I don't think the Bills will have a great line next year. They picked up ok players who will get replaced with drafted players over the next 2 years. Morse is the exception.
I doubt we will be able to trade down because the QBs will be gone. If there was another offer like the one we got form KC two years ago I believe they would trade down.
If they didn't want to keep OBJ long term then he was smart. By giving him a long term contract it greatly increased his trade value. If the original plan was to keep him then he's an idiot. The spent a lot on his signing bonus and got nothing out of the money. Supposedly OBJ is already unhappy with his contract. If so, this could have caused the trade.
I have been very critical of the Bills free agents pickups. On the positive side however, they can draft the best player available with each pick this year.
This is the exact start of free agency that I feared. Morse was a great pick up and Gore was a great value. These other guys are over paid and mediocre. I do like that the Bills have front loaded these contracts so that the players become cheap beginning year 3. I just don't like the players themselves.
Are Brown and Beasely much better than Foster and Jones. I actually believe that Foster and Jones have more upside than the 2 guys we just spent a boat load of money for. Allen would really benefit from a #1 who opens get open and helps the 2nd and 3rd WR run free.
I think it will matter. Darnold will be better in year 2 and the talent around him and on defense will be better as well. I expect them to win more games next season than last.
I like this move a lot more than the Kroft signing. He played really well last year and was cheap. Kroft has been an injured backup who is now wasting 6-7 million dollars in cap space.
He also was excited about coming to Buffalo.
