 17 years.

I think he would have done better if he had more control over the roster. I remember him begging Marv to draft Kyle Williams in the 4th round but Marv loved Ko Simpson. Thank heavens Kyle was still around in the 5th. Marv caved and drafted Jauron's guy and the rest is history. I didn't like how this board trashed the guy for drafting so many DBs when he didn't make the decisions. We also hated his bend but don't break 4-3 defense but it did a decent of keeping the opponents point total down. We have had some decent coaches through the years but we have not had talented people throughout the organization since the days of Polian, Butler, and AJ Smith.

Sadly, I think this is the most likely scenario.

Watson is unattainable so he cannot be the answer the Bills QB problem, assuming you think the Bills have a QB problem.

I want a QB who will help the Bills finish in the top 10 in scoring every year, even when the defense doesn't help because it can't force turnovers. I want a QB who helps our defense by not turning the ball over. We have that guy and apparently want to get rid of him. I have no problem with the Bills drafting a QB but they should stick with Taylor for the next two seasons.

I think the salary is very reasonable assuming we have an offensive coordinator willing and able to utilize his talents in their scheme.

On ESPN Radio Polian said the the Bills head coaching opening is the least appealing. He reasoned that we either have a QB problem if Taylor is released or a QB with too large of a salary if he is kept. He also said that several of our defensive players only fit one scheme. I apologize if this was stated earlier, but I don't have time to read all 9 pages of this forum.

The first year of the drought the Bills were coached by Wade Phillips, who in my opinion was our best head coach. Even if he didn't wear a headset.

Yep, you need to go after guys who were cut instead of guys who had their contract expire. The Packers are masters at working the system.

Most coaches will not talk to a team about an opening with a coach in place. If they fire Rex any potential candidate not currently in the league would discuss the job, so in theory they would get a head start over the other teams that will fire their coaches. I am in a strange place right now. I have no opinion on the subject because I don't really care. I usually go through the normal Bills' fans roller coaster of emotions, with the current situation normally causing me anger.

We are scoring more points than most with Tyrod as our QB but our defense has been sub par. Fix the defense and the Bills will be fine.

The Bills are averaging 26 points per game with Taylor. It doesn't look pretty but that is a respectable total. I want him back but at a lower salary than he is scheduled to make next season.

Mack is great, the Raiders defense is not. They are giving up 28 points for game, which is 28th in the NFL. I'm more worried about stopping their offense.

CJ Spiller averaged 6.1 per carry with over 200 touches here. I do agree that Elliot is very good, I'm just not sure 5.1 makes you legendary.

You have to draft a QB like that a round earlier than when you would expect to get him. We missed out on Russel Wilson by waiting too long as well.

His production didn't match his cap number so he was cut. I felt he was a really good player his first 3 years here which I appreciate, but they let him go at the right time.
